<keyword id="19894961" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="apple" source="keywords">Apple</keyword> on Wednesday announced to expand its footprint in <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="india" source="keywords">India</keyword> with opening a new office in the heart of Bengaluru, as the <keyword id="19912026" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="iphone" source="keywords">iPhone</keyword> maker cements its position in the country with ramping up local manufacturing.<br /><br />Located at Minsk Square which is the key location in the city, the new office will house up to 1,200 employees.<br /><br />It comprises of 15 floors and features dedicated lab space, areas for collaboration and wellness, and <keyword id="20221613" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="caffe-macs" source="keywords">Caffe Macs</keyword>.<br /><br />"Bengaluru is already home to so many of our talented teams, including software engineering and hardware technologies, operations, customer support, and more," an Apple spokesperson told IANS.<br /><br />"Like everything we do at Apple, this workspace is created to foster innovation, creativity, and connection. Apple opens new office in India, to house up to 1,200 employees

<p>Apple's brand-new <span>Caffè Macs</span> finally opened this week, after more than two years in the making.</p>
<p><span>The new cafeteria is located at the corner of Bandley and Alves Drive in Cupertino, about half a mile from Apple's Infinite Loop complex. </span><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;">The new two-story building houses a cafe, meeting rooms, lounge areas, and a courtyard. There's also lots of underground parking, <span>but employees could easily walk or take a company shuttle to get there for lunch. </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.5em;"><span>The 21,468-square-foot project </span><a href="http://www.mercurynews.com/cupertino/ci_20481367/apple-gets-green-light-new-21-468-square">was approved</a><span> by the city's Planning Commission in April 2012. </span></span></p>
<p><span>Though guests are allowed to visit the main cafeteria at the Infinite Loop campus, the new <span>Caffè Macs</span> at Alves is open to Apple employees exclusively. <span>A</span><span>ccording to </span><span></span><a href="http://www.mercurynews.com/cupertino/ci_20481367/apple-gets-green-light-new-21-468-square">the Mercury News</a><span>,</span><span> most of the offices surrounding the new Caffè Macs are occupied by Apple. </span></span></p>
<p>"We like to provide a level of security so that people and employees can feel comfortable talking about their business, their research and whatever project they're engineering without fear of competition sort of overhearing their conversations," Dan Whisenhunt, Apple's director of real estate facilities, s<a href="http://www.mercurynews.com/cupertino/ci_20481367/apple-gets-green-light-new-21-468-square">aid at the 2012 approval meeting.</a> "That is a real issue today in Cupertino because we've got other companies here in our same business."</p>

If you can stand for a while, then sit, and so on and so forth, it's much better for your lifestyle," Cook said in <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2018-06-13/the-david-rubenstein-show-tim-cook-video">a recent interview</a> with the Carlyle Group's David Rubenstein published on Wednesday.</p><p>He then encouraged the billionaire financier to stand with him - just like a prominent feature on the Apple Watch. </p><p>Cook has previously <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/feb/11/tim-cook-apple-watch-health-benefits">cited doctors</a> who say that "sitting is the new cancer." </p><p>"We have a lot of people using the Apple Watch at Apple, and ten minutes before the hour, suddenly they all get up and move. There's also a massive gym and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-spaceship-headquarters-causes-split-between-employees-2017-12">a shuttle service</a> to take workers to satellite offices and the company's old headquarters, which is a 10-minute drive <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-spaceship-headquarters-causes-split-between-employees-2017-12">away</a>. </p><p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><p class="source"><span>Arco</span></p><p class="caption">Apple's table is identical to this one, only twice as long.</p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>That's not even counting the <a href="https://www.wallpaper.com/design/jony-ive-apple-park">furniture inside Apple Park</a>, which has been carefully hand-selected. Here are some of the pieces we know about: In addition to a standing desk, workers get <a href="https://9to5mac.com/2018/01/29/vitra-pacific-chair-review-apple-park/">desk chairs made by Vitra</a>, which cost $1,200. Common areas and cafes are dotted with <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-park-steve-jobs-theater-poltrona-frau-chair-2017-11">chairs</a> designed by Nauto Fukasawa that <a href="https://www.highsnobiety.com/2017/11/16/apple-park-hiroshima-chair/">cost $2,500</a>. Many tables are 18-foot long oak slabs, which are <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-park-steve-jobs-theater-poltrona-frau-chair-2017-11">custom</a> as well. </p><p>Apple didn't respond to a question from Business Insider about the specific model of standing desk its employees use. Interior photos <a href="https://9to5mac.com/2018/01/29/vitra-pacific-chair-review-apple-park/">published in the Wall Street Journal</a> don't depict any standing desks.</p><p>One reason why a company would invest so much in a new building is to help it recruit highly-paid software developers and tech workers, who have other options for employment, but who might want to work in a beautiful architectural landmark.   </p><p>Cook and Apple seem happy with Apple Park. "Steve [Jobs] had the vision that the workplace should facilitate people working together … having these common areas that people could work together and run into each other without planning on doing it … and that the level of ideas and creativity and innovation that would come out of that would be phenomenal," Cook said in <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2018-06-13/the-david-rubenstein-show-tim-cook-video">the interview with Rubenstein</a>. <p dir="ltr"><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div><p></p></div></div>Silicon Valley's perk-filled campuses are the stuff of legends.</p><p dir="ltr">With a huge variety of free or cheap food available at all times of the day, tech companies' cafeterias are arguably the best perk of all. </p><p dir="ltr">But which tech company has the best food? <a href="https://foursquare.com/">Foursquare</a> helped us compile a list of the tech cafeterias with the most satisfied customers. </p><p dir="ltr">To determine the ranking, Foursquare's data science team used a set of algorithms to calculate a "sentiment score." The sentiment score represents how many likes a cafeteria received, as well as whether the tone of the tips were generally positive or negative.</p><p dir="ltr">The more positive the sentiment score, the better it did in Foursquare's ranking.</p><p dir="ltr"><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Foursquare's own Fat Denny's cafeteria was excluded from the analysis</span><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">.</span></p>

<p>Apple's mobile payment service, Apple Pay, is expected to launch within the coming days, and it looks like the company is already training its retail employees for the big rollout.</p>
<p>9to5Mac's Mark Gurman <a href="http://9to5mac.com/2014/10/12/apple-pay-setup-detailed-retailers-begin-training-as-service-launches-at-apple-hq/">has obtained screenshots of the setup process</a> and training materials for Apple employees from a reliable source. The materials show you exactly what the process of setting up Apple Pay on your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus will look like. </p>
<p>Users will have the option of setting up Apple Pay either through the Passbook app or through a new option in the Settings menu called Passbook &amp; Apple Pay. Here's what the initial setup screen will look like, along with the new Settings option and the Passbook welcome screen:</p>

<p>You can add in credit cards either through iTunes or by scanning the card in front of your iPhone 6's camera.</p>

<p>Apple Pay will allow you to do more than just tap your phone to make purchases. It'll also show you a list of recent transactions for each card, access to contact your bank, and the option to turn on push notifications.</p>
<p>And, if a credit card expires, the app will update your card automatically in the system with a new expiration date from your credit card company. There would be no need to manually delete the old payment information - Apple Pay would simply issue a push notification to alert you that a change occurred. </p>
