<ul><li><keyword id="80004" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Info-Edge">Info Edge</keyword> has invested ₹10 crore in the B2B e-commerce platform <keyword id="9614073" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="bijnis">Bijnis</keyword>.</li><li>The startup has raised a total of ₹64 crore from Sequoia, Matrix and existing investors Info Edge and WaterBridge Ventures. </li><li>The five-year old startup Bijnis is a B2B marketplace for unorganized markets and allows retailers to purchase directly from the source. </li></ul>Info Edge, one of India’s earliest internet companies, has invested ₹10 crore in the B2B e-commerce platform Bijnis. The startup has <a href="https://entrackr.com/2020/07/exclusive-bijnis-raises-64-cr-in-series-a-round-led-by-sequoia-and-matrix/">raised a total </a>of ₹64 crore from Sequoia, Matrix and existing investors Info Edge and WaterBridge Ventures. The five-year old startup Bijnis is a B2B marketplace for unorganized markets and allows retailers to purchase directly from the source. The startup claims to have over 400 manufacturers and 40,000 sellers on its platform. With the investment, Info Edge, which had first invested in the startup in 2018, will get a 28.2% share in the startup. <div type="image" title="bijnis." msid="77081311" hostid="261"></div> “Bijnis aims to build an all round one app solution for manufacturers from building their distribution to helping them with finance, production automation, etc,” said the regulatory filing by Info Edge. Info Edge, the $5 billion company which runs Naukri.com, Jeevansaathi.com, 99acres.com and Shiksha.com, has backed unicorns like Zomato and Policybazaar. Earlier in June it had announced that the company would raise ₹1,875 crore through Qualified institutional placement i.e. selling new equity shares to big institutions. The company has also recently set up an Alternate Investment Fund to invest in startups with a proposed fund of $100 million. However, the investment in Bijnis is through Info Edge limited. Info Edge becomes the largest shareholder in B2B e-commerce startup Bijnis

This development comes only four months after the ten-month-old company raised $2.25 million in seed round, which witnessed participation from Zomato’s founder <keyword id="476451" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="deepinder-goyal" source="Orion">Deepinder Goyal</keyword>, CRED’s Kunal Shah, Apache Cassandra’s Prashant Malik and EthAum Venture’s Pankaj Gupta. “We are very excited to have Info Edge Ventures double down on their conviction in us in quick succession. We’ll utilise the fresh capital to bolster tech and product development, accelerate expansion in existing markets &amp; enter new markets,” Amit Sharma, chief executive (CEO) and cofounder of GenieMode, added. Founded in March 2021 by Amit Prakash Sharma and Tanuj Gangwani, Geniemode is a B2B cross-border tech platform that enables global buyers to source products from suppliers based in India and other Southeast Asian countries. Geniemode claims to have on boarded 100 small and medium enterprises as well as large suppliers form Indian subcontinent, who are currently getting connected to buyers from the US, UK, Europe and Australia. The company’s chief financial officer (CFO), Gangwani, added that the company is on track to hit $100 million in annualised topline in the next 12 months by offering a wide range of products, higher flexibility on minimum order quantity (MOQs) and better pricing. The company currently allows international buyers to choose from a selection of products in the home, furnishing, fashion and accessories, and other design-led categories. But, there’s one company where you can buy shares⁠— Info Edge, which has become a listed proxy for the spiking valuations in tech startups. Info Edge, one of India’s oldest internet businesses, has multiple startup investments including two unicorns ⁠— food delivery app Zomato and insurance aggregator Policybazaar ⁠— both of which are headed for a debut in the share market. A unicorn is a private firm with more than a billion-dollar valuation. This has resulted in Info Edge’s share price almost doubling in the last one year, and its market cap is close to $10 billion.
