Alongside profit, the company’s revenue also grew 18.5% as compared to the same quarter last year. And its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) has more than doubled to ₹56.1 crore. According to the management, the addition of the delivery vertical to its business has opened up a new market of customers. Those who wouldn’t normally come to dine in restaurants now have access to Barbeque Nation’s food, at reasonable prices, at home. And the company's ‘Barbeque in a Box’ offering has been one of the growth drivers in the delivery segment. Barbeque Nation's share price jumps 20% and gets locked in upper circuit

Agrawal said that they have been ‘unlucky with the way they filed the IPO’. “We filed our papers in February 2020, and COVID-19 happened right after that,” he said. The company, which had initially got an approval to raise ₹1100 crore, has now cut it short drastically to ₹180 crore. The company hopes to raise ₹453 crore at the upper end of the price band. “Later on, some investors weren’t keen to exit, that's why the IPO size got reduced. We also raised a pre-IPO round that’s how the primary component came down,” said Agrawal. Barbeque Nation in a pre-IPO round raised ₹150 crore from Xponentia Capital, founded by private equity veteran Ajay Relan, and Jubilant Foodworks, the parent company of Domino’s Pizza in India. It is also backed by CX Capital, a PE firm, and Alchemy Capital, the investment firm headed by ace stock market expert Rakesh Jhunjhunwala. “We are raising ₹180 crore, of which ₹75 crore will go in repayment of debt, ₹55 crore will go for expansion, and the balance will be for general corporate expenses,” he said. As of November 2020, the company’s net debt was ₹148 crore. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Surviving COVID-19" comment="subhead" text="Surviving COVID-19">Surviving COVID-19</cmsannotation> With the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent nationwide lockdown, Barbeque Nation saw its business being completely shut in April and May, last year. “Frankly, lockdown was extremely challenging. We have over 160 outlets, 8000 people, the business had some debt, which still hasn’t been repaid. I don't think anything could have gone worse,” said Agrawal. But the team was swift to jump into precautionary measures. “We were very transparent to all our stakeholders – from employees to guests. The team also went ahead and started asking for rebates, renegotiating contracts etc.,” he said. During the pandemic, Barbeque Nation managed to save 98% of its outlets. “Once the lockdown happened, we went back to our landlord partners and asked them for assistance in terms of rental waivers given the fact that it was no business time. We are happy to say that we were able to save 98% of our stores. Unfortunately, three outlets, which were at high rental places, two in Mumbai and one in Delhi had to shut down,” Kushal Budhia, head of strategy and investor relations of Barbeque Nation told Business Insider. The company launched a new concept of ‘Barbeque in a box’ for delivery. “The delivery business has seen good response and is growing – it does digital numbers as a proportion of revenue,” said Agrawal. “Barbeque Nation stands for value for money, service and experience. The last two components you can’t replicate in a delivery business. We thought of it differently – the largest market size is for Indian cuisine. Our thesis is very simple: the market is there, delivery is going higher. We said that don’t confuse us with giving the same experience of Barbeque Nation at home. But Agrawal said that while there may be a short term disruption in business, their long term vision to grow in the Indian restaurant industry remains intact. “This will be the nature of the business going forward for at least a couple of quarters – different states will have different restrictions. In the short term, you would see business disruption. We believe that we have already gone through a strict lockdown in the past, and survived it and that will help us sail through this,” he said. As things stabilise, the company also plans to get back to its expansion plans, having gone from 80 restaurants in FY17 to over 160 restaurants now. “We will also focus majorly on the new delivery vertical,” said Agrawal. Dish TV shares hit the 20% upper circuit a week after lenders sell over 5 crore shares in the open market

The lender reported a profit after 13 straight quarters of net losses. At the BSE, it jumped 19.95 per cent to Rs 24.35 -- its upper circuit limit. The company's shares advanced 19.85 per cent to its highest trading permissible limit for day of Rs 24.45 at the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The bank, majority owned by <keyword id="6368369" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="life-insurance-corporation-of-india">Life Insurance Corporation of India</keyword> (LIC), had posted a net loss of Rs 4,918 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Total income rose to Rs 6,925 crore as against Rs 6,616 crore in the fourth quarter of 2018-19, the bank said on Saturday in a regulatory filing. The gross non-performing assets ratio inched up to 27.53 per cent during the quarter as against 27.47 per cent, while net NPA came down sharply to 4.19 per cent as against 10.11 per cent earlier. Policybazaar gets a boost after an American fund laps up 3.4 million shares and Sigachi hits upper circuit on the morning after listing

As per a tweet by Motilal Oswal, the bank’s stock will be added to the MSCI index effective from October 16. Investors celebrated the huge feat by a 5-year old bank and the shares jumped nearly 10%, hitting the upper circuit, after which the exchanges halted trading in the company’s shares. MSCI is Morgan Stanley Capital International index is headquartered in New York. It enters a league of top stocks which will also provide by access to global investors, institutions and funds. As per the brokerage firm, this is an effect of its merger with Ahmedabad-based Gruh Finance which recently received an approval from National Company Law Tribunal. Even before the MSCI entry, Bandhan has been one of the rare banking success stories in India. “It is well placed to deliver industry-leading return ratios with a high-yielding assetbook on one side and robust low-cost deposit franchise on the other. Bandhan is a long term compounder and will be able to consistently deliver over 30% growth,” said a research report by Axis Capital in early September. The merger with Gruh Finance will also allow the rapidly expanding Bandhan Bank with an extended portfolio of loans. Currently, around 90% of the bank’s portfolio consists of small loans only. Gruh Finance, as the name suggests, provides housing loans mostly to rural populace. This loan portfolio will provide diversity to the primarily entrepreneurship-based loans that Bandhan currently provides. The shares of Bandhan hit an upper circuit at ₹608 per share in today’s trade, increasing by over 9% in the morning trade. A five-year-old bank lending to poor women in rural India has made it to MSCI in New York

