Per directives, every IPO bid should be backed by ASBA or Application Supported by Blocked Amount which allows the bank to block funds in the applicant's account for the application's value till the time the shares are allocated. The Securities Committee of the Board of Directors of Embassy Office Parks Management Services Private Limited, Manager to <keyword id="7428315" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Embassy-REIT">Embassy REIT</keyword>, approved the issuance and allotment of over 11.13 crore new units through this institutional placement in a meeting held on Tuesday, the Embassy REIT said in a regulatory filing. Trading of these units is expected to commence on or around December 24, 2020 on NSE and BSE. "The institutional placement launched on December 15, 2020 and witnessed strong demand from both existing as well as <keyword id="10475234" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="new-institutional-investors">new institutional investors</keyword>, including global and domestic investors, pension funds, insurers, and alternative asset managers," it said. Mike Holland, Chief Executive Officer of Embassy REIT said: "The strong demand for our offering amidst market uncertainties and the ongoing pandemic is a testament to the confidence in Embassy REIT's inorganic growth strategy of owning quality office assets such as <keyword id="2223053" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Embassy-TechVillage">Embassy TechVillage</keyword>." ED raids Newsclick office in Delhi for alleged money laundering

"The Board of Directors of the company on February 9, 2021 has approved the proposal of increasing the limit of raising of funds through various options including by way of issuance of debt securities, non-convertible debentures etc, through permissible routes," the company said in a regulatory filing. The fund would be raised in the in the onshore or offshore market and by public issue or on private placement basis. Shares of IRB Infra were trading at ₹111.20, higher by ₹2.15 or 1.97 per cent from its previous close. IRB Infrastructure share price rises 2% as board raises fund-raising limit to ₹5,500 crore

<keyword id="6358777" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="New-Delhi">New Delhi</keyword>, The Centre informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that there was no proposal to raise the excise duty on cigarettes, 'bidis' and smokeless tobacco. In a written reply to a question, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur said that there was no recommendation by the <keyword id="6355040" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="GST-Council">GST Council</keyword> to raise the Goods and Services Tax (<keyword id="6354679" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="gst">GST</keyword>) on these tobacco products. "The GST rates on goods are fixed on the basis of GST Council recommendations. At present, there is no such recommendation. Also, there is no proposal to increase the excise duty on such products," Thakur said. <keyword id="47209" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Finance-Ministry">Finance Ministry</keyword> data showed that the overall GST collection from these products, including cess, during FY 2019-20 was ₹53,540 crore and excise collection ₹1,610 crore. From July 2017, the central excise duty collected on tobacco has been subsumed in the GST. Thakur said in his reply that the taxes collected from tobacco, similar to taxes collected from other sources, together form a part of the overall Gross Tax Revenues (GTR) of the government of India and are used to fund various government schemes and programmes. "In Budget 2020-21, ₹67,111.8 crore has been allocated to fund the requirements of the <keyword id="191419" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-Health-and-Family-Welfare">Ministry of Health and Family Welfare</keyword>. This will be met from both capital and revenue receipts of the government of India," he said. Netflix to premier 'Bombay Begums' on International Women's Day

Responding to a question on vaccine hesitancy, he said at the start of COVID-19 <keyword id="54639" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="vaccination">vaccination</keyword> drive, fewer than planned beneficiaries attended the vaccination sessions due to transient technical issues in CoWIN portal, vaccine hesitancy, among others, which have progressively been addressed. A total of 93.6 lakh healthcare and 77.9 lakh frontline workers had been registered for the vaccination till January 31, the minister said in a written reply. He said 37.58 lakh workers were vaccinated till January 31. "Initially the coverage was low... however, the rate of vaccination coverage has subsequently increased," Choubey said. Asked if the healthcare and frontline workers are not confident of the vaccine available for them, the MoS said, "This is not a fact. More than 50 lakh healthcare and frontline workers have been vaccinated in 21 days in India which is the fastest rate in the world." A communication campaign is being carried out to raise awareness about COVID-19 vaccines and address the misinformation regarding the vaccination process, he said. The communication strategy aims to disseminate factual information about the vaccine and the vaccination process. This is being done through multimedia platforms and through the <keyword id="191419" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ministry-of-Health-and-Family-Welfare">Ministry of Health and Family Welfare</keyword> (MoHFW) website. Over 5 million healthcare, frontline workers given COVID-19 vaccine in 21 days, says Indian government

