The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class X results on Monday. The overall <keyword id="20123359" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pass-percentage" source="keywords">pass percentage</keyword> of 93.60 per cent was recorded. Passing percentage has increased by 0.48 per cent since last year. 25724 schools gave the CBSE class X examinations at 7603 centres. The Trivandrum region registered the highest pass percentage at 99.75 per cent whereas the lowest has been recorded at Guwahati which stood at 77.94 per cent. In the overall Delhi region, a 98.61 per cent pass percentage was recorded. 94.75 per cent of Girls passed the exam whereas 92.71 per cent of boys passed the exam with the Girls outshining boys by 2.04 per cent. Students who sat for the CBSE Class 10 board exams nationwide can view their mark sheets on the <keyword id="21637011" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="CBSE-official-website" source="keywords">CBSE official website</keyword>, cbse.gov.in. The other official websites where CBSE 10th results can be checked are - cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.nic.in, digilocker.gov.in, results.gov.in. The results can also be checked on mobile apps- Digilocker and UMANG. In regards to the Class 10 exams, CBSE stated that Science, Mathematics, and Social Science were chosen by 22,62,692 students each. These exams took place over three days at 7612 examination centres, utilising 94,279 rooms, with the assistance of 1,88,558 Assistant Superintendents. CBSE class X examinations were held from February 15 to March 13, 2024. Approximately 39 lakh students appeared for Class 10 and 12 examinations. Students must score a minimum of 33 per cent marks to pass the CBSE class 10 and 12 exams. Looking at the past year's trends, in 2023, the CBSE results were announced on May 12. While in the year 2022, it was declared on July 22. Earlier, CBSE declared Class XII. 87.98 per cent of students passed the board exams. Passing percentage increased by 0.65 per cent since last year. 18417 schools gave the CBSE class XII examinations at 7126 centres. This year the overall pass percentage is 87.98 a 0.65 percent increase since 2023. The Trivandrum region registered the highest pass percentage at 99.91 per cent. CBSE Class 10 board exam results declared

Over 65 lakh students did not pass <keyword id="19951608" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="class-10" source="keywords">class 10</keyword> and 12 <keyword id="19954615" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="board-exams" source="keywords">board exams</keyword> across the country last year with the failure rate being higher in <keyword id="22866974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="state-boards" source="keywords">state boards</keyword> than the central board, according to Ministry of Education (<keyword id="20349630" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="MoE" source="keywords">MoE</keyword>) officials. An analysis of class 10 and 12 results of 59 school boards, including 56 state boards and three national boards, revealed that more girls appeared in class 12 exam from government-managed schools but it is opposite in private schools and government-aided schools. "Around 33.5 lakh students of class 10 are not reaching next grade. While 5.5 lakh candidates did not appear, 28 lakh failed. This is one of the cause for low retention rate and Gross Enrolment Ration (GER) at higher secondary level," a senior MoE official said. Similarly, around 32.4 lakh class 12 students did not complete the grade. While 5.2 lakh did not appear, 27.2 lakh failed. In class 10, the student failure rate in central board stood at 6 per cent while that of state boards was much higher at 16 per cent. In class 12, the failure rate at central board is 12 per cent while that of state boards is 18 per cent. The ministry officials noted that the open school performance was poor in both the classes. The highest number of student failure in class 10 was in Madhya Pradesh board followed by Bihar and UP. While in class 12, the highest student failure was reported from Uttar Pradesh followed by Madhya Pradesh. "Overall performance of students in 2023 declined in comparison with previous year. This could be due to larger syllabus for examination," the official said. More girls appeared for class 10 and 12 board exams from government schools than boys. "This may reflect gender bias while spending on education by parents. However, girls dominates in pass performance across government, aided and private schools," the official said. Over 65 lakh students failed class 10, 12 exams in 2023; higher failure rate in state boards: MoE

