I just didn't understand them." </p><p>However, Craig continued to say that as he grew into the role the weight of the industry around the 007 franchise started to "bore" him down and affect his performances. </p><p>"The trouble with ['Quantum of Solace'], it was a bit of a shit-show, to say the least, the full weight of it was there I kind of think that made me probably lock up," he said. "Thankfully, for me, it's been about loosening it and loosening it and trying to get back to that feeling of 'Casino,' which was 'It's James Bond, come on, enjoy yourself. Let's have a good time.'"</p><div type="image" title="Quantum of Solace" height="1200" width="1600" msid="86754179" hostid="261"></div><p>"Quantum of Solace" took home over $500 million at the worldwide box office but was widely panned by critics and has often been considered the worst film in Craig's series of 007 films. In a review <a href="http://archive.boston.com/ae/movies/articles/2008/11/14/action_reaction/?page=full">for The Boston Globe</a>, double Pulitzer Prize winner Wesley Morris said: "Frankly, Quantum of Solace is just one exasperated dressing down away from being Lethal Weapon 9."</p><p>Later during the interview, Craig spoke about the confidence he felt during the production of "Casino Royale."</p><p>"I remember [shooting 'Casino Royale'] with massive fondness," he said. "And all this other shit was going on around it, which was meaningless at the time because I knew we had a good film, I knew 'Casino' was good. You kind of go, 'Wait and see, it's going to be great, don't worry.'"</p><p>Both Craig and Barbara Broccoli, one of the lead James Bond film producers, recently reflected on "Quantum of Solace" during the behind-the-scenes Apple TV documentary "Being James Bond" and attributed some of the production mistakes to the 2008 Writers Guild of America strike. </p><p>The 100-day strike in which all film and television screenwriters of the WGA downed their tools was prompted by a halt in negations between the major Hollywood studios and the writer's guild who demanded a greater share of the revenues generated when films and TV shows are distributed on the Internet and on other new media devices. </p><p>"We had a writer's strike. We had a script; it wasn't completed, but it was nearly completed. The movie kind of works. It's not 'Casino Royale,' and that was always going to be… It was like, literally, troubling second album syndrome," Craig said. "In a way, we could not top 'Casino'… It's easy to say that. Of course, we wanted to top 'Casino Royale,' but, you know…"</p><p>Broccoli added: "We basically started shooting without a script, which is never a good idea. But the script was turned in, and I remember the writer who turned the script in picked up his check, and then picked up his placard and stood outside the studio striking. We were kind of screwed, and we all had to muddle in and try and make the story work, and it wasn't really working that great. But I look back at the movie, and you know, it's still a good movie."</p><p>Over the weekend, Variety reported that Craig's final Bond film "No Time To Die," which has opened outside the US, is set to rake in <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/international-box-office-no-time-181806820.html">$113 Million in its opening weekend</a>. <ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="18635" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Amazon">Amazon</keyword> announced on Wednesday it would buy the MGM film studio, which co-owns the <keyword id="17991" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="James-Bond">James Bond</keyword> rights.</li><li>The <keyword id="406" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="Movies">movies</keyword> have jumped around multiple services and are currently <keyword id="572624" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Streaming">streaming</keyword> on a few platforms.</li><li>It could suggest that MGM was anticipating an acquisition by striking short-term streaming deals.</li></ul><p>The James Bond movie franchise has a new home.</p><p>Amazon announced on Wednesday <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-mgm-studios-acquisition-deal-streaming-james-bond-prime-video-2021-5">it would buy the MGM film studio</a>, which co-owns the copyright to the Bond movies, and finances and distributes them domestically. </p><p>But if audiences think they'll be able to watch the Bond movies on <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Video/b?ie=UTF8&amp;node=2858778011&amp;_encoding=UTF8&amp;tag=newsroom_affiliate_052621_where-to-stream-bond-movies-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;linkId=bf3aafe41451e84bfbc15815c9333b95&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325" rel="nofollow sponsored">Prime Video</a>, they may have to wait a bit.