A screenshot suggests that users can ask Bard practical questions, such as planning a baby shower or creating a lunch menu from a list of ingredients. The introduction of Bard appears to be a reaction to the highly successful <keyword id="6171891" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ai-chatbot" source="Orion">AI chatbot</keyword>, ChatGPT, developed by startup OpenAI and funded by Microsoft. In his blog post, Pichai stated, "We have been developing an experimental conversational AI service, powered by LaMDA, named Bard. It's worth noting that LaMDA is available for public testing through the AI Test Kitchen app, but with a restricted waitlist, only approved users are granted access. With Bard, Google seems to be adopting a more open approach by granting access to a wider user base. Pichai added that Bard could simplify complicated subjects, like the James Webb Space Telescope, for users.
