Bajaj Pulsar emerged as the top preference in 2-wheelers followed by Hero Splendor Plus, Bajaj Pulsar NS, TVS Apache RTR, and Honda CB Shine. In the luxury vehicle segment, the Mercedes Benz E-Class became the most preferred luxury car followed by Jeep Compass, Mercedes Benz C Class and BMW5 Series whereas, in the 2-wheeler segment, Royal Enfield Interceptor came up in ranks and became a hot favourite followed by Harley Davidson Street 750 and <keyword id="480564" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="kawasaki-ninja" source="Orion">Kawasaki Ninja</keyword> ZX-10R. The share of an automatic transmission is on a steady rise from CY 2015 when it was 23 per cent to 33 per cent in CY 2022, up from 30 per cent in CY 2021 because of convenience and higher fuel efficiency and EV penetration continues to remain stagnant at 1 per cent of total vehicle sales across categories in India. The share of diesel vehicles fell from 60 per cent in CY21 to 53 per cent in CY22 due to the vehicle scrappage policy barring diesel vehicles older than 10 years from plying on the streets Premiumization is a trend in India heightened by Droom's pure-play e-commerce model, resulting in the average selling price for cars standing at 11.98 lakh and bikes being 55 thousand. The company said motorcycle sales were lower at 1,53,047 units in August 2023 as against 1,57,118 units in the same month last year, while scooter sales increased to 1,42,502 units from 1,21,866 units in the year-ago month. Total vehicle exports fell 6 % year-on-year to 1,36,548 units in August from 1,44,840 units shipped to the overseas markets in the year-ago period, it said. Its total two-wheeler sales declined 20% to 2,85,031 units in the previous month from 3,55,625 units sold in August 2022. Two-wheeler exports, however, increased 2 % to 1,24,211 units in August 2023 as against 1,21,787 units in the same month last year. Maruti reports highest ever sales in August, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto decline

The new motorcycle will come up with the attitude of the naked series and the homegrown automaker has made it in such a way that it looks more like a lean NS200 than having its own identity. 
 
 
 <keyword id="6358511" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Bajaj">Bajaj</keyword> has still not made any official announcement regarding the launch of NS150 in India but it is expected to be launched in India within next 3-4 months. The expected price tag is somewhere around Rs. 75,000 (Ex-showroom). 
 
When it comes to design and style, NS 150 has the cuts and curves of 200 NS. This makes the new 150 unit more like an economical version for the same styling. The new beast sports petal shaped alloy wheels which add up to the style and the fiery looks. 
 
The 150NS has the same console that is present in the NS200.

Performance is something that Bajaj is known for and along with it, the 150 segment balances the mileage issues also. It has a 5 speed manual gearbox. 
 
 
 
The company has given no statement on the mileage but it is expected to be a lower figure around 40-50 kmpl.

Meet Ali Mehndi, a travel freak, who just gets on his bike without any planning and rides wherever the road takes him. 
 
Well, he has always been fond of the road less-travelled and has conquered the highest peaks, low lying areas, and some of the most scenic beaches on his bike. Mehndi left a comfortable <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=corporate+life&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">corporate life</a> to just travel. 
 
“I love travelling and life is just about that. You will find me more on roads, riding than sitting at one place in an office. I just can’t live without travelling,” says Mehndi. 
 
He has been through all 29 Indian states on his bike and rode over 30, 000 kilometres. Not only this, Mehndi has visited <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bhutan&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Bhutan</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Nepal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Nepal</a> on his bike. 
 
When asked how travelling has changed in India, Mehndi told Business Insider, “These days travelling has become streamlined in India. Things are very different now as they were quite difficult earlier. 
 
Earlier, the society wasn’t ready to accept travelling, especially middle class families. They thought it's a sheer waste of money and time. Things have changed for sure now and in today’s world, you get appreciated, loved and are also happily accepted as a traveler.” 
 
Mehndi says a traveller’s life is full of emotions. 
 
“You meet lots of people, make friends and then have to say goodbye, most of the time knowing that you'll never meet them again. Since one is always on the move, he misses his parents during the journeys,” said Mehndi. 
 
“A traveler’s life is a mixture of a million emotions, adventures, stories, friends and good food. People end up helping you and you discover not only amazing places but also end up discovering yourself,” he said. 
 
Mehndi, most of the times, travels on a <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Bajaj+Pulsar&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Bajaj Pulsar 220</a> but loves 2 stroke motorcycles. 
 
“I am basically a 2 stroke motorcycle lover and still own quite a few them. For traveling long distances my favourite bike would be my pulsar 220. My Hero Impulse will be my companion for my next ride,” he said. 
 When asked about the most difficult terrain he has ever travelled, he said that it was the Mustang valley in <keyword id="12266" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nepal">Nepal</keyword>, when he was travelling from <keyword id="371611" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Beni">Beni</keyword> to <keyword id="2561200" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Muktinath">Muktinath</keyword>. 
 
However, being constantly on the road and following his passion also comes at a price. “I live my life on the edge. I don’t plan when I travel. I just start my bike and ride. At times, when I am travelling, I miss my home, my parents, my best friend and dog Jerry and my city, but rather than holding me back, I believe, that these very reasons push me to go far and come back,” Mehndi added. 
 
While Mehndi is not travelling, he likes to play football, listen to music, restores motorcycles and read books.

