Most exit polls are giving all four seats in the state to BJP and none to Congress. Today’s Chanakya also predicted that Congress may fail to win even one seat in Himachal Pradesh and BJP will bag all the four seats. Himachal witnessed a direct contest between BJP and Congress. Himachal Pradesh has four Lok Sabha seats namely Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur and Shimla. IN 2014 general elections, the BJP won a thumping victory from this state and bagged all the four seats. The sitting MPs of the party who won during 2014 elections from Himachal Pradesh are Shanta Kumar (Kangra), Ram Swaroop Sharma (Mandi), Anurag Singh Thakur (Hamirpur), and Virendra Kashyap (Shimla). The party is now fielding two of its sitting MPs namely Ramswaroop Sharma and Anurag Thakur from their winning constituencies. Shantakumar in Kangra and Suresh Kashyap in Shimla have been replaced by Kishan Kapoor and Suresh Kashyap respectively. The Congress party is now fielding Ram Lal Thakur from Hamirpur, Pawan Kajal from Kangra, Ashrey Sharma from Mandi and Dhani Ram Shandil from Shimla. For so long, the Mandi constituency had been a stronghold for the Congress party. Out of the 15 Lok Sabha elections held so far in the country, Congress won this seat 11 times. This constituency has 17 assembly seats and the BJP has 14 seats under its umbrella now. During the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign in Himachal Pradesh, the key leader of the party Dumal was seen vigorously campaigning for bagging favorable results for the BJP from Hamirpur and Shantakumar from Kangra.

Lok Sabha Election 2019 Candidate List for Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh goes for polling during the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 19, 2019. The state of Himachal Pradesh has only 4 Lok Sabha seats to give the parliament. At present, the BJP holds all the four seats in Himachal Pradesh. As per the list of candidates announced by BJP, Kishan Kapoor will face the elections from Kangra, Ramswaroop Sharma from Mandi, Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur and Suresh Kashyap will contest from Shimla on behalf of BJP. CPI (M) has declared that Daleep Kaifth will contest the elections from Mandi Lok Sabha seat. The party is contesting in the state independently without forming any alliance. Earlier the party declared that it will not be joining the mahagathbandhan, an alliance formed by the opposite parties. The Congress party has decided to field former Union minister Sukh Ram's grandson Ashray Sharma from Mandi. Col Dhani Ram Shandil, former MP and former state minister will face the elections from Shimla (SC) seat. From Kangra Lok Sabha seat, Pawan Kajal will fight the upcoming elections. The Congress has nominated former athlete Ram Lal Thakur to contest Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat.  Zoya Akhtar’s story stands out The story of a haunted nurse that was directed by 2019’s most successful Zoya Akhtar however received a thumbs up. Not only did she direct the critically and commercially acclaimed Gully Boy but her web series ‘Made in Heaven’ on Amazon Prime was a hit with the audience. She also brought star power into her story. Janhvi Kapoor plays a nurse Sameera, who is haunted while providing care to an elderly ailing lady (Surekha Sikri). The nurse who has plans to entertain her boyfriend, is haunted by unusual noises. The segments by Dibakar Banerje and Karan Johar received average reviews. Johar however fell into his old habits as he inducted a wedding scene in a horror film. All in all, the only ones haunted by the series are Netflix executives who bankrolled it. Netflix's latest India original with ace director Anurag Kashyap is getting trolled

When Indian censor board chief <keyword id="15361" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Pahlaj-Nihalani">Pahlaj Nihalani</keyword> accused Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap of taking money from the Aam Aadmi Party (<keyword id="6356115" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="AAP">AAP</keyword>) for making <keyword id="6356850" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Udta-Punjab">Udta Punjab</keyword> to show the State in bad light, he must have not realised it would boomerang. 
 
The whole controversy surrounding Bollywood movie Udta Punjab, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh, has knowingly or unknowingly worked in the favour of the AAP. 
 
Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh said, “It is a joke that Nihalani thinks AAP will give Anurag Kashyap money to make a film just to show BJP-SAD in a bad light. One need not go that far. It is all out in the open anyway. Drug abuse in Punjab is a harsh reality, and we are not supporting Kashyap here so much as we are backing the issue.” 
 
