He told Insider that the value of MBAs has fallen over the past few decades but they still allowed students to form valuable professional networks.But this is usually only the case at highly ranked colleges, he said. "The real thing that the MBA schools come down to is, hey, can I give relationships that are meaningful and for a lifetime?" Bhatti said. "I tell everyone I talk to, if you're going to go do an MBA, go to a top 10 or 15 school, because that's where you really get the ROI for your dollar in terms of the time invested, the debt that you take on," Bhatti said. Wharton is the <keyword id="83492" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="University-of-pennsylvania">University of Pennsylvania</keyword>'s business school, which the <a href="https://rankings.ft.com/rankings/2837/sample-name%7D">Financial Times ranked</a> number two in the world last year for its MBA program, just behind <keyword id="53675" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="harvard">Harvard</keyword>.A two-year full-time <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/most-successful-wharton-business-school-graduates-2014-10">MBA at Wharton</a> costs $227,428, including living expenses, according to <a href="https://mba-inside.wharton.upenn.edu/tuition-fees/">its website</a>. And a two-year MBA at <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/harvard-business-school-online-courses-change-careers-without-mba">Harvard Business School</a> costs around $223,000, it said on <a href="https://www.hbs.edu/mba/financial-aid/tuition-assistance/Pages/cost-of-attendance.aspx">its finance webpage</a>. "You've got the Harvards and Whartons of the world that have 800 school students in each class that will give you a lot of access globally," Bhatti said. He added that alumni of <keyword id="33081" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Stanford">Stanford</keyword>'s Graduate School of Business have an "extremely powerful" network in Silicon Valley. The average salary for a Wharton MBA graduate in 2021 is $150,000, according to <a href="https://www.topmba.com/college/wharton-school/mba/full-time-mba">QS Quacquarelli Symonds</a>, a higher education analytics firm. Harvard Business School said <a href="https://www.hbs.edu/recruiting/employment-data/Pages/default.aspx">on its website</a> that the median base salary for its graduates is $150,000, with a $30,000 median signing bonus. The <keyword id="19897865" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="telangana-government" source="keywords">Telangana Government</keyword> on Tuesday requested the 16th <keyword id="20015455" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="finance-commission" source="keywords">Finance Commission</keyword> to increase the share of states in <keyword id="386992" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="central-taxes" source="Orion">Central taxes</keyword> from the existing 41 per cent to 50 per cent as over the years cesses and surcharges that are not shared with states have increased. Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of Finance <keyword id="21396591" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bhatti" source="keywords">Bhatti</keyword> Vikramarka in his speech at the meeting with Finance <keyword id="19933395" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="commission" source="keywords">Commission</keyword> Chairman <keyword id="20016026" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="arvind-panagariya" source="keywords">Arvind Panagariya</keyword> and members also urged the finance panel to ensure that states are given the necessary autonomy to tailor <keyword id="20109166" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="css" source="keywords">CSS</keyword> (centrally-sponsored scheme) programmes to their specific development needs. "In addition, we propose increasing the share of states in Central taxes from 41 per cent to 50 per cent. Over the years, cesses and surcharges that are not shared with states have increased, leaving states with a smaller share of total gross tax revenue," he said. Increasing the vertical devolution will give states the fiscal space they need to strengthen welfare programmes, address infrastructure gaps and prioritise local development, he further said. He, however, said it is not just a demand for <keyword id="19909031" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="telangana" source="keywords">Telangana</keyword> but for all states, ensuring a more cooperative federal structure that will benefit the nation as a whole. Bhatti further said the state government urges the Finance Commission to reconsider the use of per capita income distance as the primary indicator in determining horizontal devolution as measuring prosperity and well-being solely by per capita income would deny Telangana the resources needed to address the inequities that exist within the state. The state government is suggesting that the formula for horizontal devolution be modified to add at least a 50 per cent weightage to <keyword id="20149362" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gsdp" source="keywords">GSDP</keyword> (gross state domestic production) contribution. "A greater weight on GSDP would incentivise states to adopt reforms that improve productivity, attract investment and create jobs, ultimately contributing to the national economy. This approach would not only make states more competitive but also help reduce regional disparities, encouraging more balanced growth across the country," he opined. Pointing out that certain expenditures for schemes such as Rythu Bharosa, farm loan waivers and food subsidies are often mislabelled as "freebies," he urged the Commission to recognise these programmes as necessary investments in the welfare of our people. He mentioned that a large part of the state's resources is now being diverted toward debt servicing and hence requested the Finance Commission's support in either restructuring this debt or providing additional assistance to help free up resources for further development. The 16th Finance Commission, led by its chairman Arvind Panagariya, held meetings with several political parties, representatives of local bodies and industry chambers here on Monday as part of its visit to Telangana.

Sean Abbott, the young cricketer who bowled the unfortunate bouncer is being closely monitored and is being given counselling and psychology support, for the peace of his mind. 1. <keyword id="556" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Raman-lamba">Raman Lamba</keyword> The first name that comes to our mind is of Raman Lamba. He suffered a head injury while fielding a ball hit by Bangladeshi batsman Mehrab Hossain. The ball hit him directly over his temple, and he slipped into coma due to internal hemorrhage. Three days after he was hit, he died. He was 38 at that time, and was critical for 3 days before passing away. 
 
