These are the stocks to watch out for during the trading session today: HDFC Bank The country's largest private sector lender HDFC Bank logged in a loan growth of 19% to ₹10,82,000 crore during the third quarter ended December 2020. Meanwhile, the bank's CASA (current account savings account) ratio rose to around 43%, compared to 39.5% in December 2019. BEML BEML has bagged orders worth ₹758 crore for supply of high mobility vehicles from the Ministry of Defence. Hero MotoCorp The government-owned Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has increased its stake in Hero MotoCorp to 9.16% from 7.14% earlier. Bajaj Finance The Reserve Bank has imposed a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/finance/news/rbi-imposes-rs-2-5-crore-penalty-on-bajaj-finance-pune/articleshow/80119118.cms">penalty of ₹2.5 crore on Bajaj Finance</a>, Pune for breaching regulatory compliance norms. RBI also stated that there were complaints about recovery and collection practices. IndiGo India’s aviation regulator has <a href="https://www.financialexpress.com/industry/indigo-gets-edto-approval-for-29-pw-engine-powered-a320-a321neo-planes/2165042/">given the green light for IndiGo </a>to operate its Pratt &amp; Whitney powered Airbus A320/A321 neo fleet on longer overseas routes or as extended diversion time (EDTO) flights. EDTO allows a multi-engine aircraft to divert to a nearby airport in case of an emergency situation and is mainly applicable for international flights. Godrej Consumer Products FMCG player Godrej Consumer Products said it <a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/373128e6-db11-4349-a838-73e4e8fc77fa.pdf">expects</a> to deliver "close to low double-digit sales growth" in the domestic market during the October-December 2020 quarter, led by soaps and household insecticides segments. The company has also witnessed a "sharp recovery" in its hair colour segment, which is expected to deliver mid-teen growth. ACC The cement manufacturer ACC has started operations at its new grinding unit in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. This will result in an additional capacity of 1.4 million tonnes per annum to the existing 3 million tonnes units — taking the total capacity at Sindri to 4.4 million tonnes per annum. The company said its total exports increased by 28% to 94,269 units last month, as against 73,512 in the year-ago period. Edelweiss Financial Services Edelweiss Financial Services (EFSL) has decided to close its public issue of secured redeemable non-convertible debentures (NCDs) on January 4 against the scheduled close of January 15. The company said its debenture fundraising committee decided to exercise early closure and close the issue on January 4. Adani Gas The name of Adani Gas has now changed to Adani Total Gas from January 1. Adani Total Gas is a joint venture company of Adani Group and Total of France. Punjab National Bank Reserve Bank of India has imposed a penalty of ₹1 crore on Punjab National Bank for violating regulatory guidelines. According to the BSE filing, Bharti Infratel will be a majority shareholder in the merged entity with a likely stake of 68.6%, whereas the London-listed Vodafone Group will hold around 28.2% of the stake. Escorts gains over 5% The shares of Escorts Motors gained nearly 5% on the back of blockbuster August sales data. The company has registered a whopping 80% growth in August tractor sales compared to the same period last year. The company further said it remains optimistic about further sales during the festive season. BEML and Tata Power gains ground BEML shares were up 4%, whereas Tata Power gained 2% after the company closed ₹2,580 crore deal with the Indian Defence Ministry for the procurement of Pinaka rocket launchers for six Army regiments. The contract has been signed with Tata Power Company Ltd (TPCL) and engineering major Larsen &amp; Toubro (L&amp;T) while defence public sector undertaking Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) will also be part of the project. Biocon gains 5% Biocon shares gained nearly 5% after its subsidiary along with Mylan NV, launched an insulin glargine injection Semglee in the US market. The company said ‘Semglee’ has received final approval from the US FDA and has an identical amino acid sequence to Sanofi’s Lantus, a drug that is used to control high blood sugar. Future Retail tumbles 9% Future Retail shares tumbled 9% after the Government Pension Fund Global, one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds sold 95 lakh shares at ₹158.61 per share. The Government Pension Fund Global fund held 2.28% stake in the Future Retail at the end of June. L&amp;T gained 2% L&amp;T shares gained nearly 2% during the early trading hours after the company closed the long-awaited strategic divestment of L&amp;T Electrical and Automation business to Schneider Electric for ₹14,000 crore. The L&amp;T deal was announced in May 2018 and took over 2 years to be completed after receiving the requisite regulatory approvals. New Delhi, Feb 11 () Public sector undertaking BEML on Tuesday reported a 90.8 per cent decline in consolidated profit at Rs 4.24 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2019 due to lower income. The company had posted consolidated profit of Rs 46.20 crore in the year-ago period, BEML said in a regulatory filing. The consolidated income of the company during October-December period dropped to Rs 699.15 crore, from over Rs 926.05 crore in the year-ago period, the filing said. BEML Ltd (formerly Bharat Earth Movers Ltd) was established as a public sector undertaking to manufacture rail coaches and spare parts and mining equipment at its Bengaluru complex. The government owns 54 per cent of the total equity capital of the company, while rest 46 per cent is held by public, financial institutions, foreign institutional investors, banks and employees. BEML serves country's core sectors like defence, rail, power, mining and infrastructure. The company operates under three major business verticals viz, mining and construction, defence and rail and metro. Shares of BEML were trading at Rs 984.75 in afternoon trade on BSE, higher by 2.80 per cent over its previous close. SID DRR

