Golin, a global public-relations agency, is embracing this transition with the ambitious goal of becoming the world's first fully AI-integrated PR agency by 2026.Jeff Beringer, Golin's newly appointed <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chief-artificial-intelligence-officer-job-skills-required-2024-5">chief AI officer</a>, said he hoped to weave AI into every facet of the company's operations. He told Business Insider that the company was in the "phase of enablement" as it rolls out AI-powered tools to employees and strategizes how to use AI with clients. Golin partners with companies such as Adobe to access their AI services and also develops more niche solutions in-house.Beringer, who's worked at Golin for over 20 years, stressed that public relations would always require a human touch. He said Golin wasn't looking to use AI for automation but for "intelligence augmentation."The following has been edited for clarity and length.The role of chief AI officer is new for Golin, and you're the first to have the title. Why did the company see the need for a CAIO?Our journey with AI began over two years ago when we started an incubator to explore how <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/top-artificial-intelligence-customer-experience-business-applications-2024-5">new technologies could enhance our work </a>for clients. We realized that the changes in AI are happening much faster than anticipated.Our executive leadership team asked ourselves, if we were starting this 70-year-old agency from scratch today, would it look the same? The answer was probably not.So we made a transformation plan to become the first fully AI-integrated global PR agency by the start of 2026. By fully integrated, we mean that every employee, regardless of role, specialty, or seniority, will benefit from AI's assistance.That's a lot of change in a short time, and my role spun out of that ambition. As the chief AI officer, my job is to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-the-ai-revolution-means-for-business-2024-5">orchestrate that change</a> by working with other leaders at Golin and with our clients.What specific steps has Golin made toward achieving the goal of becoming fully AI-integrated by 2026?We've mapped out a detailed plan that unfolds in phases, almost quarterly. The first step was setting the right ambition and making sure everyone in the organization understands it, and we've done that.Currently we're in the phase of enablement. We've identified the right tools for core jobs across our organization and are building or licensing the best technology to support them.We're also working with client partners to test these tools. For example, with Grubhub, we're <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://golin.com/2024/11/04/ai-in-pr-lessons-from-golin-and-grubhubs-special-delivery-campaign/">exploring how AI can improve our work</a>, from research and insights to creative content production.Can you share details about the specific AI tools, software, and services Golin is using?Our philosophy is to remain flexible and not get boxed in with specific providers. That said, we have partnerships with companies like Adobe. Adobe's Firefly technology, for example, is transformative for creative work.Besides partnering, we develop products internally. We've created a solution for influencer vetting. Using AI, we can analyze up to 10 years' worth of an influencer's online presence to identify potential risks. Before, that was both time-consuming and less thorough.We also use <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-surveillance-detects-emotion-at-work-gets-you-fired-2023-11">AI for emotive content testing</a>. Traditionally, content testing involved expensive and time-consuming focus groups. Now we use AI and facial-recognition technology to gauge real-time emotional reactions to content that hasn't been published yet.Does Golin have an engineering team on staff to develop these solutions?We have developers, but we're not a technology company. Our strategy is to work with the best partners out there.However, we're adding depth in areas like data science and data architecture because there's immense opportunity in leveraging the data we generate daily. We're hiring in these areas to better synthesize data and make more informed decisions with AI assistance.Importantly, we're not trying to replace people with server farms. Instead of AI and automation for everything, we're at intelligence augmentation. What our clients really want is a great human partner.There's a lot of interest in AI, but also a lot of criticism. How does Golin balance excitement with caution, especially with clients more wary of AI?It's evolving, and it reminds me of the early days of digital or social media. Some clients are eager to move fast, while others take a wait-and-see approach.What's different with AI is the speed at which clients have moved from being inspired to focusing on application. They want to see results, not promises.Each client is different in their appetite for AI, but many realize that if they don't embrace it, they <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-ai-extended-reality-disrupting-changing-technology-industry-2023-8">risk being left behind</a>.From a business perspective, where are you looking to see the return on investment with AI?We are focused on efficacy more than efficiency.With clients, our primary metrics are improved outcomes. We want to see that our clients are satisfied.Internally, we're looking at employee engagement and happiness. If AI helps our people spend more time on thoughtful, strategic tasks rather than routine ones, that's a win.These are the most important goals. Is our work getting better? Are our people happier in their roles? If we get those two things right, everything else will follow.

