Likewise in this advertisement, we captured a fun, casual conversation between four independent and spirited friends who got together over a video call during the lockdown. One of the characters in the video refers to how the family has been managing household chores, with her husband taking over the responsibility of washing dishes. This is when the protagonist of the film recommends a dishwasher. Our products have been developed to create convenience and comfort for all our customers, and are gender agnostic."<br /><br />On first viewing, it seems like they have tried to make the advertisement inclusive. They have added a character that says, “My husband is doing the dishes right now.” Then you realise this is hardly inclusion. It wasn’t very difficult to find a man instead who could get on the call and speak about sharing the load. <br /><br />Voltas Beko’s ad sells ease of use. The description reads, “The ad encourages adoption of new technology to save time spent on chores during this pandemic.” It establishes that all you need to do is put the button on, dump the dirty dishes in and let it be -- a task even a 15-year-old can do. They could have easily targetted single mothers, single fathers, bachelors, gay dads or gay mothers. Or boys like Ariel did in its last ad titled ‘What are we teaching our sons.’<br /><br />The advertisement ends with women dissing men, trying really hard to make their narrative and product look ‘modern.’ Sorry to break your bubble, modern women don’t just get together on a call to bash men.<br /><br /><br />Over the years, dishwashing soaps, detergents and toilet cleaners have used female celebrities or women protagonists as mothers or homemakers. This regressive belief has been passed on for generations trying to establish that women are responsible to keep their homes neat, do the laundry and clean their toilets.<br /><br />It was only last week that Karthik Srinivasan, Communications Strategy Consultant, brought to our notice that Scotch-Brite's (dish scrubber) brand logo, created in early 90’s, and came from a deep-rooted patriarchal mindset. The logo had a woman with a bindi. However, the brand was quick to respond and said that they will launch a new logo a few months down the line. <br /><br />We wish to see the same corrective behaviour from Voltas Beko for its regressive ad.

<ul><li><keyword id="753025" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dixon-Technologies">Dixon Technologies</keyword> has risen as much as 191% in the last 1 year and nearly 100% since coronavirus induced lockdown.</li><li>The company makes popular electronic products like Television, Setup box, washing machine for the brand owners like Samsung, Toshiba, Nokia, LG, Reliance Jio and many more to name a few.</li><li>The consumer electronics segment, which contributes around 45% of the company’s revenue saw a growth of 22% in the Q4.</li></ul>The stocks of the electronic manufacturer, Dixon Technologies has doubled investor wealth since March 23, when its peers were experiencing the lockdown setback. The stock has risen as much as 191% in the last 1 year and nearly 100% since coronavirus induced lockdown.<br /><br />It's showing no signs of stalling yet. In a report dated July 2, analysts at Axis Securities expected the stock to hit ₹6172 in the next one year. In the lighting segment, Dixon has got Havells and HPL, together with other the major brands in its kitty.<br /><br /><strong>India-China tensions boosted its production<br /></strong><br />On the back of the India China standoff, the company saw a growing demand for ‘made in India’ products. Earlier, Samsung decided to expand its partnership with Dixon Technologies and led to further gains for the company. The company said it will bring down the number of TVs imported from its plants in other countries and manufacture almost 85-90% of the televisions locally to sell in India. <br /><br />  <div type="image" title="Dixon (2)" msid="77011292" hostid="261"></div><br />The consumer electronics segment, which contributes around 45% of the company’s revenue saw a growth of 22% in the Q4. While other businesses like lightning products, mobile phones, and security systems saw revenue decline during the quarter.<br /><br />Dixon Technologies’s MD Atul Lall told <keyword id="3320064" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="BloombergQuint">BloombergQuint</keyword> that “India will emerge as an electronic manufacturing hub, servicing not only in the domestic market but also in certain categories globally.” He added that the consumer durables industry was likely to witness a lot of pent-up demand, due to the virus-induced lockdown, especially for brands with an online presence.”