Chennai, The Indian space rockets are set to go <keyword id="6355671" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="green">green</keyword> as <keyword id="6358064" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="isro">ISRO</keyword> is working to replace its existing hazardous <keyword id="4869" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Fuel">fuel</keyword> with non-hazardous and environment- friendly fuels for its rockets and <keyword id="41530" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="satellites">satellites</keyword>, the ISRO Chairman said. He also said that the <keyword id="116095" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Space-Research-Organisation">Indian Space Research Organisation</keyword> (ISRO) is looking at green propulsion through hydrogen peroxide in its rocket that would take Indians into the space under its 'Gaganyaan' mission. "Since humans will be inside the rocket, we want only non-hazardous fuel and not the hazardous one to power the human space mission's Gaganyaan rocket," ISRO chief K Sivan, who is also Secretary in <keyword id="245720" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Department-of-Space">Department of Space</keyword>, told IANS. According to him, ISRO is also looking at rocket engines powered by hydrogen peroxide as a mono-propellant or as a bi-propellant along with ethanol. ISRO is also developing another green fuel - LOX/Methane- liquid oxygen as oxidiser and methane as fuel. "One month back, we tested the LOX/Methane engine and the results were good," Sivan said. The LOX/Methane propellant has advantages in terms of specific impulse, storability, low toxicity, and cost. According to Sivan, the space agency is looking to replace its existing liquid engine fuels with green fuel-powered ones. ISRO has also developed ISROSENE, which is a rocket-grade version of kerosene as an alternative to conventional hydrazine rocket fuel. Queried about the green option for its solid fuel-fired engines, Sivan said the work towards this end is also progressing well. As regards powering the satellites, ISRO is working towards lightweight electrical propulsion in place of chemical fuel. "Now, fuel constitutes nearly 50 per cent of the satellite weight. On the other hand, the electrical propulsion system is much lighter, say 200-300 kg. When electrical propulsion is used, then the satellite's payload can be increased or the satellite can be put into orbit by a lightweight rocket," Sivan said. The ISRO chief said that the payload of six-tonne satellite with chemical fuel can be configured in a satellite weighing four tonnes when powered by electrical propulsion. Presently, ISRO can put into orbit communication satellites weighing up to four tonnes with its rockets and satellites over four tonnes are orbited using European space agency Arianespace's Ariane rocket. "When the weight of the satellite goes down due to electric propulsion, we can use a normal geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle (GSLV) rocket instead of GSLV-Mk III rocket or the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) instead of the normal GSLV rocket," Sivan added. "We will soon launch an electric propulsion technology demonstrator satellite," he added. ISRO has successfully demonstrated electric propulsion system for station-keeping operations in the South Asia Satellite, launched on May 5, 2017. In 2010, ISRO flew its communication satellite GSAT-4 with electrical propulsion and other new technologies. The satellite however did not reach its intended orbit owing to problems in the GSLV rocket's third stage. Six shutters of the Pamba dam, which were opened on Sunday evening after its water level rose near the permissible limit, were shut on Monday, reducing concerns of flood downstream. Officials said there was a 30 to 40 cm rise in water level in Pamba but the river did not overflow its banks. They said the shutters of the dams were closed after bringing down the water level in the dam to 982.8 metres. The dam's maximum water level is 986.332 metres. Low-lying areas in Kottayam and Alappuzha districts of Kerala continued to experience a flood-like situation with water surging following downpour, although there was a respite from rains since the morning. Two rain related deaths were reported from Kottayam district on Monday. There was no fresh report of deaths in flood-related incidents in the state and the figure stood at 24. The flood situation in Assam deteriorated on Tuesday with nearly 14,000 people across three districts being affected, an official bulletin said. On Monday, over 9,200 persons were suffering due to the deluge across four districts. According to the daily flood report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), more than 13,800 persons are hit due to floods in Dhemaji, Baksa and Morigaon districts. Dhemaji is the worst-hit district with more than 12,000 people suffering, followed by Baksa (1,000 persons affected) and Morigaon (over 800 people). Meanwhile, the flood situation in Uttar Pradesh improved further as three districts were dropped from the list of affected places, officials said. On Monday, a total of 19 districts in the state were listed as affected by the flood, however, Mahrajganj, Pilibhit and Siddharth Nagar were removed from the list the next day, they said. Sixteen districts in the state are still in the official list of places affected by the floods. According to Relief Commissioner Sanjay Goyal, a total of 517 villages in these 16 districts are affected and 268 