</p><p>The most recent movies starring Daniel Craig are currently scattered across multiple streaming services, like subscription platforms Netflix and Hulu. Most of the pre-Craig films are available on the free, ad-supported services Tubi and Pluto TV (though the movies will be interrupted by ads). Kafka noted the studio "isn't weighed down by long-term deals to other distributors." If streaming services had locked up rights to some Bond films long-term, you'd certainly expect a big announcement around it. Because none have made such an announcement, it suggests the streaming windows for the Bond movies could be relatively short at these other services, or non-exclusive.</p><p>MGM did not immediately return a request for comment.</p><p>But beyond the streaming rights to the movies, the future of the Bond franchise <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-wont-have-total-control-of-bond-after-buying-mgm-2021-5">could be complicated for Amazon</a>.</p><p>The other half of the Bond ownership is Danjaq LLC, the parent company of Eon Productions. The companies are owned by producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson - who have final say on the direction of the franchise. In other words, a Prime Video Bond TV series won't be happening unless Broccoli and Wilson want it to.</p><p>Eon has produced 24 Bond movies, with the 25th, "No Time to Die," hitting theaters in October after a long delay due to the pandemic (Eon did not produce two Bond movies due to rights issues, 1967's parody film "Casino Royale" and 1983's "Never Say Never Again." <ul class="summary-list"><li>Jury selection begins Monday in a New York lawsuit involving the filmmaker Paul Haggis.</li><li>Haleigh Breest, a publicist, has accused Haggis of raping her at his Manhattan apartment in 2013. </li></ul><p>The Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis is set to face trial Monday over an allegation he raped a film publicist at his Manhattan apartment in 2013. </p><p>Haleigh Breest sued the "Crash" writer and director at the height of the Me Too movement in 2017, alleging in court documents that Haggis invited her back to his apartment after an event in January 2013 and sexually assaulted her. Breest is accusing him of assault, battery, rape, a criminal sexual act, aggravated sexual abuse and violating New York City law on gender-motivated violence. She's asking for unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.</p><p>Haggis has acknowledged that he had sex with Breest but says the act was consensual, despite her claims that she repeatedly told him "No."   </p><p>In the wake of Breest's lawsuit, four other women have come forward with similar stories of being preyed on by Haggis, and they're are expected to testify at the trial. Jane Doe No. 1 said she was raped by Haggis in 1996 during a late-night meeting at her office where she worked as a publicist. The three other Jane Does described escaping Haggis after he forcibly kissed them. Two of them said they were cornered by Haggis at film festivals, and a third accuser said the incident occurred at Haggis' office.</p><p>Over the summer, Haggis was <a href="https://www.insider.com/paul-harris-under-house-arrest-in-italy-sexual-assault-claims-2022-6">held under house arrest in Italy</a> after another woman accused him of raping her over a two-day period. But prosecutors appeared to struggle to build a strong enough case. Charges were never filed, and a judge eventually released Haggis from house arrest.</p><p>Judge Sabrina Kraus, who is presiding over the New York case, ruled that Haggis' Italian arrest could not be mentioned at trial since the allegations have not been substantiated and were insufficient to keep him under arrest.</p><p>Haggis' legal team won the right to argue at trial that the sexual-misconduct allegations are part of a <a href="https://www.insider.com/judge-allows-paul-haggis-to-argue-scientologists-behind-rape-claim-2022-9">Church of Scientology</a> plot to discredit him. The church previously told Insider that the claim was <a href="https://www.insider.com/judge-allows-paul-haggis-to-argue-scientologists-behind-rape-claim-2022-9">"absurd and patently false."</a></p><div type="image" title="Haleigh Breest" height="1140" width="1519" msid="94922091" hostid="261"></div><p>Haggis split from the church in 2009 and went on to become one of its fiercest critics. </p><p>Zoe Salzman, one of Breest's attorneys, told Insider on Wednesday that she's dubious Haggis' legal team will be able to convince the jury that the lawsuit is a conspiracy manufactured by Scientologists. </p><p>Salzman said that if Haggis had the evidence to prove the Scientology theory "we would have seen it by now," since they've been litigating the case for the past five years. </p><p>"He's certainly been very aggressive in press outreach, and if he had something to show you all on that front, I'm sure he would have been widely disseminating that, and obviously that has not happened. In the many years of discovery and motions — it's been a very active litigation — we've never seen any evidence of it," Salzman said. </p><p>She added: "Haleigh has been waiting many years to hold Mr. Haggis accountable in a court of law and she and her legal team look forward to doing so."</p><p>Lawyers for Haggis did not return Insider's request for an interview. </p><p>Haggis' 2004 film "Crash," which he wrote, directed, and produced, won the Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay awards at the Oscars that year. Haggis was nominated for screenwriting Oscars for the films "Million Dollar Baby" and "Letters From Iwo Jima." Oscar-winning director Paul Haggis to face trial in New York over publicist's rape allegation

