New Delhi [India], September 13 (ANI): The Central Board of Secondary Education (<keyword id="6356155" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbse" source="Orion">CBSE</keyword>) on Wednesday issued an advisory for students and parents regarding the <keyword id="3416876" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="practice-papers" source="Orion">practice papers</keyword> it has released for all major subjects of Classes 10 and 12. The board in its notice has warned students and schools that these sample papers should be accessed from the official website - cbseacademic.nic.in - and need not be purchased from any private publisher. "As per NEP 2020 recommendations, the Board had initiated competency-focused education and assessment in its affiliated schools and has recently released practice papers in all major subjects of Classes X and XII," read the notice by CBSE. "These practice papers have been developed to facilitate the students in solving more application-based questions of higher-order thinking skills and enhance conceptual understanding of topics," it said "It has come to the notice of the board that schools and students are being asked to access the CBSE practice papers from certain private publishers sites. The public is advised not to be misled by any claims and promotions" the advisory read. The registration procedure for the board exams 2024 for private students began on September 12 on its official website - cbse.gov.in. Students can proceed with the registration after the release of the form. The deadline to submit the registration form is October 11 and students can submit the form till October 19 with a late of Rs 300 per subject. (ANI)

CBSE warns against private websites selling practice papers for classes 10 and 12

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (<keyword id="20255499" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ncert" source="keywords">NCERT</keyword>) will release a new syllabus and textbooks for Classes 3 to 6 while there will be no change in the <keyword id="19917193" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="curriculum" source="keywords">curriculum</keyword> and textbooks for other grades for the academic year 2024-25 commencing from April 1, according to <keyword id="19976140" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbse" source="keywords">CBSE</keyword> officials. The NCERT has informed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that new syllabi and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 are currently under development and will soon be released, the CBSE said in a communication sent to affiliated schools. "Consequently, schools are advised to follow these new syllabi and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 in place of textbooks published by NCERT till the year 2023," said <keyword id="20215578" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="joseph-emmanuel" source="keywords">Joseph Emmanuel</keyword>, Director (Academics), CBSE. "Additionally, a bridge course for class 6, and concise guidelines for class 3 are being developed by the NCERT for facilitating a seamless transition for students to new pedagogical practices and areas of study aligned with new curriculum framework, 2023. These resources will be disseminated to all the schools online once they are received from NCERT. "The Board will also organize capacity-building programs for school heads and Teachers to orient them with the new teaching learning perspectives as envisioned in NEP-2020," he added in the letter. In a revision of the National Curriculum Framework (<keyword id="21063963" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ncf" source="keywords">NCF</keyword>) after 18 years, the Ministry of Education had last year notified the changes. The NCF had undergone four revisions in the past - in 1975, 1988, 2000, and 2005. The council is in process of preparing new school textbooks in line with the new national curriculum framework for school education (NCF-SE) 2023 as a part of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. "There will be no change in the Curriculum and textbooks for other classes for the academic year 2024-25 commencing from April 1, 2024," he said. The NCF for the foundational stage (FS) was launched by the Ministry of Education in 2022 and according to the curriculum framework, the NCERT developed and collected the learning-teaching material (LTM). Toys, puzzles, puppetry, posters, flash cards, worksheets and attractive storybooks are part of the "<keyword id="21063964" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="jaadui-pitara" source="keywords">Jaadui Pitara</keyword>" launched by the Ministry of Education for learning at the foundational stage. In 2022, the NCERT had rationalised the syllabi of classes 6 to 12 to "reduce the content load" on students in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the changes, reflected in new textbooks published last year, the council had removed chapters on Mughal courts, 2002 Gujarat riots, cold war, references of Mughal emperors, and Emergency and periodic table. While the council maintained there was no selective omission of topics, the rationalisation exercise had created a political controversy with leaders from opposition parties alleging the ruling dispensation was "erasing history". New curriculum, books for grades 3-6 from 2024-25, no change in syllabus for other classes: CBSE

