A total of 4.65 crore shares are available for subscription in the IPO. 50% of the issue is reserved for qualified institutional buyers (QIB), 15% for non-institutional bidders and the remaining 35% for retail investors. Laxmi Organic kicks off its ₹600 crore IPO – should you subscribe?

<keyword id="351" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Yuvraj-Singh">Yuvraj Singh</keyword> means business, whether on or off the field. Online education services marketplace <keyword id="1066163" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Edukart">EduKart</keyword>.com has raised $1 million (about Rs 6.4 crore) in a fresh round of funding led by cricketer Yuvraj Singh's newly-launched <keyword id="6357097" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="venture-capital">venture capital</keyword> fund <keyword id="2797838" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="YouWeCan-Ventures">YouWeCan Ventures</keyword> and United Finsec, the family office of the Holostik Group. 
 
The Delhi-based startup will use the proceeds from the latest round of fundraising, which also saw Dave McClure-led seed stage accelerator and fund 500 Startups invest in the venture, to ramp up its team, marketing and technology while bringing more courses and course providers on to the platform. 
 
"India's education industry continues to be an extremely fragmented market. We are hoping to provide students with far greater depth through EduKart," said Ishan Gupta, co-founder and chief executive of the company. 
 The company's existing group of angel investors also participated in the latest round of equity financing. The group includes Vijay Shekhar Sharma, chairman and managing director of mobile commerce and recharge venture Paytm, Patni scions Amit and Arihant Patni, and <keyword id="2913729" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Manish-Kheterpal">Manish Kheterpal</keyword>, the former director of private equity fund Providence Equity Partners. 
 
Till date, EduKart has raised angel funding of about $2 million (Rs 12.8 crore). 
 
Yuvraj Singh said, "Focus on education is also a must in today's cut-throat competitive environment. EduKart can really become your trusted partner in making the right choices." 
According to industry data, India's education sector is pegged at about $60 billion (Rs 3.8 lakh crore). But the total amount of foreign direct investments inflow into the sector stood at just $1.07 billion (Rs 6,848 crore) between April 2000 and January 2015, according to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. 
 Edukart, which was founded in 2011 by the unrelated duo of Stanford Graduate School of Business alumni Ishan Gupta and IIM Kozhikode graduate <keyword id="918804" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mayank-Gupta">Mayank Gupta</keyword>, is now targeting listing of 10,000 courses and 500 course providers on the marketplace. Mayank Gupta, however, is no longer with the company. 
 
The startup currently has 2,000 courses listed on its platform and it works with over 90 education organisations including coaching centres, universities and institutions such as Indian School of Business and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. 
"Education spending is on the rise among the tech-savvy Indian middle class. I believe that the online distribution of education products and services will have significant growth in the coming years," said Pankaj Jain, partner at 500 Startups. 
 
EduKart is targeting revenue of $8-10 million (up to Rs 64 crore) and looking to announce its first profit by the end of this fiscal.

The software-as-a-services (SaaS) platform, which solely focuses on the travel and hospitality segment, intends to raise ₹1,335 crore through fresh as well as offer for sale (OFS). The price band has been set at ₹405-₹425. The lot size has been fixed at 35 shares, meaning a retail investor will have to shell out ₹14,175 to buy the shares. RateGain’s grey market premium (GMP), premium at which investors are comfortable buying the shares before it gets listed on a stock exchange, was at ₹85 on December 6. RateGain is seeking a valuation of ₹4,537 crore (about $600 million) at the upper end of the price band. The stock brokerages, who have previously raised concerns of valuation of digital businesses like Paytm and Zomato, too seem to be comfortable with the valuation being accorded to RateGain. “While there is no listed peer available for a direct comparison to RateGain in the domestic market, its valuations at ~50% discount to unicorns like Zomato and Paytm give comfort on the valuation front. In the new era of internet and AI [artificial intelligence]-based software services, we believe the premium valuation of the company is likely to sustain,” Reliance Securities said in its latest report. A unicorn, in startup parlance, is a firm valued at or over a billion dollars. The brokerage has also recommended retail investors to subscribe to RateGain’s IPO as there is “high growth potential, unique business proposition with minimal competition and valuation comfort.” The company, however, still is under threat of COVID-19 as well as any situation that may disturb the global travel scenario. It also works with online ticketing platforms like GroupOn and distribution companies like Sabre GLBL Inc. “RateGain’s profitability has not been encouraging over the years, due to the acquisition of loss-making entities and higher depreciation (impairment of goodwill),” Reliance Securities added. It’s the last day to subscribe to RateGain’s IPO — GMP at ₹78