have got marooned. Sharda river in Palliakalan (Lakhimpur Kheri) and Ghaghra in Turtipar (Ballia) are flowing above the danger mark, he said, adding that relief and rescue operations are underway. Very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in western Uttar Pradesh, while some locations in the eastern part of the state received heavy showers. According to the meteorological department, light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm, accompanied with lightening, also occurred at some places in the state. Rain or thundershower is very likely at most places in the state from Wednesday to Friday, the MeT department said. Delhi received sporadic light rains as high humidity continued to trouble residents. The Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative figures for the city, recorded 8.6 mm rainfall till 5:30 pm. The Lodhi Road and Ayanagar weather stations recorded 3.2 mm and 1.3 mm precipitation, respectively. The city recorded a maximum of 36.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, the meteorological department said. Earlier, the IMD had predicted 'moderate to heavy rains' in the city from Sunday evening to Wednesday. The IMD has forecast that heavy rainfall is likely in isolated places of coastal Maharashtra, including Mumbai, till August 15. While Mumbai is expected to receive light to moderate showers, neighbouring districts of Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Ratnagiri may witness heavy rains at isolated places, an IMD official said. "A similar forecast has been issued for Pune, Kolhapur and Satara districts as well till August 15. However, districts in North Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha may receive light to moderate rainfall in the same period," the official said. Some parts of Himachal Pradesh received light rainfall, with the MeT Department forecasting rains till August 17. Una and Nahan each received 2 mm rainfall, while Kangra 0.4 mm and Sundernagar 0.3 mm, Shimla MeT Dentre Director Manmohan Singh said. Rains have been forecast in the hill state till Monday. The maximum temperature in the state increased by one to two degrees during the last 24 hours, he added. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Una at 34 degrees Celsius and the lowest in Keylong at 13 degrees Celsius, Singh said. In Punjab and Haryana, the maximum temperatures hovered close to normal. According to the MeT forecast, rain or thunder showers are likely at many places in Haryana and Punjab over the next two days. Despite adverse weather conditions in Pettimudi, rescue operations by NDRF, fire and police department personnel are continuing to recover bodies of more people feared trapped in the landslide, officials said. While 12 people were rescued, 43 bodies were found. Meanwhile, incessant rains, landslides and opening of shutters of dams across rivers have led to rise in water levels in rivers and streams in central Kerala, aggravating the flood situation. Six shutters of Pamba dam in Pathanamthitta district were opened this afternoon after its water level rose to 983.45 meter mark, raising concerns about floods in Ranni, Chengannur and Kuttanad regions. The shutters were opened to bring down the water level in the dam to 982 meters in nine hours, Pathanamthitta district officials said. There will be a 40 cm rise in water level in river Pamba, they said. Anticipating breach of the river in areas downstream of Pathanamthitta, the district administration has sought the assistance of fishermen to carry out rescue operations. Fishermen from Neendakara and Alappad in neighbouring Kollam district will reach vulnerable areas of Pathanamthitta, including Thiruvalla and Adoor with 15 boats, officials said. Last month, 30 fishermen arrived from Kollam with 10 boats deployed at Kozhencherry and Ranni, officials said. Nearly 100 families living in the vulnerable areas in Ranni have been shifted to safety, they said. Normal life of people in low lying areas of Kottayam and Alappuzha has been affected with flood waters entering their homes. Low-lying areas in Kottayam and Alappuzha districts have been badly hit due to flooding. Hundreds of families have been shifted to relief camps from-low lying areas, including Kumarakom and Kuttanad regions of Kottayam and Alappuzha districts, they said. Farming in Kuttanad 'Below Sea Level Farming System', the only such one in India practicing rice cultivation below sea level for the past two centuries, has been affected due to the breach of bunds due to floods, farmers of the area said. An airport taxi driver was washed away in flood waters at Manarcad area in Kottayam district in the wee hours of Sunday. The body of the man, identified as Justin from Angamaly, was later recovered by the rescue personnel. Officials said four cases of drowning have been reported from Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode and Alappuzha districts in the past 24 hours. Considering the spread of COVID-19, the authorities have opened separate camps for different categories of the flood affected people. In Ernakulam district, 1,203 flood affected people have been shifted to relief camps. While 1,118 people have been lodged in general relief camps, 67 senior citizens are in camps for those above 60 years of age. Eighteen people are staying in the camps set for quarantined people, district administration officials said. With no big announcements and visibly reduced influencer promotions, this phone did go under the radar for many. However, I got my hands on a review unit and