Orlando was the CEO and chairman of the SPAC, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/digital-world-acquisition-corp-and-trump-media-technology-group-corp-announce-completion-of-business-combination-1033193991">Digital World Acquisition Corporation</a>.The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Delaware's Chancery Court, alleges that Orlando and ARC Global have failed to transfer what is owed — roughly 75% to 80% of the total approximate 8.1 million shares of stock in Trump Media that ARC Global owns — to the plaintiffs.Trump Media is the operator of Trump's social media platform, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-truth-social-tmtg-stock-wealth-election-harris-x-2024-9">Truth Social.</a>Orlando, his attorneys, and attorneys for ARC Global did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Business Insider on Thursday.The lawsuit accuses the defendants of "coordinated and intentional theft of stock" and "egregious breaches of fiduciary duties" by Orlando.Orlando, the lawsuit alleges, "orchestrated a scheme with the other Defendants to divert the majority of ARC ownership interest to himself and his family through a closely held alter-ego entity named Franlu LLC" and a Cayman Islands-based entity called Belsize Ventures Ltd. Franlu and Belsize are also named as defendants in the lawsuit."In doing so, Orlando intentionally breached his fiduciary duties owed to Plaintiffs by diluting the ownership interests of the Plaintiffs," the lawsuit says. "Specifically, as Managing Member of ARC, Orlando conveyed roughly 46% of ARC's membership interest to Franlu in a secret transaction for zero consideration in exchange."The lawsuit alleges that ARC Global is diverting shares to Orlando and his "inner circle" and "liquidating remaining shares to fund Orlando's own legal defense efforts and other personal expenses on a commingled basis with ARC's own assets.""While claiming that ARC was not in position to distribute shares, Orlando has been enriching himself through a series of lavish purchases, including a brand new six-million-dollar home in Miami, from the proceeds of TMTG stock that he misappropriated," the lawsuit alleges.To date, the plaintiffs have received only a "meager fraction" of the Trump Media shares they say they are owed by ARC Global under the terms of their subscription agreements, the lawsuit says.The merger that allowed Trump Media to trade under the stock ticker DJT was completed in March, with the lock-up period ending in September, the lawsuit says."Even assuming the lock-up period stood as the hurdle to Plaintiffs receiving their Founder Shares, the lock-up period ended over one month ago," the lawsuit says.The lawsuit says that in September, Orlando emailed ARC Global members, including the plaintiffs, "claiming that 'ARC has matters that must be addressed before equity distributions are made.""As examples, Orlando listed certain 'liabilities of ARC,' including 'bona fide creditors, such as professional advisors or noteholders, as well as costs imposed upon ARC through litigation,'" the lawsuit says.The lawsuit says that Orlando emailed ARC Global members again in October "stating that '[i]nitial distributions [were] in progress,' but that 'further distributions' were only 'expected in the future.'""Orlando's email again alludes to 'attacks' on ARC and the need to 'defend itself,' without providing any explanation for how such 'attacks' affect ARC's ability to tender to subscribing investors their TMTG shares," the lawsuit continues.The <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/sec-sues-ex-ceo-spac-helped-trump-media-for-fraud-2024-7">Securities and Exchange Commission sued Orlando</a> in July, alleging that he "falsely represented" that his blank check company, Digital World Acquisition Corp., did not intend to merge with any specific company."Orlando knew these statements were false because he had personally engaged in numerous lengthy discussions with representatives of Trump Media &amp; Technology Group Corp," the SEC said in the lawsuit.The group of investors who filed the latest lawsuit against Orlando are seeking to recover their "rightful portion" of the 8.1 million stock shares, "nullify improper transactions," and monetary damages.Trump Media's stock rose 5.9% Wednesday after <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="c-link" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/election-results-trump-harris-presidential-election-2024-11">Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris</a> in the presidential election but dropped 23% Thursday, closing at $27.70.

