Indian companies are snapping up graduates from premier B-schools like Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Indian School of Business (ISB), Xaviers Institute of Management (XLRI) with higher salaries. This year, some of the most promising job offers came from consulting, banking and finance sectors. The salaries too, remained above the average packages offered in the country. Here are the top B-schools and the jobs and salaries they were offered.

<ul><li>The highest job offer at the <keyword id="119622" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Institute-of-Foreign-Trade">Indian Institute of Foreign Trade</keyword> (<keyword id="6735361" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="iift">IIFT</keyword>) stood at a staggering ₹75 lakh per annum — one of the highest pay packets received so far across management institutes. </li><li>As many as 125 companies visited the campus and the average compensation stood at ₹20.48 lakh. </li><li>IIFT said that nearly 28% of its graduates received pre-placement offers.</li></ul>The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) beat Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Xaviers School of Management (XLRI) and Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi to bag the highest salary offer at ₹75 lakh per annum. The institute, which operates under the commerce ministry however saw only a marginal increase in average compensation to ₹20.5 lakh. As many as 125 companies visited the campus this year and over 40 first-time recruiters hired this year. This includes consulting and banking majors McKinsey &amp; Co, Reckitt Benckiser, RBL Bank and Axis Bank. “The largest ever batch of 2018-20 has been placed in various reputed organizations. The successful placement is a testament to the rigorous academic involvement and professional exposure IIFT provides to its students,” <a href="https://m.hindustantimes.com/brand-post/iift-final-placements-sees-the-record-of-recruiters-attending-the-campus/story-ERcqleK0GdUAc3eDZkqAoO_amp.html">said</a> Rohit Mehtani, head of corporate relations and placement division. The students received job offers from companies across sectors like consulting, banking and finance, sales, marketing and operations. The top recruiters include Goldman Sachs, Yes Bank, Dabur, TATA International among others. Offers from tech giants — Microsoft, Wipro, Cognizant and Capgemini — for IT and product management roles also continued to grow. The growing trend of summer placements and pre-placement offers too might have had an effect on the increased interest of recruiters. IIFT said that nearly 28% of its graduates received pre-placement offers. During the summer placements as well, the average stipend stood at a whopping ₹2 lakh a month. “The students at IIFT were placed across 96 companies. The highest stipend offered was ₹3.2 lakh per month. IIFT receives highest job offer at ₹75 lakh — that’s higher than XLRI, FMS and a few IIMs

For the top performing quartile, the salaries went as high as ₹37.5 lakh. Though FMS ranks 35th in top Indian B-schools, the students who get admission to this Delhi University-affiliated college have to score 99% in CAT.  Startups and other businesses come hiring at elite B-schools The high salaries of FMS students is not an aberration. In fact, across elite schools average compensations have been growing in spite of the slowdown. These two B-schools have seen placement offers as good as those at IIMs

B-school students get summer placements — but for technology job profiles

<ul><li>B-schools should have access to internships and placement opportunities for students. </li><li>Of the total 360,000 students enrolling in postgraduate courses in India, only 60% land a management job. </li><li>Management has been the hottest sector to enroll in, for internships, at nearly 47%.</li></ul>Indian employers want MBA graduates who are ready to lead, and provide fresh ideas. However, fresh graduates are walking into campus placements with nothing but bookish knowledge. This is because many B-schools are unable to provide their students with a basic internship programme. And, that is affecting their employability too. “Companies want to hire ready-to-lead managers whereas most of the B-Schools lack access to meaningful internships and placement opportunities,” ET <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/jobs/employability-of-graduates-from-new-and-lower-tier-b-schools-a-challenge-aima-director-general/articleshow/70468701.cms?from=mdr">reported</a> citing Rekha Sethi, director general, AIMA. <ul><li>Despite slowdown, top management schools have managed to beat the average salary packages in India — extending as high as ₹2.3 million as the starting pay for domestic offers. </li><li>This placement season, several management institutions — including <keyword id="63618" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Indian-Institute-of-Management">Indian Institute of Management</keyword> (IIM) Lucknow, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode, Management Development Institute (MDI) — clocked 100% placements within the first week. </li><li>The highest salary bagged on international offers at <keyword id="56716" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="IIM-Lucknow">IIM Lucknow</keyword> was ₹5.8 million while the highest recorded domestic salary was ₹5.4 million. </li><li>At Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon, Amazon offered the highest package at ₹4 million.</li></ul>Despite slowdown, top management schools have managed to beat the average salary packages in India. Average salaries went up by 22% at IIM-K IIM Kozhikode, on the other hand, placed over 400 students, witnessing a 22% increase in the average salaries as compared to last year. IIMK has seen a 200% surge in offers from start-ups along with more than 150% increase in the roles from e-commerce firms securing 12.5% of the total offers from these sectors,” said professor Shovan Chowdhury, chairperson of <keyword id="8671808" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="placements-at-iim">placements at IIM</keyword> Kozhikode. The rankings are based on a number of parameters including teaching, learning &amp; resources, research, placement metrics, and outreach &amp; women participation. Here are the top 10: 1. Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore Score: 81.34 Total number of students enrolled: 830 Placement Record: 399 out of 407 admitted students placed in 2017-18 with an average salary of ₹2.2 million. 2. While Boston Consulting Group emerged as the leading recruiter at XLRI, which also scored 27% of job offers in the from sales &amp; marketing domain. For many fresh graduates, consulting firms offered roles across profiles such as data science, analytics and project management among others. India’s top B-school campuses — including Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Kozhikode and Xavier’s School of Management (XLRI) — made up about 80% of hiring across all management schools. IIM Bangalore reportedly scored several offers including overseas placements, with over 30% of those in the consulting sector.
