Policing operations for each event have been thoroughly reviewed with the organisers and we've put in place extra measures and officers."We are doing everything we can to keep London safe."Extra armed officers, freed up by military support providing static guarding at key locations, will be on duty. They will be carrying out foot patrols with borough and specialist colleagues, or roving patrols in cars. Operations ramped up but no specific threat to public this weekend says UK security minister

An <keyword id="19992067" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Air-Force" source="keywords">Indian Air Force</keyword> soldier who was injured in a <keyword id="19899445" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="terrorist-attack" source="keywords">terrorist attack</keyword> in the <keyword id="19905509" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Poonch" source="keywords">Poonch</keyword> sector in <keyword id="19900657" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jammu-and-Kashmir" source="keywords">Jammu and Kashmir</keyword> on Saturday has unfortunately passed away, confirmed the Indian Air Force. "An Indian Air Force vehicle convoy was attacked by militants in the Poonch district of J&amp;K, near Shahsitar. Cordon and search operations are underway presently in the area by local military units. The convoy has been secured, and further investigation is under progress," tweeted the <keyword id="19900590" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="iaf" source="keywords">IAF</keyword> Media Co-ordination Centre on X. The injured personnel were evacuated to Udhampur for treatment on IAF choppers, where one of them succumbed. Another soldier is reported to be in critical condition, as confirmed by security force officials. "In the ensuing gunfight with terrorists, the Air Warriors fought back by returning fire. In the process, five IAF personnel received bullet injuries, and were evacuated to the nearest military hospital for immediate medical attention. One Air Warrior succumbed to his injuries later. Further operations are on by the local security forces," said the IAF. The soldier who succumbed was undergoing treatment at the command hospital at Udhampur. The remaining three are stable as per the Security Force officials, reported ANI. Following the attack that occurred in the evening around Shah Sitar and Shashidhar areas in the Poonch sector. Security forces initiated a search and cordon operation, as stated by security forces' officials. In response to the attack, forces have increased patrolling and vehicle checks in the area. The convoy was en route to the Sanai Top in the Surankote area of the district. The terrorists are suspected to be belonging to the same group that ambushed Indian troops in the Bufliaz area nearby on December 21, as per the Times of India report. The December attack last year had killed four soldiers and injured three. Earlier, in November 2023, a prolonged gunfight between Indian Army and the terrorists responsible for frequent attack on civilians in the region has resulted in deaths of five army personnel, including two captains. The Poonch sector belongs to the Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary constituency which will vote for the Lok Sabha elections on May 25. Congress leaders Malikarjun Kharge and <keyword id="19895780" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rahul-gandhi" source="keywords">Rahul Gandhi</keyword> extended condolences over the death of IAF personnel. <ul class="summary-list"><li>A mob in Russia ransacked an airport Sunday, looking for people on a plane from Israel.</li><li>Their actions seemed directed by a local antisemitic Telegram channel urging people to target Jews.</li></ul>A mob of protesters that ransacked a Russian airport in search of Jews on Sunday was incited by an antisemitic Telegram channel.Morning Dagestan, a channel with some 65,000 subscribers, alerted its followers to a scheduled arrival from Tel Aviv, Israel over the weekend.The plane was due at Makhachkala International Airport, the main airport Russia's Dagestan region, where there is a large Muslim majority.It told them to arrive in numbers, and to yell at and interrogate passengers they thought were Jewish, then to follow them home.Insider reviewed and translated a number of its posts, and compared them with events at the airport. The <a target="_blank" href="https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-october-29-2023">respected Institute for the Study of War</a> also identified the channel as driving the mob.Large crowds showed up, videos from the airport show — the ISW estimated the crowd as numbering in the hundreds; a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.rbc.ru/politics/30/10/2023/653f63729a7947bff7a75757">Russian media outlet citing local officials</a> said there were about 1,200.The tone of the messages was religious, interspersing its instructions with common Islamic phrases like allahu akhbar, inshallah and bismillah. The whole airport was later shut down.<a target="_blank" href="https://t.me/utro_dagestan/14995">In one post the day before the plan landed</a>, the channel called on "as many people as possible" to gather at the airport to "greet" what it called "unwelcome guests.""We must gather as many people as possible at the airport and let this plane full of that scum turn around and leave anywhere else!!!" the post added.The post included flight information for a Red Wings Airlines plane due to land around 7 p.m. local time.The channel later posted flight-tracking data following the progress of the flight.The Telegram channel <a target="_blank" href="https://t.me/utro_dagestan/15038">went on to post detailed instructions</a>, asking people to insist that arriving passengers denounce Israel, then to follow them home and record their addresses. It said that anybody who did not denounce Israel should not be allowed to leave the airport.However, the people at the airport did not stick to that brief. They were instead recorded running through the airport and at one surrounding <a target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/omid9/status/1718895408624062950">a man who insisted he was not in fact Jewish</a>, and taking his passport.That encounter was the only evidence Insider saw of the crowd confronting a passenger.As events escalated, the channel posted <a target="_blank" href="https://t.me/utro_dagestan/15085">a message</a> insisting on "No vandalism! No swearing! No assault!"<a target="_blank" href="https://t.me/utro_dagestan/15078">Another</a> said: "Attention! Brothers! What you have done so far is enough! Just go back to the exit and check the cars there! There is no need to engage in vandalism!!! Five terrorists killed in Jammu and Kashmir amid encounter in Shopian district

An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in <keyword id="17605" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jammu-and-kashmir">Jammu and Kashmir</keyword>'s Srinagar on Monday, police said. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in <keyword id="10091407" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="old-barzulla-area">Old Barzulla area</keyword> of the city here in the early hours of Monday after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said. After the initial contact, there was a lull for half an hour and then the firing resumed, the official said. The operation is underway and further details are awaited, he said. Encounter breaks out between security forces and militants in Srinagar

Two CRPF men were killed and three others injured after terrorists attacked a road opening party of the police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Monday, officials said. The attack took place in the Kandzal area of Pampore.