<keyword id="205313" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kasganj">Kasganj</keyword> (<keyword id="6357713" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Uttar-Pradesh">Uttar Pradesh</keyword>), A police constable was killed and an <keyword id="42808" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sub-inspector">Sub-Inspector</keyword> grievously wounded in assault by aides of a known liquor smuggler, late on Tuesday night. The deceased constable has been identified as Devendra while the SI has been identified as <keyword id="6363061" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ashok-kumar">Ashok Kumar</keyword>. Omkar Dhimar, brother of the accused Moti Dhimar, was killed in an encounter on Wednesday morning. The two policemen had reportedly gone to serve a legal notice for attachment of property to a history-sheeter named Moti over his alleged liquor smuggling activities when they were ambushed by his aides, stripped and assaulted with sticks and other weapons and taken hostage. A search operation was conducted and additional forces were called after the policemen, who had managed to flee from the site of the incident, informed the officials. The two police personnel were found with <keyword id="240509" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="serious-injuries">serious injuries</keyword> in a field in Nagla Dhimar village under Sidhpura police station and were taken to a local hospital. However, Devendra succumbed to his injuries later during treatment. The police team has recovered Ashok Kumar's bike from the spot. Another unknown bike has also been found. The policeman's bike was found fallen on the ground with their uniform and shoes on top. It is believed that the attackers also humiliated the cops by stripping them and then assaulting them. According to ASP Aditya Verma, "A <keyword id="6375366" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="police-officer">police officer</keyword> and constable of Sidhpura police station went to Nagla Dhimar and Nagla Bhikari on information, where they were assaulted. The case is being thoroughly investigated." The <keyword id="5269" type="POSITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Chief-Minister">Chief Minister</keyword>'s Office released a statement later in the night, that said Chief Minister <keyword id="43254" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yogi-Adityanath">Yogi Adityanath</keyword> has called for strict action against those involved in the crime. "Action to be taken against the culprit under <keyword id="43697" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="National-Security-Act">National Security Act</keyword>," it said. The Chief Minister has also directed officials to ensure proper treatment of the injured inspector and announced ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh and government job for a family member of the constable who lost his life. Meanwhile, ADG Ajay Anand has reached Kasganj to stock of the situation. District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh said the Chief Minister is personally monitoring this case. Geneva, <keyword id="43588" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="World-Health-Organization">World Health Organization</keyword> (WHO) experts came together to review the efficacy of the <keyword id="9605255" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="oxford-astrazeneca">Oxford-AstraZeneca</keyword> Covid-19 vaccine, after a study showed that it was less effective against a new variant of the virus discovered in South Africa. At a press briefing here on Monday, WHO Director-General <keyword id="3685849" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tedros-Adhanom-Ghebreyesus">Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus</keyword> said although the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is one of the several that have been shown to be effective in preventing severe disease, hospitalisations and deaths from Covid-19, the emergence of new variants of the virus has raised concerns about their potential impacts on the efficacy of vaccines, says reports. He announced that the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) met to review the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and discuss these new developments. Tedros added that he will meet with the SAGE Chair on Tuesday to discuss its recommendations. Monday's development came a day after, South Africa, where the new variant named B.1.351 was found, announced that the rollout of the <keyword id="6409874" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="astrazeneca">AstraZeneca</keyword> vaccine in the country would be temporarily put on hold until more clinical efficacy information becomes available. Also at the briefing, Kate O'Brien, director of the Department for Immunization, Vaccines, and Biologicals at the WHO, said SAGE had met investigators from the trials being conducted in Britain and Brazil, as well as AstraZeneca and investigators from South African trials. In looking at evidence on the AstraZeneca vaccine across a number of trials, it is very clear that it has efficacy against severe disease, hospitalisations and deaths among different variants, said O'Brien, while admitting that "there are some indications of reduction in the efficacy, some more some less, depending on which variant, which population, and also the neutralizing antibody responses". "But we also have evidence that there is the likelihood that the retention of meaningful impact against severe disease is a very plausible scenario for the product against the B.1.351 variant," she added. O'Brien also noted that "we really have to sort of sail a steady ship, based on the preponderance of evidence and not lurch from one particular report or another report". Meanwhile, GAVI, the global Vaccine Alliance and a major player in the WHO-led COVAX initiative for Covid-19 vaccines, has decided to continue rolling out the AstraZeneca vaccine. According to GAVI CEO Seth Berkley, the AstraZeneca vaccine is efficacious and has been reviewed and approved by a number of stringent regulatory authorities. "Therefore we suspect that we will continue to roll that out, and we'll continue to follow the effects of that vaccine over time," he said.
