The watch comes with a stainless steel body and offers thin bezels, giving it a premium look. The metal build ensures that the watch is durable and you don’t have to worry. At the back, the watch features a plastic case that houses all the sensors and the magnetic pins for the charger. While the watch does not come with auto-brightness, it allows you to select from five brightness levels. Unlike a lot of budget smartwatches, the NoiseFit Origin does not lag and feels smooth to use. The smartwatch runs on the company’s new Nebula UI, which feels good to use. The UI is well-designed and does not feel clunky. It offers over 100+ sports modes including cricket, swimming, functional strength training and even more. It also offers sedentary and water reminders to help you stay active and hydrated. During our testing, we found that the watch’s tracking capabilities were fine, with small deviations when compared to reliable devices such as a Garmin or a certified oximeter. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Battery life" comment="subhead" text="Battery life">Battery life</cmsannotation> Coming to battery life, the NoiseFit Origin offers a decent battery life. While it is claimed to offer a seven-day battery life, during my usage with some activity tracking, I was able to get around five days of usage. While I used the feature with low expectations, considering the price, the watch performed decently. I tried calling and accepting calls on the watch for a day. While I was indoors, I was able to hear the other person easily on the speaker and the microphone also worked well as the other person was able to listen to me clearly. However, when I tried the feature outdoors in some traffic, I struggled to listen to the other person on the speaker. Similarly, there was a lot of disturbance, and the microphone could not pick up my voice. Overall, it’s a good feature if you wish to use this indoors. Realme Watch S Pro design and display The Realme Watch S Pro comes with a 46mm dial and thanks to its minimal bezels, the watch does not look too big on my wrist. Coming to the display, it features a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It comes with 450 nits brightness and is equipped with an ambient light sensor. The display is vibrant and at peak brightness is clearly visible outdoors. If you’re a fan of the traditional circular watch design, the Realme Watch S Pro is a good option. Realme Watch S Pro features The Realme Watch S Pro comes with a host of fitness features. In terms of sensors, it is equipped with a heart rate sensor, an accelerometer, a geomagnetic sensor, gyroscope and a wearing monitoring sensor. It offers 15 sports modes including cricket, swimming, basketball and yoga. It also offers sedentary and water reminders to help you stay active and hydrated. The Realme Watch S Pro allows you to monitor your heart rate, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels, sleep quality and more. It offers 5ATM water resistance, allowing you to easily take it with you while swimming. It offers a minimalistic experience and while the watch faces are not customisable, you have over 100 options to choose from. We compared the steps and distance covered on the Realme Watch S Pro with the Oppo Watch and the OnePlus Band. While the Oppo Watch and OnePlus Band displayed similar results, there was a variance of around 10% on the Realme Watch S Pro. On a positive note, sleep tracking and blood oxygen tracking was accurate on the Realme Watch S Pro. The heart rate tracking on the device is accurate as well. For verifying blood oxygen statistics, I used a certified oximeter and observed that the readings were similar. Coming to the battery life, the Realme Watch S Pro is equipped with a 390mAh battery. In our usage, we found that it offers excellent battery life and with always-on display turned on during the day, I managed to get around nine days of battery life. Verdict Realme gets plenty of things right with the Watch S Pro. The battery life is very impressive and important features like blood oxygen measurement, heart rate monitoring, and sleep tracking are accurate. Realme needs to fine-tune basics like activity and steps tracking to make this a complete package. Realme’s decision to stay away from Wear OS might be slightly surprising, but the Realme Link app works well and offers enough data points to keep a track of your fitness. As of 23 April, India has 25,52,940 active cases and has witnessed 189,549 deaths, and the air is grim, to say the least. With a near-collapse of the healthcare system, people are understandably grasping at straws to try anything to keep the virus at bay or, if infected, help alleviate the symptoms. Since healthcare professionals are hard to reach, people are resorting to the next best thing, the internet, which is rife with suggestions and recommendations that are sometimes helpful, but most are borderline dangerous. But what is worrying is that doctors, too, are “recommending medications that have no proper evidence from clinical trials to back them up. One of these drugs is <keyword id="7429144" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ivermectin">Ivermectin</keyword>,” a concerned Dr Ghazzali Ahmad, who works in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) as a frontline accident and emergency doctor tells Business Insider. Many self-administered drugs may further complicate the course of illness if not used at an appropriate time. For example, some patients start oral steroids in the first few days of illness that may suppress the normal immune responses,” he adds. Medications, their efficacy and side effects <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Budesonide" comment="subhead" text="Budesonide"><keyword id="1368551" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="budesonide">Budesonide</keyword></cmsannotation> Is an inhaled steroid used in the management of bronchial asthma. Its role in treating Covid-19 is not yet confirmed, but few <a href="https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanres/article/PIIS2213-2600(21)00160-0/fulltext">reports</a> have indicated some benefits. Early administration of inhaled Budesonide reduces the likelihood of needing urgent medical care and reduces recovery time. If a patient is incessantly coughing, he/she can take it at home. The medicine has only a few minor side effects like redness, dryness of mouth, etc. