A statement by the Indian Institute of Management-Lucknow said that the reputed institute has achieved 100% final placement for its 30th batch of 446 students in just over three days. 
 
Sales and marketing (25%), Finance (22%), Consulting (21%) And Business Development were the top four segments in the recruitment drive, based on roles offered by the companies. 
 
Over 160 domestic and international recruiters attended the drive, said the release, with the highlight being esteemed firms like Alvarez &amp; Marsal, BlackRock, Advisors, MasterCard and o3 Capital. This has marked the rise of IIM-Lucknow as a preferred recruitment destination for the roles of marketing, finance and consulting. 
 
Companies like Accenture, Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, Avendus, Flipkart, Hindustan Unilever, P&amp;G, TAS and The Boston Consulting Group were amongst the top recruiters, as per the release. 
 
Companies recruiting for the first time were Avalon Consulting, BMW Group, Kotak Investments and Tata Sky, while there were also some international profiles that were offered by Equirus Capital and Olam International.

It took IIM-Lucknow only three days to achieve 100% placement

The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=merger%26acquisition&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">mergers and acquisitions</a> in startups are going to shoot up in this financial year owing to funding crunch. 
 
Many <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=startups&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">startups</a>, especially <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=tech+startups&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">tech-based firms</a>, are going to merge with the sharks in the industry and the number is going to break all past records. 
 As per data tracker Venture Intelligence, the mergers and acquisitions in <keyword id="675306" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tech-startups">tech startups</keyword> more than doubled to 146 transactions in the fiscal year ended March 31from 69 in 2014-15. 
 The <keyword id="407698" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Merger-and-Acquisitions">merger and acquisitions</keyword> are also going to rise as Indian startup giants such <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=flipkart&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Flipkart</a> and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=snapdeal&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Snapdeal</a> are seeking to make strategic purchases. 
"We definitely expect to see more consolidation this year driven by a few factors-acquisitions that are complementary and synergistic; consolidation to take out competition; consolidation of cap tables; and acqui-hires," Aashish Bhinde, head of digital and technology at Avendus Capital, told ET. 
 
The primary reason behind this is funding crunch. Many startups that started on vision are now aiming to be profit making firms. 
“Overall, in terms of funding, it's going to get worse. Ventures that have raised series-A (funding) rounds are finding it difficult to raise follow-on rounds... There will be stress in terms of companies not having cash flows to sustain themselves,” Siddharth Parekh, senior partner at private equity firm Paragon Partners told ET.

The drive -- held for the 38th batch of <keyword id="473399" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="post-graduate-programme-in-management" source="Orion">Post Graduate Programme in Management</keyword> and 19th batch of PG Programme in Food and Agri-Business Management -- saw 566 students getting a total of 570 offers. This is the first time the institute has secured 100 per cent placement for a batch this big in its 38-year history. According to a press release issued by IIM-L, the highest package offered during the drive was ₹ 3.5 lakh per month. IIM-L scores 100% placement

Mumbai, Mar 18 () Chennai-based non-banking lender and debt arranger Vivriti Capital has raised Rs 350 crore in series B funding from private equity firm LGT Lightstone Aspada, taking the overall investment in the three-year-old company to Rs 700 crore. Vivriti Capital, which has a loan book of around Rs 1,500 crore and runs online enterprise debt platform CredAvenue, will use the funds to scale up balance sheet of its credit business and invest in technology upgrade for debt arranging platform, the company's co-founder Gaurav Kumar told over phone from Chennai. The company will be launching an alternative investment fund next month, having got commitment from institutional investors for Rs 250 crore, Kumar said, adding he hopes to increase the company's balance sheet to Rs 2,000 crore in the next fiscal. CredAvenue, the proprietary enterprise debt deal and value discovery online platform, has grossed volume of Rs 25,000 crore since its launch, and Kumar expects it to reach Rs 30,000 core by the end of March and Rs 50,000 crore by the end of next financial year (2020-21). The platform connects high quality debt issuers and investors, offers credit underwriting solutions, analytical models, cutting edge structuring solutions and automated execution workflows. It has over 2,000 corporate/enterprise users, he said. CredAvenue has facilitated debt deal of over Rs 25,000 crore for banks, NBFCs, small finance banks, mutual funds, financial institutions and family offices. On the credit business, Kumar claimed that the company has zero bad loans and prices it debt at 11-15 per cent. He said the company primarily focuses on small pharma, healthcare players and smaller non-banks. The city-based investment bank Avendus Capital was the sole financial advisor for the fund raising round, Kumar said. Vivriti Capital raises Rs 350 cr from LGT Lightstone Aspada

Mumbai, Jul 2 () Buyout major KKR on Thursday said it will purchase majority stake in J B Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals from its promoters and then make an open offer to acquire 26 per cent more in the branded formulations company. The private equity major has signed a definitive agreement to acquire stake from the Mody family at Rs 745 a share, which is over 4 per cent higher than Thursday's close of Rs 715.40, it said in a statement. KKR has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase a "controlling stake" in the company, it said. If one attaches the premium promised by KKR, 50 per cent equity in the company is valued at over Rs 2,860 crore, which will be the minimum amount it will be investing, excluding the open offer. According to filings, the promoter family owns 55 per cent of the company while the rest is with the public. "We believe J B Chemicals has an opportunity to accelerate its growth and leverage its strengths to enter into new therapeutic areas. We look forward to working with the management team to build on the company's strong foundation," KKR India Partner and CEO Sanjay Nayar said. The deal, which comes amid a heavy hit to the Indian economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic, underscores KKR's commitment to "India's long-term economic prospects and the potential of its companies", Nayar added. This is the third deal sealed by KKR in India in 2020, following its investments in five solar assets of Shapoorji Pallonji Infra and in Reliance Jio. The KKR statement further said J B Chemicals is one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in India, supplying affordable, high-quality products in the cardiac, gastrointestinal and anti-infective therapeutic areas across the branded formulations market. The company's portfolio includes four flagship brands in India -- Cilacar, Metrogyl, Nicardia and Rantac, the statement said, adding it exports to over 40 countries. KKR will be funding the investment from its Asian Fund III, it said. "We are thrilled that KKR - with its deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and experience in investing in the sector, as well as its extensive investments in India - will take our mission forward and build on the foundation of core values that our family has instilled in this company," J B Mody, the founder, chairman and managing director of the company, said. Avendus Capital served as the financial advisor to the company promoters, while ICICI Securities will be acting as the manager to the public offer. In a late evening communication, ICICI Securities said that Tau Investment Holding is making an open offer to acquire 20.09 million shares of the company together with Tau Holdco Pte and KKR Asia III Fund Investments Pte.
