New Delhi, Jan 29 () Bajaj Finserv on Wednesday reported a 32 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,126 crore in third quarter of FY20.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 851 crore in the same period of 2018-19.
Total income rose 31 per cent at Rs 14,561 crore as against Rs 11,142 crore in year-ago period, Bajaj Finserv said in a release.
 Bajaj Finserv is the holding company for various financial services business of the Bajaj Group. 
The company holds 52.82 per cent stake in Bajaj Finance Ltd. It also holds 74 per cent stake in two unlisted insurance companies Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance.
"Economic conditions in the quarter continued to be weak with GDP growth dropping to 4.5 per cent in Q2FY20. Weak consumer demand in some pockets, unseasonal rainfall and volatile bond markets also contributed to difficult market environment for our businesses," the company said.
Even as the economic conditions remained difficult, all the three businesses of Bajaj Finserv performed well and the company has been able to record significant increase in consolidated revenue and profit after tax.

Bajaj Finserv Q3 net profit rises 32 pc at Rs 1,126 cr

The company's net profit has jumped 24% year-on-year. In a regulatory filing, the company said for the second quarter that ended September 30, it has earned a total income of Rs 1,019.07 crore (Q2FY23: Rs 689.42 crore) and a net profit of Rs 754.34 crore (Q2FY23: Rs 485.08 crore). The company's consolidated total income of the company rose 25% on-year to Rs 26,023 crore, from Rs 20,803 crore in a year ago period. Bajaj Finserv Q2 net profit rises 24%, revenue up 25%

The company's total income was ₹21,755 crore for the reviewed quarter, against ₹17,620 crore in the corresponding period the previous year, which is a surge of 23.46 per cent. According to the statement shared with the exchanges, finance costs of the company went up to ₹3,240.78 crore from ₹2,444.53 crore. Total expenses of the firm surged 17.10 per cent to ₹17,336.45 crore from ₹14,370.55 crore in the year-ago period. Bajaj Finserv posts 42% growth in Q3 net profit to ₹1,782 crore

New Delhi, May 21 () <keyword id="168163" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bajaj-Finserv-Ltd">Bajaj Finserv Ltd</keyword> (BFL) on Thursday reported a plunge of 77% in its consolidated net profit to ₹194 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2020, mainly due to the COVID-19 impact on group companies. The company had posted a net profit of ₹839 crore during the corresponding January-March period of 2018-19. Excluding the COVID-19 impact, it said the net profit during the March quarter would have been ₹1,001 crore. Its total consolidated income during the March 2020 quarter, however, increased by a little over 2% to ₹13,294 crore as against ₹12,995 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year, BFL said in a release. On the yearly basis, the company said it has posted the highest-ever net profit as well as total income, adding that the profit is highest-ever for the sixth consecutive time. The profit after tax in 2019-20 rose to ₹3,369 crore, against ₹3,219 crore in the year-ago period, the company said. The consolidated profit after tax, excluding the COVID-19 impact, jumped to ₹4,176 crore from ₹3,219 crore, it added. The company's consolidated total income was at a record ₹54,351 crore in 2019-20 as compared to ₹42,606 crore in 2018-19. "Even without the terrible effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, India's GDP (gross domestic product) growth had shown clear signs of slowing down," BFL said. Due to lockdown and subsequent moratorium on loan instalments, performance of banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) were impacted in March, it said adding that standstill in new car sales and grace period to customers on premium payment equally impacted the life and general insurance sectors. Despite these challenges, the company has been able to record its highest-ever annual consolidated total income and profit after tax, BFL said in the release. Under the Ind-AS (Indian Accounting Standards), the insurance subsidiaries have chosen to hold equity securities as fair value through profit and loss account and, therefore, the insurance companies had an unrealised mark-to-market (MTM) pre-tax loss of ₹768 crore in the consolidated financials, the company added. "Additionally, BFL made a pre-tax provision of ₹900 crore in the form of contingency provision on account of the impact of COVID-19," it said. The MTM adjustment and the contingency provision, together considered as COVID-19 impact, after adjusting for tax and the company's interest in those subsidiaries have impacted consolidated profit after tax of BFL for the fourth quarter and 2019-20 by ₹807 crore, it added. The holding company of the financial services of the Bajaj group said it had declared an interim dividend of ₹5 per equity share (100%) on February 21 and paid on March 9. The said amount has been declared as final dividend for 2019-20. Bajaj Finance gets bigger than SBI after SEBI allows parent Bajaj Finserv to sell mutual funds

