It sees an upside of 15 per cent over the next 12 months horizon. At the time of this report was filed, the shares of the company traded at Rs 699. A leading player in the forging industry, Bharat Forge is serving in several sectors including automobile, power, oil and gas, rail and marine, aerospace and defence, construction, and mining. The company's revenue during Q4FY22 grew by 49.2 per cent quarter on quarter on the back of sharp recovery in domestic and export markets and pass through of steel price inflation, the financial services company said in a report. However, on a consolidated basis, the margin contracted by 490 basis points due to lower utilisation owing to supply chain and increase in raw material costs. The demand for the automobile segment remains robust for both domestic and export markets. "Amid crisis, the demand visibility looks robust in the medium to long term. On a consolidated basis, the valuation seems attractive compared to its historical average," the report added. Financial services company Geojit gives 'buy' call for Bharat Forge with a target price of ₹785 per share

New Delhi, Feb 10 () Shares of auto components major Bharat Forge on Monday fell nearly 4 per cent after the firm reported a 81.37 per cent decline in consolidated net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2019. Bharat Forge's scrip went lower 3.59 per cent to close at Rs 499.55 on the BSE. During the day, it dropped 6.69 per cent to Rs 483.45. On the NSE, it dipped 3.65 per cent to close at Rs 499.05. Bharat Forge on Monday reported a 81.37 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 40.44 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2019. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 216.96 crore in the same period last fiscal, Bharat Forge said in a regulatory filing. New Delhi, Feb 10 () Auto components maker Bharat Forge on Monday posted a 81.3 per cent decline in consolidated profit at Rs 40.4 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2019. The company had posted consolidated profit of Rs 216.9 crore in the year-ago period, Bharat Forge said in a filing to BSE. The consolidated income of the company during October-December quarter dropped to Rs 1,868 crore, from Rs 2,516.6 crore in the year-ago period, the filing said. Shares of Bharat Forge were trading at Rs 500.80 on the BSE in afternoon trade, down 3.35 per cent from its previous close. SID DRR

Bharat Forge Oct-Dec net plummets 81 pc to Rs 40 cr

Baba Kalyani, chairman of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=bharat+forge">Bharat Forge</a>, and his family have been dragged to court by the young niece, Sheetal Kalyani, demanding her share in ancestral wealth. 
 
Sheetal, 27, has claimed one-ninth of the family estate and demanded her share of stakes in listed companies. 
 
The case is slated for second hearing on November 05. 
 
Four grandchildren of the Kalyani family's patriarch Vijaypat Singhania had approached the Bombay High Court seeking ancestral rights to properties. 
 
Reportedly, Ananya, Rassalika, Tarini and Raivat Hari, the children of Vijaypat Singhania's estranged son Madhupati, accused Baba Kalyani of ignoring them during the partition of family assets. 
 
Experts point out that younger generation of affluent families demand their share as they are well aware of the outside world. They say that to avoid such circumstances, business families should structure their wealth in advance to maintain peace.