<br /><br /><strong>Strong customers addition helped in tough times<br /></strong><br />Dixon has regularly been acquiring new clients during the crisis. Fueled by PM Modi’s ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ many companies are now looking to manufacture products in India, few of the new clients include Voltas Beko and Reliance Digital’s private label brands such as Kelvinator.<br /><br />“A key advantage for Dixon is its diversification across customers, products and product fungibility, which makes manufacturing flexible. When it is not making security systems, it can use that line to make set-top boxes or medical kits. Similarly, its largest OEM in TVs has a strong online sales model, which has helped inventory even during the lockdown,” said a <keyword id="184717" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Dolat-Capital">Dolat Capital</keyword> report dated June 11. <br /><br /><strong>Production-linked incentive scheme for Dixon <br /></strong><br />Dixon is expected to be largely benefitted by the government’s production-linked incentive scheme for mobile manufacturing. The scheme offers incentives to boost domestic manufacturing of mobiles.<br /><br />As per government norms sub $200 phones, which is 70% of the Indian market, can only be done by domestic companies, and this puts Dixon in a sweet spot.<br /><br />The company’s fourth-quarterly earnings have also beaten estimates and delivered a good financial performance. Turkish Twitterers Respond Hilariously To The Government's Attempt To Block Them

<p><div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/57e29269b0ef9737018b7231-1920/watergen working gen-350.jpg" alt="WATERGEN" data-mce-source="Water-Gen" /><p class="source"><span>Water-Gen</span></p></div><p></p></div></div>When kids learn about the planet's water cycle, they're taught a simple concept: our atmosphere is filled with water vapor that has evaporated from the bodies of liquid water we see around us. When the vapor's temperature gets low enough, it gets turned back into water.</p><p>The presence of that vapor becomes especially apparent in the summer, when droplets collect on glasses of ice water and air conditioning units drip onto unsuspecting passersby.</p><p>An Israeli company called <a href="http://www.water-gen.com/" target="_blank">Water-Gen</a> does not think of that condensation as a byproduct; instead, it has built machines specifically designed to create and harvest as much condensation as possible. Using a system that uses a set of plastic "leaves" to funnel air in various directions, the team has developed water generators that appear to create pure drinking water out of nothing.</p><p>"The target is to extract water from the air with minimum energy," founder and co-CEO Arye Kohavi tells Business Insider. "We think our solution can solve the problem on the level of countries. It's an immediate solution - governments don't need to spend decades to make a big project."</p><p>Water-Gen is one of seven Israeli companies presenting technological innovations at the United Nations General Assembly this week.</p><p>The company currently makes three sizes of water generating machines, each of which must be plugged into a power source. At 80 degrees and 60% humidity, the biggest can yield about 825 gallons per day, but Kohavi says the technology is easily scalable. The company's medium sized unit produces 118 gallons per day under the same conditions, and the smallest - which is intended for use in a home or office - produces just under 4 gallons per day.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image"><img src="https://static-ssl.businessinsider.com/image/57e29297b0ef976d008b7238-1920/watergen working large scale.jpg" alt="WATERGEN WORKING Large Scale" data-mce-source="Water-Gen" /><p class="source"><span>Water-Gen</span></p></div><p></p></div></div></p><p>Water-Gen estimates that at current energy prices, the water generated will cost less than ten cents a gallon.</p><p>The Water-Gen team is looking to bring the technology to two types of places: areas that don't have drinkable tap water, and locations that are warm and humid.</p><p>"If it's hotter or more humid, the system produces more than average, and if it's colder and dryer it produces less," Kohavi explains, adding that as long as temperatures are high enough, there is enough water in the air for the machines to work regardless of humidity levels.</p><p>Luckily, those two sets of conditions often overlap. "Places that do not have drinking water in pipes are usually hot and humid - Latin America, Southeast Asia, Africa - so those two rules are almost equal," Kohavi says</p><p>Water-Gen is currently doing field tests of its products in cities like Mumbai, Shanghai and Mexico City, as well as more rural locations. Implementing it on a large scale would be cheaper and faster, he says, adding that the company is already in discussion with several governments.