New Delhi, Nov 25 () Shares of Reliance Communications hit their upper circuit on Monday, rising over 6 per cent, amid reports that Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries and three others may bid for the assets of debt-ridden company.
 On the BSE, shares of the company rose 4.55 per cent to 69 paise apiece.
 Similarly, the stock advanced 6.67 per cent to 80 paise on the NSE.
 Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel was trading 3.81 per cent higher at Rs 437.05 and Reliance Industries (RIL) was up 1.04 per cent at Rs 1,562.45 on the BSE.
 Bharti Airtel, RIL and three others are likely to bid for the assets of debt-ridden Reliance Communications on Monday, according to sources close to the development.
 "Varde Partners, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Industries, UV Asset Reconstruction Company (UVARCL) are among the main contenders for RCom assets," sources said.
 The last date to submit bids will end on Monday and RCom committee of creditors will also meet on the same day to open bids.
 RCom's secured debt is estimated to be around Rs 33,000 crore. Lenders have submitted claims of around Rs 49,000 crore in August.
 As per an National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) order, resolution professional has to complete the insolvency process by 10 January, 2020.

The independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) formed by the NIH overseeing the trial identified no safety concerns related to the vaccine, AZD1222, Xinhua news agency quoted the medical research agency as saying in a statement on Monday. The placebo-controlled trial began in August 2020. The analysis is based on results from 32,449 adult volunteer participants enrolled across 88 sites in the US, Chile and Peru. One <keyword id="17838" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Participant">participant</keyword> received a placebo for every two participants who received AZD1222, resulting in approximately 20,000 people receiving the investigational vaccine. The vaccine was administered as two doses four weeks apart. AZD1222 demonstrated statistically significant vaccine efficacy of 78.9 per cent in preventing symptomatic Covid-19 and 100 per cent efficacy in preventing severe or critical disease and hospitalisation, according to the NIH. In participants 65 years and older, vaccine efficacy against symptomatic Covid-19 was 79.9 per cent. The DSMB conducted a review of blood clots and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis among participants, and found no increased risk of these conditions in vaccinated participants, said the NIH. But she said virtual-reality physical therapy helped her overcome this fear by improving her mobility."VR exercises have made me stronger and have helped with my coordination," Lewis said. "And it's fun to use."Virtual reality is becoming a valuable part of rehabilitation plans for people with neurologic conditions such as stroke or spinal-cord injury and musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, sprains, and strains. The technology can engage patients and facilitate activities designed to improve their balance and coordination and relieve pain.VR is a part of the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy's clinical-practice guidelines for treating people who've had a stroke, and the American Physical Therapy Association encourages providers to use evidence-based VR treatment plans.The VR physical-therapy industry also appears poised for growth. Virtue Market Research estimated that the global market for VR for rehabilitation was valued at $135 million in 2022 and that it may reach $371 million by 2030.<h2 id="5cfaabcc-4d64-4d56-b2bb-6b3a5977e2b2">VR can enhance physical-therapy plans</h2>Lewis' physical therapist, Gregory Thielman, recommended "Beat Saber," a rhythm game played on an Oculus VR headset, to complement her physical-therapy plan.The game is being used as part of a clinical trial exploring circuit training and high-intensity interval training for people who have had strokes. To play, participants move their arms to slash through incoming virtual blocks on the beat of the music."'Beat Saber' encourages patients to balance, perform repetitive activities, and enter a high-intensity exercise zone, which helps pump blood throughout the brain," said Thielman, a stroke-rehabilitation specialist and a professor of physical therapy at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia.Thielman told Business Insider that navigating VR could aid rehabilitation by stimulating the mind and the body. Repeating movements and improving blood flow can enhance neuroplasticity, or the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections. "Once brain activity improves, patients can better move their arms or legs," Thielman said.Mark Havran, the national physical-therapy program manager at the Veterans Health Administration, said VR physical therapy could also help people manage conditions such as Parkinson's disease or chronic pain as well as improve their balance, gait, and strength to prevent falls and return to daily activities.<h2 id="0c31284e-1d15-4d58-9fb2-ba1f68095d27">Individualized physical therapy plans keep patients engaged</h2>David McAdon, a physical-therapist assistant and alternative-modalities specialist at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System, said basic upper and lower extremity table exercises and some balance activities could be boring at times, leading patients to stop attending treatment sessions.VR platforms can liven up the experience by offering immersive activities, such as playing pinball, making a sandwich, and playing the xylophone.McAdon uses a device called the REAL-y Series, made by Penumbra, to personalize a program consisting of seated or standing exercises for the full body, upper body, or lower extremities. "The activities are gamified and engage patients, which helps with compliance," he said. "Veterans want to come back to their appointments."<h2 id="d3be30eb-3130-45a5-b2a0-dfb813eced1b">A growing market and evolving technology</h2>Havran anticipates that VR headsets will become smaller and more affordable in the coming years and that they'll integrate more with the health-tracking apps that pair with Fitbits or smartphones.Havran said VR devices could also end up helping with initial assessments of a patient's movements, posture, and functional deficits. With the oversight of a physical therapist, "this assessment could be done anywhere, helping with health equity and accessibility," he said. "For example, people in rural areas won't have to drive to a PT office for care."As patients improve their strength and mobility with VR in the physical-therapy clinic, they may want to pursue VR wellness programs at home.
