Largely impacted by the ban, the tile manufacturing units have <a href="https://realty.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/allied-industries/ngts-order-banning-coal-gasifiers-in-morbi-to-adversely-impact-tile-industry-icra/68373711">shut down</a>, switching to natural gas as an alternate. The switch, however, may increase fuel expenses for the manufacturers considering the PNG prices. Hope floats that this would close the price gap between unorganised players in Morbi and branded tile makers like Kajaria Ceramics, Somany Ceramics, Cera Sanitaryware, and Asian Granito and help these companies gain market share. According to media reports, of the 800 ceramic units in total, over 400 wall tile plants running majorly on coal gasifiers have been closed so far owing to shortage of raw material that has been impacting the operation costs for these units. The Morbi ceramic industry had expected a huge growth. In fact, the industry is reportedly planning to establish 50 new wall tiles manufacturing plants. After the ban on March 6, the production has reportedly <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/after-ngt-crackdown-450-ceramic-units-prepare-to-switch-to-gas/articleshow/68365929.cms">dropped</a> by 60%-70%. "Among these units, those most affected will be the wall tile and soluble salt tile manufacturers as they were meeting nearly their entire thermal energy requirements through coal gasifiers," Suprio Banerjee, vice president and head, Mid-Corporate ratings of ICRA reportedly said. India being the third largest ceramic producer in the world has been eyeing the global market. The world's third largest ceramic industry is banking on India's love for gaudy tiles

The market is excited about the NDA government’s plan to develop 100 new smart cities as it could boost demand for several other industries.

While Havells has all these in its portfolio, Orient Pa-per (Orient Electrical) is one of the oldest fan manufacturing companies and its other product categories include lighting, water heaters and kitchen appliances.

While growth rates of certain industry sectors grew by a large number, the latest FICCI report suggests that the ongoing quarter wouldn’t prove to be much beneficial for the manufacturing sector. As per the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) report, India’s manufacturing sector is likely to witness moderate growth in the October-December quarter of FY2014-15. 
 
This report titled, FICCI Manufacturing Survey for Q3 of 2014-15, reveals that industrial production grew by 2.5% in September on account of better manufacturing output, which grew by 2.5% in September against 1.4% in the same month last year. "The outlook on the basis of FICCI Manufacturing Survey for Q3 of 2014-15 is less optimistic than Q2 of 2014-15 for the manufacturing sector as the proportion of respondents expecting higher production vis-a-vis last year has fallen to 52 per cent in Q3 from 62 per cent in Q2", FICCI said. 
 
“Growth is likely to be more broad based during the third quarter as most of the sectors are expecting improvement in production,” it added. 
 
For this survey, FICCI collected responses from 392 manufacturing units (with a combined turnover of over Rs lakhs) across thirteen major sectors, namely: textiles, capital goods, metals, chemicals, cement and ceramics, electronics, auto components, leather and footwear, machine tools, food and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), tyre, paper and textiles machinery.

We will inevitably have less fiscal space to make much-needed investments in, for example, education, skills, preventative healthcare, and infrastructure. This will not just prevent us from moving forward but will set us back. This will majorly impact the gig economy, contract workers, small businesses — and also those employed without a legal contract such as casual labourers — who do not have a fixed take home salary. A recent survey by the job search platform Indeed also said that half of the Indian businesses already trimmed the contractual workforce and freelancers to cut operational costs. The tech giant manufactures some of its most advanced iPhones in the country, including iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and now iPhone 13 at the Foxconn facility while iPhone SE and iPhone 12 are being assembled at the <keyword id="1930805" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="wistron" source="Orion">Wistron</keyword> factory in the country. According to industry experts, the new Apple iPhone 13 series has benefitted from the strong consumer appetite and spend to upgrade to premium smartphones. In the first quarter this year, CyberMedia Research (CMR) estimates point to Apple iPhone shipments potentially growingA more than 20 per cent (on-year), with the iPhone 13 series contributing close to 17 per cent of the total iPhone shipments. "The Apple iPhone shipments will potentially touch the 7 million mark in CY2022, translating into a historic 5.5 per cent market share," Prabhu Ram, Head-Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), CMR, told IANS. iPhone 13 was available to customers in India simultaneously with the US, among other markets which was a first for the country. The device features an advanced 5G experience, brings super-fast performance and power efficiency with A15 Bionic, longer battery life, and a beautiful flat-edge design with incredible durability with the Ceramic Shield front cover, tougher than any smartphone glass. iPhone uses 100 per cent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets, 100 per cent recycled tin in the solder of the main logic board and, for the first time, in the solder of the battery management unit. Apple started its India journey more than 20 years ago. The tech giant launched its India online store in September 2020 and will soon open its own retail store in the country. "With growing domestic Apple iPhone production, aggressive retail forays, and marketing initiatives, we anticipate Apple's growth story in India to remain resilient despite potential headwinds," Ram told IANS. Tech giant Apple confirms manufacturing iPhone 13 in India

To cater to the demand of rising upper middle class, the <keyword id="128637" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gateway-Hotels">Gateway Hotels</keyword> of Indian Hotels Company Limited or popularly known as <keyword id="110716" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Taj-Group">Taj Group</keyword> Company has forayed into the resort segment of the hospitality sector. The company has launched its first resort property near Damdama lake in Haryana. 
 
“India’s tourism potential is unmatched in terms of its uniqueness, culture and heritage. The industry has become one of the key growth drivers for the economy generating employment. The rapid increase in domestic as well as foreign tourists has created a need for developing newer destinations and innovative service offerings; a concept that the Taj has pioneered in India.” said Rakesh Sarna, CEO and managing director of Taj Group. 
 For this project, Gateway has partnered with <keyword id="2606854" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dhoot-Group">Dhoot Group</keyword> to create the resort and positioned it to cater both families as well as corporate customers. “An investment of Rs 100 crore has been made in the property,” said Prabhat Verma, COO of The Gateway Hotels &amp; Resorts. 
 
Keeping in mind the environment, the hospitality giant has gone eco-friendly while erecting the structure and the artwork primarily includes scrap metal sculptures, embroidered and hand printed textiles, and studio ceramics. “We have tried to give it a rural essence and that is why we have totally gone local as far as artwork is concerned. We want our customers to enjoy the natural beauty and therefore on the design front, we have totally been natural. The resort is first of its kind because it has been right next to a mega city,” he stated. 
 
At present, the Gateway property has 25 operational properties across India including the recently launched Gateway resort near Damdama lake. 
 
Verma told BI India that the property has been operational since May 19, 2014 and has had over 50 corporate events. “We have received a tremendous response from the visitors here. We will be launching three to four new properties in the next fiscal year. Two of them include one in Corbett and the other in Theog near Shimla,” he averred. 
 
Interestingly, until now, Gateway Hotels have been positioned as an upscale corporate hotel for business travelers. However, with the launch of the new resort, the hotel has forayed into the leisure hotel segment.
