The prolonged pandemic will impact new client acquisitions, and as a result, Kotak Securities has corrected the revenue expectation from IT companies by 2-4%. “We expected moderate improvement in spends among US banking clients at the beginning of the year. As a result, he is no longer the tenth richest man in the world or even Asia’s richest man. He lost this title of Asia’s richest man to Alibaba founder and Chinese billionaire Jack Ma who is worth $38.8 billion, according to Forbes. In fact, Ambani dropped eleven places in the rich list becoming the 21st richest man in the world. But he is still the richest man in the country, by a wide margin. The Ambanis however took advantage of the immense meltdown in stock prices to increase stake in the company, Reliance Industries. His net worth saw a marginal increase after the Ambani family — Mukesh and Nita Ambani and their three children — raised stake.  This is a 31.8% slump in the stock price in the last three months as the markets across the globe felt the jitters of the Coronavirus outbreak. Along with trade, travel came to a grinding halt. Supply and sale affected Tata Steel, which sources materials like refractory, steel mill rolls, electrodes and manganese from China, is bearing the brunt as the country is the epicenter of the outbreak. While the company is looking to place orders in alternate markets like Brazil and Turkey, it would add to its costs. “We have already carried out a risk assessment and are comfortable till April. Our operations have not been affected," T V Narendran, CEO &amp; MD of Tata Steel <a href="https://www.businesstoday.in/current/corporate/coronavirus-tata-steel-materials-markets-china/story/397843.html">said</a> during the CII’s annual meeting. On the other hand, the steel prices are also affected and fell to <a href="https://www.business-standard.com/article/companies/coronavirus-outbreak-may-slow-down-steel-price-recovery-narendran-120030800396_1.html">₹37,000 a tonne from </a>₹46,000 per tonne last year. In November 2019 when Coronavirus was first reported, prices slipped to as low as ₹32,250 a tonne. Stocks crashed by 20% in last 15 days The stocks crashed by 20% in the last 15 days, affected by supplies from the markets in China. What is more to the worry for the steel market is that almost 30 million inventory is piling up in China. And it is yet to be seen if that volume will be exported or supplied within the home market. "If you leave the virus out, we were seeing green shoots in the economy. Things were picking up in multiple areas," Narendran said. However, it might be tougher to realise these green shoots as the country is coming to a standstill. Tata Steel, on Monday (March 16) advised its officials to work from home and avoid unnecessary gatherings. Tata Steel loses almost a third of its share value in 3 months as coronavirus chokes inputs

It was triggered after Nifty50 crashed 10%. Trading was suspended for 45 minutes before markets reopened. However, TCS continues to be volatile. However, it was back to being in second place after markets closed yesterday, March 13. Even ₹4,500 crore couldn't fight the effects of the coronavirus The massive dip in TCS value comes after the company met on March 11 and declared an interim dividend of ₹12 per share — a total payout of ₹4,503 crore. In fact, the announcement of dividends did nothing to slow the stock's downward trajectory this week.

'Corona crash' wipes over ₹2 lakh crore from TCS share value in just 3 months

Radhakishan Damani and Sunil Bharati Mittal were the only exceptions.</li></ul>The Covid-19 outbreak and slowdown has cost many people their salaries, jobs and much more. Indian billionaires are not immune to it either. Collectively all of India’s 102 billionaires lost $93 billion - or a quarter of their wealth. Indian billionaires are now worth $313 billion as opposed to $406 billion last year - that is 23% lower than what they held last year. “The COVID-19 pandemic was a double whammy for India’s billionaires, whose fortunes had already taken a hit from a slowing economy and falling consumer demand. Even before India went into a total lockdown at the end of March, its stock market had plunged to a three-year low as of March 18, the date we finalized this year’s list,” <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/naazneenkarmali/2020/04/07/indias-10-richest-billionaires-in-2020/#498bb74b7c23">reported Forbes</a>. As all Indian billionaires lost, Mukesh Ambani could retain his title as India’s richest man. But his net worth slumped to $36.8 billion from $50 billion earlier, which made him lose his global ranking. He is now the 21st richest man in the world as opposed to 9th richest man earlier. Many other billionaires including Uday Kotak, Cyrus Poonawalla, and Shiv Nadar lost over a billion dollars each. Radhakishan Damani of DMart and Sunil Bharati Mittal were the only exceptions. Damani is now the second richest man in India. His net worth rose by a quarter to $13.8 billion from $11.1 billion earlier after shares of Avenue Supermarts surged 31% between January 1 and February 18. But slowdown is not the only reason why many billionaires lost their wealth. This number was greatly affected by generosity, and mostly from one person. Tech tycoon <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/india/news/azim-premji-foundation-and-wipro-donate-1125-crore-to-fight-coronavirus-pandemic/articleshow/74927786.cms">and owner of Wipro Azim Premji donated 73% of his wealth</a>, reducing the collective net worth by a substantial amount.
