Chauhan told BI she prefers to pit cherries with a metal straw.It's the perfect size and strong enough to push out the pit without destroying the fruit.<h2>No avocado slicer is necessary if you have a reliable knife</h2>You won't find an avocado slicer in Chauhan's kitchen.For her, a sharp paring knife is much more effective. And it can do many kitchen tasks beyond just slicing an avocado.Still, she said, it's worth using an avocado slicer if it helps you feel more confident cutting the fruit. Instead, she just uses a pot."I cook my rice like I cook my pasta. I soak it, I boil it in a lot of water, then I drain the water," she said.This way, she said, she's draining off a lot of the starch, making this "almost a healthier way to eat rice."<h2>You won't find a fancy nugget ice maker in her kitchen</h2><a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/opal-nugget-ice-maker-indiegogo-hands-on-2018-8">Countertop nugget ice makers</a> have been trending for a while now, but Chauhan would rather skip this device and enjoy having extra counterspace."I don't need an ice maker," she told BI. "That's what your freezer is for."<h2>Chauhan skips the cheapest spices on the shelf</h2>If she's not making spices from scratch, she looks to Indian spices because they have a high potency.She also recommends that home cooks look for higher-quality spices to give their dishes more robust flavors."The cheaper the ingredient, the lesser the potency of the flavors is going to be," Chauhan said.But you don't have to buy the most expensive item on the shelf. Instead, she recommends looking for options in the middle.<h2>She also skips truffle oil and creamy dressings</h2>Chauhan <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/judges-share-ingredients-they-want-people-to-stop-using-on-cooking-shows">avoids truffle oil</a>, a polarizing artificially flavored ingredient. She said she'll generally try to avoid artificially flavored or highly processed ingredients, from cheese in a can to store-bought salad dressings."I don't like to keep creamy dressings because I know that chemicals have been used to emulsify it," Chauhan told BI.Plus, she said, anybody can make a dressing in two minutes.To <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/chefs-favorite-homemade-salad-dressings-2019-6">make an easy creamy dressing</a>, she puts high-quality olive or avocado oil in a blender, then adds salt, pepper, and her spices of choice. She blends starting at a low speed, then slowly increases the speed while adding vinegar until the dressing reaches a creamy consistency.<h2>On the other hand, a stand mixer is a must-have in this chef's kitchen</h2><div type="image" title="A standing mixer on a purple checkered background" height="1500" width="2000" msid="107559577" hostid="261"></div>One of Chauhan's most-used kitchen gadgets is her stand mixer.She uses it to knead dough for the fresh rotis and flatbreads she makes every day. That way, she can cook from scratch while still multitasking to get meals on the table for her family."While the stand mixer is doing the work, I am making the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-happens-if-you-eat-vegetables-every-day-for-a-month-photos">vegetables that go along with my dish</a>," she added.<h2>This former pastry chef appreciates an apple corer</h2>Chauhan swears by using a paring knife for many kitchen tasks, but when prepping apples, she reverts to her pastry-chef shortcut of using an apple corer."I started off as a pastry student, so if I'm making some pies and stuff, I would definitely use an apple corer," she said.<h2>Don't skip out on a salad spinner, either</h2>In addition to making her own dressings, Chauhan upgrades her salads by using a salad spinner to dry her greens."When you wash your greens, you do not want that water to linger," she added. "You want that water to be completely spun out so that the vinegarette or the dressing really coats each and every leaf."<h2>Chauhan has recently become an air-fryer fan</h2>The chef recently added an <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/making-cookies-different-methods-oven-air-fryer-microwave-best-one">air fryer</a> to her kitchen, and she's already enjoying it."It's actually very convenient," she told BI. "Instead of putting on the oven and preheating and stuff, you just put things in the air fryer. It's working very well for me."<h2>A pressure cooker is a staple for Indian cooking</h2>She owns an Instant Pot, and uses it to cook all her lentils."I grew up in India, so each and every recipe starts off with a pressure cooker and ends with a pressure cooker," she told BI.<h2>Above all, she said, the best tool in any kitchen is a basic spoon</h2>According to Chauhan, a spoon is one of the most useful tools in a kitchen that could replace several unitaskers."The best way to peel ginger is with a spoon," she said. Gangubai Kathiawadi tops technical awards at 23rd IIFA's music-loaded opening

