You know, they think 'em, [but] they get fired from their job if they come out and say it."</p><p>Mitchell said UFC President Dana White "is pretty good with how he lets us talk and say what we want."</p><h2>Carlson told Mitchell his views on war are 'in my view true'</h2><div type="image" title="Bryce Mitchell beat Edson Barboza at UFC 272 on Saturday." height="1333" width="2000" msid="90144410" hostid="261"></div><p>To Carlson, Mitchell accused American political leaders of "profiting from the downfall of our country."</p><p>Echoing statements he made last week at an event Insider attended, Mitchell said: "If y'all don't see what's going on, you're blinded.</p><p>"Every day our inflation gets worse, our debt gets worse, our actual currency is controlled by a small group called the Federal Reserve that ain't Federal and it ain't a Reserve. It's insidious in nature; it's made to control.</p><p>"We have a lot of problems, and it's going to take a lot of things to fix it."</p><p>Said Carlson: "It's amazing …. it's amazing what you're saying."</p><p>Mitchell continued: "This country is made up of small businesses and people like myself who are anything but rich, you know, that work hard every day and have goals.</p><p>"That's what this whole thing is attacking. It's attacking the small business, the ma and pa shops — they're paying the consequences.</p><p>"All this COVID stuff has killed small businesses, what they're doing, they're giving bailouts to the big businesses, and [in] Arkansas they shut down businesses for three or four months. For however long it was, they wouldn't let us open up their gyms, and this and that.</p><p>"We're tired of this politics crap that's going on. Evil is what's going. Evil has took over this nation. And we ain'ts afraid of it, and we're ready to fight."</p><h2>Mitchell's friends apparently fear for his safety</h2><div type="image" title="Bryce Mitchell likes to air his outspoken views on government conspiracies." height="1333" width="2000" msid="90144411" hostid="261"></div><p>Because of the nature of Mitchell's opinions, and that he's using his platform as a fast-rising fighter to air them, his friends, he claims, are concerned for his wellbeing.</p><p>"They've been telling me, 'You need to load your guns up because somebody's going to try and take you out for what you're saying,'" he said.</p><p>"That's how worried people are about the state of their country. My friends think my life is could be at risk because I'm coming out here speaking truth.</p><p>"I had people say load your guns up, be ready," he continued. "I'm talking about everybody shooting everybody."</p><p>Speaking to reporters at a media event Insider attended Wednesday, Mitchell claimed "the Federal Reserve is a corrupt institution," that the US government controls him, and that he'll never shy away from speaking about it.</p><p>"I want to talk about things that are political, but I want to do it in a respectful manner and not to make people think that I think that they're stupid.</p><p>"I want to share my beliefs, hear other people's beliefs, and maybe their beliefs can sway mine. Maybe not. Maybe I can out-debate them."</p><p>A fight involving Brazilian striker Barboza is the toughest test of the unbeaten 27-year-old grappler's career so far.</p><p>But despite the magnitude of the occasion, Mitchell said, "this fight shit is so minuscule in life."</p><p>He said: "You have people out there oppressed by governments. Shit. We fall into that category, believe it or not, if you want me to get real political.</p><p>"You know the Federal Reserve is a corrupt institution. There, I went out and said it. These people control our dollar, brother, and we didn't vote for them. Think about it. You got board members voting on the value of the dollar.</p><p>"Did we vote for that? It's corrupted, so … for me to be able to talk about something greater than fighting is more purposeful than talking about anything related to fighting. And so I'm grateful to be able to do that."</p><p>Mitchell continued: "People say, 'Shut up and fight.' You know what I mean? You know what? If you don't want to hear that shit, turn the TV off and just watch the fight. You don't got to watch my interviews. Turn them off then."</p><p>The No.11-ranked contender said people should be active in conversations about government or "idiots are going to control everything we do, and we won't have a say in it."</p><p>He said: "So, yeah, I'm political because these people control me, and then you tell me I can't talk, and I have to 'Shut up and fight.'