The <keyword id="69419" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="central-board-of-secondary-education" source="Orion">Central Board of Secondary Education</keyword> on Friday declared its <keyword id="6361875" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Class-12" source="Orion">class 12</keyword> results in which 92.71 per cent students have cleared the exam. Girls have outperformed boys by 3.29 per cent, the <keyword id="6356155" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="cbse" source="Orion">CBSE</keyword> said. Over 33 thousand students have scored marks above 95 per cent while 1.34 lakh students have scored above 90 per cent, the board said. In a first, the <keyword id="32862" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Board-exams" source="Orion">board exams</keyword> were conducted in two terms for the academic session 2021-22. For theory papers, 30 pc weightage has been given to first term marks, while 70 pc weightage has been given to second term marks. The Supreme Court on Thursday said the ongoing exam process cannot be suddenly made online, which may result in rescheduling the examination, as it junked a plea by a group of students seeking directions to conduct term exams for Classes 10 and 12 for the <keyword id="6356155" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="cbse" source="Orion">CBSE</keyword> and ICSE boards via hybrid mode, rather than physical. A bench comprising Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and C.T. Ravikumar told the petitioners' counsel: "Don't mess up with the education system. Let the authorities continue their work..." The bench noted that if the court were to interfere at this stage, it may lead to practical difficulties as the exams have already commenced. The bench told senior advocate <keyword id="4752448" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sanjay-hedge" source="Orion">Sanjay Hedge</keyword>, representing the petitioners: "Exams are going on. Let us be practical. Now how can it be online...It's too late now and exams cannot be rescheduled." Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Centre, assured the top court that Covid concerns have been taken care of and all necessary precautions have been put in place, to conduct the exams. Mehta said: "Earlier 40 students sat in a class, but now only 12 students will be sitting in a class so that there is social distancing. Number of exam centers has been increased to 15,000..." Noting that the petitioners have moved the top court late, the bench said the last-minute business should not be encouraged and declined to entertain the petition. The petitioners argued that the CBSE and ICSE boards, conducting exams via physical mode, are acting in contravention of Covid guidelines. The exams for Classes 10 and 12 students for the academic year 2021-22 are scheduled to be held from November 16 and November 22. The Central Board of Secondary Education (<keyword id="6356155" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="cbse">CBSE</keyword>) has released dates for practical examinations for Std. X and XII. According to the schedule, practical assessments will be held between January 1 and February 7, 2020. The practical examinations will take place in the presence of CBSE’s external examiner. This year onwards, the board has directed schools to send a group photograph of the external examiner, students and the internal teacher during the exams. The schools will have to upload the photographs on the website along with batch number and date among other details. “An app link will be provided to schools for uploading one group photograph of each batch during the practical examinations. The class group photo should consist of all the candidates of that batch, external examiner, internal examiner and observer. The photograph should be taken in the laboratory where practical exams are being held and laboratory should also be seen clearly in the photograph,” Sanyam Bharadwaj, CBSE controller of examinations<a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/chandigarh/cbse-tells-schools-to-send-group-photograph-of-practical-exams/articleshow/71947563.cms"> told </a>TOI. Which is why they’re now going to launch the program for Class 10 and Class 12 classes pan-India across 20,299 schools. Encrypted conversations Using a software solution that’s built on Windows 10 and Office 365, the Controller of Examination can monitor the whole pipeline. It starts with the CBSE administration initiating the process at his end. Once that’s done there’s an outflow of emails to each of the exam centers with a link to OneDrive, Microsoft’s file-hosting service, enclosed within. The exam administrator can then download the exam paper that is specific to his exam centre. All the papers are watermarked so that they can be tracked in case of a leak and even the exam administrator has to clear a two-factor authentication to access the papers. None of this can even be activated until it’s 30 minutes to the exam start time. This measure alone reduces the risk of a leak by limiting the preemptive time frame. Paper leaks and examination controversy is no stranger to India. It’s actually one of the many reasons that the government conducts a lot of its entrance exams online in partnership with TCS iON, a unit of Tata Consultancy. Since their examinations are completely online, the scope for human error is greatly reduced. Time alone will tell whether or not Microsoft’s solution will hold up to the promise of saving time and money while increasing security.

The Odisha government, here on Wednesday, cancelled examinations for all Class XII pending subjects, conducted by <keyword id="9497564" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-council-of-higher-secondary-education">the Council of Higher Secondary Education</keyword> (CHSE), due to the spread of Covid-19 in the state. School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said examinations for all the pending papers of all streams - arts, commerce, science and vocational education - had been cancelled. These examinations were scheduled between March 23 and March 28. As per the proposed assessment method, students who have appeared in more than three papers, their marks in the best three subjects will be considered for the pending paper. For students who have appeared in three papers, their highest marks in two subjects will be considered for the remaining papers. "If the students are not happy with their marks, they can appear for improvement in the examination after the Covid-19 crisis is over," said the Minister. The department would try to publish the results by July 31, he added.
