"The Badminton World Federation can confirm India's Tokyo 2020 Paralympic champion Pramod <keyword id="20315592" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="bhagat" source="keywords">Bhagat</keyword> has been suspended for a period of 18 months and will miss the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games," the governing body said in a statement on Tuesday. "In 1 March 2024, the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) Anti-Doping Division found Bhagat in breach of the BWF anti-doping regulations for committing three whereabouts failures within 12 months." The 36-year-old, an SL3 athlete, had appealed this decision to the CAS Appeals Division but it was rejected last month. "On 29 July 2024, the CAS Appeals Division dismissed the Bhagat's appeal and confirmed the CAS Anti-Doping Division decision of 1 March 2024. His period of ineligibility is now in effect," the statement added. His suspension is effective till September 1, 2025. Bhagat had won a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics in men's singles SL3 category, beating Daniel Bethell of Great Britain in the final. The 36-year-old Bihar-born shuttler had equalled the legendary Lin Dan of China by winning a fifth World Championships title in February last year at Pattaya, Thailand. "It is extremely sad and unfortunate. He was a sure shot medal for India at the Paralympics but he is a fighter and I am sure he will come back stronger," Indian para-badminton head coach Gaurav Khanna told PTI. Bhagat, who had contracted polio, resulting in a disability affecting his left leg at the age of five, is also a two-time Asian Games gold-medallist and is the current world No 3 in his category.

The Category 1 VCF - Angel Fund does not involve pooling, i.e. each investment is treated as a separate scheme giving investors the freedom to invest in a larger number of select deals, the company statement said. The second fund, Category 1 VCF, is aimed at those looking at investments over a wider portfolio, without getting into the nitty gritty of all participating startups. This fund will enable investors to participate in every deal on the platform, the statement added. Mumbai Angels will now be looking at a greater funnel of deals, with a deeper penetration in the early-stage startup pool through this acquisition, it said. Pramod Bhagat wins India's first badminton gold in Paralympics

Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (<keyword id="43749" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="TRS">TRS</keyword>) has consolidated its position in the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency, the counting trend showed on Sunday. After 11 rounds of counting, <keyword id="11074436" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="nomula-bhagat">Nomula Bhagat</keyword> of the TRS was leading by 9,034 votes over his nearest rival K. Jana Reddy of the <keyword id="1571" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Congress-party">Congress party</keyword>. The TRS candidate polled 38,924 votes while Jana Reddy secured 29,890 votes. Counting of votes polled in the April 17 bypoll began Sunday morning. The counting was taking place in two large halls, each with seven tables. About 400 officials were involved in counting and related activity. Officials expect the counting to be completed in 25 rounds. The constituency had witnessed 86.18 per cent polling on April 17 despite the Covid-19 surge. Out of the 2.20 lakh voters, 1.89 lakh had cast their votes. As many as 41 candidates, including three women, contested the bypoll, which was necessitated due to the death of sitting legislator Nomula <keyword id="240868" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narasimhaiah">Narasimhaiah</keyword> of the TRS. The ruling party fielded Narasimhaiah's son Nomula Bhagat, a debutant who took on veteran <keyword id="1575" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Congress">Congress</keyword> leader and seven-time MLA Jana Reddy. In 2018, Nomula Narasimhaiah had won the seat by defeating Jana Reddy of the Congress by about 8,000 votes. Nomula polled 83,655 votes while Jana Reddy had garnered 75,884 votes. BJP's K. Niveditha Reddy had polled only 2,675 votes. The TRS had polled 46.34 per cent votes while the Congress secured 42.04 per cent vote and the BJP could get only 1.48 per cent votes. The Delhi University has initiated the process of declaring the first cut-off list for 2019 for admissions to undergraduate (UG) courses. Among the colleges that have released the first cut off 2019 are SRCC, Kirori Mal College, Satyawati College, Dyal Singh College and <keyword id="629093" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shaheed-Bhagat-Singh-College">Shaheed Bhagat Singh College</keyword>. Shri Ram College of Commerce first cut off for BA (Hons) is pegged at 98.5%, 0.75% up from last year. The cut off for BA Economics (Hons) is 98.75%. However, the cut-offs for Miranda House, Hindu College, Lady Shri Ram College for Women or LSR College, <keyword id="6454339" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="gargi-college">Gargi College</keyword>, <keyword id="6479792" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="ramjas-college">Ramjas College</keyword>, <keyword id="124592" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sri-Venkateswara-College">Sri Venkateswara College</keyword> and Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College has not been released yet. Abiding by the guidelines from Delhi High Court, the <keyword id="151282" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="University-of-Delhi">University of Delhi</keyword> has extended the registration date for the admission process till 22 June 2019. The admissions under the first cut off will take place from 29 June to 1 July 2019. While the second and third cut-off list will be announced on 4 July and 9 July, respectively. Earlier, the varsity was expected to announce the cut-offs in 20 June. However, the schedule was revised on Wednesday. The number of students scoring 95% and above has increased by 38.4% this year, which is expected to impact the cut-off criteria of universities. This year, the National Testing Agency will conduct an entrance examination for the University of Delhi, for certain courses. The exams will be held between 30 June and 6 July 2019. While admissions to most of the undergraduate courses will take place according to their respective cut-offs. The admission for the 2019-2021 batch will enroll students for nearly 56,000 seats for the under-graduate courses. While, for the PG courses, the university has offered around 9,500 seats. Nearly 282 new seats have been added to the Delhi University courses. Stepping up the efforts, the University of Delhi is considering one percent relaxation for the students from government-run and rural schools.  His much awaited dream to make it big onscreen like his books was fulfilled at last. He made quite a performance on the <keyword id="7486" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Nach-Baliye">Nach Baliye</keyword> stage, a dance based reality show. Though the world would have loved to see him as a participant, but he is one of the judges. Not literally a performance though, but his appearance in the show itself demands it to be called so. Chetan Bhagat beat the tweet and how!

<keyword id="6357120" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="PayTM">Paytm</keyword> has announced that it has partnered with <keyword id="108320" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="IIT-Kanpur">IIT Kanpur</keyword> under its ‘Cashless Campus’ initiative to bring cashless payment solution to the institute, the company said in a statement. 
 
Its QR Code-based cashless payment solution, Paytm claimed, has been enabled across various offline touch-points within the IIT Kanpur campus including the Hostel Canteens, Medical Store, Tea Stalls, Book Stalls and Cycle Repairing shops among others. 
 
The move is to help students and teachers make quick and easy payments without the worries of carrying loose change. 
 Kiran Vasireddy, Senior Vice President – Paytm said, “Our ‘Cashless Campus’ initiative has proven to be a great success with the country’s youth. This is a clear reflection of the younger generation’s eagerness to choose digital payments over the hassles of cash. IIT Kanpur would be a great addition to our extensive portfolio of premium institutions including IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Madras and <keyword id="4276049" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="sree-ram-college-of-commerce">Sree Ram College of Commerce</keyword> among others that have gone cashless with Paytm. We strongly believe these cashless campuses would add a huge positive impetus to our vision of a cashless India.” 
 
Over the past years, Paytm has forged partnerships with several top colleges, universities and coaching across India. IIM A, IIM B, ISB- Hyderabad and Mohali, XLRI and IIM Indore and more have seen such tie-ups. 
 
Premier engineering colleges like IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras and IIT Gandhinagar are among others who also accept Paytm.

IIT Kanpur will soon become a completely cashless campus