Bisleri is India's largest packaged water company. Reports also said that Chauhan, aged 82, does not have a successor to take Bisleri to the next level of expansion. In an <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/india/tata-consumer-to-acquire-bisleri-for-about-7000-crore/articleshow/95726148.cms">interview to ET </a>last year, Chauhan had said that he believed the Tata Group "will nurture and take care of it even better," while it was still a painful decision for him. "I like the Tata culture of values and integrity and hence made up my mind despite the aggression shown by other interested buyers," he said. Later the companyacquired the struggling Bisleri brand in 1969. Bisleri has 150 operational plants and a network of 6,000 distributors and 7,500 trucks across India and neighbouring countries. For this, he is constantly referred to as the father of modern financial derivatives. He is also the creator of Nifty, and was instrumental in setting-up screen based trading. A lot of market experts believe that his appointment signals NSE’s ambitions to go public. After he quit NSE in 2000, he worked at various positions at various Reliance group entities like Reliance Infocomm, Reliance Communications and Reliance Industries. Chouhan even worked at Mumbai Indians briefly before joining BSE as its deputy CEO and rising to the position of CEO, in the 12 years that he worked there. The governing board of NSE has appointed an internal executive committee comprising of Yatrik Vin, Group CFO head of corporate affairs; Priya Subbaraman as the chief regulatory officer, and more; to run the affairs in the interim. This committee will be dissolved once the new CEO assumes charge, it said. Meet the new CEO of NSE Ashish Chauhan, creator of Nifty and father of derivatives

New Delhi, March 17 (IANS) While <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="India" source="Orion">India</keyword> still awaits to experience the 5G technology, the sales penetration of 5G-capable smartphones reached 51 per cent globally in January this year, surpassing the penetration of 4G smartphones for the first time, a new report showed on Thursday. China, North America, and Western Europe were the biggest drivers of this growth. China had the highest 5G penetration in the world at 84 per cent in January. The push for 5G from Chinese telecom operators, combined with the readiness of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to supply competitively priced 5G smartphones to consumers, enabled this growth, according to Counterpoint Research. "After Apple shifted to 5G in October 2020 with the iPhone 12 Series, North America and Western Europe saw a natural increase in the sales penetration of 5G smartphones," said research analyst <keyword id="3007298" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="karn-chauhan" source="Orion">Karn Chauhan</keyword>. This demand is also fuelled by iPhone users who are ready for new devices after years of holding on to their older <keyword id="57315" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="iphones" source="Orion">iPhones</keyword>. For many, holding periods are nearing four years, the average replacement cycle for iPhones. "Thanks to the affordable chips offered by MediaTek and <keyword id="104695" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="qualcomm" source="Orion">Qualcomm</keyword>, Android 5G smartphones entered the mid-to-high ($250-$400) price segment and are now trickling down to the $150-$250 price range, contributing one-fifth of the 5G sales in January," Chauhan said. Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Latin America are the next focus areas for OEMs to increase 5G penetration. 5G models in the sub-$150 price segment are the sweet spot for these regions, which are currently dominated by 4G. "The low-end 5G SoC is priced more than $20 at present. Once it comes down to sub-$20, we will start seeing 5G smartphones in the budget segment," said the report. The brand still induces immense nostalgic pangs in many of us who are taken back to summer afternoons or train rides that would be incomplete without the brand. Much before it was bought over by Coca-Cola in 1993, <keyword id="115414" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ramesh-chauhan" source="Orion">Ramesh Chauhan</keyword> of <keyword id="848402" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="parle-bisleri" source="Orion">Parle Bisleri</keyword> had launched Limca, after the massively popular <keyword id="11908501" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gold-spot" source="Orion">Gold-Spot</keyword>. The aim back then was to create something close to the much-loved nimbu paani. From there to now, a lot has changed. Over the years, it has kept innovating, to stay relevant in the segment. While the beverage has continued being a part of many Indians’ lives, its