"Prachi Nigam of Sitapur district was the <keyword id="19951608" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Class-10" source="keywords">Class 10</keyword> topper with 98.50 per cent marks. Shubham Verma, also from Sitapur, stood first in the <keyword id="19981413" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Class-12" source="keywords">Class 12</keyword> exam with 97.80 per cent," Education (Secondary) Director Mahendra Dev told PTI. The board conducted the examination in a "record-breaking" number of days, Dev said. "For the first time, the exam was conducted in a record 12 working days. The evaluation of answer sheets was completed in the same number of working days," he added. The officer said 27,49,364 (27.49 lakh) candidates -- 14,39,243 (14.39 lakh) boys and 13,10,121 (13.10 lakh) girls -- appeared for the Class 10 exam. Of the total, 86.05 per cent boys and 93.40 per cent girls cleared the exam. For Class 12, the number of candidates was 24,52,830 (24.52 lakh) -- 13,41,356 (13.41 lakh) boys and 11,11,474 (11.11 lakh) girls, Dev said. The pass percentage was 77.78 for boys and 88.42 for girls.

Officials said 91.52 per cent girls cleared the <keyword id="19957604" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="exam" source="keywords">exam</keyword>, 6.40 percentage points higher than boys' pass percentage. "A total of 24,068 students have scored above 95 per cent marks while 1,16,145 students have scored above 90 per cent," an official said. More than 1.22 lakh candidates have been placed in 'compartment'. The number this year is slightly less than that of last year, the officials said. This time, more than 16.21 lakh candidates appeared for the exam which was conducted at 7,126 centres. CBSE Class 12 results: 87.98% students pass exams, girls outshine boys

New Delhi, The <keyword id="21270982" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="supplementary-exams" source="keywords">supplementary exams</keyword> for classes 10 and 12 will be conducted from July 15, Central Board of Secondary Education (<keyword id="19976140" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="CBSE" source="keywords">CBSE</keyword>) officials announced on Monday. Over 1.32 lakh candidates have been placed in the supplementary category or compartment in <keyword id="19951608" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="class-10" source="keywords">class 10</keyword>, while the number of such candidates in <keyword id="19981413" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="class-12" source="keywords">class 12</keyword> is over 1.22 lakh. Based on <keyword id="19919114" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Education-Policy" source="keywords">National Education Policy</keyword>, 2020 recommendations, the CBSE had last year changed the nomenclature of the compartment examination to supplementary examination. According to CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj, class 12 students will be allowed to improve their performance in one subject in the supplementary examination and class 10 students will be allowed to improve their performance in two subjects in the supplementary examination. "Three categories of students will be eligible to appear in the supplementary examinations -- class 10 students who were unable to pass two subjects and class 12 students who were unable to pass one subject and were placed in compartment category; students who were declared pass by replacing sixth or seventh subject; and class 10 and 12 students who were declared pass but wish to improve their performance in two and one subject respectively," Bhardwaj said.

Class 10, 12 supplementary exams to be conducted from July 15: CBSE

New Delhi, The Central Board of Secondary Education (<keyword id="6356155" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbse" source="Orion">CBSE</keyword>) on Tuesday announced date sheet for class 10 and 12 board exams with the examination for both classes beginning from February 15. The class 10 exams will conclude on March 13 and the class 12 exams will end on April 2. "While preparing the date sheet, the board has kept in mind that there is sufficient gap between two subjects. Dates of competitive exams like JEE have been kept in mind while deciding schedule for class 12," Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said.