Electric two-wheelers continue to form the bulk of electric vehicle (EV) sales in India, with EV two-wheelers making up 62% of Indian EV sales in November 2024 in terms of numbers. <h2>Ola Electric leads, but market share declines</h2>Ola Electric continues to lead the Indian electric two-wheeler market with sales of 29,191 scooters in November 2024, down from 30,073 scooters sold in November 2023. The company’s market share continues to decline, with the company commanding a market share of 24.5% in November 2024, down from 33% in November 2023. TVS Motor recorded a sale of 26,971 electric scooters in November 2024, up from 19,155 scooters sold in November 2023, recording a growth of 40.8%. The company’s market share has increased from 21% in November 2023 to 23% in November 2024. On the other hand, Bajaj Auto has emerged as a close third, with 26,163 electric scooters sold in November 2024, up from 11,843 electric scooters sold in November 2023, recording a 120.92% year-on-year growth. The company commands a 22% market share in November 2024, up from 20% in November 2023. It's not just the second spot, TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto are now inching close to Ola Electric and if the trend continues, may even dethrone the Bhavish Aggarwal-led company in the coming months. Ather Energy is in the fourth position, with 12,741 electric two-wheelers sold in November 2024, up from 9,342 scooters sold in November 2023, recording a 36.38% year-on-year growth. The company has slightly increased its market share from 10% in November 2023 to 11% in November 2024. Electric two-wheeler sales grow in November 2024 – TVS and Bajaj fight for the second spot

Life Insurance Corporation of India (<keyword id="19903588" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="LIC" source="keywords">LIC</keyword>) MD and CEO Siddhartha Mohanty has said that the corporation is looking to make fresh investments of around Rs 1.30 lakh crore in equities during the current financial year. During April-June FY25, the insurance behemoth made an investment of about Rs 38,000 crore in <keyword id="19907577" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="shares" source="keywords">shares</keyword> as against Rs 23,300 crore in the same period a year ago. LIC earned a profit of Rs 15,500 crore from its investments in equity markets during the first quarter. The profit from its investment was higher by 13.5 % quarter-on-quarter. "We are surely looking at the markets and price movements...we are looking to invest a good amount at least whatever we had invested in last financial year...LIC invested around Rs 1.32 lakh crore in FY'24," he said. The <keyword id="19913381" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="market" source="keywords">market</keyword> value of LIC's investment in stocks of various <keyword id="20027214" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="companies" source="keywords">companies</keyword> stood at around Rs 15 lakh crore at the end of June, he said. LIC has exposure in 282 companies through investment in their shares as of June 30, 2024. Total investment grew by Rs 7,30,662 crore, from Rs 42,44,852 crore in March 2023 to Rs 49,75,514 crore as of March 31, 2024. The total equity investment portfolio constitutes Rs 12,39,740 crore as against Rs 8,39,662 crore in 2022-23, whereas other investments constitute Rs 37,35,774 crore as against Rs 34,05,190 crore in 2022-23. For the June quarter 2024, LIC reported a 10% increase in net profit to Rs 10,461 crore as against Rs 9,544 crore in the year-ago period. Total income increased to Rs 2,10,910 crore during the latest June quarter as against Rs 1,88,749 crore in the year-ago period. Total premium income for the quarter increased 16 % to Rs 1,13,770 crore as compared to Rs 98,363 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Honor and Motorola take the third and fourth spots, with a 10% and a 7% market share respectively. Both companies have recorded good growth. While Honor has recorded a 121% year-on-year growth, Motorola has recorded a 164% year-on-year growth. Xiaomi is in the fifth position, with a 6% market share. The company recorded the highest year-on-year growth at 185%. This growth was driven by the Mix Flip, the company’s first clamshell smartphone. Global foldable phone shipments decline in Q3 2024, Samsung leads with 56% market share

According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC), the growth in sales was recorded due to online festival sales which began early this year. “The e-tail sales, which typically start around the second week of October, began in late September, leading to a surge in PC shipments,” said Bharath Shenoy, Research Manager, IDC India &amp; South Asia. India’s PC market reaches new high with 4.49 million shipments in Q3 2024

