E-commerce sector is quickly packing up to be the most interesting sector as more and more people start shopping online. 
 With the demonetization move, it is bound to grow further and further. <keyword id="824043" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Business-Insider">Business Insider</keyword> got in touch with <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword>, one of the leading e-tailers of the country, to figure out how is India shopping on their platform. 
 
This is what we found out: 
 
1) Delhi-NCR topped the charts as the most online shopping-savvy metro city in India, followed by Bangalore and Mumbai. 
 
2) Pune emerged as a leader amongst all Tier I city shoppers.

 3) 60% of the sales came from Tier II cities and beyond. <keyword id="6380225" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Metros">Metros</keyword> and Tier I cities accounted for 40% of the sales during the year.

4) Mirroring the rising penetration of smartphones, 82% of the traffic came from the mobile platforms (app and m-site). 
 
5) There was a surge in growth across new categories including Daily Needs (Detergents and Fabric Care, Tea Coffee and Beverages); Living Room Furniture, Gaming, Academic and Professional Books, Mobile Enhancements and Gift Cards.

6) Personal Care &amp; Grooming stood out as a popular category among men, witnessing a 58% increase mostly in metro regions. 
 7) Amongst <keyword id="624" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Women">women</keyword>, the make-up category is extremely popular online, seeing a whopping overall growth of 345% YoY. Women from the North region bought 32% of Make-up and Delhi became the highest contributor accounting for 12% of sales. 
 8) The sale of Skin Care category grew by 77% with <keyword id="6354925" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kolkata">Kolkata</keyword> contributing 125% to the sales followed by Bangalore.

9) From an overall perspective, popular categories included Mobiles &amp; Tablets, Women’s Ethnic Wear, Men’s Apparel, Computer &amp; Peripherals and Mobile Accessories.

India shopped on Snapdeal in 2016

While the three-day Republic sale started from <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Flipkart+">Flipkart </a>only yesterday, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Amazon">Amazon </a>and <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> have jumped in the battleground with their ‘Great India Sale’ and ‘Republic of Savings’ today. 
 
Offering up to 70 per cent discount on home, electronics and fashion products, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=snapdeal">Snapdeal </a>claims it is eyeing the average daily users to grow 8-10 times through the Republic Day week. The online marketplace is offering indigenous products like handlooms and handicrafts from different regions of the country in a special curated store it calls ‘Pride of India’. This comes after it entered into partnerships with state governments and central government bodies like Tribes India, Central Cottage Emporium. The company says the customers will also get Super Value Stores for specific categories of products. 
 
Speaking about the sale, Rahul Taneja, Vice President-Category Management, Snapdeal said, “The Republic Day Sale will see discounts go up as high as 70 per cent. At the same time, Snapdeal customers will find a more varied range of categories and products to choose from. Looking back at the euphoric response we have seen for special sales on earlier occasions, we expect the average daily users to grow by eight to ten times throughout the republic day week.”

<keyword id="18635" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Amazon">Amazon</keyword> has been heavily advertising for its 'Great India Sale' from January 21 to 23. The ecommerce website is looking at 72-hour Deals Marathon with discounts offered by sellers, every-hour deals and limited time deals on brands like GoPro Cameras, ME Electronics, Ravensburger Puzzles etc.. Amazon is also offering 10 per cent additional cash back for Citibank credit card holders. 
 
Interesting deals - up to 30% off on cameras, up to 50% on headphones, OnePlus X at Rs 14,999, up to 70% on home and kitchen products, <keyword id="10387" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Microsoft">Microsoft</keyword> Surface Pro 4 for Rs 89,990, up to 30% off on large appliances fridges and washing machine, and up to 40% on personal care appliances. 
 
<keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> is hosting a three-day sale from January 20 to 22 where the company claims to have laptops, cameras, apparel to top rated wearables and smartphones on sale. Flipkart claims to provide customers a range of options to browse and shop from its web page, app and Flipkart Lite. 
 
Interesting deals - minimum 30% off on Philips Juicer Mixer Grinders, Vu 32 inch LED TV for Rs 13,990, minimum 40% off on winter wear, Le 1s smart-phone for Rs 10,999 and the deals also extend to furniture such as sofas and home and kitchen appliances: Washing machine upto Rs 5,000 less, discount of Rs 2,000 on Moto G and Moto G turbo, plasma television sets from LG and Samsung of 32 inches starting from Rs 18,999 onwards. 
 
Snapdeal's 'Republic of Savings' sale will last the longest, from January 21 – 26 and promises to offer new deals every hour. 
 
Interesting deals - up to 60% off on books, up to 35% off on Intel 2 in 1s, up to 50% on electronics and kitchen appliances. The sale also includes exclusive offers on smart-phones such as the iBall Cuddle, Intex Cloud Flash 4G and Infocus M370i 4G 8GB. Other deals include discounts on home furnishings, men's footwear, beauty and personal care and computer and peripherals.

These stock pickers rode the wave of 2012, a year where more than 300 S&amp;P <keyword id="6354298" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="stocks">stocks</keyword> saw returns over 10%.
And as individual stocks and sectors <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/cross-asset-correlations-have-collapsed-2013-8">stop correlating with the market as a whole</a>, it's even more important to know which equities to buy and sell.
To compile the ranking, Stamford-based Greenwich Associates surveyed almost 950 buyside <keyword id="49628" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="analysts">analysts</keyword> at 190 different investment firms, mutual funds, hedge funds, and more asking them who they considered to be the best of the best for investment advice.
The list breaks down the best analysts by sector, but the overall winner was J.P. Morgan. Under the tutelage of equity research head Noelle Grainger, the team scored the largest number in the survey for the fourth consecutive year.
