Bhopal, The <keyword id="29459" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="schedule">schedule</keyword> for board <keyword id="6364702" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="examinations">examinations</keyword> to be conducted by the <keyword id="125084" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Board-of-Secondary-Education">Board of Secondary Education</keyword> in <keyword id="6355554" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Madhya-Pradesh">Madhya Pradesh</keyword> has been finally announced. The exams for high school students would start from April 30 while those for higher secondary schools would begin from May 1. The Board of Secondary Education has released the schedule for the examinations to be held in 2021, according to which the examinations for class X would be held from April 30 to May 15 and that of class XII would be conducted from May 1 to May 18. Physical education training journalism examination (two-year course) and <keyword id="6354860" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Diploma">Diploma</keyword> in pre-school education (D.P.S.E.) exam (two-year course) would be held from April 30 to May 11. All these examinations would be conducted between 8 a.m and 11 a.m. Exams of regular, self-studious, blind, deaf, mute and handicapped candidates would be conducted on the same day and time. If any public or local holiday is declared by the government during the examination period, even then the exams would be conducted according to the same schedule. Over 65 lakh students did not pass <keyword id="19951608" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="class-10" source="keywords">class 10</keyword> and 12 <keyword id="19954615" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="board-exams" source="keywords">board exams</keyword> across the country last year with the failure rate being higher in <keyword id="22866974" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="state-boards" source="keywords">state boards</keyword> than the central board, according to Ministry of Education (<keyword id="20349630" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="MoE" source="keywords">MoE</keyword>) officials. An analysis of class 10 and 12 results of 59 school boards, including 56 state boards and three national boards, revealed that more girls appeared in class 12 exam from government-managed schools but it is opposite in private schools and government-aided schools. "Around 33.5 lakh students of class 10 are not reaching next grade. While 5.5 lakh candidates did not appear, 28 lakh failed. This is one of the cause for low retention rate and Gross Enrolment Ration (GER) at higher secondary level," a senior MoE official said. Similarly, around 32.4 lakh class 12 students did not complete the grade. While 5.2 lakh did not appear, 27.2 lakh failed. In class 10, the student failure rate in central board stood at 6 per cent while that of state boards was much higher at 16 per cent. In class 12, the failure rate at central board is 12 per cent while that of state boards is 18 per cent. The ministry officials noted that the open school performance was poor in both the classes. The highest number of student failure in class 10 was in Madhya Pradesh board followed by Bihar and UP. While in class 12, the highest student failure was reported from Uttar Pradesh followed by Madhya Pradesh. "Overall performance of students in 2023 declined in comparison with previous year. This could be due to larger syllabus for examination," the official said. More girls appeared for class 10 and 12 board exams from government schools than boys. "This may reflect gender bias while spending on education by parents. However, girls dominates in pass performance across government, aided and private schools," the official said. The BJP candidate was leading in early trends with 57.74% vote share, received after counting of postal ballots in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal constituency. Madhya Pradesh Board cancels online classes for class IX and XII

Bhopal, Apr 28 () Various companies such as Prism Cement and Yash Technologies have decided to donate advance testing machines to Madhya Pradesh government to fast examine coronavirus samples in the state.COVID-19 testing is a major challenge for the state government, which at present has 2,165 positive cases with 110 deaths so far.As part of CSR initiatives, Prism Cement - a unit of Prism Johnson Lid and Indore-based Yash Technologies will donate two high capacity advanced testing machines.These machines will be installed in Indore and Bhopal for testing corona samples, state Medical Education departments principal secretary Sanjay Shukla told Tuesday.Shukla also informed that these companies were originally planning to donate money to the CM Relief Fund, but later Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan suggested that it would be better if these firms can provide vitalmachines for testing instead of funds, as that will expedite the process of availability of these testing units in the state during such a crucial time.These machines are capable of testing 800-1,000 tests per day and have already arrived in Bhopal and Indore, Shukla said.Besides, Vardhman Group, Dalmia Cements and Welspun have also decided to donate such machines to the state for augmenting its testing facilities, which will play a major role in fighting corona virus scare, he said.In order to augment the testing facilities for COVID-19 in Madhya Pradesh, Prism Cement Division of Prism Johnson Limited, as a responsible corporate citizen decided to contribute in this social cause by handing over to the state government a high speed Corona Virus Testing Machine underCSR, Prism Johnson Limiteds general manager, Neelmani Singh said.Made in Singapore RT PCR system QuantStudio 7 Flex system with Ancillaries is one of the most advanced machines available presently and can accurately conduct about 1,000 tests per day.The cost of the machine is Rs 65 lakh. This will help the state government to quickly and accurately test patients and help in halting the spread of the contagious virus.Singh also informed that the machine has already been delivered to the government and it will be installed at Gandhi Medical College (GMC) for testing corona samples.The state will now be able to reduce the pendency of samples and would be able to start treatment of the affected persons at the earliest to check the spread of corona virus, he added.
