Under its new “Team Anywhere” policy, the company’s 5,700 global staff will be allowed to work from any location in the world — as long as it has a base there, they have a legal right to work there, and the time zone is broadly aligned with the rest of their team. Atlassian co-founder and co-chief executive Scott Farquhar <a href="https://www.smh.com.au/business/small-business/four-times-a-year-in-the-office-atlassian-goes-all-in-on-wfh-20210428-p57n4w.html">told The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald</a> the move to permanent work from home organisational structure aligns with the company’s status as an Australian-based company with a global workforce. “If you think about Atlassian historically we’ve basically been a global company, we’ve had a belief that talent exists everywhere in the world, not just in Silicon Valley,” Farquhar said. It will still maintain its physical offices, and its planned Sydney headquarters over at Central Station is still going ahead, but the company will pause efforts to acquire more space beyond its existing commitments and look toward creating smaller co-working hubs closer to where employees live. The company said it estimates it will have around 50% office attendance, based on surveys of employee sentiment. “If you want to have an office environment you can do that,” Farquhar said of how the new arrangement will work, but add the policy will stipulate that “you’re not allowed to have meetings with only some of your co-workers, if one person is on Zoom everyone’s on Zoom individually.” Atlassian’s commitment to flexible working was established long before the pandemic forced almost all organisations toward remote work, with a <a href="https://www.atlassian.com/team-playbook/why">“Team Playbook”</a> that serves as an evidence-based guidebook to ensuring productivity within remote and global teams. The company has also built a global organisation from its early days when it was based out of Australia but serving predominantly US-based clients. Even within the tech industry, Atlassian’s new policy is notably lenient. Google recently outlined requirements for employees to live within commuting distance of its offices and apply if they wish to work from home for more than 14 days a year. And other prominent tech companies such as Netflix and Amazon have also signalled a desire for their employees to return to the office. However Farquhar said he’s confident the policy makes sense for the company – its products, designed for global, seamless collaboration, are after all made for working remotely. “We’ve built a great company, tapping into a global talent base and so the idea of ‘Team Anywhere’ is that talent still exists anywhere it just doesn’t happen to need to exist within 50 kilometres of an existing office,” he said. Under the new policy, pay will be based on labour costs in the region a worker is based in, as opposed to the more commonly used measure of cost of living. Farquhar said the company will only expect employees to visit the office around four times a year, at events he thinks will resemble attending a work conference, but most staff have said they plan to attend around half the time. Atlassian says its employees only need to come into the office 4 times a year under its new 'Team Anywhere' policy

Food &amp; Wine revealed the winners of its <a href="http://www.foodandwine.com/blogs/2014/3/31/where-to-go-for-breaking-best-new-chef-news">Best New Chefs awards for 2014</a> this morning in a series of selfies posted by magazine editor Dana Cowin.
For the photos, Cowin asked the 12 winners - from 10 restaurants around the U.S. - to recreate the faces they made when they found out they had been named to the prestigious list. The chefs were selected by the magazine's editors during a months-long process that included a broad call for nominations and incognito visits to their restaurants.
These are the chefs to keep an eye on this year. Texas fared particularly well on the list, while Manhattan chefs were shut out. Get to know the winners (and see their selfies) below.
<h3>Justin Yu, <a href="http://oxhearthouston.com/">Oxheart</a>, Houston</h3>
Yu's vegetable-centric Houston restaurant opened in March 2012. Both he and the restaurant were named seminfinalists at the 2013 James Beard Awards. Yu worked at *17 in Houston, Green Zebra and Spring in Chicago, and Ubuntu in Napa Valley before opening his own kitchen.

<h3>Cara Stadler, <a href="http://tao-yuan.me/">Tao Yuan</a>, Brunswick ME</h3>
Stadler is the younger half of the mother-daughter pair at Tao Yuan, a modern Asian restaurant in Maine. She worked at Café Rouge in Berkeley, Striped Bass in Philadelphia, and at Guy Savoy and Gordon Ramsay Au Trianon Palace in Paris. She was also a 2014 James Beard semifinalist in the Rising Star Chef of the year category.

The Dentons' Ox was inspired by the wood-fired grills of Argentina, along with the culinary heritage of Spain, France and Italy. The pair were also named 2014 James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef Pacific Northwest for the second year in a row.


<h3>Matthew Accarrino, <a href="http://www.spqrsf.com/">SPQR</a>, San Francisco</h3>
SPQR is a traditional Italian restaurant with Northern California touches. Accarrino trained in Italy and worked for boldface-named chefs like Todd English, Rick Moonen, Tom Colicchio, and Thomas Keller. Accarrino was a James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef: Pacific in 2012, and SPQR received its first Michelin star in 2013.

Qui has a familiar face: He was the winner of "Top Chef: Season 9," and won the 2012 James Beard award for Best New Chef in the Southwest in 2012. <h3>Eli Kulp, <a href="http://www.forkrestaurant.com/">Fork</a>, Philadelphia</h3>
Kulp has a serious background in Italian cuisine, having trained at Torrisi Italian Specialties, Casa Lever, La Fonda del Sol, and Del Posto in New York City. He was named executive chef at Fork in the fall of 2012.

<h3>Ari Taymor, <a href="http://www.alma-la.com/">Alma</a>, Los Angeles</h3>
Taymor is a self-taught chef and the co-owner of Alma, which started as a pop-up restaurant and is now a renowned Los Angeles eatery known for its tasting menus based on locally grown produce. He trained at flour+water, Bar Tartine, Plate Shop, and La Chassagnette.