have been spending some quality time with it. After my thorough testing and usage, I can say that this smartphone is an outcast in its own clan, but it’s not outdated. The smartphone is available for you to buy from Samsung’s own D2C website, Flipkart, and chroma retail stores. Unboxing - We don’t get a charger! I was surprised when I had the F23 5G’s box in my hand. It was compact and I knew what it meant. Surprisingly, the F23 does not get a charger inside the box just like its premium siblings in the S series. The unboxing experience is underwhelming since we only get some basic paperwork, a Type-C charging cable, and of course the phone. <div type="image" title="You get an earphone jack on the Galaxy F23 5G" msid="91106506" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;You get an earphone jack on the F23 5G&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> While I do appreciate the motive behind these reductions, Samsung needs to understand that a consumer buying a product at this price point expects these accessories inside the box. Thanks to it’s massive R&amp;D unit, the brand should be the first one to understand that this might move consumer preference toward other brands as they might not want to spend more for a charger. <div type="image" title="Galaxy F23 5G has a plastic back" msid="91106562" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Galaxy F23 5G has a plastic back&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Design &amp; Build Quality - Back to Basics Samsung has opted the tried and tested formula when it comes to F23 5G’s design. A minimalistic upgrade from the F22 in terms of looks, the only striking difference is the new camera array on the back. Now we see a triple camera set-up on the phone compared to the quad-camera set-up on the F22. Aesthetically, the aqua blue colorway with me is appealing to the eyes, even though it looks more like a lighter shade of minty green. If you like your phones with a bolder color then you can go for the forest green color option. The build quality and material used are also familiar to F22, with the phone sporting a plastic body and back. Fortunately, the quality of the plastic is stellar and it doesn’t seem compromised by any means. The plastic body also helps in reducing weight since the smartphone is anyway carrying a massive 5000 mAh battery. All though it weighs 198 grams, a perfect blend of semi-flat edges and even weight distribution makes it easy to hold. <div type="image" title="Galaxy F23 5G is chunky but easy to hold" msid="91106570" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Galaxy F23 5G is chunky but easy to hold&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Other design aspects are what you expect from a Samsung Galaxy. On the right side, we get to see volume rockers and a power lock &amp; unlock button. The power button also incorporates the fingerprint sensor, which is not as snappy as you’d expect it to be in 2022. It does unlock the phone, but only after placing your finger at a correct angle. A light tap on the sensor does not do the job, and I had to consciously press the power button for the phone to recognize my fingerprint. This was a turn-off for me since its counterparts like the Redmi note 11 Pro+ and the Realme 9 5G can unlock with just a tap. At the bottom, we get to see a 3.5mm headphone jack which is a bonus these days. It also works really well and delivers crisp audio. Right next to it is a USB Type-C charging port along with a speaker grill. <div type="image" title="Galaxy F23 5G has a side-mounted finger print sensor" msid="91106589" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Galaxy F23 5G has a side-mounted finger print sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The SIM card slot situation is also favorable with 2 dedicated slots for nano SIM and a slot for a micro SD card. Display - Best in the segment Before we touch upon the quality of the display, it’s important to point out that upfront the F23 looks outdated. With a teardrop design combined with considerably thick bezels and a chin, I felt as if I am using a smartphone from 2018. Samsung’s recycled design choice takes away from what the brand has achieved in terms of the specs on this panel. The 6.6-inch display is an LCD screen, and it looks great. The screen produces rich colors that ensure you enjoy watching your content. It is also well lit and you can look at it under direct sunlight as well, given you set it to maximum brightness. The screen is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5, ensuring an aid against scratches. <div type="image" title="Galaxy F23 5G comes with 90 Hz refresh rate" msid="91106653" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Galaxy F23 5G comes with 90 Hz refresh rate&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> What made the F23’s display stand out for me was the smooth execution of the adaptive refresh rate feature. The phone can switch and adapt between 60 and 120 Hz depending on the app you are using. So far, the experience is smooth and I enjoyed the easy switch between a web page and a game. The display’s quality and higher refresh rate definitely make it stand out in the mid-range segment. Issues like not having a punch-hole display and an always-on feature might not affect the general consumer, but I feel Samsung undermined its own product with this decision. When I had just started enjoying the display Samsung’s cutbacks came back to haunt me, the convict this time was the speaker. Samsung Galaxy F23 