With just 1 zettabyte (1024 exabytes) of space, the <keyword id="38879" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="NSA">NSA</keyword> can store a year's worth of the global Internet traffic (<a href="http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/03/ff_nsadatacenter/all/">which is estimated</a> to reach 966 exabytes per year in 2015). 
Apparently, the NSA's Remote Operations Center in Hawaii where Snowden worked didn't have that same capacity, and because the anti-leak software had not been installed, within a few weeks of working there, Snowden was able to collect a treasure trove of information and traipse out the door with it, stealing away to Hong Kong before eventually settling in Russia. 
An NSA spokesperson told Reuters that the agency has since stepped up its efforts to safeguard its information.
These revelations come<a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/the-cia-warned-about-in-2009-2013-10"> on the heels of news that Snowden's boss</a> at the CIA in 2009 wrote a negative report on him that described a sudden change in demeanor and an interest in gaining access to files that he had no business looking at. That report apparently fell through the cracks.

UK hauliers demand Boris Johnson extends the Brexit transition period so they can cope with the coronavirus pandemic

For people who thought Echo seemed appealing, the Fire TV is now a great deal: You get Alexa capabilities as well as video streaming and gaming for $99, versus the $179 that you'd pay for the Echo speaker (the main difference is that to access Alexa in the Fire TV you have to press the button on the remote, versus just speak, like you do with Echo). Besides the Alexa integration, Amazon says its new Fire TV box streams higher quality video, faster. It uses high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) which means that less bandwith is needed to achieve higher-definition video resolution. That, combined with its 802.11 ac MIMO Wi-fi technology, means that even people who don't have a great connection will see crisp, un-laggy streams, without wait-times between shows. The Fire TV also comes with Amazon's "Mayday" button. First launched with its tablets a few years ago, Mayday gives you live, on-screen customer support 24 hours a day. In regards to the U.S. <keyword id="1066105" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Mobile-search">mobile search</keyword> market, Kantar said that Bing remained the search engine used by about 52% of <keyword id="156399" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Windows-phone">Windows Phone</keyword> users in the U.S. during the fourth quarter. Holding on to a majority of the Windows Phone audience in the U.S. helped increase Bing's mobile search market share by 43% from Q4 2012 to Q4 2013. 
There are two ways to look at this development - it's either a boon for Microsoft or it's ultimately inconsequential. Strong 43% growth should help kickstart Bing as it attempts to navigate past <keyword id="6363100" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Yahoo">Yahoo</keyword> into second place in the U.S. mobile search market. With the upcoming line of Nokia mobile devices set to debut soon, increased Lumia sales give Microsoft a distinct opportunity to put Bing at the forefront with Windows Phone users. Nokia Lumia handsets have been making waves again in North America - <a href="https://intelligence.businessinsider.com/nokia-smartphones-are-gaining-traction-in-north-america-2013-10" target="_blank">shipments in the region jumped 350%</a> in the third quarter. 
But from another perspective, it's likely that the remaining 48% of Windows Phone users bookmark <keyword id="6355629" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Google">Google</keyword> or Yahoo and purposefully avoid the Bing search integration that comes standard on their phones. Seeing how Windows Phone is a competing OS to <keyword id="6355645" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="android">Android</keyword>, Microsoft has to be worried about the inability to keep half of its users on its own mobile search engine. Ultimately, <a href="http://gs.statcounter.com/#mobile_search_engine-US-quarterly-201204-201304" target="_blank">the U.S. mobile search market belongs to Google</a>, and Microsoft's substantial market share growth of 43% over 2013 barely altered Google's dominant 88.5% share. Microsoft really only brought its Bing share up to a paltry 3.31% from 2.31%. Worse yet, even Yahoo's market share is still twice the size of Bing. Right now, Bing is still just a blip on the U.S. mobile search radar, meaning Microsoft still has a long way to go. STRENGTH AT THE TOP: <keyword id="10591" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Samsung">Samsung</keyword>'s two most recent flagship smartphone devices, the Galaxy S3 and S4, make up about 58% of all traffic derived from Samsung devices in North America, according to a new study from Chitika. In the U.S., the S3 continues to be sold prominently by most carriers, and for a discounted price. This has helped the device sustain the largest share of Samsung traffic, besting the more recent S4. Nevertheless, the S4 has managed to capture nearly one-quarter of Samsung's traffic in North America in less than 9 months of existence, indicating just how fast people are taking up the newer device.
Looking at sales of the iPhone, the premium iPhone 5S accounted for almost 60% of <keyword id="6354427" type="CITY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Apple">Apple</keyword>'s fourth quarter iPhone sales in the U.S., according to a study provided to us from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. That's almost a 10% greater share than what the iPhone 5 captured in its debut quarter between October to December 2012. Interestingly, sales of Apple's lower-priced 5C are still not beating out 4S sales from the fourth quarter 2012. The 5C accounted for 27% of sales in the fourth quarter of 2013 compared to a greater 32% of sales for the legacy 4S one year earlier. Perhaps Apple's discontinuing of the legacy iPhone 5 weakened the perceived value of the second-tier 5C iPhone option in the eyes of some U.S. consumers, convincing them to spend a little bit more in order to purchase the 5S. 
Whatever the case, there seems to be a few factors working in the U.S. in favor of Samsung and Apple. U.S. consumers have now shown a willingness to spend big for <keyword id="6354775" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Smartphones">smartphones</keyword>, likely syncing handset upgrade cycles with new flagship device launch schedules. Second, the rate of new flagship device launches has created a new market for legacy flagship devices as second-tier models. This incentivizes these companies to launch new devices more rapidly than before, because above all else, amassing a majority of mobile users on the most recent top-tiered, high-margin handsets creates a huge boon for hardware profitability. US Consumers Are Adopting Flagship Devices From Samsung And Apple At A Breakneck Pace