2. <keyword id="106663" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Abdul-Aziz">Abdul Aziz</keyword> The Pakistani cricketer was struck on his chest when he was attempting to hit a ball. He collapsed on the field and died on his way to the hospital. He was just 17 at that time. 
 
3. <keyword id="1918114" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Darryn-Randall">Darryn Randall</keyword> A South African first-class cricketer, he died in 2013 after being hit on the head by a ball during a match. Randall, a right-handed batsman, was 33 at the time of his death. 
 
4. <keyword id="2615221" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ian-Folley">Ian Folley</keyword> Born in England, Folley died after being hit underneath the eye, following which he had a heart attack and could not recover. He was 32 and was playing for Whitehaven at that time. 
 
5. <keyword id="1982956" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Zulfiqar-Bhatti">Zulfiqar Bhatti</keyword> This promising Pakistani cricketer died after he was hit on the chest by a ball, which caused his death on the pitch itself. Bhatti, 22, was representing Super Star Cricket Club in a match against Sindh Young Cricket Club, both local teams of Pakistan. 
 
6. <keyword id="2613130" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="George-Summers">George Summers</keyword> An English cricketer, his is the earliest case of an on-field injury resulting in death. He died in 1870 after being hit by a short delivery from bowler John Platts and was carried off the field; he, however, was not taken to the hospital because he seemed to recover. This, although, proved to be wrong. He died four days later because of the injury, and was 25 at that time.

"I thought I should do something different to attract more clients," Abbas told AFP."Every day, I try to come up with new ways to cut hair. Hyderabad, Mar 12 () Telangana Chief MinisterK Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday took exception to some BJPleaders allegedly making claims about central funds releasedto the state and hit out at the Congress and saffron partyfor improper devolution during their rule.The central devolution is actually the share of statesin certain taxes collected by the Centre and it is notsomething to be begged for and should be given whichevergovernment is in power, he said in the Assembly.Rao, who responded to BJP member Raja Singh's commentsover Central funds to the state, said both the Congress andBJP have turned out to be "utter flop" in running the country."BJP people, from a small leader to the country's Homeminister, whenever they come to the state or sitting in Delhi,or unfortunately, in Parliament (they say), we have given (somuch funds to the state).Who are you to give? We have said many times. On oneoccasion, I had to demand apology from Home Minister. I hadsaid I will resign if figures given by me are wrong," he said.The Congress government, when P Chidambaram wasFinance minister, did not provide Central Sales Tax funds tostates which made Telangana insist on including the GSTcompensation to be given to states in the law concerned, Raosaid. Even that is not being given properly by the Centre,he alleged. The central devolution, which is deposited in thestate's account by the RBI without fail, is not being receivedproperly, he said. Approximately Rs 3,900 crore, a commitment made tothe state, has not been released by the Centre which, instead,told the state that it would be given permission to secure aloan of about Rs 1,400 crore, the chief minister said. The Centre, as per the Constitution, has to give theshare of states in the taxes collected by it and there is nokindness on the part of the former (Centre), he pointed out. Talking about other types of funds provided by theCentre, he said the Centre also releases funds to the statesas its share and such amount given by the Centre has nottouched even Rs 10,000 crore any year during the last fiveyears (in Telangana), he claimed.The Congress had earlier tried to trumpet such fundsand the present NDA government is trying to do it on a largerscale, he said.Telangana is one of the five to six states which takecare of themselves and also contribute to the nation buildingprocess, he said."Telangana is one state which is building itself andwhich is participating very actively in the nation buildingprocess by way of contributing huge taxes from the state ofTelangana. More recently, though, the numbers of people graduating with MBAs have been on a sharp rise. The number of MBAs given out in 2012 was <a href="http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2013/01/there-are-officially-too-many-mbas/266880/">74% more </a>than in 2001, and they now make up almost 20% of all master’s degrees awarded.
This makes it much harder to find the real gems among the graduating crop. How can you differentiate between graduates that are not necessarily equally skilled?
Many MBA programs require, or strongly encourage, students to have prior business experience, such as the <a href="http://www.wharton.upenn.edu/mba/admissions/faqs.cfm">Wharton MBA program</a> at the University of Pennsylvania; others are less strict. A candidate’s prior business experience might be a better guide of what they can do for you than his or her scores on a degree, but as with the regular hiring process, experience has been proven (much like resumes and interviews) to be rather ineffective in gauging job performance.
So how can you tell who you should hire? Here are some tips for what to look out for when reviewing new MBA graduates:
Expectations and Attitude
While many MBA graduates will have reasonable expectations for salary and responsibilities in line with their experience, some may have the wrong kind of attitude for your company.
Business professor, Dipak Jain, <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703946504575469840650190572.html">has suggested </a>that many employers are “complain[ing] about 30-year-old newly minted M.B.A.s demanding outrageous salaries and expecting to run the company from day one” .
Ensure that you understand the candidate’s expectations during the interview process. Do his or her future goals and expectations match your company’s promotion and salary structures?
One way to ensure you are finding candidates who will be the ‘right fit’ is to use psychometric screening assessments, prior to reviewing resumes. Many companies are seeking skills such as creativity, fundraising, marketing, entrepreneurship, and endless flexibility to respond to an ever-changing world, which can be determined through testing. Establishing a benchmark across all of your candidates will allow you to shortlist and select only those who are right for both your company culture and job performance needs.
Networking Experience
Traditionally, an MBA was one of the best ways to network. The program got you access to the top professors at business schools and gave graduates ‘a key to the club’ to network with other professionals.
Networking is no longer the same. Today, a lot of networking is done through online channels, and it’s <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20130422185424-2967511-skip-the-mba-3-reasons-why-you-should-get-real-world-experience-instead">increasingly crucial </a>to have networks across a range of sectors, in order to spot new opportunities and possibilities for interconnection
MBAs may have the skills to deal with this new world of networking, but don’t assume that they will automatically be able to cope with it just because they’re an MBA. Reviewing profiles, such as LinkedIn and Twitter, to determine how well connected applicants are, is a good way to determine networking hustle.
Relevant Skill Sets
Depending on what your business is and how it is run, the skills taught in MBA courses might be more or less relevant to you.
Jay Bhatti, an investor and advisor to startups, <a href="http://qz.com/42233/if-you-cant-get-into-a-top-five-mba-program-dont-even-bother/">argues that MBAs </a>were originally designed to make graduates into good employees of large corporations, and that different skills are needed today to train people to work for startups and smaller companies.
If you need the ‘less traditional’ business skills in your team, it might be worth checking the syllabus of your MBA graduates, and seeing if their courses actually addressed these issues.
Leadership Ability
The most desired quality that hiring managers were looking for in 2012 was leadership; <a href="http://www.gmac.com/~/media/Files/gmac/Research/Employment%20Outlook/2012-crs-report-final-participants.pdf#page=26">51% of hiring managers</a> said this was a key quality.
MBA programs may teach graduates core business skills, but will not necessarily take them to the next level of developing their leadership skills. Even if you’re not putting them in a leadership role immediately, a graduate with those skills will be of more benefit to your company than one without.