"That was admittedly a major longshot, though 'Let There Be Carnage's' supersized opening had spurred hopes of a nine-digit opening."</p><p>Instead, "No Time to Die" suggests some turbulence for would-be blockbusters <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hollywood-faces-a-major-test-in-october-2021-9">in a crowded marketplace that is still recovering from the pandemic</a>. Paramount seemingly expected this this when <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/paramount-moved-top-gun-theaters-urge-studios-stick-to-plans-2021-9">it moved "Top Gun: Maverick" from this November to May 2022</a>.</p><p>Still to come in October is "Halloween Kills" in theaters and on Peacock this weekend, along with Ridley Scott's "The Last Duel"; and "Dune" in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22. Marvel's "Eternals" opens on November 5 and will have little competition until "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" on November 19. Then November 24 sees the release of Disney's "Encanto" and "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City.".</p><p>But even if movies hit some bumps at the box office, releasing them exclusively to theaters, rather than delaying them again, is what theater owners want studios to do.</p><p>"It's a process of growing back into the same kind of numbers from 2019," John Fithian, CEO of the National Association of Theatre Owners, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/theater-association-chief-movie-delays-could-kill-industry-2021-8">told Insider in an interview</a> in August. "In order to get the industry growing again, and to keep theaters open, you have to make progress step by step."</p><p>It's not all bad news for "No Time to Die." It drove moviegoers aged 35 and up (57% of its audience), who "have been slow to return to the movies" during the pandemic, said <keyword id="11895191" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="hollywood" source="Orion">Hollywood</keyword> consultant David A. Gross. </p><p>"If anything kept the film from over-performing this weekend, it is the younger groups, who are less committed to the series," Gross said.</p><p>It's also performing well internationally and has already grossed $313 million globally, including its North American total. China, the largest theatrical market in the world, is still to come later this month. The Bond series isn't a staple in the country, but "Spectre" earned $83 million there, a franchise best.</p><p>Still, reaching the heights of "Skyfall" and "Spectre" - which  grossed $1.1 billion and $880 million globally, respectively - seems out of the question. And the movie will likely finish its theatrical run with a disappointing figure when factoring in its hefty costs. <a href="https://puck.news/james-bonds-long-battle-to-break-even/">Puck News' Matthew Belloni</a> estimated that combined production and advertising costs were close to $500 million in a report on Thursday.</p>

'No Time To Die' is the first sign of turbulence at the box office for the latest wave of blockbuster hopefuls

Everything coming to - and leaving - Netflix in August

The next James Bond has a release date - but no official announcement about Daniel Craig's return

The actor is set to reprise his role as the world's most famous British Secret Service agent for a fifth time on the big screen, following "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace," "Skyfall" and "Spectre." Two sources close to production have confirmed the news with<span> </span><a href="https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/07/24/movies/daniel-craig-is-coming-back-as-james-bond-in-2019.html?referer=https://t.co/fA7bQMdnc5" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The New York Times</a>, citing Craig's return to the franchise as a "done deal."</p><p>Craig's return to 007 was a giant question mark following the release of "Spectre" in November 2015. He went on record saying he would never want to take on the part again ("I'd rather break this glass and slash my wrists," he told a British magazine), though he also called playing Bond the "best job in the world" in a later interview. Rumors were percolating that Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston or Damian Lewis could be donning the tuxedo, though MGM and Eon Productions always wanted Craig. </p><p>Director Sam Mendes, who was behind the camera for "Skyfall" and "Spectre," definitely won't be returning for another installment. The production companies will announce additional cast members and a director at a later date.</p><p>By taking on his fifth turn as 007, Craig will resume the title of second longest-running Bond in movie history. Only Sir Roger Moore has played Bond more in a total of seven films. Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery. Unfortunately, he is given way too little to do here. When a film has a great villain, they typically won't be introduced until later on as a way to build suspense. Evil is scarier when it lurks in the shadows for a while. However, when you have a two time Academy Award winner who could read a section of the phone book like it is&#xa0;Shakespeare, it is best that you give him as much to do as humanly possible.</p><p>Storywise, "Spectre" is a bit of a mess. It feels like Craig and director Sam Mendes made exactly the Bond film they wanted with "Skyfall," but then they had to come back for one more. While it is nice to see that Hollywood is realizing that every franchise doesn't have to try and become a darker version of itself to survive, it seems odd that this iteration of Bond ends on such a light note. Its 150 minute run time surprisingly rarely drags, but it still feels like the story could have been focused and tightened a lot.</p><p>So&#xa0;many Bond films have been made that they can't all be great. "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall" might have spoiled fans (we don't speak of "Quantum of Solace" around here). I have seen some bad Bond movies before. "Spectre"&#xa0;will not end up being as memorable as "Goldfinger" or even "GoldenEye."</p><p>I walked into "Spectre" hoping for something as sublime as its predecessor. I ended up finding an&#xa0;entertaining 007 entry. <p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/555349d1dd089584118b4575-1200-924/joe-fournier-and-paris-hilton.jpg" border="0" alt="Joe Fournier and Paris Hilton"><p class="source"><span>Courtesy of Joe Fournier</span></p><p class="caption">Joe Fournier (middle) counts heiress Paris Hilton as one of his close friends.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>Joe Fournier, 32, is a Monaco-born British multi-millionaire who swapped his lucrative business as a personal trainer for the likes of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow to <a href="https://instagram.com/joefournierclub/">make his fortune through a string a high-end nightclubs in London, New York and France</a>.</p><p>Fournier even retained personal training work on blockbuster movies such as <a href="http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2010/jan/03/30-ways-to-improve-your-life"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, </span></a><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><a href="http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2010/jan/03/30-ways-to-improve-your-life">and Charlie's Angels</a>. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">While the self-dubbed nightclub entrepreneur may seem like he has it all, including counting famous heiress Paris Hilton and actor Jamie Foxx as his close friends, his life has had more twists and turns than the average person.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Sitting down with Business Insider in his South Kensington bistro and bar Streaky Gin, Fournier told us how he was born into "a life of luxury" in London but after his parents' "messy" divorce, he found himself as a child swapping chaffeur driven cars around the French riviera to taking the local bus in Hounslow, London.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">He started off his incredible career trajectory as a professional basketball player, playing in </span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">England, France, Italy, and the Middle East, captaining the British national </span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">team 38 times. But a severe injury ended his career as a professional sportsman and he turned into a borderline alcoholic.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">He told Business Insider about his rise to the top, how he made his fortune through owning famous nightclubs including <a href="http://www.bonbonniereclub.com/about.php">Bonbonniere Club</a> and <a href="http://www.streakygin.com">Streaky Gin</a>, and how he splits his time living in London and Miami.<br /></span></p><p><strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Business Insider: Tell us a bit about your childhood. Did you "have it made" from an early age?</span></strong></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>Joe Fournier: </strong>My dad was wealthy and I would say my mum was normal. They met by the French Riviera. My dad is from Monaco and was a pilot, while my mum stayed at home. I went to [top French primary school in London] Lycée Français Charles De Gaulle de Londres and then an American Community School.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">However, my</span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> mum and dad got divorced, and it got messy, and we moved to Hounslow. I went from having a chaffeur driven car to school every day, to taking the bus.</span></p><p><strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">BI: So how did you get into basketball and become a professional player?</span></strong></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/555349d1dd089584118b4576-478-720/269708_10150693928000517_7263584_n.jpg" border="0" alt="Joe Fournier playing basketball"><p class="source"><span>Courtesy of Joe Fournier</span></p><p class="caption">Fournier captained the British national team 38 times.