Even though most people failed, the pass rate is higher this time.
Approximately 43% of the more than 45,000 candidates passed the exam. The average pass rate of 37% as of December 2012. 
The CFA is known to be the hardest exam on Wall Street. It takes several about five to six months to prepare for the grueling six-hour long test. What's more is fewer than <a href="http://www.investopedia.com/professionals/cfa/">20 percent of candidates</a> pass all three levels on the first attempt. 
The results are being sent to test-takers inboxes. A bunch of folks on Twitter are recommending that people check their spam folder if they haven't received them yet.

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence and credentials, reports that 43 percent of the 45,693 candidates that took the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level I exam in December 2013 have passed and taken the first step to joining the next generation of highly educated and ethical investment professionals. In June and December of 2013 a total number of 93,195 candidates sat for Level I of the CFA Program, a globally recognized, graduate level curriculum that links theory and practice with real-world investment analysis, and emphasizes the highest ethical and professional standards.
The results come at a time when investment professionals worldwide report greater optimism over economic prospects for the coming year, but do not express confidence that the integrity of capital markets is improving, according to the <a href="http://www.cfainstitute.org/about/research/surveys/Pages/global_market_sentiment_survey.aspx">CFA Institute 2014 Global Market Sentiment Survey (GMSS).</a> The dedication shown by investment professionals taking the CFA Program demonstrates a strong desire to build a more trustworthy industry and develop a culture where ethical practice is just as important as investment performance.
"The financial community is dealing with a crisis of investor trust, and industry education at all levels is a critical part of rebuilding that trust," said John Rogers, CFA, president and CEO of CFA Institute. "The next generation of investment professionals is instrumental in shaping the future of finance, and each one of these successful candidates has the opportunity to build the kind of industry culture that puts investors first and better serves society."
To earn the CFA designation, candidates must pass all three levels of exam (successful candidates often report dedicating in excess of 300 hours of study per level); meet the work experience requirements of four years in the investment industry; sign a commitment to abide by the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct; apply to a CFA Institute society; and become a member of CFA Institute.
The CFA Program curriculum is firmly grounded in the knowledge and skills required every day in the investment profession and covers ethical and professional standards, securities analysis and valuation, international financial statement analysis, quantitative methods, economics, corporate finance, portfolio management, and performance measurement. Level I exams are offered in both June and December and Levels II and III are offered only in June. The December 2013 Level I exam was administered in 93 test centers in 70 cities across 39 countries worldwide. New Delhi, Mar 17 () The country's rooftop solar energy capacity stands at 1,922 mega watt (MW) and so far over Rs 1,874 crore has been released as central financial assistance towards installation of capacities in the sector, Parliament was informed on Tuesday. Till March 13, 2020, rooftop solar power plants of an aggregate capacity of 1,922 MW have been installed in the country, of which 346 MW have been installed in the residential sector, Minister of New and Renewable Energy R K Singh said in the Rajya Sabha, citing ministry data. He further said "so far as on 12.03.2020, an amount of approximately Rs 1874.39 crore has been released to various implementing agencies, i.e; state nodal agencies, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Limited, power distributing companies (DISCOMs), PSUs (public sector undertakings), government departments etc. under the rooftop solar programme as central financial assistance (CFA)/incentives inclusive of CFA towards residential sector." To increase installation of residential solar rooftop systems, he said government is taking various measures, including incentives for the DISCOMs for achievement of additional capacity, assisting states in development of online portal and aggregation of demand related to rooftop solar projects. The government is also providing CFA of 20 per cent of benchmark cost or tender cost, whichever is lower, for group housing societies/resident welfare associations for supply of power for common facilities under the phase II of Grid Connected Rooftop (GCRT) solar programme, he said, adding there is a toll free number -- 18001803333 -- for creating awareness among public about the programme. (X-ray)</a>Black holes eject high-energy particles and radiation in the form of jets</div></div></div>Researchers in South Africa have discovered something unusual in a distant region of space: a group of black holes that are spewing in-sync. Using the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) in India, the researchers discovered a group of supermassive black holes occupying the centers of ancient galaxies - and they're all spitting out their jets in the same direction.Their findings are detailed in a <a href="http://mnrasl.oxfordjournals.org/content/459/1/L36">study published recently</a> in the journal Monthly Notices Letters of the Royal Society.These jets are powerful streams of radiation and particles that are accelerated to nearly the speed of light and shot out along a black hole's axis of rotation. They're a result of matter escaping the intense gravity of the black hole.The jets' cosmic pattern suggests that all the black holes are spinning in the same direction and that the galaxies they occupy are aligned across distances of billions of light years. The researchers believe that this large-scale alignment is a result of primordial fluctuations created during the infant stages of the universe's formation. "Since these black holes don't know about each other, or have any way of exchanging information or influencing each other directly over such vast scales, this spin alignment must have occurred during the formation of the galaxies in the early universe," astronomer Andrew Russ Taylor, principal author of the new study, <a href="http://phys.org/news/2016-04-astronomers-south-africa-mysterious-alignment.html">said in a press release</a>.The finding, which has never been predicted by cosmological theories, came as a surprise to the researchers. They had been using the GMRT, an array of radio telescopes, to investigate objects in the universe, like star-forming galaxies, that are emitting very faint radiowaves. But the radio images from the GMRT allowed researchers to use jets to reveal galaxy alignments.Scientists believe there are a few different explanations for this phenomenon, ranging from cosmic magnetic fields, fields associated with exotic dark matter particles, or even cosmic strings.
