However, it may not suffice the current requirement to fight climate change. Moreover the allocation to Central <keyword id="91132" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="20" keywordseo="pollution-control">Pollution Control</keyword> Board (CPCB) has been stagnant for the past two years around ₹100 crore. Climate change cost India over 2000 lives and $37 billion in just a year India suffered an economic loss of $37 billion due to climate change in 2018, according to a Global Climate Risk Index 2020. That is an extremely high amount as it lost ($79.5 billion between 1998-2017. Over the past five years, India has always suffered one of the five highest economic losses because of climate change, says India spend. Apart from economic losses, India also witnessed many deaths due to extreme weather conditions. In 2018 alone, the country reported 2,081 deaths due to cyclones, floods, landslides etc. Poverty, wide social gap are some reasons that make Indians most vulnerable to climate change. Experts believe the government is unlikely to make any significant changes in the current policies to fight the environment. India lost $37 bn and over 2,000 people to extreme climate — yet there might be no change in India’s environment budget

Climate change is real, and it's coming. But we're all going to be affected in different ways. How will your country fare?
The folks at Eco Experts put together a great infographic based on data from the <a href="http://index.gain.org/">Notre Dame Global Adaptation (ND-Gain) Index</a>, an annual ranking of which countries are best poised to adapt to a warming world.
While the maps provide a great zoomed-out perspective of what's going to happen globally as the earth warms, there are a few caveats to keep in mind when checking it out, however:
First, these maps are based on country rankings, not comprehensive evaluations of each country. In other words, the best-ranked countries are only as great as they seem compared to the countries that are performing less well.
Additionally, the ranking looks only at the level of entire countries. All of the state-specific, region-specific, or city-specific data gets somewhat lost in this zoomed out perspective.
Take the United States, for example. It gets a green-light on this map. But what about specific parts of the US that aren't as well-equipped to handle climate change as the country might be on average? Miami Beach, Florida, for instance, is poised to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/map-of-miami-when-sea-levels-rise-2014-4">see sea levels rise between 6-7 feet by the end of the century</a>; most of the city is less than 10 feet above sea level. Multiple parts of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/new-york-city-climate-change-risk-2014-11">New York City are similarly vulnerable to climate change</a>.
Thankfully, the US as a whole has the infrastructure to adapt; the government can force people in coastal cities like Miami Beach to move inland; we can also build new airports and transit hubs closer to the center of the country. And the map reflects countries' abilities to do just that.

The tools, called Heat Factor, Wind Factor, and Air Factor, are available starting Wednesday and can map out a neighborhood's risks of above-normal days on the heat index, chances of experiencing wind gusts over 50 mph, and days of poor air quality.The tools also show the projected increase in these events over the next 30 years. They're in panic mode," insurance executive Oscar Seikaly said last year.Some insurance companies have pulled out of California and Florida over concerns about increasingly volatile wildfires and hurricanes, respectively. In some California towns, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-insurers-will-shape-where-people-live-climate-change-2023-7">homeowners can no longer find property insurance</a>, while the Florida condo market has ground <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/florida-condo-owners-prices-drop-insurance-hoa-taxes-increase-2023-3">to a halt over rising insurance costs</a>. How are you going to stop it?"<h2>Understanding your home's climate risk</h2>Prior to releasing the heat, wind, and air quality tools, Realtor.com already provided fire and flood risks for properties based on data from First Street. First Street, a climate-risk firm, is also behind the data on extreme heat, wind, and air quality now added to listings.The firm's <a target="_blank" href="https://firststreet.org/press/first-street-releases-10th-national-risk-assessment-atrocious-air">air-quality data</a> includes two common pollutants: particulate matter, often caused by wildfire smoke, and ozone, which<a target="_blank" href="https://www.epa.gov/ozone-pollution-and-your-patients-health/what-ozone"> is the result of reactions</a> between other pollutants from chemical plants, tailpipes, and power plants.<div type="image" title="A property listing on Realtor.com shows the projected increase in days with poor air quality over 30 years." height="2318" width="2000" msid="108474512" hostid="261" sizebytes="77774"></div>The new risk scores will help homebuyers make an informed decision about whether to go through with a purchase, Realtor.com Chief Economist Danielle Hale told BI.Hale added that the company has studied whether property-level climate risk data shifts homebuying decisions. The answer is complicated because people consider many different factors before buying a home. How recently a flood or fire happened in the area tends to have an impact.But affordability often trumps climate-risk calculations, she said."It is often the case that homes in areas with the greatest risk of fire also tend to be the cheapest on a per-square-foot basis," Hale said, pointing to parts of California <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/california-hotter-drier-lightning-fires-bigger-2020-8">where catastrophic wildfires are increasing</a>.Surveys show that affordability remains the top priority even as homebuyers increasingly consider climate and environmental hazards. Zillow found that 36% of millennials and 19% of Gen Z homebuyers they surveyed <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/millennials-buying-homes-stress-about-climate-risk-2023-9">were considering moving to areas with climate risks</a>.Meanwhile, an <a target="_blank" href="https://investors.redfin.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/1047/redfin-reports-people-are-moving-out-of-areas-with-poor-air">analysis by Redfin found</a> that about 1.2 million more homeowners and renters moved out of than into cities with high risk of poor air quality between 2021 and 2022. But more space, proximity to family, and getting a better deal on a home were the most common reasons home sellers cited for moving — not air quality. Many of the movers headed to Sun Belt states where heat, flooding, and hurricanes are more likely."I do think it's important for people to realize just how much property is at risk, especially when we've been building a lot of homes in the South and in the West that are most likely to face extreme heat risk," Hale said.