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Dexamethasone" comment="subhead" text="Dexamethasone">Dexamethasone</cmsannotation> This is one of the very few medicines with strong evidence of providing definite benefits in Covid management and is one of the few drugs with <a href="https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/coronavirus-disease-covid-19-dexamethasone">WHO backing</a>. This corticosteroid is used to combat a variety of conditions due to its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant properties. Strong evidence suggests that treatment with dexamethasone reduces 28-day mortality in patients with Covid-19 who receive respiratory support. However, there are no benefits (and the possibility of harm) among patients who do not require oxygen. It should be started after one week of getting the illness. During treatment, typical side effects include high blood sugar level, acidity, gastric ulcer, exacerbation or superadded infection (added infections over an existing disease). <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Remdesivir" comment="subhead" text="Remdesivir">Remdesivir</cmsannotation> It is an antiviral drug used initially in the treatment of the Ebola virus. There is still no incontrovertible proof of its efficacy against Covid-19. The drug has no impact on final mortality, and at best, can reduce the duration of the illness. The drug does help reduce viral replication, and if used, it should be used only in hospitalised, moderate-to-severe cases with low SpO2 and require oxygen. It has no prophylactic (preventing an illness) role and should not be administered at home. The drug may have serious side effects on the gastrointestinal, hepatic and renal system. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Becozinc" comment="subhead" text="Becozinc">Becozinc</cmsannotation>This has a high dose of around 50 mg of elemental zinc. There is no evidence that it has some impact either on the duration of the disease or outcome. High amounts of zinc may cause some adverse effects like nausea, vomiting, stomachache, diarrhoea, headaches, anorexia, muscle weakness, etc. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Vitamin C tablets" comment="subhead" text="Vitamin C tablets"><keyword id="20923" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vitamin-C">Vitamin C</keyword> tablets</cmsannotation>Although vitamin C is known to have antioxidant effects, the clinical implication of its use in Covid pneumonia is not established. There is no role of this drug in the prevention of Covid-19. There are reports of the use of high-dose intravenous vitamin C as part of treatment for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) associated with COVI-19 infection, but there are no randomised controlled trials or concrete evidence to support its use. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Doxycycline/Azithromycin" comment="subhead" text="Doxycycline/Azithromycin">Doxycycline/Azithromycin</cmsannotation>Antibiotics do not work against viruses; they only work on bacterial infections. COVID-19 is caused by a virus. Antibiotics should not be used as a means of prevention or treatment of COVID-19. In hospitals, physicians will sometimes use antibiotics to prevent or treat secondary bacterial infections, which can be a complication of COVID-19 in severely ill patients. They should only be used as directed by a physician to treat a bacterial infection. These antibiotics may have some side effects like diarrhoea, oral ulcers, among others. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Antipyretic drugs" comment="subhead" text="Antipyretic drugs">Antipyretic drugs</cmsannotation>This is a mandatory addendum to any Covid-management protocol. It is used for symptomatic relief for fever, headache, muscular pains, etc. However, its use should be restricted to provide temporary relief to associated symptoms. High doses of antipyretics (drugs that reduce fever) and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may lead to gastric irritation, acidity, and liver dysfunctions. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="FabiFlu" comment="subhead" text="FabiFlu">FabiFlu</cmsannotation>This oral antiviral drug was approved for influenza in Japan and has shown potent in vitro activity (lab studies) against SARS-CoV-2. However, there is no evidence that this antiviral provides some protection against Covid-19. Some studies have shown that it can reduce the duration of Covid-19 by only 2-3 days. However, quality evidence is lacking. It has some side effects like diarrhoea, hyperuricemia (high levels of uric acid), psychiatric symptoms, etc. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Ivermectin" comment="subhead" text="Ivermectin">Ivermectin</cmsannotation> This is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent used against worm infestation. This is another widely used drug, but there is no evidence that it works. No clinical trials have reported a clinical benefit for Ivermectin in patients with Covid-19. The common side effects include tiredness, loss of energy, stomach pain, loss of appetite, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea. Effectiveness of non-medical recommendations Masking: This is most definitely the way to go. In the current scenario, <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/16/cdc-director-says-face-masks-may-provide-more-protection-than-coronavirus-vaccine-.html">some believe</a> it may be more beneficial than even vaccines. Steam inhalation: The steam inhalation practice is risky, and there is no scientific proof that it can prevent a <keyword