The accusations made by the censor board chief, which were rubbished by Anurag Kashyap, has given political plank to AAP for Punjab assembly elections in 2017-Drug menace. 
 
It is likely that AAP will give voice to the undertones of Punjab, who want to get rid of the menace, which has consumed many lives, taking away sole breadwinners from the families. 
 
AAP had surprised everyone in 2014 Lok Sabha polls by winning four seats in the lower house, and they were from Punjab. 
 
Since then, AAP has been making all efforts to cement its position in Punjab and derail SAD-BJP alliance. 
 
However, this is not the first time the AAP attacked the state government. In previous instances too, AAP leaders have openly accused Punjab Cabinet Ministers of being ‘drug lords’. 
 
“In the past, Sukhbir Badal has denied any drug menace in Punjab and his Cabinet Minister Surjit Jiyani has ruled out even a single drug-addict in the state, but on the other hand, Chief Minister Parkash Badal announced the opening of the country’s first Women Rehab Centre for de-addiction in the state,” AAP MP Bhagwant Mann had said. 
 
He also alleged that Punjab Cabinet Minister Bikramjit Majithia was a drug lord. 
 
Then, Majithia had filed a defamation case against the AAP leaders, including chief Arvind Kejriwal. 
 
In response to the defamation case, Bhagwant Mann said, “Badals should visit Maqbool Pura of Amritsar and Sur Singh village of Tarn Taran to assess how drugs ruined several families.” 
 
He has spoken the truth. 
 
The situation in Maqboolpura is very grim, as the village is now known as the ‘village of widows’. Families residing in the village say there is hardly any male member who is not affected by the drug menace and most of them have died. 
 
A study by Social Security Development of Women and Children department stated that 67 percent households in Punjab have at least one person addicted to drugs. The Narcotics Bureau stated that nearly 40 percent men in Punjab are hooked to drugs. 
 
Well, Kejriwal could gain ground in Punjab, dismantling the Punjab government. Only time will tell.

Exit polls had predicted landslide victory for BJP in Himachal Pradesh. Most exit polls are giving all four seats in the state to BJP and none to Congress. Today’s Chanakya also predicted that Congress may fail to win even one seat in Himachal Pradesh and BJP will bag all the four seats. Himachal witnessed a direct contest between BJP and Congress. Himachal Pradesh has four Lok Sabha seats namely Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur and Shimla. IN 2014 general elections, the BJP won a thumping victory from this state and bagged all the four seats. The sitting MPs of the party who won during 2014 elections from Himachal Pradesh are Shanta Kumar (Kangra), Ram Swaroop Sharma (Mandi), Anurag Singh Thakur (Hamirpur), and Virendra Kashyap (Shimla). The party is now fielding two of its sitting MPs namely Ramswaroop Sharma and Anurag Thakur from their winning constituencies. Shantakumar in Kangra and Suresh Kashyap in Shimla have been replaced by Kishan Kapoor and Suresh Kashyap respectively. The Congress party is now fielding Ram Lal Thakur from Hamirpur, Pawan Kajal from Kangra, Ashrey Sharma from Mandi and Dhani Ram Shandil from Shimla. For so long, the Mandi constituency had been a stronghold for the Congress party. Out of the 15 Lok Sabha elections held so far in the country, Congress won this seat 11 times. This constituency has 17 assembly seats and the BJP has 14 seats under its umbrella now. During the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign in Himachal Pradesh, the key leader of the party Dumal was seen vigorously campaigning for bagging favorable results for the BJP from Hamirpur and Shantakumar from Kangra.

Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Kennedy’ is the only Indian movie to be screened at Cannes 2023