Making a habit of it can help <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16733947">lower blood pressure</a> in angry people, and those who do it regularly <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/simple-mental-exercise-to-overcome-challenges-2015-1">may actually perceive the world as less physically daunting</a>. They also seem to have better <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14593849">overall heart health</a> and <a href="http://www.pubfacts.com/fulltext_frame.php?PMID=21706213&amp;title=Forgive%20to%20live:%20forgiveness,%20health,%20and%20longevity">longer lives</a>.
So what is this miracle solution to your problems?
It's called forgiveness.
We get it: The idea of forgiving someone else to prevent a heart attack sounds just about as beneficial as licking a steering wheel to prevent a car accident. But there's a solid scientific basis for the concept, which is why medical organizations including the <a href="http://www.apa.org/international/resources/forgiveness.pdf">American Psychology Association</a>, the <a href="http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/healthy_aging/healthy_connections/forgiveness-your-health-depends-on-it">Johns Hopkins School of Medicine</a>, and the <a href="http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/adult-health/in-depth/forgiveness/art-20047692">Mayo Clinic</a> have officially endorsed forgiveness as a legitimate health-improvement tool.
<h3>Emotional Responses Affect Us Physically</h3>
When we're angry with another person, it can often feel like physical pain. That's because, rather than occurring simply inside our heads, our emotions often manifest themselves physically. Our bodies are <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7570024">designed to handle momentary stress or fear physically via the fight-or-flight response</a>: When we get upset, our blood pressure increases and our heart rate quickens.
But when we let this process drag on for long periods - either by ignoring our feelings or by dwelling on them - problems start to occur. Our minds become clouded with ideas of how a conversation could or should have gone; we lose our ability to focus. Our shoulders and chests feel physically weighed down; we start to tire more easily.
This is where forgiveness comes in.
<h3>Forgiving Can Help Clear Away Stress After A Traumatic Event</h3>

Letting go of a personal transgression gives us the chance to recover, both emotionally and physically, from the debilitating effects of long-term stress.
In a <a href="http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/10615800701195405?url_ver=Z39.88-2003&amp;rfr_id=ori:rid:crossref.org&amp;rfr_dat=cr_pub%3dpubmed">study</a> of college and middle school students' emotional health three to six weeks after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, a team of University of Denver psychologists found that those who were trying to or had forgiven the perpetrators of the attacks experienced significantly less stress, at least psychologically, than those who had not forgiven them or were opposed to the idea of forgiving them.
The students who said they had forgiven or were trying to forgive struggled less with their own emotions, spent less time ruminating and dwelling on the issue, and were able to employ more coping tactics, like positive thinking, to process the event in a constructive way.
In comparison, the students who had not forgiven or were opposed to the idea of doing so were more likely to have more intrusive thoughts about the experience and less able to cope with it; in short, they felt more stressed out about the event - and had a more negative psychological experience as a result - than their forgiving peers.
The students who fared the worst psychologically, though, were those who felt ambivalent about forgiveness. This could suggest that forgiveness doesn't necessarily occur on a bandwith, and that being "undecided" in matters of forgiveness might actually be worse than resolving to address an issue. Young people who were more ambivalent, the study authors write, may have spent more time thinking about the issue and dwelling on it even though they weren't necessarily opposed to embracing forgiveness.
There's also no indication in the study that these students had a direct relationship to the Sept. 11 attacks, so the results could have important implications about people who tend to be more forgiving overall, as compared with people who are less forgiving.
<h3>Forgiveness Can Make The World Appear Less Daunting</h3>

The benefits of forgiveness extend beyond helping to address a specific issue, person, or event. Recent research suggests that regularly forgiving those who may have wronged us (intentionally or not) in the past appears helps us face challenges and overcome the obstacles ahead.
In a <a href="http://spp.sagepub.com/content/early/2014/12/23/1948550614564222.full.pdf">study</a> from last year, a team of psychologists and management scientists found that people who had recently been asked to recall a time when they'd forgiven someone else for an offensive action tended to see physical obstacles, like a steep hill, as less daunting than people who'd thought about a similar incidence where they hadn't forgiven the person.
In another similar experiment, which they published in the same study, the researchers had three groups of people recall similar incidents, only while the first group recalled a time when they forgave the person who'd offended them and the second group recalled a time when they hadn't forgiven them, a third group was asked to simply reflect on a neutral experience, like catching up with a friend over coffee.
Then they had the volunteers jump as high as they could without bending their knees. Those who'd either written about forgiveness or a neutral incident jumped higher, on average, than those who had written about a time when they didn't forgive someone.
The volunteers who hadn't exercised forgiveness, in other words, seemed to be physically weighed down by the weight of their grudges, the researchers wrote in their paper.
<h3>Forgiveness Can Help Us Lead Healthier, Longer Lives</h3>
This finding jibes with other studies that have found that, in people with physical and emotional health issues (like <a href="http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16733947">anger and high blood pressure</a>, for example) regularly practicing forgiveness may play a role in helping to reduce the severity of their symptoms. 
Forgiveness may also protect against death from all causes, although so far there's just an association between forgiveness and a longer life, not a cause-effect relationship. When a group of psychologists <a href="http://www.pubfacts.com/fulltext_frame.php?PMID=21706213&amp;title=Forgive%20to%20live:%20forgiveness,%20health,%20and%20longevity">studied</a> a national sample of American adults above retirement age, they found that those who regularly forgave other people were consistently more likely to live longer, even after they'd controlled for factors like religion, social status, and health behaviors like exercise and diet.
So next time you have the opportunity to forgive, take it. Your mind and body (not to mention the person you're forgiving) will thank you.