Limca Book of Records has also become an aspirational property people want to be a part of. In fact, this year marks the 30th year of its popular Limca Book of Records. This year’s edition has been dedicated to the frontline warriors who have courageously led the battle against the pandemic. The brand’s marketing strategies have evolved too. Today, it is slowly moving away from its traditional ‘lime and lemony’ image to its new positioning as an ‘enhanced hydration offering’ that swiftly hydrates and revives everyday consumers, as they push their boundaries to get closer to their goals. We recently got talking with Arnab Roy, Vice President, Marketing, Coca-Cola India and SouthWest Asia to understand not just the relevance of the Limca Book of Records but also to chart brand Limca’s marketing journey and how it has managed to stay relevant in today’s highly dynamic market. Excerpts: Q) This year marks the 30th year of the Limca Book of Records. Walk us through the property's journey so far. Why did a product like Limca think of coming up with a book of records 30 years ago? Limca Book of Records (LBR) is an extension of brand Limca. Launched in India in 1990, it is the second book of records in the world after the Guinness Book of World Records. From then on, there has been no looking back. Since the inception of LBR 30 years ago, the book has stood as a testimony to the stellar achievements by people in various fields such as science and technology, adventure, human endeavor, structures, education, defense, government, business, cinema, the natural world, literature, and the arts. The book has successfully identified people who have the spirit to excel and follow their goal with single-minded passion. It lays emphasis on the unique achievements of our citizens and is a salute to all those people who want to do something different and be remembered for their distinctive deeds. Being the first of its kind in the country, this book has been an instant hit with people across generations. The book has been well-received over the years and the proof can be seen in the ever-increasing number of record-holders and record-breakers that approach the book each day. Q) How is this year's edition different? How has the property managed to stay relevant? This is the 30th edition of LBR and for us, it is all the more special as it coincides with the brand commemorating 50 years since its inception in 1971. This year’s LBR is a joint edition of the years 2020-2022 which celebrates stellar victories and accomplishments in human endeavor, structures, education, defense, government, science and technology, adventure, business, cinema, the natural world, literature, and the arts. This year’s edition also honors and celebrates the undefeated spirit of COVID-19 frontline warriors who have courageously led the battle against Covid 19, with a spotlight on their selfless acts of kindness along with showcasing the extraordinary talent and achievers across the country. Featuring over 4,000 records, this edition has managed to masterfully leverage distinct display pages, reader-friendly infographics, and charts to make it more visually appealing. Along with fascinating new records, this edition also includes Record Rewind and Super 30 capsules of previous records. Q) This year also marks 50 years of Limca. Walk me through the evolution of Brand Limca. India is one of the biggest markets for carbonated drinks. What kind of popularity does it enjoy here now, with so many other glitzier options in the market that also spend a lot on marketing? Limca - Coca-Cola India’s homegrown beverage brand has for long stood as the ultimate thirst-quencher and is widely acclaimed for its unparalleled ability to instill a feeling of freshness in the minds and bodies of its consumers. This year, as we celebrate 50 years of the brand, Limca has moved away from its traditional ‘lime and lemony’ image to its new positioning as an ‘enhanced hydration offering’ that swiftly hydrates and revives everyday consumers, as they push their boundaries to get closer to their goals. Limca’s brand evolution and new positioning draws attention to Limca’s ability to provide full-body rejuvenation so that consumers can be their best selves in every situation. Limca, as a brand, resonates the spirit and imagery of ordinary, everyday people of India (earthy, self-made) and has a long, deep rooted Indian connection, catering to regional markets including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This year, the brand is seen to become more intrinsic and functional in nature with the overarching aim of reaching a wider set of consumers. This year, Limca has evolved from being a traditional ‘sparkling’ drink to ‘the ultimate rejuvenator and refresher’. Lime-Lemon based replenishment is the core benefit of Master Brand Limca - designed specially to provide rejuvenation to consumers sweating it out in real life. Q) How