I've been dying to try out this Freck Cheekslime, mainly because of the name, and I've been obsessed with all kinds of liquid blushes lately. I'll admit I went in too hot. I applied way too much too fast, and I think the sponge wasn't the best way to apply this. She was giving clown, so we did a take two. I used less, and I went in with a brush, and it worked out so much better. This stuff dries down super quickly, so I recommend doing one cheek at a time, but the color payoff is amazing. I don't think I like it very much as a lip tint. It was kind of patchy and powdery feeling on the lips. But as a blush, I love it. This orange shade is so fun. I've seen these Glisten split cake liners before, but I've never tried them out. They released this limited-edition rainbow Pride Liner, and 100% of the profits are going to LGBTQIA+ charities, which is incredible. This was kind of intimidating to use at first. I'm not great at, like, cool <keyword id="493898" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Eyeliner">eyeliner</keyword> looks, but this did make me want to experiment a little. The colors are so, so pigmented. The one that did give me a little bit of trouble was the yellow. I think I applied it with too much water, and it got a little patchy, but I think I fixed it. And the liners dry down super quickly. I'm not going to make a habit of featuring limited-edition stuff, but this one felt too special to not include. Also, this is probably going to last me forever, so I feel like it's totally worth it. I saw a TikTok of someone trying out this <keyword id="27602" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Charlotte-Tilbury">Charlotte Tilbury</keyword> liner, and it made their eyes look so gorgeous and sparkly, so I needed to try it. The black side worked fine, but this metallic gold side is what I'm obsessed with. It went on my waterline super smoothly, which hasn't really been my experience with other pencil liners. I have an unusually wet waterline, so no eyeliner ever sticks to it, but this one went on so easily. I feel like I can definitely see a bit of difference in the eye with the gold liner versus without it. It really does reflect the light right onto your eye, so you have, like, these sparkly, beautiful Disney princess eyes. I think this is a new favorite for me. Skin tints are still going strong in beauty right now. This one is from <keyword id="4732423" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Huda-Beauty">Huda Beauty</keyword>'s new GloWish line. I thought that I wouldn't like this, but the second I blended it in, I was obsessed. This gives your skin the most amazing glow and looks like you have no foundation on at all. The glow isn't the most natural-looking sheen, but I still think it looked amazing. This is low coverage. It didn't cover up any of my dark spots super well, but it did a good job of evening out my skin tone. I do think this is pretty overpriced, though. $37 for a <keyword id="11734997" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="skin-tint">skin tint</keyword>? That just feels wrong. Phytosurgence is a new brand for me. I recently saw this blush balm on Instagram, and it's supposed to be like skin care and <keyword id="29496" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Makeup">makeup</keyword> in one. It has meadowfoam seed oil in it, which is supposed to be super moisturizing, and it also has kokum butter, which will soften the skin without clogging your pores. I was nervous about putting this on over my foundation, but it actually applied nicely. The texture is more moussey than balmy, which is interesting. It's super pigmented, so I didn't have to use too much. I think I messed up by going over the blush with a sponge, because I removed a small patch of foundation when I did that. I think using a brush and just leaving it alone is probably the best way to work with this, but I still really, really like it. And this does dry down to a soft, powdery finish.

This is the Pseudo Labs PHreckles Kit. It's nothing like any other faux-freckle product I've ever seen. You basically get the freckle liquid, which has a little round brush in it, and this little toothpick-looking thing that you use to flick the liquid onto your face to give you very natural-looking freckles. I knew this was going to be a messy process, so I tucked a paper towel in my shirt and just went at it. Am I freckly? [gasps] A little! Right away, I was obsessed with how the freckles came out. It's a strange and kind of messy process, but they do end up looking really natural and cute. But I highly recommend you do this topless or with a paper towel stuffed into your shirt.I wanted to try the Milani Conceal + Perfect Smooth Finish Cream-To-Powder Foundation because I saw people saying this was a dupe for the KVD Good Apple Balm. It's not. That foundation is