BEML Q3 profit plummets 91 pc to Rs 4 cr

The <keyword id="47209" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="finance-ministry" source="Orion">Finance Ministry</keyword> will move ahead with the already-announced and planned privatisation of state-owned companies in the next fiscal, and the chances of the new addition to that list of CPSEs in the <keyword id="6358021" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="budget" source="Orion">Budget</keyword> for 2023-24 is unlikely, sources said. The disinvestment target outlined in the Budget for the next fiscal is likely to be a scaled-down and realistic one, as the budgeted PSU sell-off target is going to be missed for the fourth year in a row this fiscal. In the current fiscal, the government had budgeted to collect Rs 65,000 crore from disinvestment. However, so far, it has realised only Rs 31,106 crore by selling minority stakes in public sector companies. After tasting success in privatising loss-making Air India in 2021, the progress of PSU sell-off has not been very impressive over the past year, and experts say that with the general election around the corner in 2024, no major disinvestment announcement is expected in this Budget either. "The plan is to move ahead with the strategic sale of the companies for which the Cabinet approval is already in place," an official told PTI. This means that the government will go ahead with the privatisation of companies like Shipping Corporation of India, NMDC Steel Ltd, BEML, HLL Lifecare, Container Corporation of India and RINL or <keyword id="221747" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="vizag-steel" source="Orion">Vizag Steel</keyword>, as well as the big ticket IDBI Bank. Considering that strategic sale or privatisation takes at least a year, and in some cases even more, to conclude, a high budgeted disinvestment target may not be achievable. "A multi-year strategic plan for privatisation can be formulated to ensure there is a concrete timeline and a well-designed sequencing and strategy for privatisation," Nangia said. "Maybe this year's Budget is going to be a little muted and we may see announcements around disinvestment and sale of minority stakes. After 2024, we may see an acceleration in the privatisation programme again," Gupta said. In the past year, the government had called off a couple of strategic sales, including BPCL, due to a lack of investor interest. Experts feel that the private sector will be more keen on buying state-owned companies if their deal is sweetened with tax incentives and regulatory exemptions. Nangia said private sector participation is more likely to be successful when the required information is accurate, such as that of the operating performance, the condition of assets etc. "An important factor considered by investors as they decide on bidding in privatisation programme is a 'predictable regulatory environment and absence of undue administrative impediments to business in general'. Other relevant factors include sufficient and accessible resources, including the presence of relevant infrastructure and human capital, tax incentives, financial subsidies and regulatory exemptions," Nangia added. Finance Ministry to stick to privatisation of already announced CPSEs next fiscal

<ul><li>A total of ₹ 32,000 crore will be paid to the winning bidder over a period of 35 years for the maintenance of these trains.</li><li>The financial bids will be opened in the next 45 days.</li><li>The <keyword id="46754" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="vande" source="Orion">Vande</keyword> Bharat trains are expected to be a big upgrade from the premium Rajdhani Express service. </li></ul> State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has formed a consortium with <keyword id="112351" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="titagarh-wagons" source="Orion">Titagarh Wagons</keyword> and is among five entities which have bid for the mega ₹ 58,000 crore contract to manufacture 200 Vande Bharat trains and maintaining them for the next 35 years. Other players in the fray include French railway major Alstom; Medha-Stadler consortium between Swiss railway rolling stock manufacturer <keyword id="6793633" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="stadler-rail" source="Orion">Stadler Rail</keyword> and Hyderabad-based Media Servo Drives; Siemens along with BEML, and Russian rolling stock manufacturer <keyword id="6632056" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="transmashholding" source="Orion">Transmashholding</keyword> (TMH) along with an Indian firm. Officials said while ₹ 26,000 crore is the upfront payment on the delivery of the trains, ₹ 32,000 crore will be paid to the winning bidder over a period of 35 years for the maintenance of these trains. The <keyword id="6355455" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="indian-railways" source="Orion">Indian Railways</keyword> is now evaluating technical bids for the contract. The financial bids will be opened in the next 45 days. According to the tender document, the successful bidder has to