Samsung Wallet gets ticket booking services as it partners with Paytm

<ul><li><keyword id="6357120" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="paytm" source="Orion">Paytm</keyword> has planned a major push for the company and its partners.</li><li>It aims to focus on the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.</li></ul>Paytm has announced that the company and its partners will allocate ₹100 crore for marketing activities during the <keyword id="36208" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="festive-season" source="Orion">festive season</keyword>. These campaigns will be aligned to promote digital payments in India and educate users about Paytm UPI for money transfers, <keyword id="3032681" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="paytm-wallet" source="Orion">Paytm Wallet</keyword> and Paytm Postpaid (Buy Now, Pay Later) for spends, to drive financial inclusion across the country. The company has also announced “Paytm Cashback Dhamaka”, a cashback festival starting from October 14, where users can win cashback for money transfers, online, offline payments or recharges done through the app. The idea is to bring exciting offers and drive the adoption of Paytm’s digital payment instruments to more and more users across the country. Avengers Endgame is set to smash Baahubali’s opening day records

 As per recent reports, <keyword id="2473713" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Alibaba-Pictures">Alibaba Pictures</keyword>, the movie and TV content arm of Alibaba group, was in talks for buying a major stake in Orbgen Technologies, the owner of platform TicketNew. 
 
The reason why Alibaba is attracted to India is that even though there is a global slowdown, the number of mobile phone and internet users in India is continuously growing. 
 
The entry of Reliance Jio in the telecom sector is being seen as a good sign by Alibaba, since the low data tariffs offered by Jio would only mean a rise in the number of internet users.

Alibaba might acquire an Indian site for online movie ticket booking

Ever thought you can book your movie tickets at a lower price than the counter? If Paytm has its way, this will soon be a reality. Noida based digital payment and m-commerce firm is coming up with a new addition to its portfolio. It will be selling movie and entertainment tickets on its platform. 
 
This would mean a tough competition for Bookmyshow, which is till now the only leader in the segment. 
 
Paytm founder and chairman Vijay Shekhar Sharma has told The Economic Times that the idea is to create a marketplace for entertainment tickets with deals and offers for customers. "All the cinema chains can become sellers on the platform and can experiment with various pricing options and deals," he said. 
 
A multiplex will have an option to tag along free popcorn or valet parking offer with a movie ticket for a weekday afternoon show or they can also offer discounted tickets for a screening in a theatre at a location where not many people frequent. 
 
"So much is possible in terms of choice and offers for customers when cinemas become sellers themselves instead of a situation currently where they are just sharing their inventory with a third party," Sharma told the financial daily. He has also added that Bookmyshow can also become a seller on the platform. 
 
Slated to be launched later this week, Paytm will be venturing a Rs 3,000-crore annual business. The company is aiming to include PVR's network of 370 screens in 75 multiplexes across 33 cities. Adlabs-owned Imagica and Aquamagica in Mumbai are already on the platform. However, PVR is yet to decide. 
Most multiplexes have their own websites to sell tickets, but they prefer vending them through Bookmyshow, thanks to the latter’s popularity. Paytm may have some limitation in the initial few days, as most cinemas have already collaborated with Bookmyshow.

The company has registered a 200% hike in a number of app downloads and 250% surge in the number of overall transactions and transaction value. The number of Saved Cards also grew by 30%, pointing to a strong set of repeat customers the platform has now acquired. The company has noted 1000% growth in money added to the wallet and 400% growth in the transaction value of offline payments.
