Last week, it was reported that India’s smartphone market is experiencing a robust growth, with shipments increasing by 3% YoY and market value rising 12%. Counterpoint’s Monthly India Smartphone Tracker research said that the growth was due to a shift towards premium smartphones. This flagship is expected to compete head-on with the likes of the OnePlus 11 and the Galaxy S24, both of which are equipped with premium specs. Fans will be able to purchase the iQOO 13 via Amazon India or iQOO’s official store. It will also be available in a limited Legend Edition, with BMW-inspired blue-red color patterns, adding a unique touch to its design. Other configurations include a 12GB/512GB model for CNY 4,499 (₹53,100), a 16GB/256GB variant for CNY 4,299 (₹50,800), a 16GB/512GB option at CNY 4,699 (₹55,500), and the high-end 16GB/1TB model priced at CNY 5,199 (₹61,400). <h2>iQOO 13 expected specs </h2> If the India specs of the phone remain same as the phone launched in China, the iQOO 13 could come packed with impressive specs, including a 6.82-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4500 nits, promising vibrant visuals for everything from gaming to streaming. The phone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, supported by up to 16GB of RAM and a massive 1TB of storage—making it ideal for heavy multitaskers and gamers alike. Notably, iQOO is reportedly delivering serious upgrades with the iQOO 13, incorporating an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for faster and more secure unlocking. This is combined with an expected 6,150mAh battery and 120W fast charging. Coming to camera, the phone is expected to come with a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens. In an interaction with PTI, Mercedes-Benz India MD and CEO Santosh Iyer said the luxury car segment is set for its best-ever performance this year with <keyword id="19894908" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Festive-season" source="keywords">festive season</keyword> offtakes playing a major role in the overall performance. He noted that the festive season generally gives high double-digit <keyword id="20040491" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sales-growth" source="keywords">sales growth</keyword>, helping the automaker to average out single-digit growth of the earlier quarter. "So in that sense, on an average, then we are able to get a double-digit growth during the festive season," Iyer stated. Elaborating on the overall industry, which still remains a very small part of the overall passenger vehicle market in the country, he said the segment is headed for record volumes this fiscal year but not all players are witnessing growth." Some (companies) are even degrowing, some are flat and they are facing headwinds, but because we are the primary player in the market, we still feel the luxury car market should cross 50,000-51,000 cars this year," Iyer said. The luxury car market in India currently remains very small accounting for less than 2 % of the overall passenger vehicle market in the country. Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon said the automaker anticipates positive buying trends to continue during the festive season. "Our best-selling models - the A4, A6, Q3, Q3 Sportback, Q5, Q7, and the newly launched Q8 - continue to drive robust demand," he added. The company is equally optimistic about the e-tron range, the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT, Dhillon said. BMW Group India President Vikram Pawah said the fundamentals of the Indian economy are sturdy and consumer confidence in the luxury segment is on the rise. "For BMW Group India, the order bank is solid and we are trying our best to speed up deliveries for our customers. Along with additional bookings around Diwali and Dussehra, we are confident of closing the year on a high note while clocking impressive growth," he stated. He noted that the group is witnessing very strong demand for products across all segments. Pawah said that in the run-up to the festive season, the company has introduced several special editions of its existing model range. The company is recalling the units manufactured between July 21, 2022 and April 30, 2024 to fix the part, data on the SIAM website said. The company is recalling the units due to "potential issue in integrated charging control unit which may discharge 12V battery", it stated. When contacted, a Hyundai company spokesperson said: "At Hyundai Motor India, customer safety is our top priority. The Ioniq 5 recall is a proactive step to inspect and upgrade the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) in the affected vehicles at no cost to the customers." The company's dedicated teams will be in touch with vehicle owners and guide them through the recall process, the spokesperson said. Price of Ioniq 5 starts at Rs 46.05 lakh (ex-showroom).