literally a balm, so it's very slippy and almost a little oily. This Milani one is very thick and kind of dry. I don't like the texture of this at all. I do feel like this did a great job of covering everything up, because it is full coverage, but it definitely emphasized a lot of my texture, and I don't love how it sat on my skin.This is the <keyword id="10017604" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="colourpop">ColourPop</keyword> Feather Effect Styling Brow Wax. I got both the clear and the tinted versions. Also, please excuse my purple, stained fingers. This product is...a little strange. I do think that it gives your brows that fluffy, feathered look, but I had to keep dipping in over and over to get it to look the way I wanted it to. The texture of this is just very odd. Like, I had to keep checking my brush to make sure that there was anything even on it. If you're looking to this as a dupe for the ABH Brow Freeze, I don't think this is one. The Brow Freeze has a way softer texture and literally does freeze your brows. Like, they will not move. This one has way less hold, and it doesn't feel like it dries down. Also, I feel like there's zero difference in color between the tinted and the clear. So weird. Now let's talk about the blush of my dreams!The <keyword id="11246858" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="melt-cosmetics">Melt Cosmetics</keyword> Cream Blushlight. You guys, I didn't know how this was going to go because I had already powdered my entire face, but I took a risk and I just applied the blush on top, and oh, my God. This blush is so gorgeous, and it didn't mess up the foundation or powder underneath at all. I'm in love right now. And because I'm obviously a huge blush lover, I had to apply more and more and more, and it layered beautifully. It's totally buildable. I fully understand now why this has been sold out everywhere! These are multiuse pigments, and they come in a bunch of different colors and finishes. These pigments are no joke. Literally one drop is all you need. I definitely used too much, but I'm so impressed not only by how pigmented they are, but how many ways you can use them. I used them for under-eye corrector, blush, eyeliner, and lipstick. Once these dry down, they're definitely staying put. This was not my best makeup work, but I was just having a good time playing around with these.Minimal, skinlike makeup is kind of like the norm now, and this <keyword id="3034509" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Fenty-Beauty">Fenty Beauty</keyword> Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint totally makes sense for the time. It's actually way less liquidy than I imagined it to be. And, as expected, the coverage was pretty minimal, but this skin tint is super buildable, so I just added more where I felt like I needed it. Highly recommend using a brush if you want to get the most coverage out of it. The finish is pretty nice, and it does dry down, so you don't have to worry about any tackiness. I am just so not a skin-tint kind of person, but this one gives you that your-skin-but-better look that I think a lot of people would be into.

Is that, like, the best place to take all of your video meetings and stuff too?Steve: Yeah, that's what I do, is I choose my living room. It has the best lighting. So I face my camera right in front of the window, and I always feel like I look perfect. Even when I feel like I look a little tired, the natural light kinda helps me.Nico: So, we're parked in front of my window, sponge is wet and ready to be used, what is step one?Steve: I use about, like, one pump. Like a pea size. I don't use a lot.Nico: Pea sized. Meanwhile, I'm over here with, like, a glob. [laughs]Steve: I feel that concealer gives me enough coverage, but it looks better on camera in a sense that I feel that my skin is more even toned, and I get slightly more coverage than just my regular foundation without looking too heavy. I'm gonna start with one where it's more of my skin color, and I'm gonna use that to kind of even out my skin and cover up this blemish. You don't have to apply too much. I usually start, like, just kinda, like, doing a streak, like, on my cheek. Then I'm gonna go ahead and do the other side. Of course, let's cover up this hideous blemish. Now I want you to take a little bit of your setting spray, and just do a couple squirts right on top, like, maybe four or five. And then go ahead and just, like, kinda squeeze it together. This way, not only are you laying your makeup down smoothly, but you're going to press it in so that it doesn't move, 'cause you're locking it in with that setting spray. But that's pretty much it, and you're gonna see that it's going to give you such great coverage, and of course based off of your skin's needs, you can go in and add a little bit more in different areas whether you have discoloration or breakouts and cover all of that as well. I don't use too much concealer. So, I do a little triangle, but I kinda just do it, like, in the corner of my eye here. And then also, and then I'll do a little bit, like, towards the end. So, you know, you and I and right now, as we're chatting and walking through these steps, it's gonna take a little longer. But if you're just at home doing it on yourself, it'll take you 15 minutes max, because a lot of the products that we are using are multiuse. I'm gonna go in with my All Nighter face powder, and I'm gonna take my powder brush. And I'm just really going to focus the powder just in the center of my face. 