Bank of Baroda is looking for at least 52 engineers in Mumbai and Hyderabad to improve the app, user experience and quality

<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=P+S+Jayakumar">P S Jayakumar</a> is set to take over the position of MD and CEO of state-owned <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bank+of+Baroda">Bank of Baroda</a> for three years. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=P+S+Jayakumar">Jayakumar</a>, 53 has taken over when the bank is under the scanner for an alleged black money transactions worth over Rs. 6,000 Crores. 
 
"<a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bank+of+Baroda">Bank of Baroda</a> has said <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=P+S+Jayakumar">P S Jayakumar</a> has assumed the charge of the office of Managing Director and CEO, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bank+of+Baroda">Bank of Baroda</a>, on October 13, 2015," the company said in a BSE filing. 
 
It has been alleged that a hefty Rs. 6172 Crores was transferred from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bank+of+Baroda">Bank of Baroda</a> to Hong Kong and posed as payments for non-existent imports like cashew, pulses and rice. The bank's Executive director B B Joshi clarified yesterday that the amount was ‘exaggerated’. According to him the actual amount was only half of the said amount.

Jayakumar is the new MD and CEO of Bank of Baroda

New Delhi, Apr 24 () <keyword id="6358007" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="bank-of-baroda">Bank of Baroda</keyword> on Friday said its board has approved raising up to Rs 13,500 crore by 2020-21. "Board of Directors of our <keyword id="6355272" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="bank">Bank</keyword> in its meeting held today i.e. 24 April 2020...considered and approved raising of additional capital fund up to Rs 13,500 crore up to March 31, 2021 and beyond if found expedient," it said in a regulatory filing. The capital raise will comprise Rs 9,000 crore by way of common equity capital by various modes including QIP, etc in suitable stages and Rs 4,500 crore by way of additional tier I and tier II capital instruments with an inter-changeability option, issued in India/overseas in suitable tranches, it added. This will be subject to applicable statutory 1 regulatory approvals, the state-owned bank said. Bank of Baroda to raise up to Rs 13,500 cr

<keyword id="6354335" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="reserve-bank-of-india">Reserve Bank of India</keyword>, India’s central banking authority, has imposed a penalty of Rs 5 crore on <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/PSU-banks-in-trouble-Nine-banks-report-net-losses-of-Rs-14000-crore-so-far/articleshow/52328957.cms">state-run </a><keyword id="6358007" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bank-of-Baroda">Bank of Baroda</keyword>, because of last year’s alleged Rs 6000 crore forex related irregularities. 
 
"Pursuant to the internal audit of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Bank-of-Barodas-Q3-result-posts-highest-ever-net-loss-at-Rs-3342-crore/articleshow/50974096.cms">Bank of Baroda</a>, the Reserve Bank of India and investigative agencies in October 2015 were advised by the Bank of certain irregularities observed," the bank stated.

 It was in October last year that the <keyword id="30067" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="100" keywordseo="RBI">RBI</keyword> had carried out an inspection after Bank of Baroda's New Delhi-based Ashok Vihar branch effected Rs 6,100 crore import remittances to Hong Kong, a case that attracted both CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. 
 
As per these investigators, the amount was probably transferred as payments for imports, which never actually happened. 
 
The RBI investigation has now found out several deficiencies and failures in BoB’s internal control mechanisms as far as anti-money laundering provisions are considered. 
 
"The Bank has implemented a comprehensive corrective action plan, to strengthen internal controls and to ensure that such incidents do not recur," Bank of Baroda added in its statement.

RBI imposes Rs 5 crore penalty on Bank of Baroda for Forex irregularities

New Delhi, Jun 20 () State-owned Bank of Baroda has closed its fully-owned subsidiary in Ghana and the license has been surrendered to the regulator there. In December 2018, the bank had informed about sale of business (closure of overseas subsidiary) in Ghana. "We further advise in the matter that Bank of Baroda (Ghana) Ltd has surrendered its banking license to the host country regulator at Ghana viz. Bank of Ghana and the Registrar of the Company, Ghana vide letter dated 11th June 2020, has informed that...the name of Bank of Baroda (Ghana) Ltd has been struck off from the register of companies and the said company is dissolved," Bank of Baroda said in a regulatory filing on Saturday. Moreover, notice has been submitted to the Ghana Publishing Corporation for publishing the same in the next Gazette, it said. The closure of overseas bank branches is part of government's plan to rationalise and streamline operations under the reforms agenda for the banking sector approved in 2017 under the then finance minister Arun Jaitley. New Delhi, Mar 19 () Bank of Baroda on Thursday said it will not levy any charges on digital transactions for the next three months in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Bank of Baroda announces zero charges on digital transactions for three months, to provide enhanced and uninterrupted banking experience to its customers, it said in a release. The bank has rolled out a range of digital products such as Debit Cards, Baroda M Connect Plus, Baroda Connect and Baroda FASTag under the umbrella campaign, 'Khushiyon Ka Remote Control'. Bank of Baroda Executive Director Vikramaditya Singh Khichi said, "In the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, Bank of Baroda would like to assure its customers of enhanced banking experience, as they avail the bank's services from remote locations. 'Khushiyon Ka Remote Control' is a major step taken by the bank in its endeavours to drive consumers towards a digital ecosystem in times like these." New Delhi, Nov 28 () <keyword id="702805" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Edelweiss-Housing-Finance">Edelweiss Housing Finance</keyword> Ltd (<keyword id="784798" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="EHFL">EHFL</keyword>) and <keyword id="6358007" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="bank-of-baroda">Bank of Baroda</keyword> have tied up for co-lending of home loans to self-employed and salaried persons. EHFL, a subsidiary of Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd, has entered into a strategic agreement with Bank of Baroda (BoB) for co-lending of home loans to self-employed and salaried customers, a statement said on Thursday. Under the pact, EHFL and BoB will share risks and rewards in creating a conducive lending ecosystem for home loan seekers, the statement added.
 For Edelweiss, co-lending represents an alternative model of disbursals that is asset light and creates a sound revenue model for sustainable business.
 For self-employed and salaried customers, co-lending provides benefits of dealing with a single entity for their financing and convenient access to a blended cost-effective rate of interest.
 Bank of Baroda Executive Director Vikramaditya Singh Khichi said the pact is in line with the bank's objective to increase its reach to maximum number of prospective borrowers.
 "Easy availability of home loans will lead to higher demand in the real estate sector, which is a key driver of economic growth because of the jobs it creates and the industries and small-scale businesses it sustains," said EHFL Chief Executive Officer Rajat Avasthi. KPM HRS

Shares of <keyword id="6358007" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="bank-of-baroda">Bank of Baroda</keyword> jumped 9 per cent on Wednesday after the company reported a profit-after-tax of Rs 507 crore in the March 2020 quarter. The stock zoomed 9 per cent to Rs 55 on the BSE. On the NSE, it surged 8.51 per cent to Rs 54.80. State-owned Bank of Baroda on Tuesday reported a profit-after-tax of Rs 507 crore in the March quarter, helped by lower provisioning for bad loans. Effective April 1, 2019, the bank amalgamated <keyword id="6359442" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="dena-bank">Dena Bank</keyword> and Vijaya Bank with it. The numbers for the quarter/year ended March 31, 2020 are not comparable with that of same period of the year ended March 31, 2019. Bank of Baroda had reported a net loss of Rs 8,875 crore in the same period last year. The provisions for non-performing loans declined by 69.23 per cent to Rs 3,190 crore as against Rs 10,368 crore in the same quarter of last year. For the full year, the bank reported a net profit of Rs 546 crore as against a net loss of Rs 8,340 crore during FY19.
