The shares are proposed to be listed on BSE and NSE. About the company Concord Biotech has three manufacturing facilities and two dedicated R&amp;D units, all located in Gujarat. It manufactures bio-pharmaceutical APIs through fermentation and semi-synthetic processes, with a focus on therapeutic areas such as immunosuppressants, oncology, and anti-infectives. APIs are active pharmaceutical ingredients which are used to manufacture drugs and medicines. It also provides formulations in areas like immunosuppressants, nephrology drugs, and anti-infective drugs. It has an installed fermentation capacity of 1,250 m3 as of March 31, 2023. It exports its bio-pharmaceutical APIs and formulations to over 70 countries, including the United States, Europe and Japan. It also supplies APIs in the domestic market. According to a Frost &amp; Sullivan Report, the company has a market share of over 20% by volume in fermentation-based API products, including mupirocin, sirolimus, tacrolimus, mycophenolate sodium, and cyclosporine as of 2022. Some of its listed peers include Divi’s Laboratories, Suven Pharmaceuticals, Laurus Labs and Shilpa Medicare. Financials &amp; Risk factors The company’s operational revenue increased by 19.67% to ₹853.17 crore in FY23 as compared to the year before. This growth is primarily attributed to increased sales volume to existing and new customers, as well as certain product price adjustments, the company said. Its net profit also went up by 37.24% in FY24, after slumping the year before. The company is subject to risks that come with being in the pharmaceutical sector like regulations both domestic and international; impact of exchange rate fluctuations; pricing pressures and counterfeiting. Apart from that it has listed various risks associated with the company like dependence on third-party suppliers for certain raw materials. While none of our contracts with suppliers were not renewed or cancelled in the past three financial years, the supply of raw materials from third-party suppliers may be disrupted due to various factors outside of our control, the company said, adding that they are also highly dependent on raw material imports from China. A significant portion of its revenue comes from a limited number of customers. As of March 2023, it had over 200 customers in over 70 countries. Our existing patents and trademarks may expire, and we cannot assure you that we will be able to renew them after expiry, it added. Concord Biotech’s IPO subscribed almost 25x with good interest from QIBs

New Delhi, Rare Enterprises-backed <keyword id="280979" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="concord-biotech" source="Orion">Concord Biotech</keyword> on Monday said it has fixed a price band of Rs 705-741 a share for its Rs 1,550 crore initial public offering (IPO). The initial share sale will be open for public subscription during August 4-8, the Ahmedabad-based company announced. The IPO is entirely an offer-for-sale (OFS) of 2.09 crore equity shares by Helix Investment Holdings Pte Limited, which is backed by private equity firm Quadria Capital. The offer includes a reservation for subscriptions by eligible employees. The company through its IPO will fetch Rs 1,475.26 crore and Rs 1,550.59 crore at the lower and upper end of the price band, respectively. Investors can bid for a minimum of 20 equity shares and in multiples of 20 equity shares thereafter. Concord is among the leading manufacturers of fermentation-based biopharmaceutical APIs, focused on niche segments, such as immunosuppressant, oncology, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. It has three manufacturing facilities at Valthera, Dholka, and Limbasi, in Gujarat. The company has 23 active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) products. It is backed by Quadria Capital Fund and Rare Enterprises, which was set up by billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, who passed away last year, along with his wife Rekha. Concord Biotech's revenue from operations rose 20 per cent to Rs 853.17 crore in financial year 2023 from Rs 713 crore in the previous year. Additionally, its profit after tax surged 37 per cent to Rs 240 crore in financial year 2023 compared to Rs 175 crore a year ago. And a fourth of all the funds raised, and almost half of all the offer-for-sale capital landed in the coffers of private equity and venture capital firms. Even if they’re not a part of the offer-for-sale in an issue, being part of a public listed company frees-up their shares for block deals. “IPOs are a credible exit channel for VC/PE funds. Revival of the IPO market is certainly good news for the investors. Equally good news is the performance of some of the marquee tech stocks that have been listed on the stock market in the last few years,” Fazal Ahad, managing director at Merisis Advisors told Business Insider India. Thanks to the bull run of stock markets seen since August, there have been a lot of block deals by large PE/VC investors. In as many as 29 large block deals since September, Softbank, <keyword id="526777" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="tiger-global" source="Orion">Tiger Global</keyword>, Bain and TPG sold stakes in new-age internet companies like PB Fintech, Delhivery, Zomato and Paytm, as per data by Kotak Institutional Equities. According to IVCA-EY monthly PE/VC roundup, August 2023 saw exits to the tune of $4.3 billion across 37 deals in August 2023. And, open market exits accounting for 57% of all exits by value. The best is yet to come The buzz in the primary and secondary markets coupled with the exits they provide is a sign of maturity in the VC ecosystem, say experts. And there are more to come, as per Redseer. As many as 30 unicorns that are valued over $1 billion will become IPO-ready next year. For the smaller startups, there is the SME listing route who want to hit the markets at an earlier stage of their growth. “IPOs need to be valued right as public markets still look for profitable ventures, early profitability will enable startups to get exit through SME listings which has scaled up substantially in the last two years. This will take some time to evolve for startups,” said Manoj Agarwal, co-founder &amp; managing partner, SeaFund. The discipline of being a part of the listed universe also helps companies shrug off cash burn and move towards profitability. “Listed space gives rigour especially financial rigour to companies. This is something which the VCs like and now slowly but surely, there is acceptance in the IPO story of the startups,” says Bhaskar Majumdar, Managing Partner, Unicorn India Ventures. As more and more such companies are entering a state of maturity, FY25 will be a better year for serious large-scale exit gains, opines Agarwal. In the meanwhile, it’s open season for PE/VC investors who are looking to chart their exit strategy. Private equity and VC players make a killing as IPO rush yields them ₹10,000 crore