KL Rahul-led LSG concede biggest defeat margin by runs in IPL against KKR

At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local unit opened at 83.43 against the greenback. It later touched 83.42 in initial trade, registering a rise of 3 paise from its previous close. On Friday, the rupee inched up 1 paisa to settle at 83.45 against the US dollar. Indian rupee has not been able to make a dent against the dollar as FPIs and oil companies continue to buy US dollars and ensure it remains range bound, as RBI protects it from depreciation beyond 83.50, said Anil Kumar Bhansali, Head of Treasury and Executive Director Finrex Treasury Advisors LLP. Meanwhile, the dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, was trading at 105.16, higher by 0.13 per cent. "The dollar was broadly steady as a soft US jobs report boosted traders that the US may still cut rates twice in 2024," Bhansali said. Brent crude futures, the global oil benchmark, rose 0.23 per cent to USD 83.15 per barrel. On the domestic equity market front, the 30-share <keyword id="19950208" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="BSE-Sensex" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="BSE Sensex" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="BSE Sensex">BSE Sensex</keyword> climbed 434.04 points or 0.59 per cent to 74,312.19 in early trade. Meanwhile, India's forex reserves dropped USD 2.412 billion to USD 637.922 billion as on April 26, in the third consecutive weekly decline in the reserves, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Friday. Rupee rises 3 paise to 83.42 against US dollar in early trade

The <keyword id="19921630" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="T20-World-Cup" source="keywords">T20 World Cup</keyword> in the Americas has received a <keyword id="21180971" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="terror-threat" source="keywords">terror threat</keyword>, Trinidad's Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has revealed even as the <keyword id="19901177" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ICC" source="keywords" meta.keywordsubtype="org" meta.entityname="ICC" meta.hostid="261" meta.entityid="ICC">ICC</keyword> asserted that a "comprehensive and robust security plan" is in place to "mitigate any risks" to the showpiece beginning June 1. The tournament -- featuring 20 teams, including India -- is scattered across nine venues, six of them in the <keyword id="19921633" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="West-Indies" source="keywords">West Indies</keyword>. As of now, the threat, according to media reports, is specific to the West Indies, which aside from some preliminary matches, will be hosting the entire Super 8 stage along with the semifinals and the final on June 29. "Unfortunately, the threat of terrorism in its many and varied expressions is an ever-present danger in the world of the 21st century," Rowley was quoted as saying by 'Trinidad Daily Express' here. Rowley did not name any organisation but reports here stated that the Islamic State made the threat through its propaganda channel. The ICC responded to the development with a statement assuring preparedness. "Safety and security of everyone at the event is our number one priority and we have a comprehensive and robust security plan in place," a spokesperson of the global body said in a statement issued to PTI. "We work closely with authorities in our host countries and continually monitor and evaluate the global landscape to ensure appropriate plans are in place to mitigate any risks identified to our event." Rowley said "extra effort in national security preparations and response readiness" will be put in to neutralise the danger. "Given the fact that bad actors can choose to misbehave in any way possible, it makes it virtually impossible to completely seal off all opportunities," he said. "However, in order to ameliorate these dangers, we at the local and regional levels have remained alert to many threats and singularly or together have our intelligence and other security agencies working to protect the population in countries and at venues throughout the tournament," he added. The World Cup matches in the West Indies will be held in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago. The US leg will feature games in Florida, New York and Texas. New York will host the marquee India-Pakistan clash on June 9. Cricket West Indies said everything is being done to ensure foolproof security at the mega-event. "We work closely with authorities in the host countries and cities, and continually monitor and evaluate the global landscape to ensure appropriate plans are in place to mitigate any risks identified to our event," CWI CEO Jonny Graves told 'Cricbuzz'. "We want to assure all stakeholders that safety and security of everyone at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup is our number one priority and we have a comprehensive and robust security plan in place," he added. There's terror threat to T20 World Cup, reveals Trinidad PM; ICC says robust security plan in place

The International Cricket Council (<keyword id="19901177" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ICC" source="keywords">ICC</keyword>) issued the annual <keyword id="21100049" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="team-rankings" source="keywords">team rankings</keyword> update on Friday, with <keyword id="19895799" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Australia" source="keywords">Australia</keyword> taking the top spot in Test cricket and <keyword id="19895063" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="India" source="keywords">India</keyword> maintaining supremacy in both white-ball formats. Reigning ICC World Test Championship winners Australia have overtaken India to secure the top spot in whites on the back of their stunning 209-run triumph over India in the World Test Championship decider at The Oval last year, as per ICC. It helped improve Australia's rating to 124 points, four clear of their closest rival and last year's World Test Championship runners-up India (120) and 19 points clear of third-placed England (105). It is the only change at the top of the Test rankings, with South Africa (103), New Zealand (96), Pakistan (89), Sri Lanka (83), West Indies (82) and Bangladesh (53) remaining unchanged in spots between fourth and ninth. The rankings update only takes into consideration teams' performances after May 2021, with India's impressive 2-1 series triumph over Australia under skipper Virat Kohli that finished in January of 2021 dropping out of the rankings period. All results between May 2021 and May 2023 are then weighted at 50 per cent and the ones in the following 12 months - that includes Australia's World Test Championship final victory - then weighted at 100 per cent. While India (122 points) may have lost the top spot on the Test team rankings, they do remain out in front in both white-ball formats and have increased their lead at the head of proceedings in ODI cricket to six rating points over Australia (116), despite a loss to the Men in Yellow in the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 following a 10-match win streak. Third-placed South Africa (112) closed the gap on Australia to just four rating points, while Pakistan (106) and New Zealand (101) round out the top five. Seventh-placed Sri Lanka (93) are now just two rating points behind sixth-placed England (95), with Bangladesh (86), Afghanistan (80) and West Indies (69) rounding out the top 10. India (264) remains well out in front of the updated T20I rankings, although their lead has been reduced from 11 points to just seven with second-placed Australia (257) jumping in front of third-placed England (252). South Africa (250) rose two spots from sixth to fourth and now sits just two rating points behind England, with Pakistan (247) dropping two places to seventh and Scotland (192) a notable improver as they overtake Zimbabwe (191) to claim 12th spot.