has Limca's communication in India evolved over the past few decades? We haven't seen a lot of high decibel campaigns from the brand. How are you continuing to build a connect with consumers? Is a lot of Limca's popularity still because of a <keyword id="6463276" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="nostalgia" source="Orion">nostalgia</keyword> factor or is the younger population opting for the brand too? Historically, Limca’s communication has strongly been rooted in bringing alive freshness and refreshment codes. With Limca’s credentials being very strong there, we decided to reposition the brand in 2021 to make it more functional as its serves a bodily need and is not just a thirst quencher. The 2021 ‘Mat Thak Campaign’ pays an ode to the ‘doers’ in life. The new positioning draws attention to Limca’s ability to provide full-body rejuvenation. We are committed to investing on the brand in the coming years as we believe it can play a bigger role going ahead. Nostalgia and heritage are an integral part of Limca’s loyalty and brand love, but we believe that it caters to a need-state, very relevant across young adults, and the brand is engaging with them through multiple platforms. Q) Is Limca more popular in urban markets or do the rural markets equally enjoy the drink? More than urbanity, geographical relevance is more appropriate in the case of Limca. The brand has a strong consumer base in North Indian markets like Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. It also has loyal consumers in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh-Telangana. This is pervasive across urban and rural areas. Q) Where will the next phase of growth for Limca come from? Over the last one and a half years, we witnessed some of the most awe-inspiring stories which restored our faith in humanity despite being one of the most challenging times in human history. Limca Book of Records is seen as a comprehensive chronicle of India’s remarkable facets and successes. Featuring the extraordinary record holders has been a privilege for us. Limca pays an ode to the doers and signifies its role as an enhanced hydration offering to provide full body rejuvenation. The brand will continue to evolve and explore new avenues and meaningful associations going forward.

As Limca celebrates its 50th year, here’s a look at how its brand positioning has evolved

<ul><li><keyword id="133159" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Parle-Agro">Parle Agro</keyword> launched a new product this week called <keyword id="10127022" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="B-Fizz">B-Fizz</keyword> and earmarked Rs 40 crore for its marketing campaign solely for this calendar year. </li><li>On the back of a strong marketing and pricing strategy, Parle Argo is aiming to make B-Fizz a ₹1000-crore-brand in the next couple of years.</li><li><keyword id="235731" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nadia-Chauhan">Nadia Chauhan</keyword>, Joint Managing Director and CMO, Parle Agro spoke to us about the whole process of launching a product from researching to shelving, idea behind on-boarding two different brand endorsers for different markets, target audience, larger vision for the company and much more. </li></ul>When it comes to coming up with innovative, industry-first beverages, Parle Agro has been the frontrunner. With its latest launch, B-Fizz, a malt-flavoured carbonated apple drink, the company envisions becoming the number one beverage player in India eventually. Parle Agro currently dominates the fruit plus <keyword id="10153209" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="fizz-drink-category">fizz drink category</keyword> by over 90% market share with its flagship brand <keyword id="6374490" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Appy-Fizz">Appy Fizz</keyword> and now, with its foray into malt-flavoured drinks, it is confident that it will be able to accelerate the category’s growth significantly and bring it to up to Rs 10,000 crore from Rs 1,500 crore in 10 years. In the past, the brand has tried to expand its presence with Mango <keyword id="10153208" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="flavoured-frooti-fizz">Flavoured Frooti Fizz</keyword> and Grappo Fizz, which did not last for too long. So, this time, the brand is playing safe and smart by piggybacking on the popularity of Appy Fizz for the newly-launched B-Fizz, which is a marriage between apple and malt. Another reason why the brand believes in this category is because it has seen a consistently increasing trend of consumers moving away from synthetic beverages towards fruit-based beverages. Parle Agro is therefore going all out to promote its new product launch. It has invested Rs 40 crore in a high-decibel 360 degree campaign, on-boarded Priyanka Chopra Jonas for the Indian market and Jr. NTR for the Southern India. B-Fizz