features a single speaker set-up which by itself is a fairly loud unit, however, even after a week of usage I still miss a stereo set-up. If you are someone who watches content on their phone, without earplugs then this is a point to note. Samsung Galaxy F23 5G UI - Same old, same old By now, I have accepted Samsung’s move of providing a more robust OS experience, which seems familiar across all its devices. While it does add a sense of reliability, it also makes the usage boring. Just like other Samsung devices, the F23 5G also runs on Samsung’s own One UI skin paired with Android 11. With familiar animation and app icon designs, you won’t really feel a difference if you are coming from a Samsung phone. Familiarity also means the convenience of generic Samsung features like lift to wake, navigation gesture switch, and one-handed mode. You can also use Samsung’s good old widgets to improve your workflow like calenders, reminders and even emails. Aesthetically, I could change themes, but I would suggest sticking with the classic Samsung One UI skin, it's subtle and less cartoonish than other options. Booting up the device there is some bloatware onboard which was surprising. Apps like Byjus, Josh, Mx Takatak, Moj and even Sharechat are pre-installed. This is a first for me in a Samsung device. Thankfully this package can be uninstalled. Before closing this section I have to talk about the security of the device. Both in terms of hardware and data privacy. Samsung provides you with both fingerprint sensor and face unlock feature on the F23. Unfortunately, both of them are sloppy in their job. While I have explained about the fingerprint sensor earlier, the face unlock is even more unreliable. It takes two steps to set up one with your glasses and another without them. Yet, I have not been able to unlock the phone seamlessly even once. Maybe this will improve with future updates but as of now the situation is abysmal. From the data privacy perspective, a highlight of the device is the availability of Knox security which protects your data against unfortunate intrusions. While data safety as a concern is still picking up in our country, it is commendable on Samsung’s part to provide this feature at this price point. Performance Samsung Galaxy F23 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G chipset, which is decent for this price range given we see it on the Nord CE and Mi 10i. While I can’t test the 5G prowess of the smartphone yet, Samsung says it comes with 12 5G bands which do make the phone future proof. Performance-wise, the F23 5G performs decently well across multiple strata. Be it calling, or web surfing the phone does not lag and provides peak output without breaking a sweat. Memory management is a bit sloppy though, with the phone occasionally missing out on booting up basic apps like chrome from the point where I left them. The variant with me comes with 6GB of RAM and yet I faced this issue. If you are planning to buy the F23 then I strongly recommend ditching the 4GB RAM variant. As for storage, the 128 GB internal capacity will be enough for most of the users, but in case you still want more, you can always use an SD card. Things get complicated for performance-hungry tasks like gaming. I had an hour-long session of BGMI on F23. It runs the game smoothly on HD settings but after the games were done, I could feel considerable heating. So in case you are buying it for serious gaming, then here’s a heads up. With a 5000 mAh cell, the F23 should last well over a day for a generic user. This involves mostly calling messaging and casual social media browsing. For a heavy user like me, mileage does get affected but not so much. After a long day of testing, the phone would stand at a solid 10%. Since we don’t get a charger in the box, finding the right brick is important. The F23 supports 25W fast charging, so the usual Samsung wall adapter worked for me. I used the 20W Samsung brick and the phone charged from 10-100% in about 1 hour 20 minutes. Now even if you don’t charge to a complete 100, the F23 won’t give up on you, thanks to the chipset’s efficiency and the big battery. F23 5G Camera The Galaxy F23 5G has a triple camera set-up at the back featuring a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. <div type="image" title="Galaxy F23 5G&amp;#39;s wide-angle sensor" msid="91106681" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Galaxy F23 5G&amp;#39;s wide-angle sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The primary sensor performs fairly well in bright outdoor environments with crisp images and commendable color reproduction. The ultra-wide sensor performs its job well and creates more room for you to click pictures. While the camera can shoot 4K at 30 fps, the results are not desirable. The videos look saturated and the final product is not worthy of your social media feed. The front camera is an 8MP shooter and gives you an option to go wide as well. The image results are decent, and generally quite nice. As my hypothesis said, the phone is an outcast when compared to its counterparts, but it’s not outdated. In a way, this is not a device for the young, but it is a perfect smartphone for people looking for an option for their elderly. With Samsung’s trusted brand image, a solid UI and future proof 5G chipset, and a massive battery life, this makes it to be a great gifting option. However, this offer is for a limited period only. So if you are looking to bring home the Galaxy M52 5G, take advantage of the deal. