<ul class="summary-list"><li>YouTuber <keyword id="9660808" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="patrick-starrr">Patrick Starrr</keyword>'s new <keyword id="6354629" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="beauty">beauty</keyword> brand ONE/SIZE currently offers two <keyword id="29496" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Makeup">makeup</keyword> removers.</li><li>I was immediately impressed after trying the brand's <a href="https://shop-links.co/1713730150143199646" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">Go Off makeup-dissolving mist</a> ($24), which helped me remove my stubborn eyeliner with one swipe.</li><li>I also enjoyed using the brand's <a href="https://shop-links.co/1713730206755466456">Go Off makeup-removing wipes</a> ($15), though I personally don't use nonreusable removers in my daily routine.</li><li>Both products are sold on ONE/SIZE and Sephora's websites.</li></ul><p>As much as I love to apply a full face of makeup every day, removing it at night can be tedious.</p><p>Over the years, I've experimented with makeup wipes, beauty cloths, <a href="https://www.insider.com/makeup-remover-test-wipes-micellar-water-review">micellar water</a>, and more in the hopes of finding something that's both effective and gentle on my skin. While I now have <a href="https://www.insider.com/dermatologist-told-me-everything-im-doing-wrong-in-skincare-routine-2020-7">a routine that works for me</a> — <a href="https://goto.target.com/c/196318/81938/2092?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.target.com%2Fp%2Fpond-39-s-cold-cream-make-up-remover-deep-cleanser-6-1oz%2F-%2FA-11223385" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">Pond's Cold Cream</a> followed by micellar water, both of which I remove with a reusable towel — I was intrigued by two new makeup removers released by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDHQbU57NZilrhbuZNbQcRA">YouTuber Patrick Starrr's</a> new beauty brand, <a href="https://www.onesizebeauty.com/">ONE/SIZE</a>.</p><p>Here's what I thought about the beauty wipes and makeup-dissolving mist, which removed some of my longest-lasting makeup with a single swipe.</p><p><strong><em>Editor's note: </em></strong><em>ONE/SIZE provided Insider with the Go Off makeup-dissolving mist</em><em> and makeup-removing wipes for <keyword id="45374" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Review">review</keyword>, which usually retail for a combined $39.</em></p><h2>I tested both products from ONE/SIZE, and was most impressed by the Go Off makeup-dissolving mist</h2><p>After receiving samples of both products from ONE/SIZE in the mail, I was most eager to try the brand's Go Off makeup-dissolving mist. Made with jojoba and rosehip oils, <a href="https://shop-links.co/1713730150143199646">the spray retails for $24</a> and, as Starrr said in <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=987&amp;v=l79Q9DKUSaM&amp;feature=emb_logoemb_logo">a video revealing the brand</a> earlier in July, it "dissolves makeup on contact."</p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/l79Q9DKUSaM" frameborder="0"></iframe><p>For testing purposes, I applied a full-face of makeup in the morning so that I could later remove it with the spray at night. My completed look included concealer, long-wearing foundation, blush, <a href="https://www.insider.com/maybelline-liquid-lipstick-review-and-photos-2020-6">lipstick</a>, eyebrow gel, black eyeliner, and waterproof mascara.</p><p><div type="image" title="one size beauty brand review" height="1454" width="1090" msid="77231002" hostid="261"></div></p><p>On the brand's website, the Go Off spray is described as a "super-fine mist" that "doesn't leave skin feeling tight or dry." After trying the product myself, I can attest to that description.</p><p>First, I sprayed the mist (which has a slightly rosy scent) directly onto my face, and was impressed by how light and airy it felt on my skin. After the product settled, my face quickly felt oily, and I could see some makeup — like my eyeliner — start to dissolve. As I wiped off my foundation, I was left with shiny skin that felt smooth and moisturized, albeit a bit greasy.</p><p>That's when I decided to spray a bit of the product directly onto a reusable makeup cloth so that I could remove my eye makeup. With one swipe, almost all of my eyeliner and a bit of mascara came off.</p><p><div type="image" title="patrick starrr makeup removers" height="900" width="1200" msid="77231004" hostid="261"></div></p><p>The next day, I used the brand's Go Off makeup-removing wipes, <a href="https://shop-links.co/1713730206755466456">which retail for $15</a>.