This statement triggered immediate concern and prompted the airport security team to take swift action, CIAL said in a statement.<br /><br />The airport authority said the passenger's cabin and checked baggage were thoroughly inspected by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). After completing the necessary checks, which revealed no threat, Kumar was handed over to the local police for further investigation, CIAL said.<br /><br />The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC), which was convened to assess the situation, classified the threat as "non-specific," meaning it was not credible but still required a full security response. The BTAC concluded its proceedings and the flight departed on time, CIAL added. The airport authority said the security has been heightened at all the airports in view of the Independence Day approaching.<br /><br />The Cochin International Airport has already issued an advisory urging passengers to arrive at the airport well in advance of their scheduled flights to avoid delays due to the increased security measures during this generally busy season.

RBI lacks intervention as actions slows down the pace of fall in rupee rather than temporary pull back as RBI needs to maintain foreign reserves. India's reserves are at $580,252 billion, down by $27.05 billion from March-end 2022," said Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst at LKP Securities.<br /><br />US Fed Chair <keyword id="362955" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="powell" source="Orion">Powell</keyword> at the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium made it clear that the central bank's fight against inflation was not over and Fed was likely to keep raising interest rates to stamp out inflation.<br /><br />"Restoring price stability will likely require maintaining a restrictive policy stance for some time. The historical record cautions strongly against prematurely loosening policy," Powell said.<br /><br />The dollar index, which gauges the strength of greenback against the basket of six major currencies, was at 108.845.<br /><br />"As the dollar index has shown strength from 106$ to 109 which will hold the rupee's drop in majority. Crude back again above 100$ also guides rupee weakness to continue," Trivedi added.<br /><br />Brent crude oil prices were trading at $101.46 per barrel by the closing of Indian market hours.<br /><br />On the equities front, Sensex ended 861.25 points or 1.46 per cent down at 57,972.62, and <keyword id="6354813" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="nifty" source="Orion">Nifty</keyword> ended 246.00 points or 1.40 per cent lower at 17,312.90. Kochi, May 6 () Ahead of commencing theiroperations to airlift stranded Indians in foreigncountries, the pilots and cabin crew of the first batch of AirIndia Express evacuation flight on Wednesday got to know howto handle inflight operations at the time of the COVID-19pandemic.<p>  Doctors and nurses of a government medicalcollege (GMC)hospital here, experts in handling COVID-19patients, imparted training to 12 airline staff including fourpilots, ahead of their departure from Kochi to participate inthe biggest evacuation operation of Indian history.</p><p>  The pilots and cabin crew were provided trainingin all the steps on donning and doffing of Personal ProtectiveEquipment (PPE) suits, infection control practices to befollowed inflight and also the management of anticipatedhealth emergencies during the flight, the medical collegeauthorities said here.</p><p>  A practical demonstration of both donning anddoffing of PPE suites according to the protocol was also givento the crew.</p><p> They were also provided with practice kits.</p><p>  "The training given by GMC Ernakulam has helpedto build up the confidence level of the entire crewconsiderably and we are now fully confident to undertake therescue mission," said Captain Paartha Sarkar.</p><p>  The expert panel was headed by medical collegeRMO Dr Ganesh Mohan, doctors Manoj Antony, Gokul Sanjeevan andinfection control staff nurse Vidhya.</p><p>  Medical superintendent Dr Peter Vazhayil hasoffered further training sessions for air personnel, ifrequested by the Airline companies.</p><p>  A Cochin International Airport spokesman saidthere will be only one Air India Express flight operating onMay 7 to airlift passengers stranded Keralites.</p><p>  The flight carrying evacuated citizens from AbuDhabi will land at the Cochin International Airport Limited at9.40 pm on Thursday, he said.</p>  The other (Doha-Kochi) flight, scheduled forThursday's operation, has been rescheduled to Saturday, headded. <keyword id="42747" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Motors">Tata Motors</keyword> and <keyword id="45008" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Power">Tata Power</keyword> have jointly set up <keyword id="3658" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>'s largest grid-synchronized, behind-the-meter solar carport at the Tata Motors car plant in Chikhali, Pune.<br /><br />The 6.2 MW solar carport deployed by Tata Power will generate 86.4 lakh kWh of electricity per year and is estimated to reduce 7,000 tons of carbon emissions annually and 1.6 lakh tons over its lifecycle.<br /><br />Spanning over 30,000 square meters, this carport will not only generate green power, but will also provide covered parking for finished cars in the plant.<br /><br />Envisioned as part of its net zero carbon goal for 2039, Tata Motors had entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Tata Power on August 31, 2020. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, both companies managed to develop this carport infrastructure in a record time of 9.5 months.<br /><br />Speaking on the occasion, Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, "At Tata Motors, we have consciously anchored sustainability in every aspect of our business by striving for more meaningful ways to reduce our impact on the planet, whilst providing exciting products and sustainable solutions to our customers. Tata Motors and Tata Power have jointly set up India's largest solar carport, aims to reduce 7,000 tonnes of carbon emissions

Kochi, May 20 () A 105-member medical team from Kerala left for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a mission to treat COVID-19 patients there early on Wednesday, as part of an initiative of VPS healthcare group based in the gulf nation. <p>The team comprising nurses and other healthcare pesonnel included 30 employees of VPS health care group, who were stranded in Kerala due to the lockdown after coming on a vacation, a release from the company said. </p><p>All the members departed to Abu Dhabi from Cochin international airport on a specially chartered Etihad aircraft. </p><p>The team members will be working in the critical care units of various COVID-19 designated hospitals across the emirates. </p><p>This will further strengthen the efforts of the UAE government in combating COVID-19, it said. </p><p>The travel date was decided after the medical team received the nod from the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Health in both countries, it added. </p><p>Of the 105 members who arrived in the UAE, 75 are recruits from India who have come to join the gulf nation's battle against the pandemic. </p><p>VPS Healthcare Director (India) Hafiz Ali Ullat said,"We extend our deep gratitude to the governments of India and the UAE, and the state government of Kerala for its support of this medical mission." </p><p>"In UAE, we have been working with the government from the beginning. </p><p>Sending a medical team is a part of our continuous effort in supporting the government there during this pandemic. </p><p>The medical team will be following all the travel guidelines and maintain social distancing norms even on the flight," he said. </p><p>Vinod Sebastian, a senior nurse among the medical team, said it was a proud moment for each of them. </p><p>"It is our duty to serve and treat the patients during this unprecedented crisis. For the majority of the nurses in the medical team, it is their maiden journey to a foreign country. </p><p>.. we are very confident and motivated. We are taking it up as a challenge," he said. All the members of the team underwent a COVID-19 test on Sunday and all of them tested negative, the release said. </p>The travel of the nurses to Kochi was facilitated by the Office of the Kerala Chief Minister.