<ul><li>The Indian wearable market has declined for the second consecutive quarter.</li><li>The smartwatch segment has recorded a huge decline in shipments in Q3 2024.</li><li>The earwear segment has also declined, while the smart ring segment remains strong.</li></ul>The <keyword id="22725790" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-wearables-market" source="keywords">Indian wearables market</keyword> has declined for the second consecutive quarter, recording a 20.7% year-on-year decline in shipments in Q3 2024. There was a 10% decline in shipments in Q2 2024. According to a report by the International Data Corporation, 38 million devices were shipped in the country’s wearables market in Q3 2024. The decline is being attributed to a reduction in new product launches and a cautious inventory strategy. <h2>Smartwatch shipments decline</h2>The smartwatch category recorded a decline of 44.8% as shipments declined from 16.92 million devices in Q3 2023 to 9.34 million in Q3 2024. Not just the basic smartwatches, the shipments of premium smartwatches also declined by 39.9% year-on-year. The Smartwatch average selling price (ASP) however increased by 1.4% from $25.8 to $26.2. The wristband category, which remained strong in Q2 has also declined in Q3, recording a 48.4% year-on-year decline in shipments. The earwear category also struggled, with a 7.5% decline in shipments from 30.29 million in Q3 2023 to 28.52 in Q3 2024. <h2>The smart ring category continues to shine</h2>The smart ring market has remained strong, with 92 thousand smart rings shipped in Q3 2024. The quarter also recorded a decline in the average selling price of 16.2% to $162.1. A resolution through a postal ballot notice has been passed with requisite majority, the company said in a late night stock exchange filing on Wednesday. According to the postal ballot notice, the company will raise up to Rs 1,524.60 crore by preferential issue of up to 46.20 crore <keyword id="20035340" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="equity-shares" source="keywords">equity shares</keyword> and/or warrants convertible into equivalent number of equity shares at a price of Rs 33 per apiece. On September 23, the board of Reliance Power Ltd had approved raising Rs 1,524.60 crore through issue of preferential shares, wherein promoters will infuse Rs 600 crore into the company to advance its business. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="79183505" title="Happy Dhanteras 2024 messages and wishes" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> Reliance Infrastructure, the promoter of the company, will enhance its equity stake by over Rs 600 crore. The fresh fund would be utilised for expansion of business operations directly and/or through investment in subsidiaries and joint ventures, debt reduction and for general corporate purposes, the company said. The preferential issue will enhance the company's net worth from about Rs 11,155 crore to over Rs 12,680 crore, it said. Weekend wrap: Nvidia’s AI-driven surge, Indian banks’ steady growth and more

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have been rapidly exiting Indian markets, and this high-speed exodus does not look like it will stop anytime soon. In October 2024, FIIs withdrew Rs 1,14,445.89 crores from Indian markets. Yesterday, FIIs withdrew $770.67 million from the markets, with equity outflows of $440.86 million and debt outflows standing at $327.44 million across various categories. Per NSDL data, hybrid outflows amounted to $2.31 million. While this may sound dissuading at first, a recent SBI report underlined that FIIs still hold a massive $ 18.241 billion in Indian markets. So far, FY25 has seen FII inflows worth $ 8.924 billion. However, the situation may quickly turn alarming as well, given that FII holdings in Indian equities have already come down to a 12-year low. Says Anirudh Garg, Partner and Fund Manager at Invasset PMS, "The current valuation of Indian stocks, trading at around 24 times expected earnings, appears high compared to Chinese stocks, which are at approximately 10 times. Economic concerns, including weak corporate earnings and declining consumer demand, further exacerbate this situation. Additionally, renewed fears of inflation and potential monetary tightening by central banks have led FIIs to withdraw from the Indian market." In the meantime, DIIs (domestic institutional investors) are stepping in big time. During October 2024, DIIs infused Rs 1,07,254.68 crore in Indian markets. In November so far, DIIs have been keeping the fund momentum going, infusing Rs 12,265.74 crore in India, while FIIs have offloaded Rs 16,445.49 crore this month. But despite this strong uptick, SBI's recent report suggests that consumer confidence in India remains below 100, signaling muted positivity and optimism in the economy. While household consumption is gradually recovering, it grew at 4% last year, much below the 7% levels recorded pre-pandemic. <h2>FII share in <keyword id="20868945" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NSE-listed-companies" source="keywords">NSE-listed companies</keyword> takes a dip, DII stake rise </h2>FIIs share in NSE-listed companies stood at 15.98% in October, with assets under their custody in the equity segment coming to Rs 71.08 lakh crore last month. In September, this stood at Rs 77.96 crore. Experts suggest that this is likely to continue for some time to come. Mutual funds, on the other hand, saw their share in NSE-listed companies hit a record high of 9.58%, as opposed to their 9.32% stake in September 2024. FIIs turned net sellers in the debt segment as well in October, dumping $771 million in Indian markets. This comes after 2 consecutive months of healthy inflows in this segment in August and September 2024, where the figures stood at $2,806 million and $2,295 million, respectively.