</p><p>"I'm controlled completely by the government and the value of the dollar. I get paid in dollars, okay? I don't get paid in pure gold. There are 13 bouts in total.</p><p>Despite Mitchell's ascendancy in the fight game, the process, he says, differs little from when he got into scraps as a boy.</p><p>"You get the same feel for a fight I've had since I fought people at the bus stop when I was a kid," said Mitchell.</p><p>"Now, when I go through these processes, it feels like a religious experience. I feel an overwhelming sense of purpose and passion for what I'm able to do, and I feel so blessed to be there and happy I'm healthy enough to put on a show for y'all and so happy people want to see me.</p><p>"I feel appreciated, and it feels amazing."</p>

The Nationals want to send the message that they're genuinely trying to retain Harper while Harper's agent, Scott Boras, can send the message that other teams will have to go higher.</p><p>The offer did not go as high as $400 million, which some in the baseball world thought Harper could earn on the open market.</p><p>The Nationals had exclusive negotiating rights with Harper at the time. Now, Harper can speak to other teams, and the report of a $300 million offer may force teams to go higher.</p><p>Harper and Boras' goal may be to exceed the $325 million contract Giancarlo Stanton signed in 2014.</p><p>Janes wrote that Boras has a history of collecting offers, then going back to the home team to see if they will match it or exceed it. "What I'm saying is I still don't have what I want," he said.</p><p>"What I want is the belt right here with me. So I'm still not satisfied."</p><p>Rosas added: "All I see is gold. I don't really know any names outside of the top 15 [rankings]. An American UFC fighter wants Conor McGregor to work with him to try and antagonize the Nurmagomedov family

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Professional fighter <keyword id="13302282" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="kevin-holland" source="Orion">Kevin Holland</keyword> has beaten up two online trolls this year.</li><li>But becoming internet-famous for that has had an adverse effect.</li></ul><p>LAS VEGAS — American fighter <a href="https://www.insider.com/category/kevin-holland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kevin Holland</a> is known for two things — kicking ass and becoming internet-famous for beating-up online trolls.</p><p>The <a href="https://www.insider.com/category/ufc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UFC</a> welterweight competes Saturday against Alex Oliveira at the ESPN pay-per-view <keyword id="11922275" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="ufc" source="Orion">UFC</keyword> 272, inside the T-Mobile Arena on the Las Vegas Strip.</p><p>Ahead of the big show, Holland told reporters at a media event Insider attended Wednesday that fighting trolls in his gym had an adverse effect as he's now getting even more trolls in his DMs.</p><p>"They start trolling even more!" he said.</p><p>It's a uniquely weird phenomenon, and it seemingly all began earlier this year.</p><p><a href="https://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/33188875/ufc-fighter-kevin-holland-choked-online-troll-grappling-match-more-year-harassment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ESPN reported</a> in January that Holland had been receiving messages for months from Jayden Parker, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner who claimed he could submit the fighter.</p><p>Finally, Holland accepted Parker's challenge. He paid for some travel expenses and invited him into his gym before promptly making him tap to a chokehold.</p><p>"Bottom line, people were saying things they shouldn't be saying," Holland told ESPN.</p><p>"And they pull up to the gym, and they finally get what they deserve. That's just how it goes. Respect is big. Respect the athlete, respect the sport, respect the people that entertain you. Simple as that."</p><p>Weeks later, in mid-February, Holland took out his second internet troll with a barrage of body kicks. "Honestly, I liked this troll way more," he said at the time.</p><p><strong>Watch the beatdown right here (scroll right):</strong></p><p>But even though he dealt with these two particular trolls in public, others kept coming for him.</p><p>Beating up trolls "was the wrong answer on my behalf," Holland conceded this week. "I got my work cut out for me."