Mumbai, Jul 7 () Equity benchmark Sensex jumped over 100 points in early trade on Tuesday tracking positive cues from global indices, easing border tension with China and foreign fund inflows. However, profit-booking at higher levels capped the gains on key indices, traders said. After touching a high of 36,660.35 in opening session, the 30-share index turned range-bound to trade 64.56 points, or 0.18 per cent, higher at 36,551.84. The NSE Nifty was up 8.50 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 10,772.15. Infosys was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, advancing around 3 per cent, followed by Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Auto, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, Maruti and Tech Mahindra. On the other hand, PowerGrid, ONGC, ITC and NTPC were among the laggards. In the previous session, the BSE barometer closed 465.86 points, or 1.29 per cent, higher at 36,487.28; while the NSE barometer Nifty settled 156.30 points, or 1.47 per cent, up at 10,763.65. Meanwhile, shares of Adani Power fell 5 per cent to 172.90 apiece on BSE in early deals, after the company on Wednesday reported a 96 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 8.77 crore for the December quarter. Edible oil major Adani Wilmar Ltd edged lower by 1.79 per cent to 411.85 per scrip, despite the company reporting a 16 per cent increase in its consolidated profit to Rs 246.16 crore for the third quarter ended December 2022. <keyword id="6367820" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="adani-group" source="Orion">Adani Group</keyword>'s flagship Adani Enterprises was trading 5.56 per cent down at Rs 2038.55 apiece on BSE. According to the RBI, domestic banks' exposure to the Adani Group is "not very significant", and the system is strong and large enough to not get impacted by a single case. Meanwhile, France's TotalEnergies has put on hold a planned investment in Adani Group's USD 50 billion hydrogen project pending results of an audit launched following allegations by a US short-seller, chief executive Patrick Pouyanne said on Wednesday. On Wednesday, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose by 377.75 points or 0.63 per cent to close at 60,663.79 and the broader Nifty of the NSE spurted by 150.20 points or 0.85 per cent to settle at 17,871.70, after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) hiked the repo rate by 25 basis points. Elsewhere in Asia, bourses in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Seoul were trading with gains in mid-session deals while the Tokyo market closed in the negative territory. Equities on Wall Street ended significantly lower in the overnight trade. Meanwhile, the international oil benchmark Brent slipped 0.11 per cent to USD 85 per barrel. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers in capital markets as they offloaded shares worth Rs 736.82 crore on Wednesday, according to exchange data. RBI projected India's economic growth at 6.4 per cent for 2023-24, broadly in line with the estimate of the Economic Survey tabled in Parliament last week. It also estimated retail inflation to ease to 5.3 per cent in the next fiscal from 6.5 per cent this year on assumptions of lower imported inflation, even though core inflation remains sticky. The RBI's decision to hike the repo rate by 25 basis points was on expected lines but the policy focuses more on inflation despite the recent moderation in the number, bankers said on Wednesday. Analysts are of the view that after delivering the seventh hawkish policy on Wednesday, the central bank may pause after delivering a likely 25 basis points increase in the April review.

On the other hand, TCS was the top loser in the Sensex pack, shedding over 6 per cent, after the company's Q2 earnings missed street expectations. According to an Emkay Global note, TCS Q2 operating performance missed expectations, reporting lower-than-expected revenue and earnings before interest, taxes and corporate overhead or management (EBITM). The company on Friday reported a 14.1 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 9,624 crore in the September 2021 quarter. Following suit, all IT stocks in the index were trading in the red. In the previous session, the 30-share index jumped 381.23 points or 0.64 per cent to close at 60,059.06, and Nifty rose 104.85 points or 0.59 per cent to its fresh closing peak of 17,895.20.