'Cause I just want to set the center of my face.Nico: I literally just put on so much powder. [laughing] I just did so much. OK.Steve: Yeah, that's a little excessive.Nico: Oh, my God, OK, wait. I can fix this.Steve: Just dust it off, dust it off, dust it off.Nico: Thank God that we went in with that brighter under-eye concealer, because quarantine sleep schedule right now is absolutely insane. It's so hard for me to sleep through the night at all. I can't do it.Steve: So, I don't know what is happening, but for some reason, I don't get sleepy until after midnight.Nico: [laughs] Same.Steve: Now we wanna start to bring some definition into the skin so that you don't look so one-toned.Nico: Yeah, I look, like, a little ghostly. [laughs] Steve: So, we're gonna start going with, I'm gonna use a deeper shade and concealer for my contour. You can use cream, liquid, whatever you have around the house.Nico: OK.Steve: For you, I want you to start applying from your hairline, so the middle of your ear.Nico: Right here?Steve: Uh-huh. I apply, like, in a dot formation, or you can do one swipe. I'm gonna kinda go down about halfway to the eye.Nico: Dots. That's a good idea, because I feel like the swipe, so much can go wrong so fast. [laughs]Steve: When it comes to contouring, warmer colors are gonna give you depth. Cool tones are going to hollow out.Nico: And then should I do this massively large forehead?Steve: [laughs] Come on, Tyra Banks.Nico: [laughs] I literally, I'm Tyra and Rihanna's baby.Steve: Yeah, you can just put some around there as well. And I'm blending up to my brow. And then kinda, like, outward, and then of course you can blend down too for your nose.Nico: OK. Oh, my gosh, you're so fast, I'm like....Steve: No, no, take your time, 'cause I will keep blending for, like, 10 hours. Do you see, like, your eye area, you see how you have, like, that depth and hollowness? And then your nose is starting to, like, really get defined now? Because before you did this, your nose kinda, like, blended into your skin. And now you have, like, a nice color and definition around your face. I'm starting to see your cheekbones. Like, everything is, like, falling into place. I'm just gonna take a little bit of my bronzer on my fluffy brush.Nico: I feel like this is already making me look, like, way less flat compared to before.Steve: That looks so good. And it's giving your skin this nice beautiful warmth.Nico: Whoa. I'm looking at my camera, and I'm like, oh, my God.Steve: I just lost 10 pounds.Nico: [laughs] Quarantine 15, who?Steve: [laughs] Right? Brows really do help define the eyes and shape the eye. So I do think it's important to add a little bit of love to your brow, whether it's just a slight tint of a gel or filling in those sparse areas. You're going to see that it makes such a difference. I always like to start off by combing my brows up. So I always start with the base of my brow, kinda going all the way through. And you can see I'm just flicking this pencil across, because that's going to give you the illusion of more of an actual brow than a drawn-on brow. Yeah, your brow looks good. But you can see from one to the other. It just gave that color back to your brow. This one eye looks slightly lifted. Your eyes look a little bit more defined. So brows do make a really big statement. I love using products multipurpose. So, I love using, like, my bronzers, my blushes, and stuff like that to really carve out my eye and define them. So let's use what we already have. One less product for you to apply. I'm just gonna go in with my bronzer. I'm going back and forth in circular motions and really just carving out that area, and I'm taking it all the way in, just like you are, like, right where your brow is, just like when we had that cream contour, and we're just kinda going back and forth in a circular motion, really carving out, but I am building that definition. That looks so pretty. See? Look at the difference from one eye to the other.Nico: Seriously.Steve: That crease by your eye almost looks deeper of a socket. And I take the same color, and I'm gonna just apply it underneath my eye as well. So, now to