During this time, she woke up at 4 a.m. and studied for at least 10-12 hours each day.Some prefer to take an easier route.The Journal found that several students had paid $15,000-20,000 to illegally look at the question paper before the exam. BI could not independently verify the figures.The police made multiple arrests related to exam cheating after results showed that 67 people received perfect scores in the NEET exams this year."Question papers are sold at extravagantly high prices," Ashok Rathore, a police officer who investigated cheating linked to India's medical school exam, told the Journal. "It's a nexus of desperate students, parents, tuition centers and printing presses."<h2 id="378edaf6-be36-458e-8847-661e66638c81">Leaked questions</h2>One student told BI that several Telegram channels dedicated to exam prep saw messages encouraging students "struggling with exams and don't have time for studies" to get in touch for "help.""My friend said he was asked to pay around 15,000 rupees ($180) to enter the private channel where they shared the questions," she said.BI reached out to the Telegram account offering "help". The person said they can provide next year's medical entrance exam questions for around 1 lakh rupees ($1,200).High ranks in these exams mean coveted "seats" in medical colleges operated by the state and national governments. Those with money can still legally obtain places in private medical colleges if they pay fees ranging from $115,000 to $145,000.However, some students with the financial capacity prefer cheating and getting a government seat instead."It makes very good economic sense," a senior medical advisor with knowledge of the matter told BI. "The question paper will be given for about 25 lakh rupees (around $29,000). For that much, they get a free seat in a government college where they only have to pay around 16,000 rupees ($190) per annum.""For the entire five-year degree, that still only comes to around one lakh rupees ($1191), so of course rich students would rather do that instead of paying their way into private medical schools."<h2 id="4ff61c3d-756d-47c9-8f47-2f6be9f1f6a0">Earning a 'merit' seat</h2>The advisor — who preferred to remain anonymous but whose identity is known to BI — also said there is a significant amount of respect that comes with having "earned" a merit seat instead of paying their way into a private "management" seat."Unfortunately, there are very few objective metrics that people have as outsiders to judge the competence of their doctors, especially at a time when everybody in India sits with an MBBS board outside their clinic," agreed Asish George, a doctor who cleared the entrance exam in 2014."For those people, the fact that someone cracked a highly competitive entrance exam and got in would inspire more confidence than someone who paid their way through the whole thing."According to the Journal, authorities in India have tried to install video cameras inside exam halls and increased their monitoring of social media to catch cheaters. But many are still finding ways to illegally gain the upper hand, at a high price. The NTA did not immediately respond to a request by BI for comment.

Tamil Nadu Class 12 results declared: State records 94.03 pass per cent, Kanyakumari tops list

New Delhi [India], September 13 (ANI): The Central Board of Secondary Education (<keyword id="6356155" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbse" source="Orion">CBSE</keyword>) on Wednesday issued an advisory for students and parents regarding the <keyword id="3416876" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="practice-papers" source="Orion">practice papers</keyword> it has released for all major subjects of Classes 10 and 12. The board in its notice has warned students and schools that these sample papers should be accessed from the official website - cbseacademic.nic.in - and need not be purchased from any private publisher. "As per NEP 2020 recommendations, the Board had initiated competency-focused education and assessment in its affiliated schools and has recently released practice papers in all major subjects of Classes X and XII," read the notice by CBSE. "These practice papers have been developed to facilitate the students in solving more application-based questions of higher-order thinking skills and enhance conceptual understanding of topics," it said "It has come to the notice of the board that schools and students are being asked to access the CBSE practice papers from certain private publishers sites. The public is advised not to be misled by any claims and promotions" the advisory read. The registration procedure for the board exams 2024 for private students began on September 12 on its official website - cbse.gov.in. Students can proceed with the registration after the release of the form. The deadline to submit the registration form is October 11 and students can submit the form till October 19 with a late of Rs 300 per subject. (ANI)

And when it drops as a result of this post-pandemic thought of being back in the office, then I think you have to start to look at, well, I have this space. What are the needs for the community, for the location? And in New York, it just happens to be residential."Washington DC, New York City, Dallas, Chicago, and Los Angeles have recorded the most office-to-apartment conversion starts this year, with a combined 19,462 conversions in the pipeline, Yardi data shows.Commutes will likely be shorter on average, and cities with many vacant offices could see more stores, restaurants, and theaters creep into the mix, Barkham says. He notes, though, that changes won't happen overnight."You will see vacant buildings, and you will see see-through offices for some considerable time," Barkham said.

The board has also decided to scrap awarding first, second and third divisions based on students' scores, officials said. "No merit list will be declared by the CBSE to avoid unhealthy competition among students. However, the board will issue merit certificates to 0.1 per cent of students who have scored the highest marks in the various subjects," a senior board official said. The pass percentage is higher than the 83.40 recorded in 2019 in the pre-Covid period, the official added. The pass percentage last year was 92.71. Girls continued to outshine boys, recording a six percentage point higher passing rate. Over 16.60 lakh students appeared for the Class 12 examination. The Trivandrum region recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.91 while the Prayagraj region reported the lowest at 78.05. Over 1.25 lakh students have been placed in the compartment category.