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>JF:</strong> I didn't live in a great neighbourhood, but there was a big following of basketball, and I ended up just taking it up here and there. When I went to Brunel University, I ended up paying just £2 ($3.13) a session to practice and be in the university team. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">It taught me discipline and how practice makes perfect. I'd shoot a hoop a thousand times a day until it was natural. I think it gave me better work ethic in the long run. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">I ended up doing a try-out in east London one day and actually made the first half of the England basketball team. I was on the bench for a while but I got my chance to play when someone, unfortunately for them, got injured.</span></p><p><strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">BI: An injury also ended your career as a professional basketball player. How did you react to such a sudden life change, and did you have a back-up plan?</span></strong></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>JF:</strong> I always wanted to be a professional sportsperson and I loved it. I've always been a light and happy person, but when I injured my leg, I ended up in one of the darkest places in my life. I used to go to my local pub in Isleworth, Hounslow to drink, drink, drink, and then drink some more. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">One day, after six months, one of the bar owners told me that this wasn't what my life was meant to turn out like, and I asked him if he thought I was an alcoholic. He pointed to a guy with a bright red face, who was 60 but looked like 105-years-old, and said "no, he's an alcoholic," but it was enough to make a point that I didn't want to become "that guy."</span></p><p><strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">BI: So how did you move on from that low point and become a gym owner? How did you build that client base?</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">JF: </span></strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">I just snapped out of my depression and I took what little money I had left and put it into a little gym I set up. I bought the equipment second-hand off eBay and managed to secure a lease on a small space in Richmond with no references.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">I started my own gym, but it was hard. I managed to get a database of clients off a local spa and I cold-called around 1,500 people pretending to be a sales person for myself saying "this is Steve from Joe Fournier's gym" to get clients. It took around the 1,000 mark until someone said yes. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">I was a trainer, PR, and cleaner, all-in-one.</span></p><p><strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">BI: From that one person, you ended up <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1-Y97H0464">working with some pretty famous people</a>, like Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, and were featured in Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, GQ, Esquire ... How did that happen? </span></strong><strong style="line-height: 1.5em;"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><br /></span></strong></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>JF:</strong> Well, I had to sign a lot of non-disclosure agreements so I can't confirm or deny those clients, but I have worked for models, actors, actresses, royalty, and musicians.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">It was actually through advice from a friend who told me that I should hire a PR or an agency to get my name and my gym out there. Actually, after some convincing, I did, and my business built a lot of traction and by word of mouth I got my first celebrity client. It all kicked off from there.</span></span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Eventually I wrote</span></span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"> the <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Carpet-Workout-Jordan-Paramor/dp/0755318684">"Red Carpet Workout" book in 2008, </a>and I expanded my training studios internationally. Then, a private equity company offered to buy my fitness business and I sold my studios around three years ago. [Fournier declined to comment on how much he made from the sale and the details.]</span></p><p><strong>BI: Why did you decide to get into nightclubs when you could have retired early? </strong></p><p><strong>JF:</strong> I was at a loose end and my buddy needed some help in launching some nightclubs. But then I realised that it was a wise investment. It's really difficult to get people to do lunges and eat salad, but it was easy getting people get pissed, drink gin and tonic, party, and eat pizza.</p><p><strong>BI: You've had some incredible success with opening Whisky Mist, and then owning Bonbonniere nightclubs and Streaky Gin, how much has it made you in terms of cash?