New Delhi, Nov 28 () In a case of fraudulent trading by bogus entities through several brokerage houses, ICICI Securities has settled charges of alleged violation of stock broker norms without admission or denial of any wrongdoing with markets regulator Sebi.
 ICICI Securities has settled the case by paying over Rs 28 lakh towards settlement charges, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said in a settlement order.
 Another brokerage house, Angel Broking, has approached the regulator for the settlement of the case.
 "We have made a proposal for settlement with Sebi and it is in a pending consideration. We cannot divulge more than this at this stage but it is proper that we assert that we are a whistle-blower and victim," a spokesperson of Angel Broking told .
 Edelweiss Broking spokesperson said, "Along with other brokers, we have received an enquiry from Sebi to which we have responded. We have asked Sebi for additional documents which we are waiting."
 However, other brokerage houses allegedly involved in the matter did not comment immediately on whether they also have plans for such settlement.
 The other bogus entities dealt through leading brokerage houses including Aditya Birla Money, Edelweiss Broking, Angel Broking, and Arihant Capital and sub-broker P Babulal &amp; Co, according to showcause notices issued by the markets watchdog to these bogus entities in 2017.'
 However, these notices remain unserved and were therefore made public by Sebi in September 2019.
 The matter pertains to an investigation carried out by the markets watchdog after reports which alleged dematerialisation and selling of shares of dormant accounts using forged documents by certain entities.
 The probe found that physical share certificates of scrips of 14 listed companies were fraudulently acquired in the names of 26 non-existing bogus entities and then dematted in fraudulently opened demat accounts of these entities having different addresses, but similar looking photographs at different points of time.
 Out of these 26 non-existing bogus entities, two entities dealt through ICICI Securities.
 The other bogus entities dealt through leading brokerage houses including Angel Broking, Aditya Birla Money, Edelweiss Broking and Arihant Capital and a sub-broker P Babulal &amp; Co.
 According to the notice, more than 3.56 lakh shares of 14 listed companies were acquired in the name of 26 entities through transfer of physical shares and subsequent demat of scrips in the accounts of these entities. The market value of these shares was Rs 4.6 crore.
 Several existing entities, who dealt in the off-market with these 26 non-existing bogus entities, and various stock brokers including Angel Broking were called for recording their statements to the regulator.
 On the basis of deposition of such entities it was revealed that Arvind Babulal Goyal, managing director of Global Securities, was the mastermind in the matter and these 26 non-existing entities and various existing entities were brought only as front entities and their accounts and dealings were being operated by Goyal only, Sebi had said in the notice.
 In fact, the accounts of the off-market existing entities were also opened only on the insistence and assistance of Goyal, the notice had said
 According to Sebi, these bogus entities had defrauded original and genuine shareholders by not only fraudulently using the fake accounts but also by using the systems at the offices of registrar and transfer agents, depository participants and stock brokers.
 Besides, it was alleged that there was lack of diligence on part of brokerage houses in dealing with them.
 Pending adjudication proceedings, ICICI Securities filed a settlement application with the regulator "without admitting the findings of fact and conclusions of law".
 After ICICI filed settlement application, Sebi's high-powered advisory committee recommended the case for settlement on payment of Rs 28.68 lakh. This was also approved by Sebi's panel of whole-time members, following which ICICI Securities remitted the amount.
 Accordingly, the regulator ordered that the "enforcement proceedings for the alleged default ...are settled".
 However, it said that enforcement actions, including commencing or reopening of the proceedings, could be initiated if any representation made by it is found to be untrue. SP HRS

payments. Even though margins dropped and there is a slowdown in credit demand, ICICI Bank still managed to post 36% yearly growth in profit at the end of the first quarter.
