CarTrade IPO: Here’s how to check allotment status, listing date and more

Post listing, the market capitalisation of the company stood at ₹7,333.45 crore, according to BSE data. The shares of CarTrade Tech were trading at ₹1556, 3% higher at 10.01 a.m., on August 20. The market sentiment also looked dull as benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading lower. The grey market price of the stock had suggested around 8-10% premium over the upper price band of ₹1618. The IPO received good demand from investors on the last day of the initial public offering (IPO) bidding process as the issue size was subscribed 20.29 times on the last day. It received bids for 26.31 crore shares as against 1.29 crore shares on offer. The issue was open for subscription between August 9 and August 11. The company is a 12-year old startup that operates online platforms like CarWale, CarTrade, BikeWale, CarTradeExchange and AutoBiz for users interested in buying and selling new and used vehicles. “CarTrade is an electronic exchange focusing on the auto sector and thus there is no peer company having similar business operations. Now IPOs need to ensure they do not crowd the market at one time because that will lead to liquidity crunch. Investors will become more choosy after the scenario,” he added. The company has decided to allocate 55,59,664 equity shares to anchor investors at Rs 1,618 apiece, valuing the transaction size to Rs 899.55 crore, according to a circular uploaded on the BSE website. Nomura, HSBC Global, Goldman Sachs, Jupiter India Fund, Elara India Opportunities Fund, Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance Company, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company, Bharti Axa Life Insurance Company, Axis Mutual Fund (MF), HDFC MF, Kotak MF and Sundaram MF are among the anchor investors. The initial share-sale will be entirely an offer for sale (<keyword id="883402" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="OFS">OFS</keyword>) of 18,532,216 equity shares. Adding to it is the fact that the company holds a dominant position in east India with 17% market share in terms of capacity. <div type="image" title="Nuvoco peers" height="900" width="1200" msid="85177110" hostid="261"></div> “The country’s demand growth is likely to be led by east and central regions and will be primarily from affordable housing and infrastructure creation and the cement sector is expected to largely benefit from it. Nuvoco Vistas, being the largest cement company in the east region, is well placed to capitalise on these opportunities...We recommend to subscribe the [sic] issue from a long-term perspective,” said analysts at Investmentz.com. One biggest drawback for the company is its high debt. As of December 31, 2020, its net debt stood at ₹7,259 crore. The company intends to use the proceeds from the fresh issue to pay some of its debt. The cement manufacturer’s valuation is at a discount to its large cap peers as it partially factors high debt and low returns on capital employed (ROCE), said a report by IDBI Capital. “But given [the] up-cycle in the cement industry and expectation of improvement in margin and balance sheet deleveraging over FY21-23 earnings estimate we recommend subscribe,” added the report. It was subscribed 130.44 times on the last day of the bidding. The IPO has received bids for 74.1 crore equity shares against the IPO size of 56.85 lakh equity shares. The Rajkot-based company is a manufacturer and global supplier of forged and machined components for automobile makers. The offer from the company consisted of a fresh issue of ₹56 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) by private equity firm Rivendell PE of up to 75 lakh equity shares. The company will use the IPO proceeds to fund its long-term working capital requirements and for general corporate purposes. The company’s board of directors will consider the proposal at the extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to be held on 12 July, 2021. According to the EGM notice from One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, accessed by Business Insider, this move in order to meet the regulatory, commercial and statutory requirements before hitting the public market. According to Business Insider's previous <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/business/startups/news/paytm-has-appointed-goldman-sachs-and-jp-morgan-as-the-bankers-for-its-upcoming-ipo/articleshow/83574242.cms">report,</a> the digital payments giant is planning to file its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) next month. The 21-year old firm ⁠— which started as a payments company and then went to add a payments bank, trading platform, online retail and games to its business ⁠— is looking to raise $3 billion, at a valuation of $25-$30 billion. About half of this, $1.6 billion, will be new shares and the remaining will be raised by existing investors who will sell their shares in the IPO. For this, the company has appointed Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan as the merchant bankers. It is also looking to appoint more merchant bankers and advisors such as Morgan Stanley and Citigroup Inc for the IPO. This could be the largest IPO in India, surpassing Coal India Ltd’s offering to raise ₹15,000 crore ($2 billion at current conversion rate) in 2010. Paytm has raised about $3.2 billion in total, so far, from marquee investors like Berkshire Hathaway, Alibaba Group and more. The company was valued at $16 billion in its last funding round raised in November 2019.