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Design" comment="subhead" text="Design">Design</cmsannotation> The phone features a polycarbonate body, with a glossy finish. On its black back, it has a striped design featuring silver vertical stripes. Even though the back and sides are made of plastic, the phone still feels very premium to hold. While it claims to be the “leanest” Samsung M-series phone, with its slim profile and a thickness of just 7.4mm, it isn’t the leanest device as Mi 11X lite is only 6.81mm thick. It feels lightweight in the hands weighing just 173g, however, the Mi 11X Lite only weighs 159g. The rear camera bump is protruding off the body and is placed on the left side of the back. It houses a triple camera setup, unlike its predecessor which has a quad-camera set-up. On the front, we have the 32 MP front camera that is accommodated in a punch-hole type cut out at the top of the display. The bezels around the display are fairly thin. On the right side, we have the volume buttons at the top and the power button just below it. This makes you take screenshots using two hands since you have to click the volume down and power button simultaneously and both are on the same side. The power button also houses the fingerprint scanner which is very snappy. While I have moved on to wireless headphones, I still like using my wired earphones when the other ones are charging. And not being able to connect them to this Galaxy M52 device is annoying at times. Interestingly, its predecessor, the Galaxy M51, did feature the 3.5mm audio jack. Again, it might not be an issue for many users, but if for you it is, then you can look at Realme X7 Max 5G in the same price range. Overall, the phone feels good in the hands and single-handle operation is comfortable. The phone is sleek and is lightweight, but the back does catch fingerprints and using a back cover is recommended. Design-wise, the only negatives would be its audio features; lack of 3.5mm jack and poor sound quality from the speakers. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Display" comment="subhead" text="Display">Display</cmsannotation> The display is one of its superior features. It is equipped with a 6.7-inch FHD+ sAMOLED+ Infinity-O display that comes with a <keyword id="8793349" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="120hz-refresh-rate" source="Orion">120Hz refresh rate</keyword>. The refresh rate can be set to standard 60Hz by going to Settings &gt; Display and tapping motion smoothness. With 120Hz refresh rate, it offers smooth scrolling and transitions. The AMOLED display supports up to 1080 x 2400 (FHD+) resolution and delivers beautiful vivid picture quality by default. You get deeper blacks and high contrast, making the pictures look lively, and it can be adjusted by tweaking the screen mode to “Vivid” from “Natural” in Settings. <div type="image" title="Display Image" msid="86866947" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The AMOLED display supports up to 120Hz refresh rate. &amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div>Reading e-books and viewing your favourite video content should be pleasing on this display. I am having a good time with this phone’s display as I can catch the daily news with the Eye comfort shield that filters the blue light and reduces strain on eyes. Watching videos on YouTube and OTT platforms is truly an amazing experience given the picture clarity and sharpness. Even while playing games, the display offers clarity and with its 120Hz refresh rate the experience is quite smooth. It was easy to spot opponents in battle royale games and first person shooter games in general. The picture quality and the clarity of the display delivers an enjoyable gaming experience. The Galaxy M52 5G’s has Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the display that should offer some amount of protection from scratches and accidental drops. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Performance" comment="subhead" text="Performance">Performance</cmsannotation> The Galaxy M52 5G is powered by a competent mid-range processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. It offers consistent performance across the system and applications. The apps load in no time, and I did not experience any lag while switching between them or searching for them. I found the performance of the phone to be exceptionally good while gaming or streaming content from OTT platforms. <div type="image" title="Back" msid="86867052" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div>I encountered an issue where the M52 did struggle a bit. While all the devices in my room had no issues connecting to my 5GHz WiFi connection, the M52 did show sign of poor connectivity, which was due to the range as it improved as I moved closer to the router. Samsung and other smartphone makers are now providing 5G support to mid-range and budget smartphones, and with this Galaxy M52, you get support for 11 bands of 5G. However, 5G is yet to roll out in India and you will not be able to use this feature any time soon in the country. The 5G support makes it future proof and also allows you to use the feature when you travel to a country that supports the 5G network. Gaming I tried games like Asphalt 9 and Battlegrounds Mobile India, and the performance of the phone was quite incredible. Both the fast chipset and good quality display combine to offer crisp and vibrant graphics that help in gaming. There was no lag or frame drop instance while playing any of these highly demanding games. It did get warm but I did not experience abnormal heating after playing for 45 minutes to an hour. It may heat up if played for longer but I cannot be certain since I did not test it yet. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Battery" comment="subhead" text="Battery">Battery</cmsannotation> There is a significant drop in battery capacity from its predecessor. The Galaxy M51 was equipped with a gigantic 7,000mAh battery while this Galaxy M52 comes with a 5,000mAh battery, which is still massive. However, this is quite impressive for this device since its thickness is claimed to be reduced by 21%. In terms of performance, the battery life is impressive as it gave me over 9 hours of screen time with mixed usage including light gaming, streaming and web-browsing. The phone comes with a 15W charger in the box, which takes about two hours to recharge the battery fully from under 10% charge. Nevertheless, the phone is compatible with a 25W Samsung charger that should improve the charging time significantly. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Camera" comment="subhead" text="Camera">Camera</cmsannotation> Interestingly, Samsung has reduced the number of camera sensors on this Galaxy M52 compared to its predecessor. The rear camera module features a 64MP primary sensor, 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP Macro sensor. The 5MP depth sensor that was available on its predecessor, Galaxy M51, is missing on this device. <div type="image" title="Rear Camera" msid="86867077" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The rear camera module features a 64MP primary sensor, 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP Macro sensor. &amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div>The camera offers fairly accurate daylight performance with the primary sensor. The pictures have high dynamic range, sharp focus and clarity. The ultra-wide lens also captures a large field of view and delivers decent performance during the day. The phone doesn’t come with optical image stabilisation and the output can come out shaking at times if the phone is not held stably. For better results., using a tripod while shooting videos is recommended. The colour reproduction during the day was very accurate, while at night, the colours were faded, which is a common issue in smartphone cameras. <div type="image" title="Wide Angle Night mode" msid="86867189" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Ultra-wide in Night mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div>You can shoot videos with the front camera in the same resolutions and frame rates as that with the rear camera. I shot videos in 4K 30fps mode, and the footage captured details however the output becomes grainy when you zoom in. Using the same mode, you click images with an ultra-wide sensor and digitally zoom up to 10x. Then we have the video mode to record footage. There is a Single Take mode that can capture a moment in various ways including, a panoramic view, regular view and a video. The Fun mode is integrated with Snapchat filters and allows you to click images with funny backgrounds and virtual props. To explore other modes, you will have to click on More, where you can access Pro Mode, to set the auto-focus, white balance, ISO, aperture and other settings to click pictures like a professional. Other modes here include macro, portrait, hyperlapse, slow motion video and panorama. The camera app is very responsive when you open it. Switch between modes is also smooth and the camera loading time after clicking an image or recording a video is remarkably low. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Software" comment="subhead" text="Software">Software</cmsannotation> The Galaxy M52 5G comes with Samsung One UI 3.1 running on Android 11. The UI is very clean and offers plenty of customisation options. You can choose from plenty of widgets that can be added to your home screen. There are plenty of themes and wallpapers options that users can use to personalise the phone. Users can also change the layout of how apps will appear and how many apps will appear in each line. The phone comes with pre-installed applications that are both native and third-party apps like Moj, Daily Hunt, Byjus, Josh, Amazon and others. While you can delete most unwanted applications, you will not be able to delete system apps like the Clock, Calculator, Gallery and others that are needed for the smooth functioning of its software. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Verdict" comment="subhead" text="Verdict">Verdict</cmsannotation> The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G has seen a major upgrade from its predecessor. The display, performance and camera are all above-average. The phone does lack some places such as the missing 3.5mm jack, no stereo speakers for audio and mediocre macro lens. Most of these are not a deal breaker for many. So overall it's a fairly good deal for the price and it gets better if you can get it during a sale. However, you should note that there are plenty of other options from its competitors, such as the OnePlus Nord 2 , Mi 11X and Realme X7 Max . While the OnePlus Nord 2 and the Realme X7 Max have the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, the Mi 11X has the Snapdragon 870 which are slightly more efficient than the Snapdragon 778G chipset used in the Galaxy M52, the battery life is better on M52, it's the lightest among its competitors and also offers same, if not better, camera performance than its competitors.