will also be the sponsor for a few select marquee television properties and air its TVC during IPL to get the ball rolling. In just two weeks since its launch, the drink is already present in 500,000+ outlets. With a uniquely positioned product and strong marketing strategy, Parle Agro is confident of making B-Fizz a ₹1000-crore-brand in the next couple of years. We caught up with Nadia Chauhan, Joint Managing Director and CMO, Parle Agro, to understand the research process, pricing strategy and goals for this calendar year. Excerpts: Q. What were some of the factors that pushed you/influenced you to launch B-Fizz? As part of our growth strategy, we invest in R&amp;D to introduce innovative new products to the market; products that will appeal to consumers and take our business further. B-Fizz is one such product that our team developed a few years back. After conducting successful trials we were waiting for the right moment to launch it. As we went through various phases of unlock, we noticed a phenomenal performance in our sparkling fruit-based drink category with our brand, Appy Fizz. We thought it was a great opportunity to expand that category further with the launch of B-Fizz which is a sparkling malt flavoured drink with apple juice. We were able to commercialize B-Fizz in less than 30 days from the time we made the decision to launch it. The timing of the launch worked perfectly for us in several ways. As the country underwent the last few phases of unlock, retailers who were earlier operating under numerous constraints during the lockdown, have now opened up and are operating at almost 100%. Consumers are also getting back to some sense of normalcy. Additionally, the second half of the year is not just the festive period where there is typically an upswing in demand, but it also sees a second summer in the month of October across the country. Since the season also plays a large role in the <keyword id="1453601" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="beverage-industry">beverage industry</keyword> it was a great time for us to launch B-Fizz. Q. What is the marketing strategy for your new product launch? What is the marketing investment going to be? We are investing Rs 40 cores in a high-decibel 360 degree campaign across various media for B-Fizz. We have launched two new TVCs, one featuring global icon, Priyanka Chopra for national media and the other featuring Jr. NTR exclusively for southern markets. The TVC campaign will be supported by innovative print, mobile and digital activations. B-Fizz will also be the sponsor for select marquee television properties. The campaign will also be aggressively promoted across IPL on Hotstar and YouTube. We have also been looking to deploy OOH for higher impact across 96 cities as of now. Q. What would your distribution and pricing strategy be? Will it be available on e-commerce and delivery platforms? B-Fizz is a product that we have launched with a mass distribution strategy in place. We’re today at 500,000 outlets with more than 3000 towns covered. We have launched B-Fizz at a competitive price point of Rs. 10 which is a critical part of our strategy. We believe this price point will enable us to scale up distribution for the brand across both rural and urban markets and make it more accessible to consumers. And yes, we will be available across various platforms, not just traditional retail but also modern trade and e-commerce. We expect B-Fizz to become a ₹1000-crore brand in the next couple of years. Q. The product is priced at Rs. 10 for 160 ml SKU, so how environmental-friendly is the product's packaging? Or will that be a focus later on in brand's journey? It’s an incorrect assumption to say a product available at a lower price point is indicative of a compromise in the quality of packaging. Parle Agro has a reputation built on quality, trust and has always ensured products which are best in class to deliver a superior consumer experience. Our ability to price a product at 10 rupees, an extremely competitive price point, is based on our strategy of creating economies through scale. The 160 ml packaging is a pack that is manufactured on a mass scale for Appy Fizz, the same is being applied for B-Fizz through various technological innovations in designing the preforms. These innovations are created and manufactured in-house as well, which is also how we’re able to achieve this kind of competitive price point. Q. Since the packaging and TVC is quite bold and colourful and positioned as a drink 'for the bold', are you looking at targeting millennials? Who will be the core target for B-Fizz? We are primarily targeting the youth between the age groups of 15-30 years for B-Fizz. Nevertheless, the unique taste of B-Fizz will appeal to all age groups. Q. Since consumers are becoming very conscious of their health and avoiding cola-based drinks and people are still at home and snacking more, have you