The company had posted a profit of Rs 127.74 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, <keyword id="19946643" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bharat-Forge" source="keywords">Bharat Forge</keyword> said in a regulatory filing. Consolidated revenue from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 4,164.21 crore as against Rs 3,629.05 crore in the year-ago period, it added. Total expenses in the fourth quarter were higher at Rs 3,843.55 crore as compared to Rs 3,469.05 crore in the same period a year ago. The Board of Directors at its meeting held on May 8, 2024, recommended a final dividend of Rs 6.50 per equity share of the face value of Rs 2 for the financial year ended March 31, 2024, subject to approval of shareholders at the ensuing annual general meeting, Bharat Forge said. For the fiscal ended March 31, net profit was at Rs 910.16 crore as compared to Rs 508.39 crore in the previous fiscal, it added. Consolidated revenue from operations in FY24 was at Rs 15,682.07 crore as against Rs 12,910.26 crore in FY23, the filing said. The Rajkot-based company is a manufacturer and global supplier of forged and machined components for automobile makers. The offer from the company consisted of a fresh issue of ₹56 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) by private equity firm Rivendell PE of up to 75 lakh equity shares. The company will use the IPO proceeds to fund its long-term working capital requirements and for general corporate purposes. Autotecnica Colombiana SAS will operate 50 dealerships exclusive for the company and create dedicated space for the brand in over 600 retail outlets, it added. The share price of TVS Motor closed a percent lower on Thursday. Vedanta Vedanta Resources has approached the market regulator SEBI for necessary approvals to start the reverse book building process. The company, earlier in May, announced its plans to delist Vedanta from the Indian stock exchanges by buying out non-promoter shareholding. The share price of Vedanta closed a percent higher on Thursday. IRCTC IRCTC, the company that operates Indian Railways, is planning to levy ‘affordable’ user charges in 700-1,050 stations across the country. It will help build more revenue while providing better facilities and redevelop stations for passengers. The share price of IRCTC closed a percent higher on Thursday. Hindalco and Hindustan Copper Hindalco said that it has entered into a pact with Hindustan Copper for the long-term purchase and sale of copper concentrate produced by the PSU. Under this MoU, around 60% copper content of Hindustan Copper's current concentrate production will be utilised by Hindalco in the manufacture of refined copper. Sterling and Wilson Solar Sterling and Wilson Solar said that the company had won a 106.71 MW solar project in Chile, it's fifth in Latin America, worth $62.6 million (about ₹462 crore). "Sterling and Wilson Solar has signed an order of 106.71 MW worth USD 62.6 million in Chile. The order has been received from a global independent power producer (IPP), work for which is expected to begin in Q4 FY 2021," the company said in a statement. HDFC Bank A US-based law firm has filed a class-action suit against HDFC Bank, claiming damages for the losses incurred by investors because of "materially false and misleading" representations made by the bank. NMDC The state-owned NMDC reported over 54% fall in its net profit to ₹531.35 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, mainly on account of lower income due to COVID-19. The shares of NMDC ended nearly 1% higher on Thursday. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) The offer for sale (OFS) of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) was oversubscribed 1.6 times by non-retail investors. The government has decided to exercise the “green shoe” option. The “green shoe” refers to the option of over-allotment of shares. The shares of HAL ended nearly 14% lower on Thursday. Defence stocks in focus Other defence stocks like Bharat Forge, BHEL and Bharat Electronics will also be in focus today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on the need for Atma Nirbhar Bharat in the defence sector. Some of the highlights from commentary include - opening up the foreign direct investment till 74% through automatic route, and expanding the list for defence imports. IDFC Bank IDFC Bank reported a consolidated net loss of ₹26.46 crore for the quarter ended June 30. The consolidated total income fell to ₹103.99 crore during the period, as against ₹133.04 crore in the same quarter last year. The shares of IDFC ended nearly 2% lower on Thursday. Allcargo Logistics The board of directors of Allcargo Logistics considered voluntary delisting of shares proposal in a meeting yesterday. The company has appointed Inga Ventures as a merchant banker. The company in a stock-exchange filing said the board would meet again to discuss the delisting proposal in detail, after receipt of the due diligence report from the Merchant Banker. The shares of Allcargo Logistics ended nearly 4% lower on Thursday. GMR Infra GMR Infrastructure has decided to restructure its business. In a 'scheme of arrangement' involving vertical split demerger of the non-airport business — these include energy, urban infrastructure and EPC services - will be split into GPUIL. The airport business will be listed separately. The shares of GMR Infra ended 0.19% higher on Thursday.

Defence Manufacturing, Exports and its future: 
 
Indian exports are negligible when it comes to the total market share on a global level. India has exported defence equipment to 22 countries over last one year, including UK, US, Israel and Russia. India exported forging equipment, electronic assemblies, flight panel controls to the US. 
 
India exported transmitting tubes to UK and MIG &amp; Sukhoi 30 aircraft spares and services to Russia. India’s major exports included Cheetal helicopters to Afghanistan, Dhruv helicopters and bulletproof jackets to Nepal, Sukhoi avionics and MIG spares to Malaysia, offshore petrol vessels and ammunition to Mauritius and Jaguar aircrafts and spares to Oman. 
 
Indian private players are looking for foreign partners as the foreign direct investment in defence sector is pushed up to 49%. Reliance defence had signed a manufacturing and maintenance deal potentially worth $6 billion with Russia's Almaz-Antey, the maker of an air defence system. Apart from the Akash air defence system, the government had cleared the purchase of five S-400 air defence systems that are estimated to cost about $4.5 billion. 
 
Similarly kalyani group tied up with Rafael of Israel to make Spike Anti-tank missiles for the Indian military. 
 
