In April this year, Grover had threatened legal action against CEO Sameer and the board for his comments on professional networking platform LinkedIn against his sister Ashima Grover, along with seeking a resignation from Chairman Rajnish Kumar. Grover last week attacked the fintech platform's co-founder Shashvat Nakrani, saying he once asked him to bunk office for a whole year in order to complete his IIT degree while remaining on the payroll. He also alleged that his book "Doglapan" created panic among BharatPe executives and this is the reason the fintech company had apparently filed cases against him. BharatPe CEO enjoying life with money I raised but fails to grow company, says Ashneer Grover

Ashneer Grover, who was sacked along with his wife Madhuri Jain Grover by fintech platform BharatPe over alleged financial irregularities, has slammed the Reserve Bank of India (<keyword id="30067" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="rbi" source="Orion">RBI</keyword>) over its latest directive to non-bank prepaid payment instruments to stop loading credit lines onto their products. In a tweet, Grover said that "not allowing loading of pre-paid instruments through credit is aimed at protecting bank's lazy credit card business from Fintech's potent BNPL (buy now pay later) business". "It's a flex move by banks -- rent seeking. But market is market and regulation will eventually come around to what market needs," he added. The RBI, in its latest one-page circular, has disallowed non-bank PPIs from loading credit, and several such startups and firms have already stopped customers' transactions on their prepaid cards to avoid penalty. The banking PPIs include HDFC Flexipay, ICICI PayLater, HDFC Payzapp, SBI YONO and others, along with several UPI-driven platforms like Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay and Amazon Pay, etc. "The PPI-MD (PPI-master direction) does not permit loading of PPIs from credit lines. Such practice, if followed, should be stopped immediately. Any non-compliance in this regard may attract penal action under provisions contained in the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007," according to the RBI directive. Grover is reportedly in talks with US-based private equity companies to raise up to $300 million for a new startup. "Today I turn 40. Ashneer Grover slams RBI over recent mandate

Merchant payment and lending service provider <keyword id="7349800" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="bharatpe">BharatPe</keyword> on Thursday said it has acquired <keyword id="1917213" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="PAYBACK-India">Payback India</keyword> from <keyword id="91294" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="American-Express">American Express</keyword> and ICICI Investments Strategic Fund. The company, however, did not disclose the financial details of the transaction. This is the first-ever acquisition by BharatPe and will make Payback <keyword id="3658" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword> a wholly-owned subsidiary of BharatPe, a statement said. Payback India - launched in 2010 - is a multi-brand loyalty programme with over 100 million members in the country. It has a network of more than 100 offline and online partners and allows its customers to earn and redeem points on every transaction at its partner merchant outlets. The acquisition of Payback India is in line with BharatPe's strategy to build a robust and engaged network of over 20 million small merchants by 2023, the statement said. With Payback India, BharatPe will be able to enhance its value proposition for the merchant partners, it added. Additionally, it will enable BharatPe to build a lucrative set of offerings for end customers, that will enhance footfalls at merchants and accelerate the growth of their businesses. As a result of the acquisition, all Payback India employees will become part of the BharatPe group. Suhail Sameer and Gautam <keyword id="2220" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kaushik">Kaushik</keyword> (Group Presidents at BharatPe) along with Sumeet Singh, General Counsel of BharatPe, have joined the Board of Payback India. The role of the senior leadership team at Payback India will be expanded to also work on the loyalty programme for the six-million plus merchants of BharatPe, it added. The team, led by Pramod Mahanta (MD Payback India) and Rijish Raghavan (Chief Executive Officer at Payback India), will be working closely with Gautam Kaushik to build a new version of Payback India. Notably, Kaushik was the CEO and MD of Payback India prior to joining BharatPe in February this year. The company (Payback India) will continue operating under its current name and there will be no impact on the existing customer and partner relationships with Payback India that will continue to roll out initiatives for customers across India, the statement noted. "With the acquisition of Payback India, we will be able to add a whole new dimension to our merchant value proposition. In addition to the range of payment and credit products which BharatPe offers to help merchants scale their business, we will also be able to drive more consumers to their stores," BharatPe co-founder and CEO Ashneer Grover said. He added that the company is committed to build India's largest and most engaged merchant network and this acquisition will be a "game-changer" in that regard. It processes over 10 crore UPI transactions per month (annualised Transaction Processed Value of more than USD 10 billion) and facilitated disbursement of loans totaling to over Rs 1,600 crores to its merchants since launch. BharatPe acquires Payback India from American Express and ICICI Investments Strategic Fund