</strong></p><p><strong><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/555349d1dd089584118b4577-1200-924/joe-fournier.jpg" border="0" alt="Joe Fournier"><p class="source"><span>Courtesy of Joe Fournier</span></p><p class="caption">Joe Fournier and rap artist Snoop Dogg.</p></img></div><p></p></div></div>JF:</strong> I'm opening <span style="line-height: 1.5em;">The VIP Room London, Restaurant Hotel Chantelle, Streaky Gin Regent Street, Mahiki Beach Miami soon, and a summer pop up called Bonbonniere Mykonos. I feel like these clubs are my babies and I feel incredibly proud to be opening up so many new ones. It's my passion.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Being a successful business person isn't to do with net worth. It's about doing what you love and what you give back. My businesses make around £20 million to £30 million ($31.3 million - $47 million) a year, so you can call me a multi-millionaire, but it's not about the money.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">You </span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">can be sad and have loads of money still.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>BI: How has your life changed since opening these clubs? You seem to be surrounded by celebrities all the time, <a href="https://instagram.com/joefournierclub/">especially on your Instagram.</a> Do you hire them to open clubs to get publicity, or do you count them as friends?</strong></span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>JF: </strong>To be honest, I don't need to pay for someone famous to attend a club or make an appearance, a lot of the celebrities that do turn up are my friends, or someone I have hung out with before. I am humbled by that and the personal relationships that have got me to where I am.<br /></span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">I would count Paris Hilton as a close friend for example. Also, when Jamie Foxx came to one of my clubs, it was after we went out for dinner and he decided it would be fun to go to the DJ booth and sing impromptu for 10 or 15 minutes. We just stayed at the club and got drunk.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">I've had Victoria's Secret having a party at one of the clubs, same with Will.i.Am, Tinie Tempah's single launch party, and others too. We didn't publicise, it was just where they wanted to hang out.</span></p><p><strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">BI: With your success, do you think you've become a bit of a target? What happened in Australia? [Fournier was arrested on a charge of assaulting a <a href="http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/trainer-to-the-stars-pays-the-price-for-tussle-over-taxi-fare-20100327-r42x.html">cab driver in Sydney in 2009</a>].</span></strong></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><strong>JF:</strong> It's really difficult to talk about it as it did affect me. I was coming back from dinner with my fiancé at the time [Reanna Spaulding] and we took a regular taxi. He literally attacked me and because I do a lot of boxing, I managed to fight him off. He was really shady: it was a $6-$8 cab ride and he asked for a lot more. Because I didn't want any trouble, I went to the cash point to get it for him and he tried to attack me.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">What the press didn't report was that he was twice the size of me, my fiancé was with me, and after the police released me, I stayed in Australia for over two months, made some amazing friends, did some business deals and had a great time.</span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Did it affect me? Yes, I probably will only take a private driver, instead of a cab from now on. But I am glass half full kind of guy and I am generally positive, so I have just moved on. [The court in 2010 did not record a conviction for Fournier, according to the <a href="http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/trainer-to-the-stars-pays-the-price-for-tussle-over-taxi-fare-20100327-r42x.html">Sydney Morning Herald]</a>.</span></p><p><strong>BI: How do you do move on from such severe ups and downs in your life and career? What would you say is the recipe for your success?</strong></p><p><strong>JF:  </strong>I think <span style="line-height: 1.5em;">95% of everything I have ever done comes from discipline of playing sport and being part of a team. It gives you the will to win and that competitive edge. </span></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Believe in yourself and never give up. I know lots of people say that but it's the mentality for success. </span></p><p><strong><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">BI: So, lastly, what's the future for you, other than owning lots of nightclubs? Will you live the quiet life once you have children?</span></strong></p><p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;"><span><strong>JF:</strong> I'm single at the moment and I would love to have kids. I'd love to have three or four, but it just hasn't happened yet. My former fiancé had a child and my life was no less hectic than it is now.
