This means that the Marvel Comics Universe movie is filling more seats than Baahubali - The Conclusion, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Thugs of Hindostan — films that have seen the highest occupancy rates in India so far.

But, turnout for these two films seems to void that analysis where 25% occupancy is considered to be the ideal goal. Even when Baahubali - The Conclusion broke records in India, it’s success was attributed to explosive market for South Indian movies. But, english isn’t local to any part of India, yet Avengers:Endgame prevails. The Avengers: Endgame hype in India The demand around Avengers: Endgame reached record breaking levels when the online booking portal, BookMyShow, crashed because of the surge in traffic. Even the Indian government made an exception of the movie to allow <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/avengers-endgame-ticket-prices-show-timings-24x7-india/articleshow/69042082.cms">screening around the clock</a>, something that’s never been done in India before. When booking opened last Saturday, PayTM received 250,000 requests a minute and BookMyShow saw a peek rate of 18 tickets being booked per second. Avengers Endgame is set to smash Baahubali’s opening day records

Hrithik Roshan’s War collections reach ₹304 crore in league with Avengers: Endgame

<keyword id="6354370" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="baahubali">Baahubali</keyword> has broken all records the Khans of <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> so painstakingly built over the years. At Rs. 250 Crores ($ 39 million), the Telugu flick is pegged as the India's most expensive <keyword id="681" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="film">film</keyword> and has collected around Rs. 70 Crores worldwide on its very first day. While the Hyderabad-based Telugu film industry is known to churn out pricey films, the dethroning of celebrated Bollywood blockbusters like Dhoom 3, Happy New Year and Ek Tha Tiger has made many an Indian cinema goer sit up straight. 
 
The numbers are just a part of the deal. The facts are even mind boggling. The designers reportedly took 200 days to make the sets, and then employ around 8000 junior artistes. The film also took a leaf out of Lord of the Rings to design a language called Kilikili especially for the movie. The American war film features a fictional account of what happened in the Battle of Thermopylae. The plot is woven around King Leonidas who led 300 Spartans against the Persia’s immortal ‘god King’ Xerxes. 
 
300 released in North America on March, 2007. It bagged a cool $28 million on its opening day itself and a hefty $70 million within the weekend. The film grossed $456 million worldwide. 
 
2. Troy

Troy is loosely based on Homer’s Iliad where Achilles leads the Greek army as they invade the historical city of Troy, guarded by Hector. The film boasts of big names like Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, and Orlando Bloom. 
 
The film made $497 worldwide and is in the top 150 highest grossing films of all time. However, it is one of the most expensive films produced in modern cinema at a production cost of $175 million. 
 
3. Gladiator

Gladiator is about a loyal Roman general Maximus who is betrayed by the son of his Emperor who murders his own father to seize the throne for himself. Forced into slavery, Maximus ascends through the ranks and avenges the death of his family and emperor. 
 
The film received positive reviews worldwide and earned back its103 million budget in two weeks. It grossed a cool $457 million worldwide and $35 million in the opening weekend in US theaters. 
 
4. Lord of the Rings

The epic fantasy adventure film series by director Peter Jackson is one of the biggest and most ambitious film projects ever made. With a whopping total budget of $300 million, the three films in the Lord of the Rings series is shot across New Zealand. 
 
5. The Chronicles of Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia films are based on the novel series by C. S. Lewis. The three films The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), Prince Caspian (2008) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) revolve around the adventures of children in the world of Narnia, guided by Aslan, a lion that can speak and is the true king of Narnia.