Lucknow, Twenty two feature films, including six Bhojpuri films, have been the beneficiary of the <keyword id="43254" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Yogi-Adityanath">Yogi Adityanath</keyword> government's film policy. "Nearly 35 more films have been cleared by the finance committee. Bill vouchers of such films have been deposited and this means that these films would be next in line for subsidy which is cleared in a phased manner," said an official of Film Bandhu, the nodal body for film clearance and subsidy in the state. The Uttar Pradesh government has, so far, cleared subsidy worth over Rs 112.4 million for 16 Hindi and six Bhojpuri films. "The subsidy amount for 22 films is being transferred directly into the filmmakers' accounts through real time gross settlement (RTGS)," the official said. Among these 22 films are 'Anaarkali of Aarah', 'Shaadi Main Zaroor Aana', 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' and 'Behen Hogi Teri'. Interestingly, Anurag Kashyap's 'Saand ki Aankh', which the Yogi Adityanath government had declared tax-free in 2019, is not among the subsidy beneficiaries. 'Saand Ki Aankh' stars <keyword id="699893" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Taapsee-Pannu">Taapsee Pannu</keyword> and Bhumi Pednekar. The film is based on the life of Chandro Tomar and <keyword id="2594110" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Prakashi-Tomar">Prakashi Tomar</keyword>, the two grandmothers from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh who learnt shooting at the age of 60 years and then went on to earn accolades. Anurag Kashyap, the producer of 'Saand ki Aankh', has been vocal in his opposition to the new citizenship law and was also among 49 celebrities who had written to Prime Minister <keyword id="6354477" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narendra-Modi">Narendra Modi</keyword> against growing intolerance. Bollywood celebrities like <keyword id="6389563" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Madhur-Bhandarkar">Madhur Bhandarkar</keyword> had criticized Kashyap for seeking subsidy from the same government which he was criticizing. Meanwhile, Film Bandhu spokesman said that, on an average, three films were seeking subsidy every month in the state. There is a craze among filmmakers to shoot in Uttar Pradesh locations like Varanasi, Mathura, Agra, Sarnath and Sonebhadra. In 2018, the Yogi Adityanath government had revised the existing film policy. Under the new policy if half of a film has been shot in the state, the producer would be eligible for a subsidy of Rs 1 crore, while shooting two-thirds of the film in the state would make the producer eligible for Rs 2 crores. In March 2019, Adityanath had personally given away cheques worth Rs 7 crores to 14 filmmakers for movies shot in the state and had even suggested a film on Prayagraj's 'Kumbh'. The Yogi government has also given subsidy to hit films like Boney Kapoor's "Mom", "Toilet-- Ek Prem Katha" and "Nil Batey Sannata" among others. In the new policy, including four to five actors from the state in his film also makes the producer eligible for Rs 25 lakh, while an all-UP star cast make a producer eligible for Rs 50 lakh. The government had also reworked the policy to extend cash subsidies, which were till then available only to Hindi films and those made in UP regional languages, to films shot in English or any regional language.

The 68th annual <keyword id="6362016" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="100" keywordseo="Cannes-film-festival">Cannes Film Festival</keyword>, which starts today in the beautiful city of Cannes, France, is all set to make a lot of headlines, like it has been doing, year after year. 
 This year, the world would see not one or two but three Indian beauties walking down the red carpet of the Cannes film festival. All three divas, namely <keyword id="6366471" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Aishwarya-Rai">Aishwarya Rai</keyword> Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif would be representing the popular international cosmetic brand, L’Oreal. 
 
This would be the Cannes debut of Katrina Kaif, as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor have already appeared and represented the brand at the prestigious film festival. 
 
Katrina Kaif would be walking the red carpet on the first and second day of the festival, which means that she would be gracing the red carpet today and tomorrow. 
 
For Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who completes 14 years at Cannes this year, the red carpet appearance would be towards the end of the festival, reportedly on 17th and 20th May. 
 
Sonam Kapoor, for whom this is the 5th Cannes appearance, would be showing off her elegance on 16th and 18th May. 
 
Talking of movies, there are two Indian feature films that will be screened under the Uncertain Regard section. The first one, titled Masaan has Richa Chaddha in the lead. The movie has been shot in Varanasi, is directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. The second movie is Gurvinder Singh's Punjabi movie Chauthi Koot, which is a period drama set in Punjab of the 1980s. 
 
Other than this, there is a short movie to be screened, called Miyan Kal Aana, which is produced by actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and directed by his brother Shams Siddiqui.

This isn't the first time Alfonso Cuarón has featured in one of his daughter's TikTok videos. Bu posted a video on February 26 in which she dances to Lil Uzi Vert's "SideLine Watching (Hold Up)" while her dad stands to the side and occasionally mimics some of her dance moves. "He was so confused," the caption reads.