add all the definition to your eyes, we're gonna go in with mascara. I'm using Perversion. So grab your favorite mascara.Nico: OK. I like really, really thick lashes. So I go in with, like, five coats of mascara. Your lashes are beautiful.Steve: Oh, these guys?Nico: Oh, my God.Steve: The perks of being Middle Eastern. But the downside is you're, like, hairy all over. [laughing] Do you know much money I spent to laser my back hair?Nico: Oh, my God. [laughs] Do you do bottom lashes?Steve: I don't for myself, but I recommend that you do. Especially when you're on camera. I know in person you typically won't do it. But, look, the eye without bottom lashes, it looks really, like, flat, where the eye with it, your eye is completely, like, defined, you can see the almond shape a little bit better. OK, so on to blush. I tend to stick with something that's a little bit more warmer, peachier, more on, like, the bronzier colors. I'm just gonna apply my blush right on the apples on my cheek. And again, I'm pressing this in and blending it up into my contour, so that I have this nice, smooth transition and I have my shape here and my color here. Ooh, I love that color on you!Nico: Yay! I like this color too.Steve: Go back with our shadow brush. Give it to our blush. Just kinda, like, here, on the outer corner. We're not gonna take it all the way in, just kinda keeping it on the outer corner. I'm just kinda, like, applying it right in there just to give this, like, really pretty monochromatic pop of color. I love a monochromatic vibe. I think it looks so pretty. And it reads really well on camera. So, when it comes to highlighter, I like to focus this on the areas that are going to enhance your features and that the camera is going to catch. So, before applying a highlighter, I want you to take your setting spray. I want you to just do, like, one or two squirts. OK, and then I want you to go in with your highlighter. I'm gonna go ahead and just press this guy into my cheekbone. And because my skin is damp, it's going to pick up that highlight and kinda melt it into my skin, so that it gives this illusion of a nice dewy glow and you don't look overdone. Hoo-wee! We are glowing.Nico: I was always too scared to put on highlight after spraying my face, 'cause I was like, oof, I don't think the world is ready, but it's ready now.Steve: Oh, yeah. All we're doing is talking while we're on these video calls, so the main focus is your mouth. So your lip should always be really nicely defined and shaped. So that's why I like to go in with a slightly deeper lip pencil than my actual lip color 'cause I want to add that dimension. Again, we're gonna keep it really clean and simple. I'm gonna go in with a glossy tint and apply that right on top, and this is a pretty neutral shade, close to my lip color. OK, last but not least, let's set it all in place. We've used this guy throughout our entire process, and now we're gonna use it one last final time.Nico: Great, OK. Setting spray shower.Steve: Little more, just hold on.Nico: Just a little more. I can't believe, like, the difference, like, just a few little hits of things makes, I can't believe it.Steve: You know, again, when you're on a Zoom call, whether it is with a friend or if it's business, you don't wanna be completely overdone. This is the third Nord device we have seen in the last 10 months and it seems like the number is only going to increase from here. It doesn’t come as a surprise as the company has already shared its plan to go full frontal in the budget segment with the Nord series — It started with Nord, then a CE variant, and now a CE Lite. The CE 2 Lite promises to offer the same standard of experience at an even lower price. Does it live upto the OnePlus standards and can it make a mark in a segment mostly dominated by Xiaomi and Realme? I will try to answer that in my review. Price and Availability The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite starts at ₹19,999 for the base variant that comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. You can get an upgraded 8GB of RAM by spending ₹21,999, with similar storage. You can buy the Nord CE 2 Lite from the Amazon India website or OnePlus’s own website. Design &amp; Build Quality This latest Nord is a fresh take on the classic OnePlus’ design. It has the shades of its elder sibling CE 2 but adds a more contemporary approach to it. Sporting a plastic build, the Nord CE 2 Lite makes it evident that it’s a budget phone and the signs of cost-cutting are obvious in this department. <div type="image" title="OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G&amp;#39;s Bahama Blue color" msid="91156394" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G&amp;#39;s Blue Tide color looks good&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The phone is thick and weighs 195 grams, and