produce a prototype of the sleeper class for Vande Bharat trains within 24 months. The Indian Railways is targeting to roll out the first sleeper version of Vande Bharat train by the first quarter of 2024. Till now, the railways has awarded contracts for manufacture of 102 Vande Bharat trains which are all chair car. The Vande Bharat trains are expected to be a big upgrade from the premium Rajdhani Express service. The sleeper class-version of these trains will be run on the routes to cover overnight rail journey like New Delhi-Patna, New Delhi-Lucknow and others. After four years of intensive work and planning, country's first and the second Vande Bharat trains as electric multiple units at semi-high speed, were flagged off by Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="narendra-modi" source="Orion">Narendra Modi</keyword> in 2019 on the New Delhi-Varanasi and New Delhi-Katra in J&amp;K routes. The first VB train was flagged on the New Delhi-Varanasi route and the second one was on New Dehi-Katra route to provide fast rail transportation from the national capital to these pilgrim cities. The railway ministry is also working towards exporting these trains by 2026 to cover the international markets of South Africa and European countries. BHEL among 5 bidders for Rs 58,000 cr deal to manufacture, maintain 200 Vande Bharat trains

The BSE <keyword id="6484188" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sensex" source="Orion">Sensex</keyword> declined around 350 points on Monday morning tracking weakness in the <keyword id="46984" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="global-markets" source="Orion">global markets</keyword>. Slump in the shares of index-heavyweight Reliance Industries (<keyword id="6484187" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="RIL" source="Orion">RIL</keyword>) also pulled the indices lower. Around 10.15 a.m., RIL shares on the BSE were trading at Rs 2,373, lower by Rs 52.45 or 2.16 per cent from their previous close. Sensex was trading at 57,951.71, lower by 353.36 points or 0.61 per cent from its previous close or 58,305.07 points. It opened at 58,262.11 and has touched an intraday high of 58,314.64 and a low of 57,944.63 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 17,272.70, lower by 96.55 points or 0.56 per cent from its previous close. Heavy selling was witnessed in banking and energy stocks. Manish Hathiramani, technical analyst with Deen Dayal Investments said: "The markets opened on a soft note this morning. This does not come as a surprise considering the sharp run up with no correction. The support for the Nifty is currently at 17,250 and as long as that holds, traders can consider a buy on dips approach for a target of 17,450." "There is every possibility the Nifty also becomes sideways and trades within this range of 17,250-17,450," he said. A senior IT official said, "There are no searches or raids but we are carrying out limited verification exercise at the offices of the <keyword id="147676" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Larsen">Larsen</keyword> and <keyword id="304986" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Toubro">Toubro</keyword> and Zee group as we had information that they had claimed bogus input tax credit." The official said that it is basically a follow up exercise and there is limited action on both the groups. "We are covering these group and the companies related to these groups on account of this bogus input taxes," the official added. The official, however, refused to share the details of the offices where the verification process is being carried out. These are the stocks to watch out for during the trading session on September 1: Larsen &amp; Toubro (L&amp;T) Larsen &amp; Toubro (L&amp;T) on Monday announced the closure of the strategic divestment of L&amp;T Electrical and Automation business to Schneider Electric for ₹14,000 crore. The deal was earlier announced in May 2018 and took over 2 years to be completed after receiving the requisite regulatory approvals. The shares of L&amp;T ended 4% lower yesterday. Biocon Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw owned Biocon’s subsidiary along with Mylan NV launched Semglee, an insulin glargine injection in the US market. The company told investors that ‘Semglee’ has received final approval from the US FDA and has an identical amino acid sequence to Sanofi’s Lantus, a drug that is used to control high blood sugar. The shares of Biocon ended 4% lower yesterday. Mahindra and Mahindra Mahindra and Mahindra (M&amp;M) extended the date of sale of its entire stake in Neo Solren to CLP India. The company said that due to COVID-19 the sale of stake is expected to be done by September, earlier August was the deadline set by the company. The shares of M&amp;M ended 4% lower yesterday. Punjab National Bank India’s second-largest lender Punjab National Bank hiked its repo-linked lending rate (RLLR) by 15 basis points (bps) to 6.80 per cent. 100 basis points make 1%. All new retail loans related to housing, education, vehicles and credit to MSMEs are linked to RLLR. The shares of PNB ended 6% lower yesterday. Bharat Earth Movers Ltd and Tata Power The Indian defence ministry sealed a deal with domestic defence majors to procure Pinaka rocket launchers for six Army regiments at the cost of ₹2,580 crore. The deal has been signed with Tata Power Company Ltd (TPCL) and engineering major Larsen &amp; Toubro (L&amp;T) while defence public sector undertaking Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) will also be part of the project. The shares of BEML ended 8% lower yesterday, and Tata Power was down 4%.