From his end, the comic is raising funds through 'Vir Das At Home' where he performs for an audience online."We are going to need to smile now more than ever and for a while. If you're a funny person, this is the time to do your job. The best you've ever done it... I'm trying to focus on fundraising. I'm doing a show every night on Zoom call where the proceeds are going to different charities. "This lockdown won't affect the privileged as much. We have got to do our part. So my main focus during the lockdown is to try and raise money," Das told .Before the pandemic brought everything to a standstill, Das had planned a world tour of 29 countries, which naturally got pushed.There has been a lot of conversation about how the way people consume entertainment stands to change post coronavirus. As a comic, who is used to performing in front of a large gathering, Das feels the impact will be there for sometime, but eventually, the urge to laugh will gather people together."Those are the things that come and go. From court jesters, impressionists, Jaspal Bhatti, Johnny Lever to us and the people who come after us, the urge to sit in a room and laugh with each other together, will always find a way back. That I'm not so worried about."The actor is currently gearing up for the release of the Netflix series, "Hasmukh", co-created by Das and filmmaker Nikkhil Advani.The series features Das in the titular role of a young man from Saharanpur, who has to kill people off stage to perform better on stage. The actor had written a pilot, nearly three years ago, and taken it to the "Kal Ho Naa Ho" director who felt it was funny but needed "more darkness and gravity."Together, they worked on it for six-seven months, got it green-lit and then ran a writers room. "Comedy isn't so much about telling jokes, it's about being yourself and telling jokes. 'Hasmukh' is this awkward, shy, man who has a lot of anger inside him. Which is who I was when I got into comedy, except I don't murder people. "But the first time I got a laugh was when I went on stage and yelled at a bunch of people. I was 22, life wasn't going well, I couldn't make rent, girls weren't talking to me and I yelled out all of that stuff."The series, directed by Nikhil Gonsalves, also features Ranvir Shorey, Manoj Pahwa, Ravi Kishan, Amrita Bagchi, Suhail Nayyar, Inaamulhaq and Raza Murad.With "Hasmukh", the 40-year-old "Go Goa Gone" actor got a chance to create a lot of the characters and deep dive in the "outrageous" universe of the show."I got to write them as really loud characters. Nikkhil really led me on 'Hasmukh.' We decided that I would be the in-charge of who Hasmukh is on stage and Nikkhil gets to shape who he is off stage. "He's a passive, underconfident character surrounded by these loud maniacs. That's what makes him frustrated and pop when he murders. He's only ever free when he murders or is on stage." Writing the show was a challenge on multiple levels for Das as Hasmukh is "diametrically opposite" to the comic. "He's a small town boy, a Hindi comedian. Also, to write for an artiste who doesn't know his voice yet. He's a terrible comedian, he's clueless. It's a very outrageous universe for a show."When I first came to Mumbai, I was a writer on various GEC (General Entertainment Channels) comedy and award shows. So a lot of it is also based on what I saw- the big, glamorous GEC world of those.
