Six years later, the muffler-wearing Arvind Kejriwal is ready to face the people’s verdict on his administration so far. The last six years have been eventful for the nascent politician<a href="https://www.firstpost.com/politics/five-years-of-aap-in-delhi-without-corruption-as-agenda-arvind-kejriwals-party-has-lost-its-political-narrative-4229643.html">, who at first denied any political ambitions </a>⁠— from questionable appointments to resignations to CBI raids to street protests et al, it has been controversies galore. Yet, he was short of eight seats to form the government and so, he joined hands with the ruling party he campaigned against, the Congress, and used their support to become the union territory’s chief minister. So, AAP turned to Main Hoon Na and Baazigar – using famous dialogues of the movies in memes to talk about its achievements. “Youngsters started noticing our work because of all these references. They knew we were talking about something different,” said Dipke.  The tweet got a response from BJP and Congress who put out their own versions of the meme. But while the memes might be funny, Dipke says there’s a lot of hard work that went behind them. “For the last four months, we have concentrated on putting together all our achievements, the report cards, and work done in the last five years. Then we jotted out our key highlights. After that we thought – how do we communicate them in the best way. The memes were just a funny way to talk about the truth,” he said. How AAP used memes and Bollywood to woo first-time voters in Delhi

Since then, it was not a smooth ride for Arvind Kejiwal, the hero who pioneered the new kind of political experiment. Political analysts had their own doubts if the captain could successfully steer the ship to reach the Promised Land amidst a stiff internal strife. AAP’s electoral debut in 2013 won it 28 out of 70 seats seeing the party occupy the throne of Delhi Vidhan Sabha only for 49 days after which it resigned. Finally eyebrows curved up when AAP could grab 67 out of 70 seats during the 2015 legislative assembly elections achieving a vast majority to rule the national capital of India within just three years of its launch. Four among five voters are happy about how AAP team performed on the throne of Delhi assembly as a majority government. While about 90 percent of Delhi voters like Kejriwal, about two thirds have developed a strong liking for his personality and performance. In comparison with Narendra Modi, Kejriwal weighs up on the winning side in being more popular among the Delhi electors. About 80% voters strongly like Modi while 50% of them strongly like him. What to take home? A majority of Delhi voters feel that the AAP has been able to fulfill the promises made during the election campaign 2015 to a large extent. People’s liking for Modi has not worked against how they would like to support Kejiriwal. The backing enjoyed by the party’s MLA’s in their constituencies show that the government has fared well in satisfying people’s expectations. The politics and personality of Arvind Kejriwal has become a kind of X-factor that can decide the outcome of the next assembly elections in 2020.

22% of BJP's Lok Sabha voters like Kejriwal more than Modi, says Lokniti-CSDS survey

The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=odd+even+rule&amp;sortorder=effectivedate">Odd-Even Part II</a> is reaping benefits for Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) as it clocked the highest CNG sale of 26.7 lakh kg a day this week. 
This means more vehicles are gearing to CNG as CNG-fitted vehicles are exempted from the odd-even rule. 
 
The demand is so high that IGL is setting up one CNG dispensing station every two days, creating a world record. 
 
"We had an average compressed natural gas (CNG) sale of 23.5-24 lakh kg per day in 2015-16. On Monday, which was the first full working day of the odd-even restricted plying rule, we saw sale volumes jump to 26.7 lakh," said IGL Managing Director Narendra Kumar. 
 
"This is the highest ever sale we have ever achieved," he said. "In 2015-16 we had a growth of 3-4 per cent in CNG consumption. This year (April 2016 to March 2017), we expect a growth rate of 8-10 per cent." 
 
Previously peak sale volume was 26.4 lakh kg per day.

Delhi has the highest number of CNG stations in the world and no city has ever expanded its network by more than 30 stations in a year. 
 
IGL, the sole supplier of CNG to automobiles and piped cooking gas to households in the national capital region, is the country's largest CNG retailer. 
 
"What is working in favour of CNG is also price cuts following global slump in energy prices. Rates were last cut by Rs 0.60 per kg and to Rs 36.60 per kg in Delhi on April 1," he said.