you can feel the weight while using it in one hand, which might be an issue with those with a small palm. The big 5000 mAh battery is sort of a reason, but I feel OnePlus could have done better with the weight distribution. On the back, there is a protruding camera bump, but we can’t complain about that anymore since it’s a common smartphone trait. Yes, it does wobble a bit when you put it on the table, however, slapping on the bundled case takes care of that issue. The unit with me is in a new Blue Tide color which has a tint of green in it as well. Looking different from the Bahama Blue on Nord CE 2, this color definitely stands out. The matte finish only adds to the appeal since it provides a better grip and is less prone to smudges. The rest of the design characteristics are closer to the Nord CE 2. For starters, just like the former, CE 2 Lite does not get an alert slider. I would have ranted about it, but here the absence can be passed as it comes at a low price point. We do get a headphone jack, which is a rare feature on phones these days. It’s responsive and unlocks the phone with a gentle tap. While modern phones have moved on to in-display fingerprint sensor, a lot of OEMs like Samsung and Realme are now shifting back to the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which was first introduced by Sony. I personally prefer the in-display fingerprint sensor, but this one is also perfectly functional and performs very well. <div type="image" title="Side-mounted fingerprint sensor" msid="91156461" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The volume rockers are on the left side, which is of good quality material and does the job well. The phone does feel robust, but an official IP rating adds psychological satisfaction to the consumer. Display - The ‘average’ of both worlds <div type="image" title="Nord CE 2 Lite features a 6.5-inch LCD display" msid="91156540" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Nord CE 2 Lite features a 6.5-inch LCD display&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite has followed suit with its counterparts and has an LCD screen. The latest Nord features a massive 6.5-inch punch-hole display with 2412x1080 pixels resolution. Being used to gorgeous displays on OnePlus devices including the Nord CE 2 with an AMOLED panel, the CE 2 Lite leaves you wanting for more. It doesn’t mean that it’s bad by any means, the colors look vibrant and the display manages to reproduce crisp images and retain details. Watching content on it is also satisfactory, however, you do miss out on deeper blacks, sharpness and vibrance of an AMOLED panel. You need to set it to max brightness in order to view the content on the screen under direct sunlight. I was using the auto-brightness initially, but it wasn’t adjusting the brightness as required. It was not only slow but also failed to detect the light intensity in some cases. <div type="image" title="Nord CE 2 Lite features a 120Hz refresh rate" msid="91156560" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Nord CE 2 Lite features a 120Hz refresh rate&amp;lt;span class=&amp;quot;redactor-invisible-space&amp;quot;&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/span&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The display comes with 120Hz refresh rate. There is no adaptive refresh rate, but a user can simply switch between the standard 60Hz and 120Hz. During my testing the display was set to 120Hz, adding a zing to my experience. The smooth flowing animation and the responsiveness of the screen made the interaction wholesome. While OnePlus has tried to do justice to the user with the LCD panel, it is important to point out that Samsung did a better job on the Galaxy F23 5G. With similar specs, the LCD display on the Galaxy F23 5G is brighter and the adaptive refresh rate feature comes in handy when you switch between content, playing games or just scrolling through web pages. OnePlus combines the display with a single loudspeaker that delivers quality sound. It compliments the screen well while facing the same issue that every bottom-firing speaker does - your palm can block it in landscape orientation. But when it doesn't, the audio experience is satisfactory. UI - The USP Running on Android 12 out of the box, the latest Nord comes with Oxygen OS 12 skin. As clean as it can get, the CE 2 Lite’s OS is perhaps its strongest characteristic, especially for an affordable phone. There is practically no bloatware, except for OnePlus’ proprietary apps like community and the OnePlus store. You also find Spotify and Netflix onboard both of which can be uninstalled. <div type="image" title="Nord CE 2 Lite features Android 12" msid="91156574" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Nord CE 2 Lite features Android 12&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The