Wade will cause women to die and has created a "really scary" set of circumstances in her home state."We're talking about not just throwing providers and anybody who works with a provider, under aiding and abetting theories, in prison, but also women themselves, who procured <keyword id="11901426" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="abortion" source="Orion">abortion</keyword> through abortion medication," Nessel <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meet-press-may-8-2022-n1295220">told "Meet the Press"</a> host Chuck Todd. It criminalizes abortion with no exceptions for rape, incest, or medical emergency.The law also makes selling abortion-inducing drugs a misdemeanor. Nessel vowed not to enforce what she called a "draconian" law and will not prosecute abortion-related crimes in her role as Attorney General, but will not be able to prevent others in the state from enforcing the law, should Roe be overturned. "But let's make it very clear: the radical and extremist position of the Republicans in our state and all around the country completely contradicts what the public wants, and it really does place the lives of women in jeopardy," Nessel <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meet-press-may-8-2022-n1295220">told "Meet the Press"</a>."Let's be clear: women in my state, and in states all over America are going to die because of this position."

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Sen. <keyword id="132193" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="John-Cornyn">John Cornyn</keyword>, a Republican from <keyword id="15710" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="60" keywordseo="texas">Texas</keyword>, told CNN he's not convinced by a Republican lawsuit meant to overturn the 2020 election.</li><li>"I read just the summary of it, and I frankly struggle to understand the legal theory of it," Cornyn said Wednesday.</li><li>The lawsuit in question was filed by Texas' attorney general, <keyword id="3024254" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ken-Paxton">Ken Paxton</keyword>, and seeks to invalidate votes in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Georgia.</li><li>While highly unlikely to succeed, the lawsuit has been welcomed by outgoing President <keyword id="6354484" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Donald-Trump">Donald Trump</keyword> and allies including Cornyn's fellow Texas senator, <keyword id="1649322" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Ted-Cruz">Ted Cruz</keyword>, who has agreed to argue the case should it be heard by the US Supreme Court.</li></ul>Sen.