</p><p>While I thought the wipes worked well, I can't say I'd recommend them to the everyday makeup wearer.</p><p>The wipes are larger than most others on the market — almost like two standard wipes sewn together. In my experience, I hardly needed more than half of one wipe to remove all of my makeup, and it felt like a waste to throw the rest away unused. That being said, I stopped using makeup wipes altogether about a year ago, as I personally feel there are more environmentally friendly options out there.</p><p><div type="image" title="one size makeup wipes" height="1794" width="2394" msid="77231006" hostid="261"></div></p><p>In my opinion, those interested in trying products from ONE/SIZE should go with the brand's makeup-dissolving mist.</p><p>I found that the spray removed even my most stubborn makeup, and did so in a quick and effortless way. Some might take issue with how moisturizing the product is — as it can leave skin feeling a bit greasy afterwards — but I found that it ultimately dried down nicely. Not only did this polish dry in 45 seconds, but it also was extremely easy to use. Speedy Gloss in <a href="https://go.skimresources.com?id=35871X943606&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sallybeauty.com%2Fnails%2Fnail-polish%2F45-second-speedy-gloss%2FNAILINC01.html%3F.html%3F" rel="nofollow sponsored">a gray shade called Made in Marylebone</a>. I like that the color is darker and edgier than others offered by the brand, but is still wearable for all seasons and occasions.</p><p>To see if the polish could actually dry in under a minute, I first coated one nail, then set a timer on my phone. Once the clock reached 45 seconds, I lightly tapped the tip of my nail and found that it hadn't completely dried. Of course, doing so caused a slight ripple in the polish, which I had to touch up later.</p><div type="image" title="nail polish not dry" height="1794" width="2392" msid="77768712" hostid="261"></div><p>Still, I let the timer run, and found that the nail polish completely dried around a minute and 15 seconds after applying.</p><p>While it did take longer than promised on the bottle, I was still super impressed by how quickly this nail polish dried. "That can cause a form of acne, and generally traumatize the epidermis."</p><p>Similarly, Christian Surber, a professor of dermatopharmacology at the University of Basel and the University of Zurich, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/05/style/skin-care-rip-clarisonic.html">told The New York Times</a> that he's "never seen scientific data that shows evidence of positive impacts" after using electronic face brushes, and that the tools can actually "abuse the skin."</p><h2>You don't have to remove brushes from your skin-care routine entirely</h2><p>Zeichner told Insider over email that Clarisonic's announcement came as "a huge shock" to him and his colleagues because the brand "has become a staple in many people's skin-care routines." Still, he noted that the key to using such products in a "safe and effective" way is to use them "properly."</p><p>"The sonic cleansing technologies that most of these brushes use make them gentle on the skin, different from the effects of scrubs or loofahs, which can be much more harsh," he said.</p><p>If you regularly use an electronic brush, or are looking to incorporate a similar tool into your routine, Zeichner said you can use the tools with any face wash you prefer. Similarly, he recommends choosing a brush with bristles that will suit your skin type.</p><p>"Many brushes have different heads that make them better to treat different skin conditions: softer ones for dry or sensitive skin, and firmer ones for oily skin," he said. </p><h2>Exfoliating less often than you wash your face is key for healthy skin</h2><p>According to Leffell, people should only be washing their face once or twice a day, "depending on their use of makeup." He also recommends that they use an undyed washcloth made from cotton, or a similar tool that's "not too aggressive," to exfoliate.</p><p>"Definitely do not exfoliate too frequently," he added. "Depending on the nature of a person's skin and skin-care regimens, no more than once or twice a week is probably sufficient. One doesn't have to exfoliate skin as if they were sanding a piece of wood!"</p><p>"It's important to remember that our skin is a remarkable, self-sustaining organ," Leffell added. "The cells are replaced about every four weeks, and gentle washing with occasional exfoliation is all that is needed.
