Former Pakistan captain <keyword id="16977" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shahid-Afridi">Shahid Afridi</keyword> revealed on Saturday that he has tested positive for coronavirus. He wrote a heartfelt message on popular social media platform Twitter to make the announcement. Afridi stated that he has feeling unwell since Thursday and after getting himself tested, the reports came as positive. He urged his fans and followers to pray for him during these testing times. His Twitter post read: "I have been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body has been aching badly. I have been tested and unfortunately I'm covid positive. Need prayers for speedy recovery, Inshallah. #COVID19 #pandemic #hopenotout #staysafe #stayhome." Afridi had been involved in charity work during the ongoing crisis in his home country. He was even supported by former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and out-of-favour spinner Harbjahan Singh. But following his comments on Kashmir and India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian cricketers had cut all ties with Afridi. "This is very upsetting what Shahid Afridi has come up with, talking ill about our country and our Prime Minister. This is just not acceptable," Harbhajan had told Sports Tak. "To be honest, he (Afridi) asked us to make an appeal for his charity. In good faith, we did it for humanity and for the people suffering due to the coronavirus," said Harbhajan. "But this man is talking ill about our country. All I have to say is we have nothing to do with Shahid Afridi. The lateral flow tests always doesn't give accurate results as it is a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and it is a form of self test with the kit being provided to each member of the side. The Indian contingent has been carrying out lateral flow tests every single day since Rishabh Pant tested positive for COVID during the three week break. It is understood that Shastri may have got the symptoms after attending his book launch event in the team hotel where outside guests were also allowed. "Since there is no restrictions in the UK, outside guests were allowed during Shastri's book launch party. These people also were his closest contacts, so it has now led to mandatory isolation," a BCCI source said. "You feel for Bharath Arun. This is the second time, that he has to be isolated because someone else had tested positive. Last time it was Dayanand Garani, the masseur, who came in contact with Arun and later tested positive," he added. London, Apr 12 (AFP) England paceman Liam Plunkett has said the outbreak of the coronavirus has made his abrupt exit from international duty "irrelevant". The 35-year-old Surrey quick helped England lift the World Cup last year, taking three wickets in a thrilling final against New Zealand at Lord's. That remains his last international appearance, however, with Plunkett disappointed at not being offered an England limited-overs central contract for the 2020 season. But with Britain currently in lockdown in a bid to combat the pandemic, with the start of the season delayed until May 28 at the earliest and the possibility of further postponements likely, Plunkett was philosophical about his England career. "Cricket doesn't look so big now," Plunkett told the Sunday Times. "All the stuff about me not being picked for England, it's irrelevant. "I was disappointed, but I've got no need to speak about that now. Like everyone, I want my family and friends to be safe, and that's all I'm worried about." Plunkett, formerly of Durham and Yorkshire, said cricket, together with sport in general, would bolster national morale once lockdown restrictions were lifted. Johannesburg, Jul 15 () Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday said six people have returned positive for the dreaded coronavirus but none of them are cricketers following approximately 50 tests conducted ahead of the 3TeamCricket match on Saturday. "Cricket South Africa (CSA) can confirm that approximately 50 COVID-19 PCR tests were performed on players, coaches, support and venue staff during the period of 10 to 13 July at various venues across the country, in preparation for the 3TeamCricket match that will be taking place on Saturday, 18 July 2020," CSA said in a statement. "Six positive results were returned but none among any of the participating players. They have been managed by the CSA Medical team according to the current Department of Health &amp; National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) guidelines." CSA did not say who were the six COVID-19 positive people from among those tested for the dreaded disease. The '3TCricket' competition on July 18 would mark the resumption of live cricket in South Africa following the coronavirus-forced break. One of the options being mooted is to have the sport resume after restrictions have been lifted, but in empty stadiums.