</p><p>That kind of negotiation is not new for Water-Gen - the company started in Israel by creating military equipment to help get water to soldiers on the front lines. It has since sold that technology to several other armies, including those in the US, UK and France, as well as undisclosed Arab countries.</p><p>In addition to the water generation machines, the company also makes a water purifier that can be powered via batteries or solar panels, and is capable of filtering out everything from water-born parasites like Giardia to poison like cyanide, though it can't desalinize salt water.</p><p>"Water from air is for places that you don't have any water to filter," Kohavi says.</p><p>A few years ago, Water-Gen decided to turn its attention to civilian applications of its technology. The smallest water-from-air machines were a product of that, as was dehumidifying technology that's now used in clothing dryers sold by Siemens and Beko.</p><p>But Nasik says those commercial applications are not the company's main focus. </p><p>"We think it's possible to bring drinking water to all countries. Humidifiers, army solutions, etcetera are a secondary issues," Nasik says. "What's important for us is to bring water to the people. "We still have trouble believing it was really her."</span></p><p><span><span>"We remember her well," another acquaintance told the <a href="http://www.republicain-lorrain.fr/france-monde/2015/11/20/une-enfance-en-famille-d-accueil" target="_blank">Républicain Lorrain</a>, adding that she was always wearing a leather cowboy hat. "It was her style, she was not the type to wear the veil, we called her cow-girl in the neighborhood." </span></span></p><p><span>The consternation surrounding her sudden change is that much greater because she never even talked about religion, people who knew her told the <span>Républicain Lorrain. S</span>he would get drunk on vodka during Ramadan, and she never went to the mosque, <span>according to acquaintances who spoke to the Républicain Lorrain. H</span></span><span>er brother also said he had never even seen her open a Quran, <a href="http://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2015/11/20/paris-raid-female-suicide-bomber-hasna-ait-boulahcen-vo-ac.cnn" target="_blank">CNN reports</a>.</span></p><p>The Republicain Lorrain writes that her last visit to her dad in Creutzwald was in the summer of 2011. The young people who live in the neighborhood remember her visit, saying you couldn't not notice her. They also say that Wednesday was the first time they heard about her since 2011.</span></span></p><p><span><span>According to the <a href="http://www.republicain-lorrain.fr/edition-de-saint-avold-creutzwald/2015/11/19/kamikaze-de-saint-denis-des-liens-familiaux-a-creutzwald" target="_blank">Républicain Lorrain</a>, the last time her name was mentioned in public records was May 15, 2013. A legal announcement made at the Bobigny courthouse names her as the manager of Beko Construction, a company set up in Clichy-sous-bois that has been inactive for two years.</span></span></p><p><span>Aitboulahcen reportedly showed signs of her radicalization on her Facebook page, where she wrote, "I'll soon by on my way to Syria God willing. Soon leaving for Turkey," <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/12004720/Paris-attacks-female-suicide-bomber-shouted-Help-me-Help-me-to-police-during-Saint-Denis-raid.html?utm_campaign=Echobox&amp;utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_source=Twitter#link_time=1447938525" target="_blank">according to the Telegraph</a>.</span></p><p><span>The Telegraph also reports that pictures on her Facebook page show her</span><span> wearing a niqab (a cloth covering the face) and brandishing firearms. Her Facebook page also displayed messages she wrote supporting the wife of a terrorist who took part in attacks on a Jewish supermarket in Paris last January, according to the Telegraph.</span></p><p>After failed attempts to make her way to Syria to join ISIS, she <span>"offered her services to commit terrorist attacks in France," </span><a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/12004720/Paris-attacks-female-suicide-bomber-shouted-Help-me-Help-me-to-police-during-Saint-Denis-raid.html?utm_campaign=Echobox&amp;utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_source=Twitter#link_time=1447938525" target="_blank">the Telegraph reports</a>. </p><p>A woman identified as <span>Khemissa <a href="http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34871423" target="_blank">spoke to the BBC</a> and said she was a childhood friend of <span>Aitboulahcen. That woman said </span></span><span><span>Aitboulahcen was a model child growing up.