Indian private players are still far away from accessing the key sensitive technologies related to fighter aircrafts and nuclear submarines however they are approaching fast by the virtue of transfer of technology and domestic manufacturing set-up under the make in India program. What must is to invest heavily in R&amp;D facilities along with the collaboration of key government institutions like DRDO with the private partners. Incoming demands for defence equipment is heavy and it should only be fulfilled by boosting the manufacturing process along with minimum government interference and a feasible policy framework.

Defence Manufacturing: Is India Inc. ready?

<ul><li>Delhi Police has filed an FIR against former <keyword id="7349800" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="bharatpe" source="Orion">BharatPe</keyword> co-founder Ashneer <keyword id="3433" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="grover" source="Orion">Grover</keyword>, his wife <keyword id="10739150" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="madhuri-jain" source="Orion">Madhuri Jain</keyword> Grover.</li><li>The FIR, a copy of which has been seen by PTI, was filed under eight sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 406 that deals with criminal breach of trust, 420 (cheating and dishonesty), 467 and 468 (forgery).</li></ul>New Delhi, The Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police has filed an FIR against former BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover, his wife Madhuri Jain Grover and family members Deepak Gupta, <keyword id="346867" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="suresh-jain" source="Orion">Suresh Jain</keyword> and Shwetank Jain for an alleged Rs 81 crore fraud after a complaint by the fintech unicorn. The FIR, a copy of which has been seen by PTI, was filed under eight sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 406 that deals with criminal breach of trust, 420 (cheating and dishonesty), 467 and 468 (forgery). BharatPe in the complaint alleged that Grover and his family caused damages of about Rs 81.3 crore through illegitimate payments to bogus human resource consultants, inflated and undue payments through passthrough vendors connected to the accused, sham transactions in input tax credit and payment of penalty to GST authorities, illegal payment to travel agencies, forged invoices by Madhuri Jain and destruction of evidence. If convicted, Grover, Madhuri and others can face up to anything between 10 years to life imprisonment. EOW now has the power to arrest all the accused. BharatPe welcomed the registration of FIR saying, "For the last 15 months, the company has been facing a vicious and malicious campaign run by Grover against the company, the board and its employees". "The registration of the FIR is a step in the right direction, which unearths various suspicious transactions made by the family for their personal pecuniary gains," it said in a statement. The FIR, it said, will now enable law enforcement agencies to investigate deeper into the criminality and bring the culprits to books. "We have full faith in our country's judicial and law enforcement systems and are optimistic that this case will reach its logical conclusion. We will continue to extend all possible cooperation to the authorities," it added. In December 2022, BharatPe filed a criminal complaint against Grover and his family with the EOW of Delhi Police, alleging fraud of Rs 81.28 crore, criminal breach of trust, conspiracy, cheating, forgery and destruction of evidence. The same month, it also filed a civil suit with the Delhi High Court against its former MD and co-founder Grover and his family, seeking up to Rs 88.67 crore in damages for alleged cheating and embezzlement of funds. The suit, running into 2,800 pages, alleges that Grover, his wife Madhuri Jain and other family members created fake bills, enlisted fictitious vendors to provide services to the company and overcharged the company for recruitment. Madhuri Jain was the head of controls at BharatPe and was fired earlier in 2022 after a forensic audit revealed several irregularities. Subsequently, Ashneer Grover resigned as CEO in March 2022. BharatPe, last year, hit the headlines when Grover was accused of using inappropriate language and threatening a Kotak Group employee for failing to secure an allotment and funding for the Nykaa IPO for himself and his wife Madhuri Jain Grover. Thereafter, BharatPe appointed Alvarez and Marsal, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and PwC to conduct a corporate governance review and determine whether Grover had committed willful misconduct. This led to the ouster of Jain and Grover from the company and its board in March. On May 10, 2022, BharatPe said that after the detailed review, the company had decided to take steps against employees involved in misconduct and claw back Ashneer Grover's restricted shares. "The complaint was received at EOW and enquiry has been conducted into the allegations levelled against alleged persons. From the contents of the complaint and enquiry conducted so far, prima-facie offences punishable under Sections 406/408/ 409/420/467/468/471/120B IPC (Indian penal code) are made out," the FIR copy reads. BharatPe had filed an arbitration claim in Singapore to claw back restricted shares (1.4 per cent) allotted to Grover and prevent him from using the title of a founder. In January this year, Koladiya sued Grover reclaiming the shares transferred in December 2018. Last month, the company's co-founder <keyword id="10222571" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="shashvat-nakrani" source="Orion">Shashvat Nakrani</keyword> sued Grover over "unpaid shares". MZM Legal is advising BharatPe on the criminal complaint.
