Though there are still favorites, while talking to analysts covering the tournament at Turner's NCAA Tournament Media Day, it was clear that many think there could be some upsets this year.</p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"If a Cinderella is ever gonna win March Madness, this is the year," said Charles Barkley, who helps cover the tournament from the studio for CBS. He added, "It is totally up for grabs."</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Virginia owns the No. 1 seed in the South bracket and has been a favorite for many experts because of their stingy defense and a 17-1 record in the difficult ACC. But they also have a tough road to the championship, particularly with guard De'Andre Hunter out for the tournament with a broken wrist.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"It is wide open this year," said former NBA star Steve Smith, who works as an analyst during the tournament. "We kinda say that every year, but when you really start to look at it, it hasn't been a dominant team. Virginia is the No. 1 team, but who saw that coming? … I don't think there'd be that much of a surprise if you saw somebody come out as a 6-seed, 7-seed, 8-seed."</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Barkley called the defensive-minded Virginia squad a "dangerous" team for their lack of offensive punch.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Former NBA star and TNT analyst Kenny Smith, who works in the CBS studio said that the beauty of March Madness is that few teams have a real advantage - it can come down to skill, experience, timing, or just luck.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"In a one-and-out situation, the scale can tip," Smith said. "That's the beauty of bracketology, that's why people rip their brackets up. If I play you the best of 7, I'm gonna get you. But if I play you one time, my experience might not outweigh the fact that you're talented."</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reggie Miller, who also works as an analyst during March Madness, agreed that the tournament is "wide open," saying it could be the year a mid-major school wins it.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"We always come into this tournament wondering and writing which team is hot, which team is playing best during this particular time during their conference tournaments. This is so wide-open this year. I think this could be the year of the mid-major."</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Miller said it's also an example of the parity in the game that few teams seem slated to walk into the Final Four.</span></p><p>Many of the analysts' picks lined up with teams that are <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/final-four-predictions-2018">Final Four favorites</a> - Michigan State, UNC, and Auburn, among others like Virginia, Villanova, Duke, and Xavier. Most sporting and outdoor activities require specialty footwear, and it's certainly true for climbing. So if you're thinking about pursuing climbing as a new hobby, you want to make sure you have the right gear, and it all starts with the shoes.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A good climbing shoe should have a grippy and stiff sole in order to support one's body weight while stepping on very small toeholds. Don't expect comfort: When climbing shoes fit right, they should feel as if they're too tight. Even the most experienced climbers will slip out of them in between climbs or when <a href="https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/belay.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">belaying</a>. However, this tightness is what makes climbing shoes so essential for their one job - climbing up big slabs of rock or a gym wall.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Some shoes will be more aggressive with a downturned toe box and a curve toward the big toe, which allow for precise placement on tiny holds and overhangs. Neutral shoes will be flatter, slightly more relaxed in fit, and much more comfortable as well as better suited for fitting into cracks when climbing outdoors. Somewhere in the middle are moderate shoes, offering stickier rubber than neutral shoes but without the "I'm getting these off as soon as I get to the top" feel of aggressive shoes.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Those new to climbing will likely begin in a gym, trying out bouldering (climbing short routes that can be highly technical, without ropes) or top roping (climbing with a rope, which is anchored above the climber). In either case, a climber will start out with rental shoes. These are fine for the beginning or occasional climbs, but you'll want to buy your own pair if you plan to climb more frequently. </span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When you're looking to buy your first climbing shoe, be sure to try on a few pairs and be flexible with sizing. Trying on your shoes in the afternoon - when your feet swell slightly larger - will help obtain a good fit. Your toes should be bent at the knuckles in a well-fitted climbing shoe, which gives you more power while on the wall. With this said, the bend should be comfortable and your toes should not be pushed hard into the top of the shoe.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A shoe shouldn't be so uncomfortable that it turns you off to climbing, so aim for a fit that feels snug and precise, but not toe-achingly tight. Some have a strap closure, while others use traditional laces. Once you've got your shoes picked out, hit the wall and send that route you could never quite get in those well-used gym slippers.</span></p><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As an avid climber, I have tried many climbing shoes - some I ended up loving, and some I gave away immediately. I have also gone through the buying process and learned what to look for. But it is still very early."</p><p>To date, Paul has beaten a fellow creator in AnEsonGib, a former basketball player in Nate Robinson, a former <a href="https://www.insider.com/category/mma" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MMA</a> champion in Ben Askren, and a former UFC star in Tyron Woodley.</p><p>"I saw things in his last fight that were beginner-esque," Page said. "But it was nothing I didn't expect. That whole movement is still a bit of a clown show, and I don't care much for it."</p><p>Regardless, Page said he respects Paul for other things he's achieving in the combat sports and entertainment spaces.</p><p>"Even though he's a YouTuber, I know MMA fighters who were in construction, played rugby, and were electricians - it doesn't matter where you come from, what matters is how you deliver," said Page. Since I want to avoid business debt and keep my monthly business expenses, I get to practice what I preach: spending less than I earn, and being resourceful with what I have.</span></p>