The company’s business model engages dealer and distribution network via 1249 authorised representatives to sell and market the company's products, including sales through C&amp;F agents, securing government bids for supply to government projects, and direct sales to infrastructure projects. It competes with listed peers which includes Cords Cable Industries, Ultracab (India), V-marc India, Dynamic Cables, and Paramount Communications. The company reported 26% year-on-year growth in profit at ₹7.51 crore for FY23. Its net revenue from operations grew 3.2% to ₹182.4 crore in the same period.

Convergence of SaaS and fintech Zaggle, which was incorporated in 2011, is a SaaS and fintech company that operates in the B2B2C segment. It interacts and interfaces with customers which are businesses and end users who are employees. It claims to be a leading player in spend management, with more than 50 million prepaid cards issued in partnership with banks and more than 2.27 million users served, as of March 31, 2023. It has diverse offerings like fintech products and services, and a portfolio of SaaS, including tax and payroll software, it said in its RHP. Its profits in FY23 fell by 45% in FY23, as compared to the year before. It also experienced negative operating cash flows of ₹15.6 crore in FY23 primarily due to an increase in trade receivables of ₹58 crore. Its revenues, however, have been steadily growing due to increases in user base, accompanied by an increase in spending by the users. An increase in program fees received due to an overall increase in business scale also aided the growth. “Several factors contribute to its appeal, including a diverse client base spanning various industries, consistent revenue growth over the years, the company's expansion strategies, a diversified revenue model, and the flourishing digital payments sector,” said a report by Geojit which gave a subscribe recommendation on a short- to medium-term basis.

Another IPO DreamFolks is all set to open for subscription this week. Yet, experts are not convinced that another IPO season is on the horizon. “It’s too early to say that the season of IPOs has started. A lot of companies in the pipeline will be watching for two things – the response that the next few IPOs get and also the market momentum. The approvals for another 15 will lapse by the end of the year. “IPOs are a once-in-a-lifetime event for companies and they would want to do it at the perfect time. If the market is not giving them the valuation that they expect, they will not go ahead,” said Haldea. Only <keyword id="4093871" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="utkarsh-small-finance-bank" source="Orion">Utkarsh Small Finance Bank</keyword> has re-filed its IPO papers, even as many more companies that planned to go for an IPO in the last financial year let it lapse. Over 32 IPOs that received a go ahead in 2021-22 have been put on hold, while 31 more received an approval in 2022-23. Of these 31 from the current financial year, only Syrma and DreamWorks have gone ahead and opened their issues to the public. A lot of companies file DRHPs assuming issues will sail through but a number of factors like valuations and demand for fresh issuances among domestic and foreign investors play a key role. “There are 10-12 conditions that they have in mind during the filing and many of these conditions may change,” said Arun <keyword id="6358183" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kejriwal" source="Orion">Kejriwal</keyword>, founder of Kejriwal Research &amp; Investment Services. A lot of IPOs from last year that are still in the pipeline, had issue sizes between ₹400-800 crore. However there are a few like Emcure <keyword id="6363818" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="pharma" source="Orion">Pharma</keyword> which had plans to raise over ₹4,500 crore as well. The decision to go ahead with an IPO will not depend on the size of the issue, but on pricing, says Kejriwal. “When the momentum is good, subscriptions and listings are good, it’s possible to slip in a bad issue but not when the market is still picking up. After <keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword> capped the amount that HNIs (high networth individuals) can borrow to invest in IPOs to ₹1 crore, they will have to invest their own funds and that will make a huge difference to subscriptions,” says Kejriwal.
