New Delhi, Feb 10 () Sugar firm Balrampur Chini Mills on Monday posted 40 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 72.50 crore for December quarter 2019 on higher expenses. The company had clocked a profit of Rs 120.93 crore during October-December period of 2018-19, according to a regulatory filing. Net income increased to Rs 1,202.60 crore during the third quarter of this fiscal from Rs 962.68 crore in the year-ago period. However, expenses remained higher at Rs 1,118.10 crore compared with Rs 808.46 crore in the said period.The company said it commissioned its zero discharge effluent waste distillery with a capacity of 160 kilo litres per day at its Gularia unit in Uttar Pradesh in January this year. Commenting on the performance, Balrampur Chini Mills Managing Director Vivek Saraogi said the company has delivered stable performance during the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2019 despite the challenging environment prevailing in the sector. "The sugar segment delivered a strong performance on the back of steady realizations. The distillery segment delivered muted performance on account of lower volumes and increase in transfer pricing of molasses," he said.Saraogi also said the new distillery facility at Gularia is expected to drive the segment's performance in the coming sugar season.On the country's total sugar production, he said it is estimated to decline in the current season due to lower cane acreage and yield especially in Maharashtra and Karnataka. "So while the sugar inventory in India remains high, the demand-supply scenario is expected to be more balanced going forward. This combined with various initiatives such as incentives on exports announced will lead to an overall improved operating environment in the coming quarters," he added. Balrampur Chini is one of the largest integrated sugar companies in India. It has ten sugar factories in Uttar Pradesh having an aggregate sugarcane crushing capacity of 76,500 tonne per day, distillery and co-generation capacity of 360 kilo litres per day and 163.2 MW, respectively. Balrampur Chini Q3 profit drops 40 pc

New Delhi, Dec 24 () Leading stock exchange BSE on Tuesday said six companies, including Aditya Birla Housing Finance and Axis Finance, have filed application to list their commercial papers (CPs).
 The other companies that made applications with the exchange are Standard Chartered Investments and Loans (India) Ltd, KEC International Ltd, Siyaram Silk Mills Ltd and Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd.
 Post process, the effective date of listing for CPs at the exchange will be December 26, BSE said in a statement.
 Till date, 22 issuers have done 58 issuances of CPs and have successfully listed CPs of Rs 23,330 crore on BSE. The weighted average yield of these issuances is 5.44 per cent with an average tenor of 111 days, the exchange said.
 Standard Chartered Investments and Loans, Aditya Birla Housing Finance, Balrampur Chini Mills, Axis Finance, KEC International and Siyaram Silk Mills made an application to list CPs at BSE for an issue size of Rs 390 crore, Rs 250 crore, Rs 200 crore, Rs 175 crore, Rs 100 crore and Rs 45 crore respectively, BSE said.
 Commercial paper is an unsecured money market instrument issued in the form of promissory notes that enables highly rated corporate borrowers to diversify their sources of short-term borrowings and provides an additional instrument to investors.
 Such instruments can be issued for maturities between a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of one year from the date of issue.

India is to register exports of around 4-6 million tonnes for (sugar 2022). Government plans 20% ethanol blending by 2025 in petrol, currently it is 10%. This measure will reduce the debt burden on farmers as a result sugar stocks are to grow,” said Dalmia. This will make SteriScience the company’s dedicated arm for the global sterile injectables business, Strides Pharma Science said in a filing to the BSE. Future Retail shares dip 2% in early trading hours The shares of Future Retail lost nearly 2% a day after it reported a net loss of ₹242.2 crore for the quarter ended June 30. The company’s overall revenue was down 88.6% to ₹ 163.2 crore compared to the same period last year. Adani Green crosses ₹1 trillion market capitalisation Adani Green shares were locked in a 5% upper circuit after touching an all time high of ₹670.65 on the BSE. With this Adani Green also became the first Adani Group subsidiary to cross ₹1 trillion market capitalisation. Infosys shares advanced 5% The shares of tech giant Infosys advanced 5%, adding to gains from yesterday. On Monday, the company said it would acquire Czech Republic-based GuideVision for up to €30 million ( ₹260.4 crore).