id="1754604" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="coronavirus">coronavirus</keyword> infection. Further, this steam inhalation can be unsafe and may lead to burns. Lying on your stomach to reduce breathlessness: Called <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7402434/">awake proning</a>, this technique helps tackle ARDS. Because of fluid accumulation, patients suffering from ARDS need mechanical ventilation since their lungs are unable to oxygenate blood on their own. Lying on the stomach relieves the excess pressure of fluid build-up around the lung tissues. Smelling a concoction of camphor, clove, carom seeds (ajwain), and eucalyptus oil tied in a muslin bag can help improve oxygen levels and congestion: No evidence that they provide any beneficial effects. Drinking a concoction of black pepper powder, honey, ginger juice will help keep the virus at bay: Again, no evidence to back the same. Divya Coronil: No good-quality evidence. In view of shortage of beds for coronavirus infected patients in Delhi, the Modi government has decided to immediately provide 500 railway coaches which will be equipped with all facilities, he said. Also, detailed guidelines will be issued for conducting the last rites of those who succumb to the deadly virus. Shah said a joint team of doctors of the union health ministry, Delhi government's health department, AIIMS and the three Municipal Corporation of Delhi will visit all COVID-designated hospitals in the capital and prepare a report after inspecting the health systems and preparedness The development comes two days after the Supreme Court lashed out at the AAP government, describing as "horrific" the state of affairs in Delhi hospitals with bodies being stacked next to COVID-19 patients. It had also expressed concern over fewer tests being conducted in the national capital and had directed ramping up of testing. According to the city government's recent submission in the Delhi High Court , the combined daily testing capacity of 40 labs, 17 public and 23 private, is 8,600 per day. The number of containment zones in capital has increased from 122 on June 1 to 242. The home minister, who was directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday to look into the Delhi COVID-19 situation, said in order to carry out the contact tracing well in Delhi's containment zones, a comprehensive house-to-house health survey of every person will be done and its report will be submitted within a week. For proper monitoring, he said, the Aarogya Setu app will be downloaded in every person's mobile phone. With the railway coaches provided by the Centre, the number of beds will be increased by 8,000 beds. He said a committee has been formed to ensure reservation of 60 per cent beds for coronavirus patients in private hospitals at low rates and to fix rates of COVID-19 treatment and testing. The committee will submit its report by Monday. The home minister said in order to provide correct information and guidelines for coronavirus to small hospitals in Delhi, the central government has decided to constitute a committee in AIIMS with senior doctors for telephonic guidance so that the best systems can be communicated to the ground level. Its helpline number will be released on Monday. Shah said the central government will provide the Delhi government necessary resources like oxygen cylinders, ventilators, pulse oximeters and all other requirements. The home minister said India is fighting the coronavirus strongly and the government is sad and sensitive to the suffering of the families who lost their dear ones due to the infection. The government has decided to release new guidelines for the last rites of those dying of coronavirus, which will reduce the waiting period, he said. Shah said the central government will also make available its five senior officers to the Delhi government to help fight the coronavirus vigorously. The Union Health Ministry, the Delhi government, all departments concerned and experts have been instructed to ensure that the decisions taken on Sunday are implemented well till the ground level. The home minister said under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the country has been fighting the coronavirus with full vigilance and participation. He said many voluntary organisations are also doing very excellent work. In this context, the government has decided to add the Scouts and Guides, NCC, NSS and other NGOs as volunteers in health services to fight the pandemic. "The Modi government is determined to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the country's capital," Delhi. Apart from Shah, Baijal and Kejriwal, those who attended the meeting include Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, members of the State Disaster Management Authority and senior officers from the home and health ministries. The home minister has also called another meeting in the evening with the mayors of Delhi's three municipal corporations -- North, South and East -- and commissioners of the civic bodies to discuss the coronavirus situation in the national capital. The LG, chief minister and the Union health minister will also attend the evening meeting. The number of coronavirus cases in Delhi is the third highest in the country after Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. There has been criticism from different quarters over the handling of COVID-19 cases in the capital, with complaints of non-availability of beds in hospitals for patients and difficulty in getting the tests done in laboratories. After the Supreme Court observation, the Arvind Kejriwal government said it accepts with utmost respect and sincerity the apex court's remarks and pointed out that it was trying its best to set up better infrastructure and provide quality healthcare to all COVID-19 patients in the city. India saw the highest single-day spike of 11,929 novel coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the number of infections to over 3.20 lakh on Sunday, while the toll crossed the 9,000 mark with 311 more deaths, the Health Ministry said.