</p><p>As for his fight this weekend, against a legitimate combatant rather than a cyberbully, Holland called Oliveira "an OG, a legend, and I'm very happy to be fighting him."</p><p>He said: "I knew I had to continue working on the grappling because that's what everybody expects to be my downfall, but I also know he's a good striker.</p><p>"I've been watching him for a while. <ul class="summary-list"><li><keyword id="992778" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="UFC">UFC</keyword> light heavyweight <keyword id="9559753" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="jiri-prochazka">Jiri Prochazka</keyword> just scored a knockout of the year contender.</li><li>All we can say is wow.</li><li>Watch the quality execution of Prochazka's spinning back elbow right here.</li></ul><p><a href="https://www.insider.com/category/ufc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UFC</a> light heavyweight <a href="https://www.insider.com/category/jiri-prochazka" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jiri Prochazka</a> scored a knockout-of-the-year contender with a memorable spinning back elbow Saturday at a behind-closed-doors show in the Apex, Las Vegas.</p><p>The fight-finishing move was so brutal and spectacular that a fellow UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell <a href="https://twitter.com/ThugnastyMMA/status/1388713166696243200" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called Prochazka "the last boss in a video game.</a>"</p><p>Nicknamed "Jirka," the 28-year-old signed a UFC deal in 2020 after a five-year stint at the Japanese <keyword id="6403489" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="mma">MMA</keyword> firm Rizin, and has quickly established himself as a striker with box office appeal.</p><p>Prochazka <a href="https://www.insider.com/watch-jiri-prochazka-viciously-knock-out-volkan-oezdemir-2020-7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clobbered Volkan Oezdemir in the second-round of his UFC debut on Fight Island last year</a> and followed that success with a must-see knockout against Dominick Reyes at UFC Vegas 25.</p><p>"I'm more focused on upgrading my style now," Prochazka said in a statement sent to Insider.</p><p>"I want to share with people the beauty of martial arts. I want them to know what's happening in the fight. I am happy to be a UFC fighter and to show this performance."</p><p>Prochazka was already regarded as the No.5 fighter in the UFC's 205-pound division before blasting past the No.3-ranked Reyes, and will only climb higher after his latest win.</p><p><strong>Watch Prochazka's knockout here:</strong></p><p>The fight's two ferocious rounds were an all-out war as both fighters exchanged heavy leather, throwing a combined 251 strikes when the bout ended at 4 minutes and 29 seconds of round two.</p><p>Together with the quality execution of the knockout, Prochazka earned two performance-related bonuses totaling $100,000 on top of his show and win pay.</p><p>There are only two opponents who interest Prochazka for his next bout.</p><p>The light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz defends his title in September against the No.1 contender Glover Teixeira, and Prochazka is already eyeing the winner.</p><p>"If Jan Blachowicz or Glover Teixeira is my next opponent, it doesn't matter to me," he said.</p><p>"I want the title shot. Let's do it."</p>

Though the match was originally set to occur on April 18 in New York, UFC 249 will now be held in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday, May 9. While there will be no fans present at the fight, UFC 249 will be aired live as a PPV event through the <a href="https://go.web.plus.espn.com/QLBko" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener sponsored">ESPN+ platform</a>. </p><p>The main card originally included a matchup between Khabib Nurmagomedov, arguably the best fighter in the world, and Tony Ferguson, the top Lightweight contender. However, due to travel restrictions, Khabib is now being replaced in the main card by Justin Gaethje, the fourth-ranked Lightweight fighter. While the Nationals eventually suspended Papelbon, he was allowed to go out and pitch shortly after the incident - and he blew the save.</p><p>Last week, <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/trade-for-jonathan-papelbon-had-disastrous-results-for-the-nationals/2015/09/30/0aef1564-66ee-11e5-8325-a42b5a459b1e_story.html?postshare=571443633832745">Washington Post's Barry Svrluga wrote a giant background story</a> on how the Nationals locker room came to turn on Williams.