Even as Kejriwal was readying for a ‘farmer’ rally, sans its ‘face of the farmers’ Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan was dropping one scandalous bomb after another. 
 Sample this: Prashant Bhushan alleged that AAP leader <keyword id="1127624" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ashish-Khetan">Ashish Khetan</keyword> wrote ‘paid news’ in 2011 in favour of a company accused in the infamous 2G scam for Rs 2 cr. He alleged that Khetan was rewarded for his crony-capitalist behaviour by being appointed as the chairperson of the Delhi Dialogue Commission and a member of the NDC. Bhushan also accused AAP secretary and NDC member Pankaj Gupta of accepting ‘donation’ worth Rs 2 cr from shell companies without the required approval of the PAC. 
 Then there are allegations by Gajendra Singh’s brother yesterday that the farmer went to the rally only after speaking to <keyword id="6356176" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="deputy-chief-minister">deputy chief minister</keyword> Manish Sisodia. Vijendra Singh, Gajendra’s brother spoke to the media, post Gajendra’s last rites and said, “Gajendra had gone to meet Manish Sisodia after they won the elections. This, even as Kejriwal gave ‘soundbytes’ to most television channels this morning apologising and saying ‘sorry’ for the thousandth time for a political miss-step that he so often seems to have committed. He said, “I admit it was a mistake continuing with the rally and my speech even as Gajendra committed suicide.” Really Mr Kejriwal! You mean to say this realization dawned on you a full three days after the incident, while you ignited fire upon fire against the central government and the <keyword id="6358992" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Delhi-Police">Delhi Police</keyword>, showcasing their inept attitude towards a <keyword id="166238" type="POSITION" weightage="80" keywordseo="poor-farmer">poor farmer</keyword> who was trying to commit suicide in the full glare of several thousand people, which included you! 
 Well played indeed, because two things have happened in the political sphere as a result of Kejriwal’s actions. One, <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> and his government for the time being will have to put its ambitious land bill in the back burner (though it doesn’t make the slightest difference to AAP and its political mantras, and I am not even getting into the debate of whether the land bill is pro or against farmers). Modi, in fact has already sought suggestions from all political parties to better the ‘farmer’s lives’. Second, the entire nation’s media and its citizens are now focusing their energies away from ‘AAP’s internal ‘dramatics’ and actually getting down to discussing the serious issues of the plight of the farmers and their future in a nation where they form over 67% of the population. 
 
However, what Kejriwal will need to do now is think very seriously over how many times he can ‘use’ the ‘sorry tactic’ to score a political point to his advantage. Because, Mr Kejriwal, it is this very public that you have been enticing with the shortcomings of the other governments that will turn around and ask you about where you fell short. Because if the public is ‘accepting’, it is also very ‘unforgiving’ if you take it for a ride! Now, you of all people would surely understand that very well, won’t you?

The <keyword id="66" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="delhi" source="Orion">Delhi</keyword> government is running COVID-19 inoculation camps at high-footfall locations of the city such as metro stations, markets, malls and areas near wine shops to widen the vaccination coverage, officials said on Monday. The national capital has been witnessing an upward trend in coronavirus cases for the past few days and doctors have been emphasising that those still unvaccinated should get the shots. Among other measures, the number of <keyword id="3132992" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="aam-aadmi-mohalla-clinics" source="Orion">Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics</keyword> running vaccination centres have been raised from about 60 in early July to over 140 now, officials said. <keyword id="8764262" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="covid" source="Orion">Covid</keyword> cases in Delhi have registered a rise in the last few days. For three consecutive days till Sunday, the city logged over 700 cases daily with the positivity rate climbing to 5.57 per cent on July 24, according to official data. On June 1, the city had logged 623 Covid cases while the number of infections registered on May 30 was 946. Delhi health department officials said the government aims to maximise vaccination coverage. Several steps have been taken to boost the number of vaccinated people as inoculation is a key step in combating the pandemic, which is far from over, they said. "We aim to maximise vaccination coverage and we have been initiating many outreach programmes, including door-to-door surveys, to achieve it. "Besides, we have had instructions from the chief secretary to target high-footfall areas in the city. We have chosen malls, markets, metro stations, 'Kanwar' camps and even near wine shops where people gather in large numbers," the senior official told PTI. Vaccination camps are being set up in these identified areas. In residential areas, camps are held for a day or so in association with RWAs depending on the size of the unvaccinated cohort in the area, officials said. "We set up our camps on the premises of identified metro stations, near the entry and exit points, and also in other high-footfall areas like malls and markets. We want maximum vaccination coverage and if a section of people is not coming to immunisation centres, we will go to them," the senior official said. Experts have been reiterating that people eligible for COVID-19 vaccination should get their jabs without delay. Doctors have pointed out that despite three waves of the pandemic and a rise in cases again lately, many people are still hesitant and have not even got their first dose. On Sunday, Delhi logged 729 Covid cases and two fatalities, according to data shared by the <keyword id="11908381" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="city-health-department" source="Orion">city health department</keyword>. According to the Sunday bulletin, the total number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the city was 3,56,02,514 while the number of precaution jabs given was 20,39,022. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on July 17 appealed to Delhiites to get the COVID-19 precaution doses, saying only around 10 per cent of people in the city have done so. He also appealed to parents to get their children in the 12-17 age group vaccinated with the second jab. Asked about the several Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics being also used as Covid vaccination centres, officials said multiple factors come into play when deciding which sites would be chosen. "It depends on the size of the unvaccinated cohort in the area, the response of people to short-duration camps run once or twice a week and the proximity to the nearest Covid vaccination centres. The district immunisation officer decides it based on these factors and the final call is made by the higher authorities," the senior official said. The national capital currently has about 520 mohalla clinics that offer free primary health care services and 212 types of tests to patients. The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 last year with healthcare workers getting inoculated in the first phase. Vaccination of frontline workers started on February 2 last year. The next phase of COVID-19 vaccination commenced on March 1 last year for people over 60 years of age and those aged 45 and above with specified comorbid conditions. Vaccination for all people aged above 45 years began on April 1 last year. The government then decided to expand the ambit of the vaccination drive by allowing everyone above 18 years to be inoculated against Covid from May 1 last year.