seen an increase in demand of your products in the last few months? Our entire product portfolio focuses on fruit based beverages and has gained huge traction over the years. We have seen a consistently increasing trend of consumers moving away from synthetic beverages and more towards fruit-based beverages. This is perhaps, one of the big growth drivers for our category as well and a reason for why we have grown as much as we have. Q. What kind of trends did you witness during the lockdown? Did you cut down on your ad spends for this year? What will your larger marketing strategy be for the rest of the year? When it comes to business trends during the lockdown, companies had to adapt, on a daily basis, to the constantly changing rules and regulations being implemented across different parts of the country. Pro-active planning became a critical approach to maintain continuity of supply and distribution to tackle the challenges in mobility that emerged during the pandemic. We also witnessed the growth of the ecommerce platform. Though the e-commerce channel is still very small for the FMCG industry, there has been an acceleration in the adoption of this channel by consumers and brands alike. We have also on-boarded numerous ecommerce players and are continuing to do so. With regard to consumer trends, the lockdown has led consumers to become more conscious about their food and beverage choices. We foresee consumers spending a lot more on products that are natural versus those that are synthetic. For instance, fruit-based drinks like our products with natural ingredients, will be the preferred choice of drink over synthetic ones. Through the lockdown, we halted most of our marketing spends since majority of the retail stores were shut and with restrictions in mobility, people weren’t allowed to go out unless absolutely necessary. But now, as we move towards the last few phases of unlock, our budget allocations are back on track. We are investing Rs 40 crores for the marketing of B-Fizz which is until the end of the calendar year for 2020. Next year, we will be back on track with our regular marketing budgets of about Rs 250 to 300 crores across all our existing brands. Q. Why did you decide to get a separate brand face for the southern market? Is that one of your strongest markets? In southern markets, the influence and affinity for regional cinema and celebrities is very strong. Thus, to drive greater brand resonance with the audiences in the south as well as generate higher brand recall for B-Fizz, we chose a separate ambassador for the southern markets. Jr. NTR is a great brand fit and just like for Frooti we have Allu Arjun, we have Jr. NTR for B-Fizz in the south. Q. Parle Agro currently has a brand turnover of Rs. 6500 Cr. With a new addition, what are revenue goals for FY 2021-22? Parle Agro currently dominates the fruit plus fizz drink category with Appy Fizz with over 90% market share. With the launch of B Fizz, the target is to build the Fruit plus Fizz category to Rs 10,000 Cr. by 2030. We believe we will end the calendar year with 5-10 per cent growth over the previous year with B-Fizz being one of the contributors to that growth. Q. What is your overall vision for Parle Agro? Our vision is to make Parle Agro the No. 1 Beverage Company in India.

Twenty eight ministers have been sworn in at a ceremony at the Raj Bhavan in Bhopal on Thursday morning. Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers. Out of 28 ministers 20 are cabinet and 8 are state ministers. Those who have been sworn in include Gopal Bhargava, Vijay Shah, Jagdish Deora, Bisahu Lal Singh, Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Bhupendra Singh, Edal Singh Kansana, Brijendra Pratap Singh, Vishwas Sarang, Imrati Devi, Prabhuram Chaudhary, Mahendra Singh Sisodia, Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Prem Singh Patel, Om Prakash Saklecha, Usha Thakur, Arvind Bhadoria, Mohan Yadav, Hardeep Singh Dung, Rajyavardhan Singh Dittigaon were sworn in. Those present on the occasion include Chief Minister <keyword id="67701" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shivraj-Singh-Chauhan">Shivraj Singh Chauhan</keyword>, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, former Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, BJP State President Vishnu Dutt Sharma among others. Now the total number of ministers has increased to 33 with 28 members taking oath in the state cabinet. The State ministers who were sworn in include Bharat Singh Kushwaha, Inder Singh Parmar, Ramkhilavan Patel, Ram Kishor Kanvera, Brijendra Singh Yadav, Girraj Dandotia, Suresh Dhakad and O.P.S. Bhadoria. Out of the 28 ministers who were sworn in, 11 are Scindia loyalists who joined the BJP along with Jyotiraditya Scindia in March. The cabinet expansion has been pending since March. The Shivraj government has been functioning with only five ministers since mid-April.