result is a clean user experience that is easy on the eyes and quick to understand. OnePlus has introduced some new shortcuts for better productivity, like the ‘shelf’. A swipe on the top right brings down a tray that has all the essentials one needs. From data to weather and even app widgets. However, I would suggest keeping it classy and sticking to the stock skin. It’s subtle and easily understandable. You can do more aesthetic customizations on the phone like changing app icon styles and transitions. All of these make the experience intimate and you feel closer to the device. So far I have not come across any bugs that trouble me. But we have to note that this is a brand new unit, and the performance tends to go down eventually. OnePlus provides both fingerprint and face recognition on the CE 2 Lite. While the fingerprint sensor is snappy as I mentioned earlier in the piece, the face scanner struggles to unlock the device. And if you are wearing a mask, then there is no chance of it unlocking. Performance - Surprisingly fast Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC the Nord CE 2 Lite, puts itself in a respectable space. Yes, its direct competitors like the Samsung Galaxy F23 come with the Snapdragon 750 5G chipset, but the performance in real-time is at par. The device with me packs in 8GB of RAM and delivers snappy performance. Boot-up speed is quick and you can expect the phone to start in a blink. Memory retention so far has been satisfactory, and the device usually boots up applications from the point where I left them. This includes heavy games like BGMI. This also brings us to the gaming performance on the phone. I played 3 action-packed rounds of BGMI on the CE 2 Lite and the experience was by far the best I have seen on a budget device. Running the game on HD settings, and high refresh rate there were minimal frame drops. The 120Hz refresh rate also adds to the experience. There is also a game mode on the phone that uplifts the experience. A simple swipe opens up a menu tray to look at the thermals, put the phone on silent mode and even record the screen. Yes, the phone does heat up while playing games, but it was only in the third round when I felt the heat. Yet, it is not unbearable, and in line with the output, you are getting. Before we move on to the battery performance it’s important to highlight the storage. The 128GB storage on my unit should be enough for most generic users. However, if you want more you can put in an SD card for upto 1TB capacity. Time to talk about battery life. Packing in a 5000 mAh cell, the Nord CE 2 lite, is a powerhouse. On a working day, the smartphone gave me a mileage of about 5 and a half hours and then some. This involved mostly calling casual social media, and occasional gaming. With the 35W SuperVOOC charger in the box, CE 2 Lite would charge from 0-100% in about 50 minutes. Clearly, the numbers are strong with this one. But, note the battery life mostly depends on your usage. Camera - The weak link The CE 2 Lite is a classic case of camera specs not translating to performance. I had some decent expectations from it, but I was thoroughly disappointed. The camera, while being quick in taking snaps, tends to fail at capturing natural colors. The video results are nothing to write home about, and the camera performs well only under well-lit conditions. The audio recording is also not of the best quality, but decent for the price. Then there is a 2MP depth sensor for those portrait shots. The edge detection is satisfactory and the portraits do come out well. I clicked pictures of different subjects and wasn't disappointed. <div type="image" title="Selfies look soft and under saturated." msid="91156710" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Selfies look soft and under saturated.&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The selfie camera is a 16MP shooter, this is the same Sony IMX471 sensor as we saw on the CE 2. The performance is also similar and the output is fairly decent. You can use AI as well to tweak your images. From nose shape to cheeks you can fiddle around with everything. Verdict The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is a trimmed down version of an already toned down version of the Original Nord- which is also a budget offering from OnePlus. Do you see the paradox here? By itself, this smartphone seems to be a strong contender against its counterparts like the Samsung Galaxy F23 5G or Realme 9. However, I feel its real competitors are from its own family. If you want the OnePlus experience on a budget, and can spend some more money then I would recommend going for the CE 2. This device is meant for users who want reliable performance in terms of battery, display and a clean software experience. However, if you are looking for a great camera then you should consider Mi 11 Lite.
