Origin of Govardhan Puja Govardhan Puja has its roots in the age of Dwapar during Krishnavatar. Govardhan Puja story During those days, the people in the village of Gokul performed elaborate pujas to please Indra, the king of gods. Indra realized he will never be able to win Krishna who was verily the avatar of Lord Vishnu finally got humbled and spared the village. Annakoot puja The villagers prepared elaborate foods consisting of about 56 items called as Chappan Bhog and offered to little Krishna who neither ate nor slept over the seven days while holding the hill to protect the villagers and cattle. This event gave rise to the ritual known as Annakoot puja which is performed on the day of Govardhan puja. People prepare a lot of dishes and worship Krishna on this day. As many as 12,602 units were registered between Navratri until Bhai Dooj – that’s October 15-November 15, 2023. It represents a 30% growth over last year’s festival period, as per <keyword id="151748" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="knight-frank-india" source="Orion">Knight Frank India</keyword>. Thanks to as many as 407 units being registered per day, the festive fervour has made the state exchequer richer by ₹1,257 crore. “Mumbai city embraced the auspicious festive period with a remarkable surge in property registrations, reflecting a heightened commitment to high-value investments. As the festive season continues, registration volumes are expected to remain robust, fuelled by favourable market conditions, including moderately increasing property prices and stable policy interest rates,” said Shishir Baijal, Chairman &amp; Managing Director, Knight Frank India. The surge was much expected due to a combination of factors like stable interest rates and the growing love for more spaces. Most experts have been betting on the real estate sector’s prospects this year. They also hope that 2023 as a whole will surpass 2022’s home sales. Moreso, the festive season is key for most developers because a large chunk of home sales take place during the period. “Approximately 40% of residential units sold annually close during the last quarter of the year. According to industry estimates, house sales in 2023 will likely be 20–30% higher than in 2022, given the current holiday season and the fact that sales are already approaching 2022 levels,” said Manju Yagnik, VC of Nahar Group. Anshuman Magazine, Chairman &amp; CEO - India, South-East Asia, Middle East &amp; Africa, CBRE also said that he expects the festive season sales to boost the momentum already seen through 2023. Developers too have been offering schemes and incentives to lure in buyers, especially first-time buyers. “As the residential cycle matures amidst inflationary pressures, we have witnessed increasing demand in the mid-end and premium categories. Conversely, the premium and luxury segment is expected to emerge as a sought-after investment avenue, particularly for HNIs and NRIs seeking to safeguard their investments amid global macroeconomic uncertainties,” said Magazine.

Mumbai property registrations jump 30% during festive season compared to last year

Governor Phagu Chauhan administered the oath to Kumar at the ceremony at Raj Bhavan. The National Democratic Alliance secured a majority in the October-November Assembly elections, winning 125 seats in the 243-member house. However, Nitish Kumar saw his Janata Dal-United's share slip to 43, while the BJP won 74 seats. Two smaller parties won eight seats. After taking oath as the chief minister of Bihar here on Monday, Nitish Kumar said he is missing his trusted colleague Sushil Kumar Modi in the new cabinet. Sushil Modi, who has been Deputy Chief Minister in Nitish Kumar's cabinets several times, hasn't been included in the cabinet this time. "We have a combination of old and new faces in the cabinet and we will work towards a better future for Bihar," Kumar said. Asked whether he was missing Sushil Kumar Modi this time, Kumar replied in the affirmative. Kumar took the oath on Monday, along with Tar Kishore Prasad and Renu Devi (likely to be deputy chief ministers) and 12 other ministers. These include Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Mewa Lal Chaudhary, Ashok Chaudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Sheela Kumari, Mangal Pandey, Amarendra Pratap Singh, Ram Preet Paswan, Jivesh Kumar, Ram Surat Kumar, Santosh Kumar Suman and Mukesh Sahani. The new faces in Kumar's cabinet in 2020 are Jivesh Kumar, Ram Surat Kumar, Sheela Kumari, Santosh Kumar Suman and Mukesh Sahani. Former Maharastra CM Devendra Fadnavis said: "For the BJP, it's a generational change to promote new faces in the party. BJP has internal democracy and it's reflect through such a decisions. BJP gives opportunity to every leader. With this, the eventual goal is to strengthen party." He further said: "Sushil Kumar is an asset for the BJP. He served for party over 40 years and party will use his experience at right place." The NDA has included two women ministers Renu Devi and Sheela Kumari in the cabinet. Women are considered as silent voters for NDA and it has been mentioned PM Narendra Modi himself. "Nitish Kumar is like my elder brother. On the occasion of Bhai Dooj, I have got a great opportunity to work with him again. I will work in the interest of women as well as all other persons sitting in the last line. The eventual goal for me is to work on the lines of Aatmanirbhar Bihar," Renu Devi said. Jivesh Kumar, a new face in the cabinet said: "The party has given me opportunity to serve as minister, I will work in the interest of Bihar."
