It was subscribed 17.20 times on the last day of the bidding. Analysts expected the stock to open with a tepid listing but recommend holding the stock for a long term. “We had given a SUBSCRIBE rating to the IPO from a long term perspective and expect the company to do well in the long run given consistent strong financial performance, industry leading return ratios and good asset quality. Given the recent volatility in the markets there is a likelihood of a tepid listing for the stock tomorrow,” said Jyoti Roy, deputy vice president, equity strategist at Angel Broking. The company’s AUM has grown 34.54% during FY19-FY21 to ₹4,067 crore and it is also considered as one of the largest housing finance companies in south India, as per credit rating agency CRISIL in terms of AUM. “Aptus has posted strong growth in both net interest income and net profits of 46.2% and 54.7% between FY19-FY21. Ravi Singhal, vice chairman at GCL Securities said that, “Company is posting losses from the last two years and its revenue has reduced significantly since the 2019 level. These losses may extend further this year looking at the Omicron scenario. This company is part of the reputed Shriram Group, but that cannot be the only point to apply for this IPO. Clearly investors cannot apply for this IPO for listing gain; one may apply for long-term holding based on their risk appetite.” However, some analysts feel that the company’s leading position in the residential segment along with strong execution quality will take the company a long way. “Company is one of the leading residential real-estate developers in south India and focuses on mid-market and affordable housing categories. Post listing, the market capitalisation of the company stood at ₹8,397 crore, according to BSE data. The shares of Chemplast Sanmar were trading at ₹527.25, lower by 2.87% at 10.05 a.m., on August 24. The grey market had indicated a flat listing for shares of Chemplast Sanmar. The IPO ⁠— open between August 10 and August 12 ⁠— received tepid response from investors. It was subscribed 2.17 times on the last day of the bidding. However, analysts at Angel Broking had recommended avoiding the stock if it falls below the issue price. “We expect a flat opening for the stock...We had given a NEUTRAL rating to the IPO given our concerns due to high debt on books and negative net worth despite having a positive outlook on the chemicals. We would recommend to avoid buying into the stock in case it falls below the issue price post listing given our concerns,” said Jyoti Roy, deputy vice president, equity strategist at Angel Broking. Chemplast Sanmar is a speciality chemical manufacturer with a focus on specialty paste poly vinyl chloride (PVC) resin and custom manufacturing of starting materials and intermediates for pharmaceutical, agro-chemical and fine chemicals sectors. Bigger peers like TTK Prestige and Hawkins Cookers, get a multiple of 61 times and 47.5 times respectively. Even Angel Broking said that the profit for the last financial year ending March 2020 was driven by cost-cutting, which is not “sustainable”. <div type="image" title="Stove Kraft" msid="80444510" hostid="261"></div> The company’s net profit stood at mere ₹3.2 crore in FY20, which improved to ₹28.8 crore in the first half of 2021. However, Reliance highlighted that the company’s net worth stands at negative ₹30 crore as of September 2020. Lags behind its peers The analyst reports highlighted that despite being into operation for more than two decades and setting up a strong distribution network, it has not delivered up to the mark results. The company's business performance is substantially dependent upon its Pigeon and Gilma brands', which have been around for over 15 years.