<ul><li>Earnings season will begin next week with the results of major IT companies -- TCS on April 11 and Infosys on April 13.</li><li>Digital transformation deals continue to boost IT sector’s growth along with rupee depreciation in the recent months benefiting the sector.</li><li>However, profit margins of these companies are expected to be under pressure because of increase in employee salaries and record hiring.</li></ul>The March quarter earnings season will begin next week with the results of major information technology (IT) companies such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on April 11 and Infosys on April 13. Most analysts believe March is a seasonally weak quarter for IT companies and they expect moderate earnings growth amid margin pressures. The profit margins of IT companies are expected to be under pressure because of increase in employee salaries and record hiring. “Sequential growth for Indian IT will be moderate in March 2022 quarter and in line with historical seasonal trends. Margins will remain under pressure resulting from elevated wage increases, onsite as well as offshore,” said Kotak Institutional Equities. The entire IT sector is struggling to retain employees including top five companies. Higher employee cost and shortage of skilled talent will remain the key challenges in the short term for IT companies. Profit margins of IT companies must be under pressure for January-March quarter due to record hiring and salary hikes

<ul><li>As much as 70% of the employees at the IT major <keyword id="10863" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="CapGemini">Capgemini</keyword> are getting a higher single-digit pay hike this year. </li><li>Its 84,000 employees will have increased pay, starting April 1. </li><li>The IT company rolled out over 4,000 job offers to lateral hires and to 2,000 freshers — and will absorb them all. </li><li>On similar lines, digital payments startup <keyword id="7349800" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="bharatpe">BharatPe</keyword> gave its employees a 20% <keyword id="6355281" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Salary-hike">salary hike</keyword> while Cognizant announced 25% more pay on the base salary for the month of April.</li></ul>A large number of Indian companies are reeling under the Corona-induced lockdown, and hence choosing to either retrench or cut salaries. However, there are a few delightful exceptions who are offering hikes, even during difficult times. IT major Capgemini is giving 70% of its employees a higher single-digit pay hike this year. That helps 84,000 employees who will enjoy increased pay, starting April 1. The remaining staff will get appraisals in July, TOI <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/capgemini-india-increases-salaries-grants-allowances/articleshow/75149348.cms">reports</a>. It is also one of the select few companies that is <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/careers/news/tcs-cognizant-capgemini-and-other-top-giants-who-are-not-letting-go-of-their-new-hires/articleshow/75136446.cms">absorbing all the new campus hires</a> it had extended offers to. It gave 4,000 job offers to lateral hires, and to 2,000 freshers in the quarter ending March. “This is a black swan event and at this point it’s not a question of timeline, but how our business will evolve. And we have a clear view as to what our economic model is going to look like and we don’t see any reason to discontinue this approach,” Ashwin Yardi, CEO at Capgemini India <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/capgemini-india-increases-salaries-grants-allowances/articleshow/75149348.cms">told</a> TOI. The French IT multinational, with a heavy presence in India, is also giving away cash allowances worth ₹10,000 to employees who are not left with any means to relocate and are stranded without accommodation. In fact, the ‘shift allowance’ will now be extended to its ‘work from home’ employees as they practice social distancing. The company said that it will focus on retaining employees — even those on bench, who are not working on billable projects. Usually the grace period for those on bench is up to 60 days and IT majors generally have 8% of employees on the bench. Cognizant and BharatPe also hike salaries amid lockdown Digital payments startup BharatPe also decided to give its employees a hike. “I closed the appraisals two days ago and I have given a 20% hike to my employees.
